Regarding the recent scathing reports about the Grace ER in the Winnipeg Free Press and on local news stations: I was a nurse that at one time was employed there. They like to blame the province for all their woes but there are other mitigating factors that contribute to the mess at the Grace Hospital. Poor leadership. I never heard a word of encouragement or gratefulness from the two managers. Staff are routinely assaulted by patients and no one cares. Management does not follow-up or express any concern or compassion. The charge nurses (with the exception of three) are arrogant, lazy, and condescending. They are unable to bring out the best in their teammates and their egos are all they care about. Some of them are unbelievably ignorant and rude to other nurses. Lateral violence and hostility is alive and well. Nurses frequently denigrate and bully each other. Most of the HCAs are great but there are a handful who consistently disrespect the nurses and patients and nothing is done about it. If one speaks up with concerns you can best believe you will become a target. Where is the CEO? Where is the CNO? Where is the Union? The ombudsman? Client Relations - All hidden in their offices. Human Resources needs a complete overhaul. They are completely ignorant about the challenges that staff face in the ER. They operate in a bubble. They have no qualms about denigrating a nurse and are incapable of retaining staff (many nurses have quit and they do nothing to entice them to stay.) They lack the foresight and skills necessary to understand the mental and physical distress nurses are experiencing. They don’t care if they ruin lives. They kick them when they are down. Reprehensible. They are largely funded by taxpayer’s dollars yet they don’t seem to care that they spend those dollars on extensively training nurses then losing them due to their lack of empathy and understanding. Working there made me physically ill and depressed. My self-esteem and confidence were crushed. I quit nursing forever. A kind word would have meant so much. One becomes weary with daily hypocrisy , cruelties, and unkindnesses.I contemplated suicide several times. I really cannot understand how they live with themselves. I feel defeated, exhausted, and broken. The Grace is never going to get better if they don’t address the above-mentioned problems. Sadly, I fear there is little hope.

If I could give zero stars I would. I went to the ER March 18, 2021 around 5am. I have irritable bowel disease and every now and then I get a terrible flare up. I was in extreme pain such induced vomiting. I was worried I had a bowel obstruction. Little to no empathy or care was shown by any of the nurses. When I arrived there was no one else in the waiting room. I was hysterical, crying due to pain, hard time breathing, vomiting. Last time this happened I was given an IV with fluids, a pink lady concoction and buscopan almoat immediately. I sat in pain crying and vomiting for about 1 hour when the triage nurse finally triaged me. She told me to calm down and sit up straight or she wouldn't be able to get my vitals. Im like lady I am in extreme pain, if I could make this stop I would. I told her that last time this happened I was given a medicine called pink lady and it helped with the pain.. She was all snooty and said pink lady is to freeze the esophagus not for bowels. I said well last time it helped my digestive system almost immediately. Her level of care or empathy was terrible. I had fallen on the floor and one other nurse brought me a wheel chair because my pain was so terrible. This triage nurse didn't offer to wheel me back to the waiting room or when she called my name I had to wheel myself over. I will never go back to this hospital for an emergency. Being from a different province I am shocked by the level of care at the Grace Hospital. When we moved here my neighbor said the Grace Hospital is where people fo to die and to avoid it at all cost. Most places would have me in for an x-ray ultrasound or CT scan ASAP to avoid a bowel rupture and determine the cause of pain. Luckily my husband was able to find my prescription for buscopan and came to pick me up after I waited almost 2 hours in excruciating pain. I always feel better laying down and there was no place to lay down at the hospital. I went home and when my bowels ever flare up again I will NEVER go back here. Next time I might not be so lucky and may end up septic with a bowel rupture and either die or have to have emergency surgery and a poop bag. Stay clear of this place if you can.

Absolute horrible care. My father in law is once again discharged '2nd time' without homecare set up. Nor any confirmation -2 days now n pending! My father in law lives on his own (personal care home pending) has had 4 strokes in the past, has Diabetes t2, HTN, obese, could not do any ADLs (activity daily living) for himself and they do the same discharge style on to him once again this second time around! First admit was due to stroke- He called us in the middle of the night to call an ambulance for him- admit to Grace x1- They promised homecare setup post discharge yet it took them a whole month until XMAS day - that he crashed in our house during dinner! He was then rushed via ambulance to Grace hospital once again- this 2nd time was due to -as diagnosed, cellulitis! (Hence no one was around i.e. homecare- to watch over him for a whole month!). I work as an RN in er emerg at HSC and I've seen seen the 'horrible- nurse family complainer' once in a while in my 10 year experience. I hate having to deal with them im sorry- but this im worrisome with GH's decision for discharge! Hence we were patient with the 'whole month' that home care off of Grace Hospital did not get back to my father in law- we were 'understanding' with their MIX UP. BUT this second time without one setup boggles my mind! I have filed a complaint with patient relations and WRHA. I hope someone gets stuff straight and DO NOT WISH THIS onto anyone of your loved ones to happen to them- VERY UNSAFE diacharge I apologise to 'those who ARE NOT INVOLVED' ... My father in law was discharged from the 3rd floor ?north wing Grace hospital february 7th at 240pm. NO home care contact yet n counting. Its hard to attend to someone i.e. 5am call from him today that his Foley catheter bag leaked all over his bed and he is confused out of his mind trying to explain it to my flustered husband.

