I'm always looking to support local restaurants and Hãnai seems like a neat place to check out from reading their site. Choosing to go in on a Sunday was maybe not the best choice on my part because there's a DJ show playing music that feels like it clashes with the homely atmosphere that this small brunch shop is going for. Especially when you have families with their children and the DJ is playing Nelly's seminal classic "Hot in Herre" at 11AM. The line to put our order in was long but we were not deterred by the crowed. Though it would help if you kept your mobile phones handy as the screen menus don't have a description of the menu items like their website has. Though there are also menu items in shop that are not on their website like the Southwestern Breakfast Crepe. We were told that the wait for food would be about 15 minutes which is reasonable for the nearly a full restaurant with large parties. It took about half an hour before our coffees were made. There was quite the substantial back up of drinks sitting on the counter likely due to far away tables not paying attention to the bar for their drinks and the DJ's music drowning out the staff calling out names. I cannot stress how much the DJ's music clashes with the atmosphere of this quaint brunch bar as most guest seem more into the conversations with their parties than paying attention the DJ, only seemingly getting attention from some children sitting on the prop swings on the stage and some of the wine moms of Laveen getting their groove on after having a drink. Most of my husband and I's entertainment came from people watching amidst the cacophony of loud music, people trying to carry conversations and frantic staff trying to keep up with orders. There didn't seem to be anyone from management on such a busy day. At least it's good to know that there is quite a bit of beautiful people in Laveen, both women but especially men. It was all we had to ground our sanity against the music, one flickering light fixture and the television with the screensaver advertising streaming services. Once we eventually got our coffee, it was ok. Certainly not worth waiting half an hour for and not a replacement to our beloved 3's Company Coffee Bar we miss so dearly. We waited an additional 45 minutes to get our food. At this point, even admiring all the DILF's at the bar didn't make up for the long wait for our food. At least we had the hindsight of asking for our order to go at the start of the DJ's playing otherwise staying among the cacophony would have soured our mood further. My Southwestern Breakfast Crepe (scrambled eggs, cheese, chorizo, avocado slices with a creamy spicey sauce) was very good and was served with some orange slices and a side of mix fruits which were some of the freshest, richest, delicious fruit I have ever had from a restaurant. Still not worth the over an hour wait time for. The same cannot be said from my husband's Breakfast Crepe as there was no cheese in it and looked like it was just thrown together. My husband complained about the ham not being chopped up though photos from other users seem to show that this crepe is served with the ham whole slice so I can't say that it was something that was result of it being rushed. All in all, not a very good first impression. Maybe the style is not for us and may have been enjoyable if we were in a large party just looking to sit down and enjoy each other's company for a long while as we waited for food. I'm not sure if we'll be giving this place another go based on this experience which is a shame since there are quite a bit of different food items I would like to try and there really isn't another place in the area that sever light food that looks as good as their menu. At least it's good to know that this experience helps local foster children.

We ordered takeout on April 30th. I was so excited for new food and coffee that was not Starbucks. The lavender mocha was define, very much enjoyed that. My partner received his food, which was a sandwich, first about 25 minutes after order, it came out as if we were dining in, no biggie, they packaged it up, and we saw the sandwich again about ten minutes later, they handed it to us and said have a great. Uhh, well we were still waiting on my bruscetta board. Oh. They went back and found it repackaged the sandwich again? Brought us all the food and we went on our way. I can say the anesthetic in the place is very chill and it would be nice to just relax, hang out with friends or just read. However, the music was so loud, the people at the counter could not hear our order, had to repeat it several times. I could not talk or hear my partner. The amount of flys that were behind the counter was also concerning. As for my brushetta board, I very much enjoyed the jalapeños popper and avocado toast, would get that again. On the other note of my banana and peanut butter one, it's like they did not stir the peanut butter and just slapped the oil on? You can see in the pictures how wet it was, and when you picked it up the bread was moist and falling apart. And the oils were just dripping down my hands and wrists. No thank you, will not be getting that again. Finally my partner stated his sandwich was mediocre and dry. I'm unsure if we will be going again at this point.

