"Worst veterinarian I have ever been to"
I'd like to start with the positives give credit to this clinic for being efficient with their work and caring towards the animal. I had gone here a total of three times, one was for a worm infection in my cat which they resolved quickly with the correct medicines, and the others were for general check-up and vaccinations which I presume were well because my pet seemed happy afterwards. Now on to the negatives, which I wish I knew about before trusting the clinic with my pet. To start with the smallest issue, there is a severe miscommunication amongst everyone involved in the clinic, since both a nurse and the veterinary clinic's director failed to recognize a sale that was advertised on their OWN WEBSITE. How should I be able to trust the competency and professional demeanor of a clinic that is not even aware of the sales they advertise as having? A greater issue is either that they are severely incompetent, or after your money; and let me explain how: Recently, I had to take my pet to a dental appointment, for which they requested I come in a week before to do a general eligibility check-up and give me an estimate of how much I would pay. This is excellent procedure --or so you would think... They gave me the estimate and the date of the dental appointment, and when I went in that day they took my pet in and told me they would give me a call if anything happened. 2 hours after dropping off my pet I thought it would be appropriate to remind the vet that my pet has a heart condition (which this clinic diagnosed a few months back, so it should have been on their files), and that it might affect his anesthesia. When I called about my concern, they told me that my pet was still waiting and that they would give me a call back. When they called the doctor told me that my pet has a murmur, and that he advises against the procedure at the moment. There are several problems here: such as; why did the vet not tell me that the procedure might be risky ESPECIALLY when I had gone in a week ago to check for procedure eligibility. Why did my pet have to wait there 2.5 hours under stress just so I can pay $195 and not have the procedure?? I am grateful that the doctor was honest and told me the potential risks, however, it is UNACCEPTABLE that the clinic would allow me to make this appointment in the first place, especially considering THEY KNEW about the heart condition beforehand, and they were the ones who first DIAGNOSED IT. Furthermore, the director had the AUDASITY to say that sometimes they can operate on pets despite their murmur; while altogether the doctor who had called me prior said that stress triggers the murmur even further and I should REGARDLESS CONTACT A CARDIOLOGIST PRIOR TO ANY ANESTHESIA-RELATED OPERATIONS. So are they either upsettingly incompetent, or after your money -- I do not know... But it is a sure thing I wouldn't trust this clinic ever again. Also: some of the people at the front desk should be more open to respond to concerned pet-parents questions... I had to ask about some things multiple times before getting a proper response. My pet shouldn't have had to wait almost 3 hours at the vet, and I shouldn't have had to pay $195 for something that the vet had the capacity and requirement to tell me weeks ago.
FIND ANOTHER VET CLINIC. Given the multiple complaints about the front desk manager, Sharon, and overpriced course of treatment, I would not recommend Grand Park. Grand Park’s front desk manager, Sharon, is curt with customers and treats them from a defensive disposition. I saw her speak in such a rude and condescending manner to a prospective client who wished to have his dog seen. Per this prospective client, he waited for hours and was told by Sharon to come back after 2pm. She rudely objected to what he understood and snarkily told him the clinic wouldn’t be able to tend to his dog. No sincere apologies for miscommunication were granted to this client. This is because Sharon believes she can do no wrong and does not know how to remove her ego and pride when dealing with customers. It is shocking that she is the manager and therefore representative of the clinic. A true competent manager would navigate the situation with more tact and apologize for the misunderstanding. EVEN WHEN A MANAGER KNOWS THEY ARE RIGHT. On another occasion, I was asked to reschedule an appointment to give another pet an emergency surgery. I was happy to oblige as I would want someone else to do the same for my pet. When I was later contacted to confirm my new appointment, I was told my doctor would not be on staff for the newly rescheduled appointment. I mentioned that I had not been informed of a switch of vets. Sharon quickly and defensively said that she would have told me that upon setting the appointment. No, Sharon, that was not the case. This rash judgment against your clients is so off-putting. Instead of apologizing for the miscommunication she abruptly asked if I wanted to keep the appointment. The problem with switching vets is that the new vet ordered $1000s of new and additional tests. We also looked into their dental treatment. We received outrageously priced dental estimates to know they are ripping off their clients. This inconsistency with vets in every new appointment will cost you. STAY AWAY.
