"Brought my 11 month old son who was running a fever on Saturday night around 1030pm went through triage fairly quickly and a woman came over who i thought was the doctor ( apparently she was the nurse practitioner, not complaining about that i know they are qualified to do what she was doing) who did a brief preliminary exam and order a chest X-ray , blood work and nasal swab, didn’t tell me any of this by the way all she mentioned was that she would give my son some motron, but as they did different things of course i asked about it and everything sounded plausible so i allowed it"

Brought my 11 month old son who was running a fever on Saturday night around 1030pm went through triage fairly quickly and a woman came over who i thought was the doctor ( apparently she was the nurse practitioner, not complaining about that i know they are qualified to do what she was doing) who did a brief preliminary exam and order a chest X-ray , blood work and nasal swab, didn’t tell me any of this by the way all she mentioned was that she would give my son some motron, but as they did different things of course i asked about it and everything sounded plausible so i allowed it. Around 1 am a man pulls back the curtain and motions to take the head phones off and then also repeatedly says it , i heard you the first time and saw you walk in no need to do all that ,strike 1, no introduction no anything and no visible badge for me to identify you he says put the boy up here so i can take a look at him strike 2 , sir who are you I’ve been dealing with a woman this whole time , and of course i asked , no one informed me they were switching doctors. he rudely goes what ? There is no other doctor I’m the doctor I’m the boss, I’m like okay so who was the lady i was dealing with then ? That’s when i learn she was a nurse practitioner. At this point i definitely had a attitude because he was rude and condescending from the beginning and it only continued from there so now i don’t give a damn about nothing else you have to say I’ll take my child else where. I will definitely be calling the director Monday morning to further discuss and give a even more detailed account. I don’t know if it was my skin color , perceived age or what but it was unacceptable and at 1 am i had to take my child to another hospital. This isn’t the first time this happened to me at memorial but it was the first with my son and that will not be tolerated when it comes to my child.
I would recommend the Memorial Healthcare network in the greater Jacksonville area for all emergent health and maintenance health needs. As a Jacksonville native, this healthcare organization stands out as one that hires the highest caliber staff that truly cares about the health of their patients. In the past couple years, I have had more emergency issues then I would have expected. They all have needed quick reaction, and I am lucky to have been treated in this hospital. Specifically, Memorial's emergency department has made enormous steps to improve and become a stand-out organization. Even as the busiest ER in our city, they go out of their way to ensure the healthcare of their patients is a top priority. I have been repeatedly treat in their emergency department by Len Sasso and I am very blessed. His expeditious method and mindset to quickly assess a patient's needs is exactly how all ER's should be designed. It is not easy to be in the city's busiest ER, but Len is someone that the Memorial Hospital organization is lucky to have; more importantly, the hospital's patients are lucky to be treated by Len. Another stand-out staff member is Dr. Nadia Bakor. Just recently, I was dealing with a severe respiratory condition. Dr. Bakor and Len recognized the seriousness of my scenario and quickly had me admitted after appropriate testing. The care that Len and Dr. Bakor displayed is exemplary; and as a patient who has had many incidents in recent years, it is a quality in our medical professionals that is very hard to come by. I am very grateful to be on a path to recovery due to these two amazing healthcare providers.
I am The Legal Guardian for my Autistic Adult Son, He was brought to HCA under a baker act on last Tuesday 6/20/23. The discharged planner called 3 hrs after he arrived stating they were discharding him because they don't treat anyone with Autism. However, the Psychiatrist gave him 4 different medications I would not have approved 3 of them without my consent because he behaves worse when it wears off. I was transferred to the Psychiatrist on duty that night & I asked why wasn't I notified about his combative behaviors & asked permission for the meds administered? She stated 'that they didn't treat anyone with Autism but he was combative so they just gave him ativan, Haldol benedryl & another med I wasn't familiar with. The physician lied & then said she accepted him to keep him from being arrested & That was a lie!! The officer knew my son from previous baker acts from my address so he wouldn't have been arrested he would have been taken to Baptist where he should have gone. I told her I wasn't coming to get my son by myself after he had been given all those meds. She then threatened to call DCF on me if I didn't come get him. I told her to go right ahead because, I'm a retired DCF investigator. I haven't abuse nor neglected my son in anyway. If anything I need to report her for failure to contact me as the health care surrogate of my son after giving him medication he clearly couldn't give consent for & she failed to contact his legal guardian which JSO was provided with all that Info. I am very displeased with the way I was treated & spoken too!!!