I have been trying to support local small businesses in our area. I have visited Hanai 4 times since they opened. 3 out of the 4 I felt welcome and was greeted and checked in during my meal. This last time was just “off”. The person at the register wasn’t friendly and got the order wrong. Nobody provides info on where to get straws or a coke bottle opened. The wait staff were in the back or walking around and not waiting in tables. It took 45 mins to get our food. The food was cold and yet when I had to reorder my dish it only took 10 mins. It seems everyone around us were having a similar experience with the food taking so long. I have had a few different menu items and found the ham crepe to be too salty and undercooked, the chorizo is very hot and that crepe was also undercooked. The Cobb salad is a huge pile of large lettuce pieces and the extras piled on top. Cobb salad should be chopped and tossed. The turkey cranberry is good but it gets soggy fast. The turkey wrap was good. the toast trio gets soggy fast especially when it hasn’t been brought out timely to the table. The tomato basil and mozzarella is good but unfortunately the mozzarella was a little grainy which means it isn’t high quality. I did enjoy the Brie apple and fig spread. I’ll come back but will stick to the menu items I did like and the coffee which is quite good!

How in the world does this spot not have more reviews I’m usually the one in my family discovering new brunch spots but this time I was simply just a passenger. My sister found this spot and made sure we didn’t miss out They have a DJ Not those weak DJs at other spots that don’t know how to get the crowd going but song after song was hit after hit. I can’t remember the last time I chewed on beat, did a happy dance, and got to listen to the top 20 hits. Now next the food Avocado toast is my ultimate brunch go to and I couldn’t pass it up here. Grab a plate to share and make it an appetizer My mother ordered one of the wraps. Now most places skimming on meats but it felt like an Arbys commercial. They have the meats My sister ordered a chorizo breakfast burrito and refused to share which is how she usually gets when something is delicious It would be unfair if I didn’t mention the coffee and cocktails I’m addicted to Starbucks and the latte I got here blew the Starbs out the water They also have something similar to a Strawberry refresher which is next level Now for the cocktails We ordered a Paloma and kept them flying There isn’t a single item we ordered that we did not enjoy The staff was amazing and attentive The have a passion for what they’re doing I pray your business thrives I’m rooting for you P.S. they have adorable swings

Wanted to give Hanai another chance after the disappointing visit back in August, so we stopped in a few weekends ago, early dinner on a Saturday. Because the first visit I had a crepe for dessert, I opted to order the Turkey Pesto Crepe (Roasted turkey, avocado, mozzarella & pesto) this time, hoping it would be better than the dessert crepe from the last visit. It was, but it wasn't. The crepe itself at least was a big improvement, in that it was not brown and crispy but lighter and fluffier. Unfortunately, the turkey -- and I use that term loosely, and questionably -- turned out to be what appears to be sandwich meat, probably from the Walmart. If you look at the picture you can see the small sliver of meat. I would wager the pesto was also not fresh, but from a tube, also from Walmart. There is only ONE reason we may give Hanai a third chance, and that is because of the addition of a breakfast board. The Ohana board was what we had on visit one, and was the sole reason for the 3-star rating. Fingers crossed the breakfast board redeems Hanai in our eyes ... if we try them again.

OOOOOO I kept reading about the lil cart in the LL Facebook page & kept looking for the kart but never found it. Went onto Facebook the other day & found this very tasty place is finally open !!! Location is open, clean, welcoming & friendly plus its open late. Seen a picture of the Spring & berry salad - very delicious. Chicken was very moist, salad dressing was delightful & ooo the strawberries (I took a chance on them cause I'm allergic to them), I only had 1 or 2 slices & unfortunately had to send the rest back. I'm sorry just know that I didn't want to waste them. The sandwich my boyfriend had look delish & it came with chips. Very tasty & fresh, look out with jalapeño ones, definitely got a kick. All and all a good meeting / hangout spot. Nex time I go im definitely going to have some 's.

The wife booked Hãnai for an engagement party. It turned out beautifully. The food was delicious, and the presentation was elegant. The space was perfect for 25-40 people. The customer service was friendly and available at request while still operating the business. Great management team and they own the sky zone as well. Dont miss out on this location.