We needbto be better!! Okay so i have to make a post about The GRACE HOSPITAL and its employees, which is tough to do atm because of this Pneumonia...but, I am disgusted in what I saw there today and how these healthcare "professionals" treated members from our community seeking care for medical concerns. They weren't as bad when speaking to me, but i witnessed this condecending, rude, inhumane treatment towards the majority of patients in the waiting room, who were nothing but polite to staff just to have the Grace Hospital employees speak to them so loudly, rude with an attitude that was to make people know that they are "better" than you, and then turn around and snicker and make jokes about the patients, which I also heard them do behind closed doors when I was finally being seen after 10 hours of waiting. People were cut down to size for simply asking a question. I saw zero communication skills from the staff members in the emergency room. Shame on them. If you know someone who was working in the ER room today/tonight tell them "shame on your co-workers and I hope you weren't a part of this." I have never witnessed such unprofessionalism at this level in a hospital in my entire life. If i have the strength tomorrow i may try and find out the best way for file a complaint is on behalf of the entire waiting room. People gotta be better than this, gotta be better...

If I hadnt called a doctor that I know telling him of my condition and him insisting on me finding a ride to the hospital to see him , i would have never gone there They confirmed what I already knew when my sister died there 2 years ago. Although i only waited 4 hours in pain and with a roaring fever, once they brought me inside emergency all hell broke loose. Insensitive doesnt come close to describe the nurses. And unfortunately because I am without family I had to bring my kids. They put us in the room meant for criminals. Cuff bars in the walls and a stretcher. Literally the ONLY things in the room. They wouldnt even get me a warm blanket or pillow. The kids grew anxious and so did I. So they moved me to a TV room in the hall!! No bed, nothing to lay on. A chair. I was happy for my kids but I was still suffering. The nurses were awful. They jabbed my arm with the IV and were not ar all sensitive of my fear of needles. They were short with me and made empty promises of food and water which I finally recieved after 11 hours. They nurse that discharged me was very kind. Ironic as I'm on my way out the door. Dont go there. I gave it one star because the dr I had originally called continually checked on me and made requests on my behalf. It is unfortunate he wasnt able to treat me because of some new computer system they have. But he did his best.

The staff is really friendly if nothing else but God help you if you need to use the rest room and aren't hooked up to a catheter. I needed my IV unhooked so as to walk to a toilet and waited two and a half hours for that to happen. The nurses don't answer the call button, that only brings a guy who can't do a thing but bring you a jug to urinate in or a cup of water if you're lucky, but he can also get the nurse for you unless his shift ending or break are just around the corner, then you can just go screw. Wait times are worse than Seven Oaks, during the day even with a less than full waiting room and I hate it so much I'd almost rather suffer at home than come here for treatment. I was given so much of a drug that was only meant to relax me before an endoscopy that I lost consciousness and woke up back up in my room not knowing what hospital I was at. One in five are so bad at administering IV's that I felt like I could do it better. I was "scheduled" for a procedure (the endoscopy) only to find out later to find out they can't schedule this because transport (it would be faster to walk but this isn't an option) just gets there when they get there so don't hold your breath. I would almost, ALMOST go back if I were dying but Seven Oaks is closer to where I live and even a late night skeleton crew moves faster.

My husband spent time in this hospital (lac of) well because you call this a hospital. This place is filthy (I have pictures to prove), the patient rooms are not cleaned, my husband was moved from aria in emergency to another with out cleaning it but they wouldn't let me see him because I would spread germs. The care he received was not care at all but just a bed to lay in with the hope he would die. Dr. Macek should not be aloud to practice medicine on a stuffed animal let alone a person. Dr Macek was my husband’s Dr while in hospital. He has got the worse Dr ever. When asked about my husband care all he would say what do you want me to do, then I asked him if he was just waiting for him to die, he stated that is all he is doing, then I stated I wanted to transfer my husband out of that hospital he gave for and answer I wish you would. When I asked him for a list of all the meds my husband was on, he was very condescending and stated "I don't know what you want it for you won’t know what to do with it. They sent my husband home while in raspatory. So anyone out there reading this please don't bring your loved one to this place unless you want them to die. THIS HOSPITAL SHOULD BE CLOSED NEVER TO BE REOPEN AGAIN.

The wait in the emergency room is unbelievable after 6 to 8 hrs then you will be seen. Well for non extreme pain is ok like my husband, the dr and nurses treated him very well! Unfortunately for my daughter she was in so much pain and I tried to go this guy who was on the other end of the reception checking blood pressure and all, he was extremely rude and did not even care. When I told him my daughter was in so much pain and sitting on the floor of the toilet and also vomiting, and if there was anything to be done just to help the pain, his replied was! well you have to wait and go back to your sit with his dirty look. Very rude emergency office staff are not trained well for their job. Unprofessional! But the good thing was the Dr and the Nurses were so kind only to say sorry for the long wait when they found out how much pain she had because of the inflamed appendix. This kind of treatment by uneducated, unprofessional who doesn't serve the community well! working in the emergency, reception and front desk needs to be inspected very well as this is their first impression on how they show empathy to people who need help in time of pain.