When I took my roommate there the first time 12/29/19. The visit was about 1.5-2hr long total. He was told to get a chest X-Ray to look at his lungs however no one did the simplest lung examination which is listening to them, the x-ray was clear. The physician spent about 5 minutes in the room and left never to be seen again. During the time the provider was in the room I informed him the patient has 1 kidney and Lupus, he already has a horrible immune system. The nurse comes in gives him pain medication (was not asked for), nausea medication (not asked for) and something to lower his fever. The prescriptions that was given were tamiflu, nausea medication, and a fever medication. I specifically asked for him to get a steroid to help boost the medications effect as it is always done due to the Lupus, the provider refused even though it has been shown that patients with Lupus should get steroids to boost the effects of the medication that is given. So on 12/30/19 we show up again because he has gotten worse. Fever has increased, night sweats, night terrors, extreme fatigue. The wait time says 14 minutes average well it was about 20-30 minutes just to get to triaged and then we sat for another 2.5- 3 hours and was not called back other than for another X-ray( which was denied because it was pointless and again they didn’t even listen to see if it was needed), and had blood drawn.
Awful. I needed to lay down due to pressure in my head and nausea. They kept me sitting up in the waiting room for hours. All care was done in the waiting room including IV. No privacy. Everyone around could hear about my personal issues. HUGE HIPPA violations. I should sue. Finally got a CT scan, but was told it would take 2 more hours minimum to get results. My head felt like it was exploding. My neck was so very painful. I was dizzy. With all this, they wanted me to continue sitting straight up. They offered me Benadryl. Just Benadryl. What the hell would that accomplish? Benadryl does nothing for me, even allergies. I told them not to bother. I finally decided I was in so much pain that I needed to lie down. So I decided to leave. They told me that I had to stay to get my CT scan results. So basically my insurance company was going to bill me God knows how many dollars for that CT scan, but I was unable to have the results. Very shady. I have no idea why this hospital has such good reviews. This was the worst hospital experience I have ever had in my life. I will never come back here. Even if I am in an ambulance, and this hospital is the closest one to me, I will have them divert somewhere else. Anywhere else.
After being stung by something the day before and the swelling not going down(after taking benadryl, ice and ibuprofen) I went to this walking clinic. After 30ish min I was seen by a Dr, and was told to continue doing what I was doing and I'd be fine. She didn't really look at my finger or anything...$240 bill please. The next day the tip of my finger started to turn purple and the swelling got worse, so I went to a different walking clinic and after one look I was told I had cellulitis and was put on some meds....this walkin clinic didn't do anything for me and because of that my finger got worse. I will not be coming back to this clinic again.. Update : called the number they provided, told them what happened, asked me to submit paperwork. Before I could even submit the paperwork, less then a week later, they closed my case. I called and kept getting told someone who had been assigned my case will call me. After 3 weeks and multiple calls later I finally got a hold of the person assigned and was told that it was closed and the case can't be extended and I have to pay the $300! Once again the worst er I have ever been to and I am never coming back to this er again...
I am a chef. I had an accident, at home, in the early 2000's, with hot oil. They saved my hands. I had third degree burns on both of my hands, especially on my fingers. I came in, and there was a huge guard, behind a desk. He asked me to sign in, and I started crying. I just showed him my hands. I was trying so hard, but I couldn't calm down. He was so kind! He helped me get ice and let me calm down enough to talk, and helped me get signed in. The nurses and doctors were so kind. Oh, my whole experience was amazing. The doctor was very gentle, he showed me how to take care of my skin, gave me detailed I structuons, made sure I had everything I needed. He let me know that I was probably going to need skin crafts. It was pretty bad. But I didn't! I followed his instructions to the T, and my hands look almost normal! I was told I wouldn't have finger prints, but I pretty much do! I was also told I wouldn't have hair, but I have fine hair! They look pretty much almost perfect. People can't tell , even if I tell the story... Anyway I'm grateful. Iget to continue my profession comfortably, I am so grateful for you all.
I came in with high blood pressure 194/123 or something like that. They did not draw any blood or do an EKG. Because I shared that I missed a couple of doses of my BP med and I was exhausted from work, they assumed it was anxiety. I was not given any mediations to reduce my blood pressure. I was given .2 mg of klonopin. immediately after I was given the medication the nurse told me "you can wait 20 min to see how you feel or go ahead and leave" My BP upon leaving was 184/118 (or so). Those where the only 2 times they took my BP. The leads for the monitor where placed on wrong so I had interference with it recording correctly. He only checked once to see what was going on but it continued the whole time I was there. I left knowing I still had untreated hypertension because I knew I wasn't going to get any further service. I had been dismissed as an anxious nurse, not a patient with uncontrolled hypertension. By the way, I am a Registered Nurse!!