Take the time to read this first, I am sure they are a fine vet but my experience today makes me question their practice, I had enough passion to take the time to write this because of how horrible this experience was. To the Veterinarian I spoke with today: I hope you understand that you made today one of the worst days in my life by placing your own needs in front of those of your patients. This was insulting and painful to me and my family and your callous disregard for the pain and suffering of my best friend demonstrates that you have a selfish nature and should not be in practice. After 15 wonderful years with my dog it is time to say goodbye. Her quality of life has diminished in a way that only a pet owner can understand -- the hardest decision is to know when its time to put your animal to sleep. I scheduled an appointment with Grand Park Animal Hospital and they were pleasant enough and all was well until the Veterinarian came in. She examined my dog and instead of listening to my desires and what I knew was best for my best friend, she proceeded to state that she could not euthanize my dog because she did not feel right about it. Instead she wanted to give me an "estimate" on treatments and tests. LISTEN TO YOUR PATIENTS, I would not be here unless I knew it was the right thing to do. The veterinarian continued to refuse treatment and failed to respect the wishes of me and my family. Imagine saying goodbye and having a special morning with your dog only to have a COMPLETELY SELFISH vet decide to make this about herself, not the patient. I am sure she would love the revenue of extending my dogs suffering and running up So, I get another day with my best friend, that is fine. However, the experience I had here was the worst -- I caution others about going here.
Went in thinking our male cat is not eating because he ate something toxic or has a stomach blockage. Turned out he had a urinary infection and enormous bladder about ready to burst. Dr Yoo was phenomenal. Over the next three days, we took the cat in for expressing/flushing, monitoring blood and urine levels. Sent home with cranberry/copper/electrolytes supplements. Avoided surgery! Cat is doing great. The problem may come back as he is a male cat and prone to those kind of problems, but with proper management and care and dr Yoo’s instructions, this could be handled without surgery. We had to return to the clinic three days in a row, cost involved of course (NPI covered 90%!), but the cat got care, attention, we got explanations of every step, shown Xrays, shown bowls filled with urine…go see and talk to Prof dr Yoo!
Worst veterinarian I have ever been to. Avoid this place. I couldn't even speak to the doctor face to face. I spent an hour and a half with no result. They answered none of my questions about my 12 week old puppies cough! All I needed was a health certificate to make it home to my father-in-laws funeral. What kind of man can't have a conversation with a client face to face It's mind boggling. I spent an hour going back and forth with messengers. The conversation could have been had in less than 60 seconds. You also wasted an hour and a half of your business time where you should be making profit! I hope you all go out of business. "Banfield" issued the health certificate less than 24 hours after this appointment.
If I could, I would give 10 stars. I'm chocking up writing this review feeling how grateful I am for the care and love that Grand Park Animal Hospital staff and Dr. Kang shown to my stray cat named Edgar. I've been taking care of this stray cat named Edgar almost 3 yrs now and sadly she got injured severely and needed an immediate medical attention. GPAH was so flexible to work with our schedule (we had to cancel the appointments three times as I and our neighbors tried to trap her over a week). I've been to many different pet's clinics before but I have never felt true care and above and beyond help like I have with GPAH. Thank you again, Grand Park Animal Hospital and I'm forever grateful.
Only go there if you want to waste your money!! The only thing they want is to charge money, they don’t care about anything else! I went in today for my dogs health certificate to fly and wanted to charge +$900 dlls for medicine they already gave them 3 weeks before! We ended up paying $400 because the Vet told us if we didn’t get certain medication for my dogs ear she WOULD NOT sign the certificate!! Mind you that 3 weeks prior she did testing on the ear and no medication was needed and all of a sudden today she needed to prescribe it? WORST VETS EVER! Thankfully this is the last time we ever have to go there!
First time I've been here. Made an appointment three days before. We took our cat, Phoebe, for a wellness exam. Only took about 30min+ total. I filled out a one page form outside the hospital. Phoebe was taken in and veterinarian gave us a call to let us know about Phoebe's health. Due to covid-19 we were not allowed to go in with our cat. Veterinarian told us everything we needed to know. Schedules for any pet medications (as well as writing it down). Overall it was a great experience and I'll still be coming here. Thanks! Currently open as of July 28, 2020.
I rarely will leave a bad review for anyone. This place was disgustingly unprofessional. After deciding to honor a 5pm appointment at their closing time, which I was not told they close at 5- they turned my bleeding dog away because I arrived at 5:05 and would not see him. The receptionist failed to say we had to be “early” - they wasted my time and cared nothing about the concern for my French bulldog. The incompetence of making an appointment at your “closing time” and leaving an animal at risk is terrible
I took three of my dogs there. My baby had a fox tail stuck inside that was causing a lot of pain. He was able to extract it out and send her home with meds. I had taken her to western animal hospital the doctor didn’t even care to check what was the problem she only prescribed meds and send her home with the same issue. Here at Grandparkvet the Doc and staff treated my dogs with such care, love, responsibility and they are very reliable. I am definitely coming back here for their vaccines.
Wasted my time, didn't get any service, made me miss another appointment that I had as a result costing me money; the best they could do is offer 10% off of the services needed per my dog which I found an insult... Good thing my dog wasn't dying or suffering an emergency. I think you're better off elsewhere because this place is spends more time petting your dog, leaving you in a room, than actually servicing your animal's needs. Lesson learned.