Took my baby there yesterday, she isn't even two years old! Wanted to get her checked for a fever.... they wouldn't even look at her nothing just kept saying the nurse won't see your child because of her fever and kept going on about a CT scan.... didn't know you needed one for a fever.... that's a new one on me! I just needed my child to be looked at.... but I went to another clinic up the street and my child was good and no fever and her eyes, nose, ears, throat and chest were good and clear! :) they didn't even understand why my child was not looked at, at the grace and gave me a number to call to report it! Because the nurses and doctors at the other place were shocked they denied a BABY! and even the doctor who did see us said he's the one who has to refer us to children's if she needed to go there and was actually happy I went to the walk in because I wasn't wasting others importance at the real hospital for a fever! That's why we have walk ins! ... But I'm going to push it with the doctors and nurses at the grace now..... my poor child all because they were probably wanting to get off early! I hope you were so full after I left!

Dealing with abusive doctors trying to give me pills that don't do anything good, as they pull me off the only med holding me together. This is the worst psychiatric ward in the city. It is unsanitary, the doctor barely sees you. It took me 20 days before allowed a breath of fresh air. I suffer from PTSD, and this place doesn't respect that. They don't care that I told them their adding to my stress. I said going to have a spaz attack if they keep doing as is, and they didn't care. They don't care . the food sucks it is barely edible, I found a literal pebble in my veal.... Gross environment. I'd give it a 1 out of five, because there are a few nurses who are somewhat friendly. There are other workers who just look like they hate their job. BTW the literature is very graphic, very explicit. They have movies like, "The haunting" There are so many wrong things happening in this building I'd never recommend the grace.

I was surprised at so many critical reviews, primarily of treatment by staff. I had Covid and was brought to the hospital by EMS - Ambulance Transport. I was wheeled in and parked in a corridor. The Paramedic kept me informed that they were searching for a bed. A female staff member asked me for my medical coverage cards. Copied and returned. That was the only contact entering and leaving that dealt with payment. As an American, I was amazed. Paperwork is the name of American medical service. I did receive a bill today, already paid the EMS bill several weeks ago. I did end up in an emergency room bed, sharing the space with an elderly lady. The staff were excellent as was the treatment. My only complaint, minor really, was that the bill requires calling and requesting to pay. Seems strange to me that their system is not more user friendly, .i.e., on-line credit card payment. Love the Canadians.

  • ChrisCrond “Yeah him”

The staff are unbelievably rude and treat all the patients with complete disrespect in highly disgusting ways to watch. I went in for heart problems, my EKG and blood work was fine, and the doctor discharged me without any discussion and told me to see a doctor the next day... After waiting 8 hours in pain. To make things worse, the construction makes many areas not wheelchair accessible, and I watched people for hours get refused a room because they could not walk. You know, at a hospital... They also are using the emergency lobby as an entry/exit for patients on gurney's/coding/etc. It's sure great that the shut down of the other emergency hospitals somehow caused this one to turn horrible also. This is your tax dollars at work... or, more accurately, the lack of tax funding in our health care, even after everything that's gone on these past few years...

  • Asmr cousins Cuz

They lost my mother-in-law!!! We received a call from Grace Hospital telling us that she was going to be discharged, at midnight!!! She’s over 75 years old, and needs an interpreter. We drove there to pick her up and they told us that she was picked up already!!! By who!!! We called the medical services they said they supposedly called, they never heard of her or received any call from Grace Hospital. They kept trying to convince us that she got picked up, very arrogant and condescending. After over an hour of frantically trying to find her, someone escorted me inside and we found her still there. This was very emotionally draining!!! They even tried telling us that she was transferred to Misericordia hospital, they never heard of her there too.

  • jass behl

I was admitted into the hospital in an emergency basis. First they did not provide me any treatment instead of it they inserted needles in my body which was of no use. My whole arm is now swollen. I can't lift my arm a lil bit too. There is an injury in my finger which i got from there. The staff there is not at all cooperative. I was screaming since i was admitted in the hospital for a glass of water. But they did not provide me a drop of water till i was discharged from the hospital. Overall my experience was worst. The staff and doctors just look at their own convenience. They do not listen to what the patient is saying or through which the patient is going. If there will be an option of zero star giving, i would love to do that

  • Bill Pchajek

I gave 5 stars beacuse there are so many hard working staff that literally saved my life. It only takes one person to have a bad experience. I came in with DKA (as many know DKA affects cognitive function) my memories from sitting in the waiting room in the ER are a little vague but I remember laying on the floor. I was vomiting and it had taken me to long already to get to the ER. Once I got in to see a doctor he commented I shouldn't have been in the waiting room for over 4 hours. Leaving me sitting in a waiting room for 4 hours when triage knew I had very high blood sugar likely pushed me deeper into DKA and literally could have pushed me into a diabetic coma or even death. I believe there triage process should be improved.