Found this little gem a few weeks back and let me tell you it's definitely a place to check out. The food was awesome the drinks were delicious and the staff, TOP NOTCH. If you're in ask for Gabe, he's the man, he'll take great care of you. For a little context i manage a restaurant in the North West Valley, which is where i live, so I'm familiar with great service and great food, i also live out on this side. So today we were super excited to make the drive out there to go listen to the DJ and have some drinks and do some dancing. UNFORTUNATELY no DJ, they had this "band" i guess, they weren't bad, just DEFINITELY not something for Friday night, that's like a Wednesday brick band. Good thing Gabe was in, he convinced us to stay. So hopefully they'll bring back the DJ. Aside from that it's a place everyone should check out. Gotta try the Carajillo and the chicken panini.

First time going to this place, and the decor was nice, and the cashier greeted us when we came through the door. We walked up and ordered our food and drinks, than proceeded to find a spot to sit. We looked around for a good booth, but all the booths hadn't been wiped down, so there were crumbs everywhere. We decided to just sit at the bar as it looked like the best spot. We ordered the waffle board and was happy with the selections it offered, but when the server brought it to us, a couple of things were missing from what the menu describes its supposed to have. Which was okay if they didn't have it, I just wish we were informed about how it would come out. We might try the place again, but not sure.

This was our first visit. The atmosphere was super cute and trendy. We loved that it offered alcoholic beverages as well as coffees and teas. We ordered breakfast. I got the Toast Trio and chose the Brie & Chorizo, Jalapeño Popper, and the Brie, Apple, & Fig Spread. I loved all 3 and would definitely get them again. My wife got the Breakfast Crepe and thought it was ok. We both ordered iced lattes and they were tasty as well. I honestly would go back but I have to say was disappointed by the service. We weren't greeted and the two workers never smiled and I almost felt like we were bothering them to place an order. Personally when I go a local coffee spot, I look forward to being welcomed and seeing at least a friendly face. I'm hoping it was just a bad day and will try again.

We came for lunch one day and it was delicious, while we were there we noticed a breakfast board and decided we needed to come back for that. Today we came back for that breakfast board and it was a let down. While we waited nearly 40 minutes surrounded by dozens of flies. The board was a disappointment, everything was cold, bagels were tiny, over toasted and hard, pancakes seemed reheated. The "array of pastries" were 2 tiny store bought muffins and 1 tiny donut, "artisans meats" was just cold deli ham. The only good thing on the board was the 2 small waffles only because it was still warm. Would come back for lunch but not for breakfast.

Edit: After revisiting, the manager was bartending and after mentioning my last two services he was very apologetic and gave me a complimentary. I also had food this time and loved the artichoke hearts. I’m glad I went back and am excited to go back soon I went 2 weeks ago and got a great margarita. Worth the high price. I come today and am told the “bartender” has never made it before, and get an overly sour, otherwise plain margarita. When I went to explain this, they added honey and sent me on my way. Drove about 2 hours round trip to this restaurant that had terrible service and food. You have to pay first before you get your food which was annoying especially since we had to wait over 40 minutes to get our food. There were also flies and bees surrounding us while trying to eat and we were inside?! You shouldn’t have a fly problem if you’re sitting indoors at a restaurant. Heard our number called behind the counter and then had to wait 15 min for someone to bring it to us. Food was cold, bland, and small for the price. I have been here a few times and feel that this place is very disorganized each visit. Questioning why did I get extra charges for a medium coffee and why an extra charge on getting a different milk, even when I never got it. Wondering why there was a huge puddle of water behind the counter with no care to clean it up. Ordered a latte and they made an iced coffee. The inside is very nicely decorated, but doesn’t make up for lack of training of employees. Watched one employee talk to a customer for 20 minutes assuming it was his girlfriend. Was management working? Sad I had to experience this.

I stopped in today for lunch and had the chicken pesto panini. It was really good and was a great portion. Someone I was with got the ham and egg bacon croissant, which was really big and steaming hot. I also had the strawberry acai, which was delicious. The staff was super friendly, and the dining area was extremely clean. Highly recommend this place for a good quick bite if you are in the area.

