"DO NOT USE!!! i used to get work done here all the time - i recently took my vehicle for an insurance inspection and i was told the vehicle did not pass inspection becuase it needed new brakes- they would not sign the inspection form without them installing new brakes- they quote me $1,500"
"I had a terrible experience with them last summer"
"Ive given business to many automotive places in edmonton over the 15 years I've been driving, but this is the only place where I have in 10/10 visits to them received better service, more quickly, and for an affordable price than anywhere else"
"I have had nothing but good experiences with this place"
I went to this garage because my indicator lights on Helva (my Ford Edge) were kaput. I also had to change the tires. Ray, the nice guy in the front office helped me out. It was raining out so I couldn't go for a walk but he kindly got the mechanics to do the work first and I got out quickly. I like this place. The guys are nice. Ray talks to the customers who are an assortment of seniors and stay at home mummies like myself. There are a ton of cars that the garage was working on. I will bring my car here for servicing since it is close to home and Freedom Ford is so expensive. Also I will bring dad's GM truck that is ancient here for the oil change as I won't have to go to St. Albert for this if I do it here. You should all take your cars here. I think this is a good find.
DO NOT USE!!! i used to get work done here all the time - i recently took my vehicle for an insurance inspection and i was told the vehicle did not pass inspection becuase it needed new brakes- they would not sign the inspection form without them installing new brakes- they quote me $1,500. also i was told the vehicle had an oil leak and that would cost $3,500. i took my vehicle to Kal tire for an inspection and a second opinion. guess what nothing was wrong with my vehicle. signed off on the insurance form - brakes were good and no oil leak. we used grandview for 12 years but i guess new ownership (not sure but what i heard) - will never use them again - crooks!!!!
I had a terrible experience with them last summer. Ended up paying nearly $3000 for a $300 fix. My car was smoking and they couldn't figure out what was wrong and did all sorts of unnecessary work and kept giving it back to me after a different $1000 fix. I'd drive off, and it would start smoking again after 5 minutes, forcing me to bring it back to them for further repairs. After doing this three times, they finally identified the issue and told me that the $300 price of the actual repair was optional (I'd already spent an unnecessary $3000). I didn't pay the $300, and couldn't help but feel swindled by the whole experience.
Ive given business to many automotive places in edmonton over the 15 years I've been driving, but this is the only place where I have in 10/10 visits to them received better service, more quickly, and for an affordable price than anywhere else. I could write a top 10 worst automotive locations if I wanted to as I have met some real grease balls who focus on nothing but short term profit at the expense of their customers, but to focus on the positive, these are honest, hardworking, and respectable people who have saved me a lot of money and always fixed my car. Thanks very much guys, a customer for life!
I have had nothing but good experiences with this place. The prices they quote are always fair (in one instance another shop quoted me over $1000 for what they did for 300). A couple of times they've even helped me out just because they're awesome. If you live anywhere near it (I do) you'll notice they're always busy. That's a pretty good indication they really are great. If they said you needed stabilizers, you probably did. But they won't force work on you which is unnecessary. Go here. I mean it.
I have been going to Grandview Auto in Edmonton for a long time. Ray is as honest as the day is long. If repairs are needed he only recommends to do what is required. Recently I had my new tires rotated at a tire shop where I had purchased them and they told me I needed new struts and a completely new set of front breaks for a total bill of $2000.00. I took my car to Ray who informed me that my struts and breaks were both fine. Grandview is a great place to take your car!!!!
Took my car in for an oil change and told them my car was also making a clicking noise. Got my car back in 4 hours and told me the car needed sway bar link stabilizers. I took it to another mechanic that quoted me a cheaper price for the repair and found out that the sway bar link stabilizers were perfectly fine. The noise that was coming from the car was actually from the CV axle. Took 4 hours to only come up with a wrong diagnosis, I'm never taking my car there again.
I could not be happier with the service I received from the guys at Grandview. They are incredibly trustworthy, honest and helpful. As we have been to them many times they have often done little favors to us with little or no cost. I will not take my vehicles anywhere else. Keep up the good work guys. I will be in as soon as my vehicles need it, but hopefully not too soon :)
The owner is NOT HONEST. He charged me over $2000 for a new clutch and flywheel from Audi (charged me over $1200 for just the flywheel saying it needed to be duel mass from Audi) instead he put a $400clutch/single mass flywheel. Your better off scrapping your car then taking it to this terrible shop, just trying to swindle you out of your hard earned money.
I have had my cars serviced at Grandview Auto for years and I have always experienced Fast, Efficient, & Honest service. I was a little apprehensive when the ownership changed 2 years ago but there was no need to worry. Ray the new owner has consistently lived up to this auto centre's past & present reputation. The mechanics are first rate!
It wad just a short one ad I listened to my sister again. Didn't think they did body work and my plan was to bring to just bring the car home and park it in my stall. They did give me a tow truck company to help tow me but when you are down on finances I was unable to use them. So again just drove it home.
Not the best auto service I've recieved. When asking about my repair the mechanic from the back told me it took 10 minutes yet I was charged for 3 hours of labor. Making things worse, they did not even fix the problem. I ended up fixing the problem in my garage using YouTube.
My car was done and they kept it so it looks as if they did a big job and they made me loose hours at work. The parts they did used for my repairs was dead cheap and it doesn't feel or drive as if the jobs was done. Will not be going back there again.
The team at Grandview Auto is excellent. Qualified technicians who work hard and know what they are doing. I have been many times with my car and I have always been happy with the results and I will continue to support them.
These guys have been great to deal with so far. Very patient with my many phone calls and questions and really open and honest, not wanting to do work that doesn't necessarily need to be done! I highly recommend this shop.
Awesome !!!!!! Ray is so nice and doesn't B-S. Iv gotten some work done and every reasonable pricing. I wish I knew about them before. I'll keep coming back and will recommend them everytime I can. Thanks guys !
It's a very hospital staff. Like Ray. I am looking forward to changing my front and back breaks soon. Every friend I need always gave a good say to the place so I took their advice. …
I have very bad experience with them. I went to them as the car doesn't start. Just after leving them the car does't speed up. now i have to pay 2000Cad to fix it.
Great local auto repair shop that our whole family uses. They always give honest advice and have competitive pricing. I won’t take my Jeep anywhere else!
I've been going here for a long time. Ray is a really honest and trustworthy guy and the work that I've got done here has always been excellent
Great place honest tells you what is really wrong with your vehicle don't make it stuff. They don't need too. Pays to be honest !!!!
This is a great shop. The repairs are top notch and they never oversell. It's rare to find such honesty in a repair shop nowadays.
Did my shocks and vehicle inspection. The shocks are good and I'm getting more work done form this week. No complaints so far.
Friendly service and a good attitude. Prices are always fair and the mechanics are knowledgeable and fast. Highly recommend.