Went to Er to have then lòok at a cast that was put on the week before on my arm and wrist. This was because cast was tight and arm and hand were hot. Immediately the Male nurse cut the cast off and I waited for New one to be put on. Was a 10 hour wait and that was fine. Others needed care. I had a new one on and then they had to try and and cut off a titanium ring. Very difficult for them. They got it off with a grinder. They were very careful and patience..I want to say thank you so much for the care and kindness that was given me. Even though I was there for 12 hours I was happy to see sick people go before. Yes, all doctors were very busy as well as nurses.. koodos to all. And thank you Barbara Mager

I have Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome an illness caused by chronic Marijuana use that leads to violent vomiting, weight loss , dehydration among many other things. i was in the worst shape of my life and hadn’t eaten in 2 weeks and couldn’t even hold down water i was so dehydrated and lost 90 pounds in 4 months . they refused treatment and i believe it’s because i had a drug related issue. i asked for a patient advocate and was refused. i wasn’t fed or given any meds or anything to eat for over 24 hours. and i would’ve been sent home if i hadn’t insisted on staying due to how poor my mental state was at the time. they discharged me atleast 7 times before i was ever given proper treatment

I do not always take the time to do a review but felt this was very necessary. I currently had knee replacement surgery at the Grace Hospital and would like to thank the many amazing and beautiful staff members that took such good care of me. To my surgeon Dr. Ames, nurses, Physiotherapist and the aides, I was very blessed to be under their care. The kindness and professionalism that was shown was second to none. We should be very proud of our health system and take the time to give thanks for what they all do especially in this very difficult time. I am truly grateful to each of for all that you had done while I was in recovery. May you be safe and protected as you serve as you do.

I want to thank staff of Grace Hospital for saving my life. At the beginning of May I came on Sunday morning to emergency room to see a doctor and ended up having an emergency surgery as my appendix burst. I cannot thank enough all doctors, nurses and HCAs who were helping me. Especially I would like to thank Dr. Tim Matsubara for his professionalism!!! Doctor also was very helpful and attentive during my follow up appointment. I also want to mention the nurse by name Hazel and two HCAs Rhonda and Edward from the 4th west unit. They are amazing professionals with big hearts. They made my hospital experience less stressful and smooth. I felt comfortable and in good hands.

  • Penny Kenney

Dr. Smith was very caring and thoughtful with taking care of my “Wasband”. My problem was with the nurse scolding me for taking him to Emergency when she thought that I should have gone thru his family physician. The triage nurse also didn’t agree with our choice to go to the Emergency Room when I thought he was having mini strokes…. This was Friday May 13… triage in the morning with a male nurse and the scolding nurse was a young female. As it turned out he may have a brain bleed and has blocked arteries in his neck. I may not be a trained in medicine but I know when something is wrong. Lucky I stuck to my guns and didn’t leave.

I broke my elbow in March of this year 2021 and received immediate care, with an X-ray and seeing the surgeon and having a cast on I was out of there in a hour and a half and on my way home I had excellent service staff were friendly and very helpful. I also broke my left hip and fractured my femur I had been brought there by ambulance from the Victoria hospital had surgery immediately. I was there for a month and had excellent care so I thank you for the excellent care for the two times I had been there I was taken back to the Victoria for another month of rehab from both hospitals I could not have been better looked after

  • Huong Nguyen

I was at this place just 10 mins ago. I came to see my 8 months old niece, she got a really high fever. So we came to see her. But the two girls who worked at that ship at emegency section ( Friday night, July17) they talked to us like yelling at us, we felt like there were discrimination. While they only needed an explanation that we couldn’t come because there can be only one get in with the patient. We understand the rule, but i was just super mad because of their attitude. Super super rude. And while we came, they were talking, joking, playing laptop and texting,.... i can see how unprofessional and non- respectful.

For Dr. Caroline Scott- My mother was admitted last week into Scarborough Grace hospital for “minexes” tear in the back of her knee. Initially the hospital wanted to discharge her despite her pain. Then a doctor in the ER called Dr. Scott and she accepted to see my moms knee. Long story short she was kept there and Dr. Scott operated in my mom last night out of humanity, compassion and care. She is phenomenal, a true example of a physician who cares for patients in need. She also has a great assistant, Arthy, who is super kind as well. Thank you Dr. Scott and Arthy for collaborating and pushing through for my mother.

  • Scott Brandson

Unfortunately, my dad was in the hospital for 23 days, on the 21st day we got a call from a nurse, not the doctor, updating us. We requested a call 20 of those 23 days. At time 2 to 3 times in a day we requested a call, they had no intention of telling us what was happening to him, they sent him home for a second time with the wrong medication. This is borderline malpractice from this place. When visiting, conveniently the nurse or doctor in charge of him was "unavailable". Absolutely unacceptable... No other hospital in Winnipeg has ignored pleas from a family to get ANY kind of information.

  • Jason Crook

I could have died or lost my kidney function last visit if I couldnt have spelled out that it would end badly and very publicly if that happened. Your Marfans syndrome expert spelled out pretty well what I've known all along was likely the case. Im getting all the research done that I said I would. Keep playing games. If I die, its all being disseminated for you to answer to. Spelled out with aching questions that I never had the chance to see answered by a Court. Getting drunk and whining about it amongst your brethren isn't going to make the difference you've grown accustomed to.

