This is the best salon in Winnipeg! Prior to becoming a loyal client at Grace Hill, I would often book in at other salons that had last minute bookings, oftentimes that would be at the malls. Due to my overloaded work schedule, it is very tough to prebook anything over the phone in advance. Although the service at past salons were good, the hair colour goals I wanted were always just shy of average. I always just thought it was my "type" of hair being darker and a finer texture that it was impossible to reach a lighter ashy blonde color. I would be spending a lot of time and money to keep going back to the salons to get where I wanted to. It wasn't until I started to come to Grace Hill that I can honestly say that my hair is in the happiest state it's ever been in. I have reached my hair goal color. It took two sessions at Grace Hill to get there, something that I never dreamed could be possible. I really appreciate how they have an online booking system that is so easy to use. The owner is such a kind and remarkable entrepreneur, her dedication in her passion truly reflects in every aspect of the salon. From the moment you walk in you are greeted with warmth and joy, to the moment you leave, I assure, you are walking out with a big smile. Big thanks to Serena, sent me home with amazing products and gave home care tips for longer lasting hair. Every stylist there is amazing, teamwork really does make the dream work!

I went to Grace Hill with high expectations after numerous people had recommended them, spoke highly of them, their online presence and claim to specialize in blondes. I made the assumption I was in good hands, unfortunately, my experience was one in which I will not be returning to this salon and will not be recommending it to others. I went in for their “unicorn” service, I left with yellow blonde hair, even after I had specified I wanted to maintain my ashy tones (ie. not warm and gold). My ends were severely damaged, and I had chemical burns on my ears and neck. I called the salon and left a message for the owner but my call was never returned. I emailed the owner, to which she replied, offering nothing more than explanations and excuses with no attempts to resolve my concerns and disappointment. The owner took over a week to reply, and has failed to respond to any of my inquiries. I have been willing to schedule a time to meet her at the salon and show her my hair, however, she has failed to get back to me. I am disappointed with how I was treated, when you pay over $300 for a service you expect to be happy with the results. I am dismayed with the lack of customer service they have provided and certainly do not recommend this salon.

The salon itself is comprised of one small room. The staff there were nice and friendly when I was there. To give some background, I had long black Asian hair. I went there wanting to go blonde. I went there with the expectations that this would be costly given the amount of product they would have to use, and that there would be damage since they would have to use higher levels of bleach. When my hair was done, I looked in the mirror and noticed tha my hair was green. Somboun was overlooking this hairstylist, and she reassured me that this was just the lighting. I went home that evening, awoke the next day, and noticed my hair still had a moldy green hue to it. I called the salon and explained the state of my hair, and the receptionist spoke with the hairstylist and kindly said they had no available appointments for a while. So they expected me to walk around with green hair, and this wasn’t what I paid $400 for.

I have been going to Grace Hill Salon since it opened and have been seeing Somboun for the past 5 years! Somboun is one of the kindest people I have ever met and cares so much about her clients. She listens to all of my wishes and surpasses my expectations. I always leave feeling like I have my dream hair! She stays up to date with all of the current trends and can replicate any picture you show her. Her staff are all so welcoming and sweet and will take me in if Somboun is away, they all do such a wonderful job! I like to change up my hair a lot, I’ve been blonde, brunutte, ashy grey, had balayage, and 20” extensions. Whatever I leave with I’m so happy with the result, especially the fact that Somboun can keep my hair so soft and healthy through the change. The atmosphere of the salon is so warm, welcoming, and fun and I can’t wait to go back for my next appointment!

First of all, Grace Hill has a great atmosphere and all the girls are so much fun to chat with during appointments! Second, Amra is amazing. She took me from a terrible dark PERMANENT hair colour that someone else at a separate salon did, and over a few treatments gave me beautiful blonde hair that I get compliments about all the time. Also, the way she does her magic allows me to only highlight my hair once (twice max) per year and otherwise keep it up with the occasional colour gloss, which makes it extremely low maintenance! She’s also an amazing person overall and great to hang out with at appointments! I trust her to always ensure I leave happy with my hair and she has never let me down! I booked her for my wedding within the week of my proposal, couldn’t be happier with that decision.

Got charged a $15 Covid fee ( I don’t care about the cost (I was happy to pay this for SAFETY). I was told there Covid policy which made me feel at ease and comfortable going in for my hair appointment. However, when I went in for my appointment my hair stylist was not wearing a mask. There was also comments being made between the staff stating would not take a Covid vaccine if there is one. Grace hill being a professional business should respect public health and customers comfort levels. They should not give false representation that they are implementing Covid policy and masks , meanwhile when me as a client who has a family, walked in feeling safe , the whole time I felt uncomfortable! I was afraid I sat in the salon for 2+ hours , love the business guys but you lost a customer.

