If you don’t know Central Park you will get lost. I thought I knew the park and still got lost! Great Hill is exactly what it is. The Jazz event was everything I expected. The weather, atmosphere, all the above was perfect. Can’t forget the music which was the best. Rain or shine ❤️

Nice place to relax or exercise. Has just a few benches so bring your own chair!! Mostly peacefull. Has a restroom. A dirt waking area encircles the area. Picnic tables if you get there early. Several paths lead away from it. The paved paths are nice quiet. Lead to diffent places.

Excellent space for dogs to run around free (off-leash) before 9 AM. Very large open area with a running track circling the park. Expect many dogs in the AM and many tourists in the afternoons. Restrooms and water fountain (for pets as well) located right next to the track.

i love Central Park. As a New Yorker, the Great Hill is a joy. There are benches along the path where you can take a break before deciding on where to picnic. There is a large area for ball playing or Frisby play. Plus lovely trees that give you shade on a sunny day.

Spacious area with nice track you can run laps. Great for grilling on holidays such as Labor Day (check with park to see what days it is allowed). If you need more enclosed area to corral kids, check out the Children's Glade just to the West.

Great space for a picnic & sunbathing. They actually have a few picnic tables here, though no barbecuing. The green space at The Great Hill is excellent if you're looking for quite space in Central Park. The Children's Glade is great too

This is one of the best spots for groups and families to get together in Central Park. It's off the beaten path of tourists so the place isn't overrun. It's great because there is a lot of open space and a lot of trees to provide shade

If you're looking for a place to sit and chat or play soccer or games, this is a good spot. There is no playground nearby, so you would have to bring the games to play or chairs and blankets to sit on. There is a restroom nearby,

They call it "great" because it's like a grassy bald spot that's not immediately noticeable until you come right up on it. Home to annual summer jazz concerts, the great hill is home to a thousand musical memories.

The worst part about the great hill, is finding a picnic table to use. So have a plan b, if you were going to use one, because the great hill is a nice area to picnic, has a lot of shade, and restrooms close by.

The Great Hill is the best place for dogs! Viva la Marcy! It’s really no secret, looking for a huge friendly dog party? Saturday and Sunday mornings before the leash law takes effect are a hoot!

Hidden gem in NW Central Park. Beautiful well-kept lawn surrounded by dense woodlands with walking paths. You would never know you were in the middle of a huge city

Lovely area for picnics. The bathroom is right there and the staff will come by and check on you. Well if you have a permit to make sure you're good.

Magical place in Central Park. Great spot for seeing fireflies in Summer. Several working water fountains if you're thirsty after a walk in the heat.