  • pervertedbill85

A couple years ago I brought my uncle to this hospital to have kidney stones removed. He has dementia, and the surgery left him in a state of heightened confusion. The nurse who ran the ward that my uncle stayed on acted so incredibly inconvenienced whenever he needed anything. It was disgusting. Today I brought my brother to the emergency room because he was experiencing INTERNAL BLEEDING. The doctor he saw called him a LIAR and REFUSED to investigate. He sent my brother home. Bring your loved ones to this hospital if you want them to be neglected. The name is a complete farce.

I was driving from Bc to Qc when I started to have symptoms of appendicitis. I looked at some google reviews when I was in Brandon Mb, and decided to drive two more hours to get to Grace Hospital. Best decision ever made! Even though an appendectomy is not remotely close from enjoyable, the entirety of the medical team was nice, polite, competent and very patient oriented. I got in ER at 8am on a Sunday. Went through a bunch of tests (blood, scan, urine, etc.), received the diagnostic, then a surgery at 6pm and was allowed to leave 24 hours after. Thanks again for everything!!!

  • Naomi Ducharme

The nurses were so reassuring and calming. The Dr was great and helped me with my issue. I had to travel over 7 hours to find an answer the Northen Health Region couldn't give me. So far my issue is starting resolve but not completely yet. Still working on my issue. Check in clerk was absolutely reassuring as well and gave me pointers and I really appreciated it. One of the Nurses I recognized that was a community member from my home town and it was so nice to see her succeed and not be stuck in our small home town where we have little to no jobs. Way to go!

  • Tangles

The waiting room is gross, always has litter. The bathroom in the waiting room was covered in blood. The front desk nurses are either incredibly sweet (shout out to these amazing ladies) while others couldn't care less about getting off their a**es to bring me a puke bucket... and the doctor who basically treated me like i waisted his time today. Been here on more than one occasion (because its the closest to my home) and it's always awful. You get one star because of the amazing nurses that are PROBABLY holding the entire place together.

  • Harman Khaira

Have a pre-existing heart condition and was experiencing intense chest pain. Both the WRHA and the Grace's own website recommend going into emergency for chest pain. I went in and the receptionist didn't even let me finish explaining myself before they told me that I should have just gone to a walk-in. A walk-in. Ignoring my heart condition or their own signs in the lobby that say to report chest pain right away to the triage nurse, it was 6AM and there are obviously no walk-ins open. What an awful and cold hearted person.

  • Leigh Purpur

I am ashamed of The Grace Endoscopy dept. My son went there for a second opinion and what a huge difference from Selkirk General to Grace ..the male HCA had him up and walking with 20 of his double procedure ..my son went in at 8:30 and we were called foe pick up at 8:56yikes he did t even help him the washroom and my son was quiet out of it ..puked all the home we had to keep stopping for him to get sick..wow Grace Hosp..Bing bang bong make that $$$ wow disgusting care you should be ashamed HCA in that department

  • Doreen Lytle

Had my father in emergency last night for 7 hours before taking him home he arrived by ambulance only to be taken to the waiting room, I spoke to a nurse very nicely about how much longer it may be as several other patients went ahead that were there shorter time only to get told to calm down I was in no way rude and we had been told for 3 hours he would be next to get a bed, I took him back home struggling to help him walk when is our government going to invest money back to health care this is beyond rediculous

  • Pamela

I felt so unwelcome here Wasn’t ‘t allowed to get water for my husband who was a patient. There were no restrictions put in place by the doctor, the nurses just barred access to the water cooler and the ice machine. When aides came todo something they would tell me to leave because it was too crowded Really rude and made me cry everyday I was there. HUsband was left in a dirty diaper and developed sores and a rash. I know we don’t get a choice here in Manitoba, but avoid the grace if you can

  • Keineahnung L

the ER triage lady who is a little bit fat and wearing glasses is killing people.when we come with ambulance my father is getting heart attack but this lady put my father out of waiting hall for 8hours and let’s us go.In next day we have to go ER again because it is heart attack.the doctor ask me :as a son Why were you holding up this long to hospital you should call911 because it is heart attack. Oh What should I say, this hospital ER have this unprofessional triage is just joke.

I spent 5 days in Grace Hospital with emergency surgery just before Christmas. As a former health care worker for 30 yrs in the city's 2nd largest hospital, this hospital was amazing. I left my job because of poor management and extremely unhappy people. Every person that cared for me during my stay was so kind. From the busy nurses in Emergency to the ones on the ward. Everyone was smiling and happy. Thank you all for making an unpleasant time bearable. 4 South huge kudos xx

  • Gerald Hildabrand

Came here after waiting Over an hour in a disgusting outdated waiting room at the Miseracordia. I was shocked at how clean these facilities were and more importantly how incredible the staff were. Their bedside manor was top notch. We were treated with respect and compassion and I feel very grateful for the staff here. I wish I could do more to thank them other then leave this review. The nurses were attentive and genuinely concerned. Great people with big hearts.

