Beautiful, well-manicured, hilltop park with outstanding views of the surrounding area, including Tijuana and Mexican islands to the south, parts of downtown San Diego, and expansive vistas of land to the east. The grass is green and well-maintained with a path that meanders from the base of the hill on the corner of 26th and J Street up to the top and leads to the opposite side, past a playground and fenced basketball court. Tables and benches are sparse, so expect to sit in the grass if you're planning a picnic. Only qualm is that the hill is eroding onto the sidewalk on the west side, which should be addressed by the city. Go check out the views and bring takeout from one of the nearby Mexican joints.

It's such a nice park. I love hanging out here with my friends and even on my own. The grass looks so nice and fresh. The playground and desks seem to be really clean. Everything looks nicely organized. The basketball court is also a great spot. And the top of the park, you get such a great view of the city. It's such a pleasant experience.
Playground
It's really nice, clean, and organized.
Dog-friendliness
They allow dogs here. There's also bags to pick up after your dogs. Nice place for your dog to play at.
Picnic area
Nice place for you to have a bite to eat. Looks clean and neat.

My immediate family had an memorial service for my brother who was 2 years older than me and passed away a couple of weeks ago. It has a spectacular view of the harbor both central and south. I recommend it to anyone. It has a kids playground grassy areas, basketball courts but is sparse on benches, but plenty of green grass and you'll get a workout if you dont bring everything the first time and have to go to the car. Those inclines!

I would say it's alright if you get the right time of day when there's no one there. Don't bother looking for public restrooms. I don't remember ever seeing a physical bathroom building the times I've gone. I've visited this park plenty of times. The portapoty is disgusting. Bring your own TP or if you have kids use baby wipes. The nearest clean bathroom would be a block or two away at the local 99 cents only store.

One of my favorite parks! I love this park because you can see the downtown and bay skylines. The mornings are peaceful. It is a nice little hill to relax and enjoy the view. The short way up the hill is a nice mini cardio challenge. On fourth of July, it was nice to see fireworks. Visitors seem respectful and the park is clean. I have not seen the bathroom. Dog owners usually clean up after their dogs.

Wish they had normal restroom instead of stinky portable one. Panoramic view from hill is AMAZING. Almost 360°. Sunsets are spectacular. Romantic. We love to have little picknicks there instead of dinner and watch how sun goes down on downtown city buildings and Corobado bridge. Cons- practically no flat surfaces for kids to play. Playground almost ALWAYS trashed up by local teenagers

  • Mr Hello

Great view of the San Diego bay. No bathrooms but there's a basketball court, small padded playground for the kids and plenty of space to bring the blankets and baskets and have a quality rounded picnic or bbq. Winds are crispy and constant. The people are multicultural, chill and wild but nothing to be afraid of. One of the top parks in San Diego county in my opinion.

  • Ben Garver

A surprising gem near the heart of downtown San Diego. It's size is tiny but the view is HUGE! If you catch it on a quiet evening it'd be a good date spot in my opinion. There is a little playground for those with young children as well. As for parking.. not so much. It really is just a little neighborhood park so it's curbside as you find it parking.

The views from this park are quite impressive. Commanding views of Coronado Island, San Diego Bay, south towards Mexico and downtown. Big Eucalyptus trees provide shade, but the bathrooms aren't open..its a gross outhouse and has numerous homeless types sleeping in the grass. Also has a playground and basketball court.

  • Bobert

What a beautiful little park! A hidden gem in downtown SD for sure. It is on top of a hill which overlooks the whole city, and the view provides most of the county AND beyond on a clear day. Can't wait to see this place during sunrise so I can submit some gorgeous photos!!

  • Miles Irby

The views from this park are amazing, the area around the park isn't the best, but it's safe and the park is clean. It sits on to of a hill and the play ground and the sitting area are nicely separated and there's plenty of shade and sitting area.

  • Roberto Garcia Ozua

Nice park to enjoy downtown views. Since the park is uphill, walk to this park to get a nice workout. People with dogs are good, they are always on leashes. There are some homeless peeps, but they keep to themselves.

  • Daniel Ledesma

Amazing park. Something the tourists of San Diego won't know but the locals like me are happy such a jewel is hidden. Usually sketchy looking people are here time to time but overall nothing bad really happens here.

  • Wayde Baker

The absolute best view of the downtown area. You can see every inch of what matters, and discober things ypi never knew were there. The sounds, sights, breeze, its all perfect. Honestly, i come everyday. Its perfect.

  • Markk Hardin

A great place for working out or just to have a place to chill any time of the day. That Part Right There.!!! I love coming up here and watching the sunsets, it's a better view than the one I get from my loft.

  • marilyn vickaryous

Good place to go and take kids to burn some energy, the park is up a hill and it's well worth it cause once you get to the top, you have an amazing , breath taking view of San Diego .

  • Wenehani Vetter

Peaceful. Has a great panoramic view of West/Downtown, South, and East San Diego including Coronado! It has a small playground and basketball court. It needs another picnic table!

  • Faith Walker

Cute park that overlooks Down town San Diego and sorounding nieghborhoods. It has public grills, pic nic areas, basketball court, full play ground and restrooms.....tranquil.

  • Alpine Dee

Use to hang here way back in the day. Neighborhood is changing and gentrifying slowly. But still a great little hidden gem, and walkable to downtown San Diego.

  • Thomas Coyne

One of the most unique views of downtown San Diego and the Coronado Bridge you can find. On a clear day you get a 280 degree view from DT to Mount San Miguel.

  • timmythechinchilla

I love this spot! Such a hidden treasure. You can see the majority of the Coronado Bridge among other things. Have a picnic there. You won't be disappointed.

  • Jaimara Parker

it's a cute park! my boys love to play there. There was bird poop on the slide that I cleaned off. Also the slides were wet but it happens sometimes.

Beware of the stench from Caucasians deriving from the evil abyss of the earth’s core. Beware of weirdos! Beware of old men and unleashed demons!

The view is amazing but park isn't great, there are no benches at the top of the hill. The playground is ran down. Restroom was a porter john.

There was a nice couple with their dog. Then 2 men came with 2 more aggressive dogs and chased my family out. It was too much dog time for us.