I have long term highlighted, blonde hair and have been to many salons across Winnipeg over my lifetime. I started going to Grace hill when it opened and it is my go to salon for so many reasons! The staff are so knowledgeable and down to earth, the salon itself is in a great location and is well maintained, and the services they provide are better thank i have ever received. I have received full colour, root touch up, highlights, balayage, extensions, you name it. I am always beyond thrilled with the results as Somboun, Amra, and Sylvia have all done my hair perfectly countless times. I can not recommend them enough. I have brought both my sisters and my mom to them as well! We will never go back. Best services in the city.

Somboun and her team are the friendliest and warmest gals I've ever come across in a salon. There is genuine comradery and a general sense that everyone is rooting for each other which should always be the case, but certainly is not in other environments. Somboun is a legend, and is at the top of her game, not only at hair, but at make up too. There's no better feeling than getting your hair done, and not having to worry about returning immediately because it has turned brassy or an undesired colour, and knowing you could go forever with minimal upkeep, which is something that I have never experienced in another salon. I've recommended Gracehill numerous times, and everyone has always been over the moon with their results.

I have been going to Grace Hill for 3 years. I highly recommend going here to all my friends. I have had two stylists, Tara (who moved to another location) and Dayna (current stylist). They have very talented ladies who work at the salon. Dayna is skilled, speaks up about what she thinks would look good on you, but also takes careful attention to what YOU want. I enjoy going to Dayna because I know she will give me a fresh style that it suits me. I even took the risk, first time meeting her, and changed my mind of going from a medium cut bob to pixie cut. Dayna has helped me unlock a confidence I never had and she is such a fun person to talk to.

I went to Grace Hill to get a color correction done from blue hair to blonde. My stylist Serena was so kind and gave me the perfect results! I liked that I can DM her on Instagram to arrange and discuss how the appointment will be like a month before coming in. 7-8 thorough hours later, you could barely tell I had faded teal hair. Everyone at Grace Hill are very professional and gas you up, making you feel cared for 100%. Would go again. Would suggest anyone and everyone who wants the exact results they’re looking for, especially to Serena.

Best. Salon. Ever. Dayna has been my stylist for just over a year now. I live 5 hours away from the city but she is more than worth the trip. She is so knowledgeable and amazing at what she does. Every time I see Dayna I feel like I’m catching up with an old friend. She has an amazing personality and is so easy to talk to. Grace Hill is definitely one of a kind. The girls are more like family to each other than co workers and are always helping each other out. Such a good vibe and always beautiful results. Couldn’t recommend more.

AMAZING salon! Great ambiance, friendly atmosphere and snacks. I have been seeing all the girls for years, Somboun, Amra, Ashley, Gagan, Sylvia, Serena, Ainsley, Alyssia, Courtney and DAYNA! They have a great team of well educated ladies who do the best blondes in the city. They also do men's cuts, kids cuts and are really good at doing brunette hair as well. Getting my hair done has honestly become like self-care, every time I book I'm so excited to go in. The staff is friendly and the shop gives off the best vibes/atmosphere. Serena is more than just a hair stylist, she's so easy to talk to and makes sure you get not only what you want but also what will be best in the long run for your budget, style and upkeep (and stopped me from getting a few haircuts I knew I'd regret). Amra is the best stylist I’ve ever had! She started doing my hair over a year ago when it was dyed red from a previous stylist. Since going to see Amra, we’ve been on an hair adventure, taking me blonde, brunette and now going back to red! I've seen Gagan twice here and she is absolutely amazing! The first time was for a blonde balayage - she got such a great color in my dark Asian hair and the cut suit me so well. Yesterday I saw her because my hair was so grown out and it was time for a change. She transformed my hair to a darker lob (she cut maybe 15 inches off) and I love it so much! I did not feel safe getting my hair done here. It is a extremely small awkward space. They are not following proper Covid guidelines but will charge you a really high fee at the end. There is no social distancing whatsoever and I caught staff taking off their mask for pictures with the customer. Stay away! I suggest a proper establishment such as Aevi Salon. --Kim

I was a walk in and they were pretty busy so I thought I wouldn’t get in but one of the stylists, Dayna Wood, was super lovely and squeezed me into her busy schedule. Best salon I've been to. Courtney is amazing with cut and colour...managed to save my awful dye job and cut all in one day a few summers ago. I'm not in Winnipeg enough to go back, but the few times i go im only ever happy.

Dayna is the best stylist ! She coloured my hair a rich chocolate brown and I’m sooooo happy with it. She’s so good with colours and getting you exactly what you’re looking for ! My absolute favourite hair and stylist !

Owner has no work ethic, very unprofessional. Hires a bunch of young people who are just starting out and have no idea how to cut hair. Avoid at all cost..prices do not match expertise.