Suddenly, my body stopped to accept any foods even water. I lost 22 pounds for 2 weeks. I had pain on the stomach so I went to Grace hospital emergency. Doctors, nurses, staffs are professional. The waiting time was the same as I checked on web site. Doctors are very knowledgeable and skillful. They found my sickness that I've been suffering over 10 years! I was transfered to another hospital for treatments quickly. I highly recommend Grace hospital.

  • Kayla Forrester

Emergency department was quick to get me in. Short wait time and very thorough. The staff were super friendly and helpful! The doctors were very knowledgeable and did a great job with my surgery! I was very pleased with the overall quality of my stay here! Special thanks to my nurse, Candace, and student nurse, Amber, who kept me as comfortable as possible! Hope I don't have to go back to a hospital any time soon, but if I do, it'll be Grace!

I went to Emergency at Grace Hospital and was treated with kindness and professionalism from every person that helped me - the people that gave me a mask, the woman that registered me, triage, the nurse practitioner (Kate, you’re amazing!), the doctor, and lastly the woman that performed my ultrasound. Yes, it was a lengthy wait and a long day but that’s the system. Thank you for all that you do and the compassion that you show.

  • Triple Threat

Mediocre service. Not the best and not the worst. Disappointed by ultrasound department. Not only missed my vein, but didn’t do test with dye! Needed to wait months to be reschedule elsewhere. Confused by this because the guy who does it during days has been efficient in the past, but not this time. Hoping department manager can oversee this going forward. People's health are at stake here and mistakes aren’t acceptable.

  • Abbey Doiron

Had to take my mom there for a breathing problem, no one was in the waiting room, proceeded to get yelled at by a nurse there for no reason and THREE HOURS LATER walked out and went some where else because all we did was sit there, the doctors and nurses were gossiping and making FUN of other PATIENTS!!! While my mom couldn’t breath, HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL and I beg you that if u need help, don’t go to the grace hospital.

  • shelby ford

broke my ankle walking on ice like a champ saturday morning. waited a lot, which i expected; i mean, im 22, all ive got is a broken ankle, i can wait. the nurses were all lovely, the er doctors were great, and they managed to get me in for surgery way quicker than i expected!! everything went smoothly, and everyone working up in the recovery ward was wonderful too. thanks everybody, im recovering well at home

  • Will Krywonizka

I would leave zero stars if possible. I went to the emergency room with extreme difficulty breathing. I was told to wait and they wanted to get my info before they would even provide me with oxygen so I could breathe. The overnight triage nurse was the rudest nurse I have ever encountered. I explained to her that I suffer from panic disorder and was hyperventilating from a panic attack. ...she told me to "calm down".

  • Rosemary Cosentino

Was rushed to Grace on Aug 3. I'm from Toronto. Was all alone at Grace. Had to have emergency appendicitis surgery. The staff were great. They were caring, professional. They made me feel relaxed. Being that i was alone. I was impressed by the service, the staff, the hospital stay. Thank you Grace emergency department, OR team, CT scan team, nurses on 4th. Thank you. Thank you. You guys are amazing. Thank you.

  • JIm Prefontaine

Went into the Grace this week end and was well treated . I realize there is always a wait period and it was not that long . I think it is suppose to work who ever is the sickest goes first . Pretty sure with me throwing up and to tired to walk, high blood pressure soaring and high blood sugar I was chosen for my condition . Thanks to all the staff at the grace for every thing they do ! From my family to yours

  • Gurwinder Singh

I don’t know who to blame government healthcare department but this system is so evil people are dying with pian wait time in emergency is extremely high for god sake please do something about it may god save us from this evil place waited for 8 hours in pain left without treatment paid 9$ parking fees just to feel pain in waiting area without food and water I don’t know where is the taxpayers money is going

  • Bernard Lemanski

I was just at the hospital yesterday and got out this afternoon, all I can say it is a class hospital, and the staff are very polite even during this struggle with the Covid, they look after your really well when needed but they are definitely short staffed. What I can’t believe is how many nurses and doctors are working double shifts, some are working 16 hour shifts. Stay Safe and Strong Frontline workers

  • Jerry Holowaty

Awesome being there, very very well looked after and cared for, very professional great staff, food was great too.. best quiche I've ever had ( how did they do that?? and my roomie agreed, were hoping could stay longer just for the food! ), really can't say enough good things, real pro's, personable and friendly too (yes, even some friendly fun was had). Well done and my hearty thanks to everyone there.

  • Lacey Gillespie

Worst experience, after going here with symptoms of appendicitis and waiting three hours in the waiting room with them putting symptomatic people in waiting room. four hours waiting for a CT scan that they messed up on sending to the CT staff. Not giving any pain reliever or a blanket. Also ignoring my IV machine malfunctioning. If you have a choice to go to another hospital ,go to another hospital.

  • Tyler Teather

Worst hospital I have ever been to! For starters the staff is super mean and I don’t think they actually care about a persons well being.I had severe back pain and all they did was give some T3’s and tell me to wait?! I described the pain as a 10/10 but that didn’t seem to matter for the doctors only there for a pay check. Also the chairs and everything in the ER never get sanitized.

