There's a secretary who is also a nurse and she is completely rude and incompetent. We had added our newborn daughter to our medical aid and we got the confirmation from our medical aid that she was added. When it came to payment, the secretary checked the members on my medical aid on her iPad and literally argued with me saying that my daughter is not on my medical aid. I stood my ground and said she is. The secretary eventually did some extra things on her iPad and then backtracked and said my daughter is in fact on my medical aid. No apology. They also made me overpay my account in the past. When I enquired about it, they said they will keep the extra money for the next visit. They didn't even ask me! I refused and asked them to pay me back the money I overpaid. The accounts lady apologized and they paid me back. On another occasion they made me overpay my account again as the medical aid covered my consultation and Dr Jooste's secretary wanted me to pay for the same consultation. I ended up paying because I didn't want to argue. Once I saw proof that my medical aid did pay, I called them and the accounts lady told me she would call me back in two weeks' time once the medical aid's payment clears so that she can get my banking details to reimburse me. It has now been over two weeks and she hasn't contacted me. They have literally accepted a double payment for the same consultation and stayed quiet about it. This is very dubious. I will not be coming back to this doctor's practice. UPDATE: I have been reimbursed and I am satisfied with the response and steps taken by the Dr. I have adjusted my review accordingly.

Yesterday, on drs orders (literally) I took the 2 sisters for waffles at The Belgium Waffle House in Strand. Was outstanding as always. I just want to add. Dr Chris Jooste, my Dad's GP has been absolutely amazing over the last 3 months (and before as he was Dad's GP) . After we took my Dad out of hospital in Dec they said it is terminal and nothing can be done. And Mom and I decided he will not see the inside of a hospital again and dr agreed with us. He had dimentia as well his experience with hospitals and strangers was very traumatic. My Mom was/is a qualified nursing sister, I had some nursing under the belt and having had a Mom and Granny who were both nurses and living with my dwarves for the past 17 years, we could handle it. And of course having Dr Jooste just doen the road helped a lot to put our minds at ease. I need to mention Annemarie, Corrie and Sanet, the reception ladies. They were absolutly amazing. Always a kind word and when we phoned we got immediate response. Thank you ladies! It was very difficult but so worth it to be with my father until the end in his happy place with my Mom at his side. Dr Jooste phoned everyday and the last month especially, he did home visits just about every day/ second day. And phoned every morning. We could phone him day or night. He was an absolute rock. And yesterday morning he phoned my Mom to hear how she is copingafter my Dad's passing. And that is when he ordered her to go somewhere and look at the sea and have some waffles. It did us all the world of good.

I highly recommend Dr Eon Truter. My boy (13 months) was constantly sick for over a year. We took him to 4 different paediatricians in Helderberg, 3 experienced GP's, we even ended up taking him to an ENT in JHB. All giving mostly the same advice "its behavioural" or they just check him and put him on antibiotics. Then 2 weeks later same story. Then my aunt met Dr Eon and said we need to go try him out. He was the first dr to take his time, went to read up, went the extra mile, followed up and finally came to the correct diagnosis. Lots of money waisted, a year later, no sleep and plenty of prayers. I believe after Monday's operation our baby boy will be a healthy little baby. I will recommend everyone to him. Don't be fooled, years of experience these days means nothing. What matters is passion, knowledge and that he treats his clients as people and not numbers. This dr LOVES his job and you can see it! Thank you dr Eon Truter.

