"The service is pretty good, the chicken is good, but it was tougher/drier than expected, I would prefer that it was dripping with sauce"
"Love everything about this place! Parking is tight, but not all the time, and there’s plenty of street parking"
"Best fried chicken I’ve had in forever!!! Waitress’s was very nice an courteous"
"I stopped in for a visit since I’m in search of the best fried chicken in Houston"
We started off with fried pickles, and they were outstanding. I order the three chicken tenders with slaw and beans. The chicken was tender but the fried batter wasn’t crispy. We ordered fries that were kind of soft and soggy. Our waitress was fantastic and the dining room was clean and comfortable. Plenty of parking. More
The service is pretty good, the chicken is good, but it was tougher/drier than expected, I would prefer that it was dripping with sauce. The only real issues at this location is the limited parking and the food is a bit slow coming out. That said, I did like it, but there are other places to go to before returning. More
Love everything about this place! Parking is tight, but not all the time, and there’s plenty of street parking. They’re originally from Kentucky, where we know they do chicken right. Ask for extra crispy, and definitely go hot if you can handle it. If not, you’ll still love it. Fantastic stuff. Never fails to hit. More
Best fried chicken I’ve had in forever!!! Waitress’s was very nice an courteous. I had the half chicken. With potato salad an Mac n cheese. Wife had tenders an dbl fries. Plus we tried the fried Okra. Everything was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Wish I lived around here to come back everyday. More
I stopped in for a visit since I’m in search of the best fried chicken in Houston. Food overall was decent. Fried chickens slightly over. Seasoning had a small bite. The sides were amazing but service was non existent. When customers have to get up for refills, there should be a discount to our meal More
We had a great experience today at Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken. The parking lot is narrow with tight spots. Once you walk in, sit anywhere you like. Someone will come to the table and take your order. The food comes out right away. Not
No need for pics and no need for a long review here as the pics and reviews already speak themselves. This place has some of the best fried chicken in the city. Southern style, comfort food meals are what they serve here. Spicy, crispy and
I walked in here thinking this would be like you know regular chicken joint on Washington Avenue in Houston, if you know anything about the area, you know what I’m talking about. I was greeted at the door by Denae L., Who told me to take a
Started off with the fried pickles and ranch which were fried to perfection and had an excellent dill flavor. Ordered three chicken tenders, beans, and Cole slaw. Chicken was rubbery, hard to eat, and not crisp. Coleslaw and beans were too
Literally best fried chicken I’ve had in while. It tastes like a home cooked meal and felt like a warm hug. My boyfriend and I got the 4 piece tender meal with the red beans and rice and coleslaw. For desert, we tried the sweet potato pie
And here is outstanding it reminds me of my mothers, but it actually has some flavor! Very crispy I ordered two dark meat pies they were cooked perfectly. The coleslaw was similar to KFC, but tasted actually more fresh baked beans were
Best fried chicken in Houston by far but guys you need a non spicy chicken for the kids you have the tenders but my little son prefer the others chicken parts !!! Excellent service and is a beautiful place to eat !!! More
My gf & I always ran by here multiple times but never stopped inside. Until now, it was delicious, small but quiet, & great service. Our waitress was Angie, a young girl from Honduras. Excellent service!!! More
When a restaurant calls itself world famous, it's either going to be trash or amazing. There is no in between. This was amazing. The best fried chicken I've ever had. Period. And the best fried okra, too.
Good quality juicy chicken. Has a very homely vibe. That being said, I think it is overrated or perhaps franchising has done that. Chicken needs more flavoring and has very minimal batter. More
Man the chicken had just the perfect blend of seasoning and spice! Side of Macaroni & Cheese was truly enjoyable. You won't be disappointed. Our server was ELMA and she was Terrific
Went on a Saturday night, 10 min before close. Spent $37 for 2 plates and fried pickles. Atmosphere is nice. Staff suggested visiting between 3PM-6PM for quiet, quality dining.
We’ve been to Gus’s a lot of time. Their food is consistent and it’s a great place for casual eats that hits the spot for 3 generations of our family.
Delicious chicken very crispy. Nothing special on the inside but I see why people like it. Definitely different from other fried chicken places. More