  • Susan Sivonen

If your tense about MRI's don't be the staff in the imaging dept. Are exceptional!! I use to take drugs before I went and now I don't. They put a cool cloth over your eyes that helps you relax and will ask you several times if your doing ok. You feel so relaxed don't be Surprised if you fall asleep!!+ I AM NOT KIDDING!!! Now if I have to get an MRI I ALWAYS ASK FOR GRACE HOSPITAL.

  • Ray Lohrenz

Truly disgusted by lack of empathy and care in emergency waiting room. Nurses seem to revel in their ability to ignore patience and say it’s due to covid policy. I pray that my loved one will be ok. Prayer seems to be only option as this bastion of modern science is leaving her alone for hours and hours with no food no water no visitors and no help, despite her being very ill.

  • Wendy Brothers

Cannot describe how horrible the Emergency is/was when we had to take my Father in last week. Sloppy service, insensitive staff, long waiting for a possibly dying man. Was told I was being confrontational when I asked for assistance and received none. Totally different story once he was moved to the 3rd floor wards; extremely caring, friendly and doing their very best to help.

  • Jeffery Bernardin

The Doctor was excellent but the rest of the staff was so unprofessional. Its almost like they were new...made so many trips and came back with nothing The kicker was when the nurse was about to give my pain medication but decided to take a phone while she had the syringe in her hands I think the patient in pain should be priority Tge person on the phone can wait

  • Kim

I understand nurses are overworked, but when someone comes in for an emergency....then they should atleast be treated with respect. Speaking gruffly to sick patients doesn't help anyone. I will not be going to this ER in the future, but the way they treat patients, they probably won't much care. Very sad state a little compassion and patience goes a long way .

  • Kathy Johnsen

I want to thank all the staff in the emergency department. I was in there from Sunday until Tuesday and they were all fantastic. Even though it was extremely busy and the nurses are so short staffed they treated me like I truly mattered. I also want to thank my ambulance guys, Bill and Mathew ( sorry if my spelling is wrong) for treating me with such care.

  • Jen M

Why employ self-glorified receptionists if they can't be bothered with to do their jobs and answer the phone?!? Namely nuclear medicine. I have been calling all morning and NOT ONCE, did they answer the phone!! What are they doing? Socializing, having numerous breaks and having fun at the tax payers expense?!?

  • Saneh Sandhu

Chelsea was above and beyond. I was there for my kidney stones. I was in pain, she was very kind was checking up on me every hour not only me but every other patient as well. I went to emergency room for my pain, she really helped me through out all the process and have genuine advise to me what to do next.

  • Restless Gypsy

My dad just died there, the staff was completely clueless and he was an afterthought, like oh he’s gone.. pull the curtain and forget about him. I couldn’t even have a private moment to say goodbye as he was in a room with some loud mouth asian woman yelling loudly into her phone This place is a joke.

  • J C

I’m glad I went to this ER because the wait was shorter. I ended up needing emergency surgery. I am super happy with the care I received. All the staff I encountered were very nice and caring. Thank you for the hard work you all do, especially in the current state of our healthcare.

  • Donna Dunn

my son has been brought by ambulance to Grace Emerg 6 times in past year 1 1/2 as recent as Oct 25/17. Doctor's and nurses have been wonderful, caring - I thank the Lord for the paramedics , fire men , Dr'sand nurses that have all treated him and myself with respect and dignity.

  • Kenneth Hodge

Big thank you to Dawn McDonald, she was able to find the missing items a family member was brought into the hospital with. I would like to thank her for being professional caring and able to solve our issue, and of course being able to courier the belongings to our front door.

  • Carly Elise

Horrible service. Sister in law has been here battling cancer and when her brother called looking for her they said she's not there and hung up. We called back and told them she's a cancer patient and has been there for quite some time and they did the same exact same thing.

  • Melody

The hospital has a huge parking area, one at the front and at the back of the hospital. Plus, you can also park along the streets. Just make sure you check and follow all the street signs. There's Tim Hortons located inside the hospital and cafeteria for staff and visitors.

  • Steven Frederick Baljkas

I had to wait a few hours in ER for my cat scan but the environment was clean and quiet, and the nursing staff were courteous and efficient. The doctor whom I finally saw was similarly kind and very professional. I was very impressed with the whole experience at the Grace.

  • Silvia

Amazing care received from nurses and doctors and orderlys in emergency. Thank you Nurse Karen and pharmacist Heather for all your patience. Even the cleaning lady was kind and helpful. The only negative was the 5 hr wait to be seen. Par for the course these days, I guess.

  • Heidi Korte

I felt extremely let down by our healthcare system because of my experience at this hospital. I was turned away because my condition wasn't deemed urgent enough when in fact it was urgent to me. There were others with sniffles and sprained ankles that were being admitted.

  • TeeCarts

Horrendous staff. Did not care about our problems and just had nothing but attitude problems. I get it is a high stress environment, but when dealing with life and death for some, have a little empathy. Will never go there again. Especially if my life depended on it.

  • Ken Krueger

Spent 3 days at the grace after my second total knee replacement surgery. As in my first experience with my previous knee replacement, the staff at the grace were wonderful in all respects. I have nothing but good things to say about this hospital and its staff.