I have been wanting to try Hanai since they opened, and now that I have, I wish I didn't wait so long. I love everything about this place: the atmosphere, the service, the food and drinks. I recommend the F45 protein bowl. The potatoes and chipotle sauce pair together really well. I really enjoyed the dragon fruit refresher. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I love that Laveen has this place.

Went to Hanai for the first time today. Ordered a dirty chai latte and a bagel for pickup. The kid at the counter with curly hair ignored me at first, chatting with a coworker. It annoyed me, but I wasn't looking my best. When he finally decided to do his job, I told him about my pickup order which had not been started. Despite a late start, the place had a good vibe with nice decor. The latte was strong, but I hope for better service if I return.

An absolute hidden gem in Laveen. Just celebrated their 1 year anniversary here's to many more! I love their specials they can not be beat! (pic included) Please be patient it's a smaller place so wait times are a little longer but so so worth it! My favorite part has to be that proceeds from their sales go to help foster children find their forever homes! Their place is beautiful and has a really cute bar area and outside lounge area.

This place is super cute and cozy. But in my opinion they don't know how to handle a large group of customers. I went the other day and there was a private event going on at the same time. Had to wait over 30mins for my food that they been made and just sat to the side never called my name or anything when it was ready. Also I noticed the people at the private event didn't have a waiter so thier party was also coming up to the counter and you could just see they were not prepared nor trained for such an event.

I've been coming here since it opened, mostly for coffee. Cold brew and Americanos are excellent, and worth coming back for. Today I tried the breakfast burrito for the first time and it is hands down the best breakfast burrito I've had in the valley. 5 star coffee and 5 star food. Most importantly though are the people that work here. They are welcoming and caring. Everyone is treated like they just came home. The place is clean and looks fantastic, and they have a great mix of music playing. This is my favorite place for coffee and breakfast in the valley.

I love this place it is so good! All their toasts are so good as well as their coffee! The staff is really friendly but they are super slow so make sure when you go you have time to kill. I use the mobile option a lot and it seems like my drinks get made way ahead of the food which bugs me sometimes but they haven’t been open all that long and I am sure will get better with time.

They advise that wait time will be 30-35 mins, after waiting an hour and a half I go to ask about my food and they said it was done 45 mins ago but nobody ran it. They gave me a $20 gift card to try and make it better but I will not be returning here. I am furious about this considering that I watched two of the front staff members meandering around, yawning and chatting with each other. I was sitting right in the front the entire time and no one cared to acknowledge or even look into why I was there for so long.

Great first time checking out this new restaurant! Food was delicious , coffee amazing (I got a plain, black coffee and my wife got an iced matcha latte and also commented on how amazing it was) ☕, great mission (supporting foster youth) ♥️. Between all that and it being a local restaurant in south Phoenix that's not Mexican food (I love Mexican cuisine but we needed something different), we will definitely be back!

I've just met a friend for lunch there. It was Horrific. Flys everywhere. I ordered a prime rb sandwich and an Irish coffee with a glass of wine with lunch. My friend had freezing cold French fries as well as my coffee not even Luke warm. You have to pay first. And my meal was a $42.00 they had to refund the wine which never came. My advice. Avoid at all cost. A local laveen nitemare masquerading as a less then desirable new place to dine. It's just plain horrible food period. Bad bad bad.

I wish I could give this place 5 stars but the wait for food and drinks is truly unacceptable. We have been here twice, the first time I thought it was because they were very busy. Our food took over 45 minutes. The second trip, today, we waited 30 minutes for 2 iced coffees and then an additional 20 minutes for our food to come out, watching everyone around us who ordered after us get their food first

The food is absolutely outstanding, but the service is S-L-O-W both online ordering and in the shop. I've been here a few times for lunch. The food is good, the service is friendly and the prices are good. The only reason this isn't a five is because the tables are often not clean. Hopefully when they get a little more experience under their belts that problem will be resolved. I also wish they had standard sodas. I've never been for the live music, I'll have to try that some time. This place is going to be part of my standard rotation for sure.

This place has a great vibe. We enjoyed a Cobb salad and pesto turkey crepe. Now we are sitting here listening to great live music! We are the only ones here. You need to get out here to enjoy this vibe! We need to support these beautiful local establishments in Laveen!