They took us in last minute while we were waiting in line for a different walk in vet. They prescribed my dog medication, gave us bandages, bandaged my dog up and took out her sutures (that she tore off herself). Everything cost around $450 with the medication, visit, materials for bandages and cleaning, and the actual bandage. They were really nice and I’m glad I was able to see them today so last minute.
We just wasted our time. They did nothing. We basically payed 65$ for us to sit and wait for them for an hour. And then they just petted and played with my cat and did nothing. Asked for 800$ and for what? AN X-RAY. We didn’t like the manager. She was very rude and careless. Horrible experience. Do not recommend unless you want to waste your money, stress and time then this is the place for you.
They have been my vet since my very sweet but very dumb German Shepard puppy ate grapes and they made time to pump her stomach right away after two other vets said they couldn’t find time to help. The vet techs are so sweet and really kind to the animals. The pricing is decent which is great for an LA vet. They are thorough and informative when they share what is going on with your pet.
Dr.Kang is very caring, respectful, and caring. They are a bit expensive but she took care of my dog Simba who had a heart murmur. Everytime I took him in, she was as worried as me, I could tell she really cared. I will never forget the time she couldn't find what was wrong with him so she didn't charge us anything and gave us information about cardiologist to take him. Thank you.
At first all was well, then visits were some what of a chore and not functional for what was wrong. When I dropped my friends dog off and said I had to leave I was harrassed and told the police was being called. What kind of garbage to say to a person. Never ever forget that. Do your self and the pet a favor...find a real vet
Dr. Hu is wonderful. The best experience I’ve had and no nonsense with regard to fad food. Thank goodness we were able to get an appointment quickly (same day) with blood results in less than 24 hours. Very special person! And my Farrah has gotten better within 24 hours. Thank you Dr. Hu!
CROOKS They recommended I buY SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS of pills and products because my dog was itchy. I got a $60 spray and my dog was better in less than 2 weeks. Fast forward - latest visit they quote me over ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS for an x-ray. My new vet charged me $200. CROOKS.
I took my puppy there and was sold everything under the sun. One of the vets even prescribed a medication the is NOT supposed to be used in dogs under one year. It made my puppy extremely ill. This is a for profit business! They don’t care about your pets!
Just like hospitals for humans, there are vets that only exist to make money. This place is one of them. They have no sense of care or any affection for the pets. My dog just got diagnosed with acute glaucoma this past week and lost her vision permanently.
My cat was a patient here for just over half a year before we moved, but I would definitely keep coming back if we stayed in LA! Dr. Kang took great care of my cat, who had some problems with her teeth. The entire staff is really helpful and responsive.
My dog had a foxtail that got stuck in his paw, and it was infected. The folks at Grand Park Animal hospital were amazing and fixed up my pup without breaking the bank. I was very satisfied with the care my little Diego got and will definitely return.
We recently moved away from LA and miss the great service at Grand Park. Great staff, they clearly love the work they do and the animals they treat and it shows. They are always very prompt in their care and in making appointments. We miss them!
The best vet in LA! I love Grand Park, they have been absolutely amazing and I am so happy we found them after trying two different clinics in Los Angeles. Everyone at Grand Park has been super friendly and caring. We have a 2 year old
I brought my puppy here the staff is really friendly and nice. The Dr was very nice also and she took her time to explain and answer all of my questions. I will continue to bring my dog here. Good experience
Everyone is so incredibly nice, friendly and excited to see every pet that comes in. It's always very clean and well maintained. All their vets are great at what they do in all areas. Parking is great.
Dr. Noda was so sweet and showed so much concern and care for my baby. She answered all my questions and I felt so much better after speaking with her. She was knowledgeable and thorough.
Excellent service. Very detailed problem analysis and clear solution options. Caring and concerned staff and doctors. Convenient and fast appointment options.
Been with them for years, they’ve been taking care of both of our cats. Attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable. We moved away from LA, but highly recommended!
Ever since I brought my dog here it's been the best place ever and will continue to come and recommend people to come here !!! The Best
Efficient clinic, attentive vet and staff. Our kitty is usually stressed seeing strangers but he love his doctor at first sight!
Honestly seems this place cares more about money than helping animals. My cat never got the care he needed. Highly disappointed
Best service ever, Thanks Grand Park Animal Hospital for taking care of our Goldie Butters.... Highly Recommended

Friendly and helpful staff. Short wait times, free parking. Awesome vet!
It was great, the vets are extremely amazing and the nurse's friendly...
The staff are very kind and professional, although i do find it pricey.
Buena atención y súper paciente con mi perrito que no paraba de ladrar
Typical Los Angeles vet. Sits in a sketch mall, with a sketchy doctor!
Doesn't respect clients or pets. Time management skills are horrible.
Best place to bring your little ones and have them get checked out.