  • Alexander Williams

The staff were fantastic. Keep in mind that with all the emergency rooms around Winnipeg being shut down if you require urgent care,go to an urgent care facility. Five stars wpildnhave appendix removed again. 8 hours from arrival to going under the knife.

  • Rob Porter

In for Hip Replacement. From the first moment I walked In till I was wheeled out, I was treated with kindnes and total respect From the Security Guard, all the Nurses, and Doctor Ames and his Surgical Team. Thank you everyone for the great job. …

  • Michelle Munn

My mom went to Grace beginning of October for a fractured femur. She got her surgery quickly. And the staff, nurses and doctors were amazing everytime I called which was often as I live out of Winnipeg. Can't say enjoy positive things about the grace!!!

  • Ruth Semotiuk

10 out of 10. Amazing hospital from ER to when you are discharged. The whole team from doctors nurses Health care aides to cleaning staff. Superb ❤️☺️Had major surgery and I am here to testify of the fact of the awesome care I received …

  • Angela L

Stop putting your faith in man, do not believe these clowns that say these vaccines will save your lives, when its about depopulation, wake up, look at the pfizer report that says how many deaths there are, cancer, blood clots, too many deaths!

  • Jordan Sasley

Dealing with abrain injury and i waited over 12 hours. No one paid attention to me. after 9 hours they took my vitals. Secruirty guards half asleep nurses were rarely around. Patients screaming help for 30 mins straight no one even goes near.

  • Andrew Macleod

My son and I spent 10 Hrs trying to get two stitches for his hand. Eventually left out of sheer frustration and the total lack of caring or understanding by the staff. They looked at us as if we were the ones out of line waiting 10 Hrs for

  • Ryan Korponay

Had came in at 1:30 pm for right lower abdomen pain, was diagnosed with appendicitis and Har it removed at 7:30 pm very efficient staff and the most comfortable stay I've had, thank you so much to everyone who was able to help me so quickly

  • T Pettitt

I had cut my finger with a circular saw. When we got to the hospital I looked like there might be more happening to me medically, than just the finger, so my wife took me to Emergency as opposed to Access. Emergency people checked me out,

  • Simply Lost

I came in for kidney stones. It was a long wait. Being from a different Province, i have to say that the staff here is great. My doctor was great. Explained well what procedure they would undertake. My nurse Rikki is absolutely a gem. She

  • Katrina Fuchs

Currently at Grace hospital. Only came because fiance was presenting with appendicitis type symptoms. Now going on 5 and a half hours without any sort of pain control. Haven't seen a nurse or doctor while in the back for 3 hours and

  • Manchu Fernando

Surgeons did a great job with my first ever surgery under general annistesha. They explained everything to me in a very clear manner. They are also kind and friendly. All of the staff was great, they were helpful and patient.

  • Edna Somers

Husband has been in there since early this morning for a procedure. He is still waiting. It is 8:03 right now. Is this how things are done in hospitals. He has been fasting since last night. This is terrible.

  • Barb Tanner

Have been a patient. Have had knee replacement surgery there. Also years ago gave birth to my son there. Great staff (except for one physio nurse!). Clean friendly easy access. Lots of parking. Costly tho.

  • BLK SHEEP

Great staff at this hospital. Especially CASSIE the nurse at triage. She is very kind, caring and takes pride in her work. The waits at this hospital are long but the doctors and nurses are excellent.

  • cora

Came here, had 3 nurses miss my veins. Keep in mind, I’ve never had anyone miss my vein before I have normal veins. Just kind of annoying. As I was waiting for the third nurse the lady beside me

  • Wayne Strong

I can not thank the staff at Grace Hospital enough for looking after me during my hip replacement recovery. To the doctors, nurses and full staff, thanks for everything. You are truly the best.

  • Huong Nguyen

Unprofessional and disrespectful. The two girls at front door of emergency section on Friday night, July 17th. They are talking, laughing, texting phones and laptop. The way they talk to us

  • Inder

the doctor is good and treat patient nicely but rest of the staff has so much ego and the wait time in emergency room is very long they take around 4-6 hours in emergency room disgusting

  • kolisnykizer

The lady at the front teak was a bit short but it’s night shift. Doctors where awesome but the nurse Shane was the mvp, very professional and extremely helpful. He helped me so much.

  • Nancy Cousins

I had an MRI completed on saturday feb 20, 2022. the technician Annette was professional, respectful and considerate and did a great job. she is an asset to her dept. and the hosp.

  • taylor-marie wood

By far the rudest, most disrespectful and least compassionate team of medical staff I have been anywhere near in my entire life. Legitimately would rather die than go back there.

  • c k

Went for total hip replacement last week, great overall experience all the staff right from admitting to the surgeon were just awesome nurses were fantastic!!

  • Tyler

the ER wait times are atrocious and deserves 1/5 stars based on that. But the care you receive here deserves 5/5 stars and the workers are amazing.

  • Eileen Belanger

I had knee surgery, and the staff was so nice to me. From preoperative to postoperative, I couldn't have better care.

  • Vincent Orvis

  • Lam Hoang

I went to the ER here, and all the doctors and the nurses are really nice to me and caring. Worth the wait time