Hanai was definitely the place to go to for the morning refresher!!!! They had a variety of choices to pick from, and were friendly with suggestions. This day I had decided to go with the watermelon cucumber mint refresher, as well as a caramel white mocha, and to my delight they were both wonderful!!! Truly a great way to kickstart off any morning.

Hands down my favorite place to come to every morning before work! I get greeted every morning by the same lovely ladies Adrian and Danielle!❤ Not only do they have amazing coffee they also have amazing food. I can also enjoy some down time with my sister and go get a drink in the evenings. This place is all in one everything you need!!! Highly recommend to stop on by and relax with friends and family!

Update: Absolutely the best tea anywhere. Add the cane sugar for the best sweet tea I've had ever. Totally worth my detour. Excellent coffee selections. Great sandwiches and various toast selections were amazing. Berry compote toast could be a daily item if I lived close.

I ordered my food through Uber Eats and they forgot to pick up my main two orders. She tried to talk to the Uber company and had no luck. Savannah made sure to fix everything for me by remaking my order and adding four bagels and a coffee for all the mess up. Fantastic customer service. I will definitely be ordering my food here again and support a business that take care of their customers. Thank you.

First time; friend and I went for breakfast. My protein bowl was very flavorful and the perfect amount of food for me; coconut mocha was excellent. Friend’s açaí bowl was amazing. Vibe is great; all employees are friendly; mission is admirable. Will go again, for sure!

I usually don’t give reviews but this place was dirty and the wait was extremely long. The food was decent. Also, when I asked for a to-go box they gave me the smallest one. I didn’t realize they had bigger sizes until I saw another person walking out with a larger size. Overall, I wouldn’t go back.

Such a nice place in Laveen. A large space with delicious coffee drinks, fruits / food and muffins. They even have some nice cocktails or Refreshing cold beers to sip on while a live band plays. Sometimes there is paint night and other activities to bring the locals together. It’s nice to see their dedicated and passionate about employment and supporting foster teens.

What a gem in south Phoenix! Perfectly mixed drink, fresh food, and made some friends at the bar. Can't wait to come back and try the waffle board!

Had a breakfast burrito it was delicious. Got their hot mocha coffee...yum! Very nice place, fun atmosphere, clean, courteous staff. We'll be back. Go try it It's just behind Sherman Williams in Goodwill parking lot NW corner 35th Ave and Southern.

Came in for lunch and this place is great! The pesto paninni was fantastic but the toasts are the real star. We shared a Toast Trio with brie and chorizo, brie apple fig, and tomato basil mozzarella. My favorite was the brie and chorizo, a nice balance of spice and cheesiness. The manager Gabriel was very helpful and super nice. Will definitely return!

Second time I’ve been to this establishment and had the same experience each time. Waited over 40 minutes for my food ( A SANDWICH). This time I had to leave without my food. I did receive my refund but no apologies. I understand there are staffing issues, but I ordered ahead online. Do not accept orders if you’re that behind.

Absolutely love this place. The drinks are delicious, atmosphere is top notch. Great place to meet up with friends or work remotely for a few hours. Laveen desperately needed Hanai and we are so glad to have them

I went last Saturday and I ordered an iced chai latte with oat milk, which was so so delicious! Everyone was so sweet and the location is really pretty. The energy in there was great, if I wasn't in a rush, I would have stayed. There was so much on the menu that I wanted to try and I plan to go back soon!

The coffee was awful, really bad bitter aftertaste. It wasn’t even served hot. It had no taste. I ordered the Southwest wrap It looks like they got things from Fry’s stuffed them in a tortilla and called it a wrap up. The wrap like the coffee lacked any flavor. I highly suggest go somewhere else.

This place is a nice change to the area. Upbeat music, relaxing atmosphere, the host and employees were great when we had my niece's grad party there. They said they will have some live music some days and drinks look good too.

Hanai is such a great restaurant. The coffee is good. I recommend the Caramel white mocha. Managers always go out of their way to greet and talk to customers. I love the fact that when I come in I feel like family.