Everything starts with the phoning and booking an appointment which the reception was fantastic. On arrival stepping into Gordons Bay Medical both the reception ladies were both friendly towards me which helps so much when you are nervous seeing the doctor. As soon as I met doctor Jooste my nerves went away and I felt relaxed around him he treated me with respect and not a number he had to do an operation which wasn't booked but he put me first which most doctors would of told me to make another appointment to do the operation . Dr Jooste was gentely with me when he did the operation and his assistant was also amazing by keeping me calm. I am so grateful to Dr Jooste and his assistant and I will definitely put Dr Jooste as my family doctor. If you want an AMAZING docoter and to be part of a practice that treats you with respect then Gordons Bay Medical is the best and you will be in very good hands

I write this post with a heavy heart, I wish I could go back in time and undo the appointment that I had with Dr Chris Jooste. He was unprofessional and inappropriate, how can a Dr. suggest to a first time pregnant mother to abort her child and diagnose me with a mental condition because of my cheerful and talkative nature. I can't believe this Dr's. "God complex" to speak to me the way he did, it was clear he thinks he is superior as I wasn't allowed to ask questions. I wasn't even supposed to go to this Dr. But he was the only one that had an opening as my Dr. And many others were fully booked. Now I know why he had an opening!!!I would never suggest a person of color go to this Dr, absolutely pathetic, he deserves his license to be removed. PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS REVIEW, I'M TRAUMATIZED ENOUGH BY YOU PEOPLE!!!

Just made a call to book an appointment. The receptionist asked me which doctor I wished to see and I explained that I cannot differentiate them and it has been a while since I was there but I wish to see the same doctor who helped me the other time because he has my information. The lady said oh! Yene! Oh yene! And dropped my call. I get that I might have been wasting her time but I called in hoping that she will at least ask my name then maybe tell me to call again. I think all that was needed was for my name to be check on the system. I checked for my doctor's certificate but I don't have it with me and I think I gave it to my employer. Oh well!!!

I visited Dr Chris Jooste, feeling very I'll. I had the most intensive examination I have ever had in the world over thirty minutes, and then a diagnosis in words I could understand. Blood tests arranged the same day and an M R. I scan to follow, then a referral to a brilliant consultant who expanded on the doctors diagnosis, with ultra sound scans and an E C G. I believe I have had the most brilliant service from the lovely friendly ladies in reception who do there utmost to fit you in to the most professional doctor I would recommend to anybody. Dr Chris jooste is an excellent doctor who we had the pleasure of meeting in April 2016 when we relocated from JHB to GORDONS BAY and our 4yr old daughter had an accident off the jungle gym,DR JOOSTE really handled the situation with TOP CLASS professionalism and made sure that our daughter gets the proper care and assessments done, we as a family have had many other visits to his rooms and are VERY happy to call him our HOME DOCTOR. ps, ladies at reception are also very helpful and friendly. Van die 1ste telefoon oproep tot die afspraak. Alles was werklik n goeie ervaring. Die personeel en ontvangsdames is baie vriendelik en hulpvaardig. Dr Jooste se kennis strek verder as enige ander mediese dokter wat ek al ontmoet het. Hy neem sy tyd om als te verduidelik en is ontsettend deeglik. Ek het my Miniscus in my knieg geskeur. Dr Jooste het my goeie advies gee asook goeie behandeling. Baie dankie aan die hele span vir n wonderlike ervaring by julle.

Dr Heunis was a most caring person, but since the practice changed, it's only about money and not humans anymore. I'd like to point out Dr de Lange. They are never available when we call and they don't call back. We had to revert to Dr Venter in the Strand for medical help. Still no one from Dr Jooste / de Lange that has even followed up with our calls.

We're temporarily in GB and we've visited Dr De Lange twice, once for our 2 year old and once for my husband, I cannot recommend her enough, particularly if you have kids. The receptionists are also very friendly and helpful. Easy to find, easy to park. A very easy and stress free experience!

Dr Jooste and his ladies are just amazing. You are always greeted with a smile when arriving. Dr Jooste gives you his full attention when seeing you. He is very thorough and explains to you what your illness/issue is. Amazing Dr giving you the best care you could want.

I can't thank Dr Jooste and his team enough for their urgent attention to my flu that had progressed to pneumonia. It's not possible to obtain such rapid care in the UK. I'm recovering well all thanks to this clinic.