They have security guards check you on the way in and they have no business asking what your purpose there is. They are not qualified to determine if you are in need of hospital services... Their job is to scan for weapons/contraband... Not to ask you what's wrong with you and why you are there. Doesn't that violate some HIPAA law? They try to make up hospital policies and cannot produce any factual literature to back up their made-up version/interpretation of policies. If you assert your rights and challenge them, they get triggered and want to assert their authority (of which they do not have). Make sure that you know the policies of the hospital and don't back down. I don't work there and have not seen what happens there but to have to go through a metal detector just to enter, seems a bit scetchy... As far as the staff.. They come in all different flavors. Some are good... Some are not..
I had an excellent encounter at the Memorial ER in Mandarin. I was seen quickly by nurses, the x ray tech, and Dr. Callan. Even the security guards in the lobby were friendly and very accommodating. I had a foot injury and the nurses and x ray tech evaluated my promptly and professionally. I did not have to wait very long at all and Dr. Callan came in. He was very friendly, concerned, and extremely competent. He evaluated my injury and made me feel at ease. I was prescribed a tetanus shot and antibiotics. The whole experience was outstanding. I was in and out in 45 minutes but never felt rushed. A few days later I received a phone call and it was Dr. Callan calling me to see how I was doing. I have never had that type of follow up from any doctor. All in all Dr. Callan , the nurses, the x ray tech and even the security guards are a valuable asset to Memorial.
Was there a total of 5 hours, most everything was done in first hour including addressing the current pain. Then I was put in the row of recliners to wait for a CT scan. Waited and waited and waited some more but was finally taken to CT and all went well. The next thing, as soon as I was returned to the recliners of no hope, a nurse was handing me discharge papers. She got a little snippy when I wanted read them, but I hadn't seen a Dr or RN since I first arrived, so no one had discussed my diagnosis, treatment or even the results of the FLU and COVID swabs they did. So was happy with the initial speed but follow up gets a zero. Learned more about my diagnosis, etc. the next day when someone from Hospital called to follow up. Was very disappointed as we had always had good treatment whenever we went to Memorial before.
Shout out to all of the nurses, doctors, and staff! They really do work as a team effectively and efficiently. They are on point and anybody saying they’re not I noticed are people who don’t consider what these people are doing and how overworked they’ve been during this pandemic. IMO if you go there during this time understand that even though you might feel your med emergency is more important than the next the people here are taking care of the most at risk patients first as they should. Some of them are the only ones in their unit available like the man at Eco. Regardless of these nurses being cussed out I watched them meet each person including myself with care and absolute patience. Thank you to everybody who helped me over this past week at Memorial! ✨
Great service!! The facility was clean and the staff was very knowledgeable and polite. Arrived and was quickly sent to an exam room where the nurses provided excellent service. The ER doctor came in and assessed the situation and quickly did some tests and gave his diagnosis. The check in process done via an iPad was quick, and thorough The gentleman that did the interview online was very cheerful and answered any questions that I had in a professional manner. Our checkout paperwork was completed by the physician and reviewed by the nurse who made sure I was completely informed. This is the best place to go in this area if anyone ever needs any emergency care. It’s a bright star in the sky that outshines all other Emergency Rooms.
I sat for 4+ hours if they had seen me in a proper time I could have gotten stitches but because of the lack of care I was not seen in time to get stitches they told me they would clean and butterfly it but that never happened. If you can't handle the glow of people you should not be open not give the excuse there is no room in the er. I will never use this place for an emergency again. I am absolutely appalled at the lack of care I received. It took over 2 hours to be even checked in after I went to the front desk. This hospital has no organization or any care to help anyone who needs it. Please don't go here with anything life threatening you will fir before a doctor or nurse sees you.
Memorial Hospital staff gave me the best experience I ever had at a hospital. I went to Shands hospital to see a doctor, however, after waiting 4 hours I decide to wait no longer & leave. The following morning I went to Memorial & was in & out within 50 minutes. The staff was caring, attentive, and made me feel so comfortable. They could not find my insurance information on the initial search but they kept working until they found it. Awesome folks & I would recommend them to anyone for a great experience. The only issue I has was the parking because they are doing some construction over by the emergency department. Other than that was the best experience.
I went to the HCA Memorial Emergency Department (Atlantic & Kernan) on Memorial Day. I was experiencing atrial fibrillation. I was seen almost immediately and placed on a monitor. An ekg was done. IVs were started. I was given fluids, heparin, and meds to lower my heart rate. Eventually I was shocked back into normal sinus rhythm. I was also diagnosed with diabetea having a blood glucose level over 400. I was transferred to the main hospital for further treatment and observation. Every single provider was kind, caring, and professional. I highly recommend this Emergency Department.
I showed up and was seen quickly by a provider named “Leda?” I think her name was. She took very special care to ensure I was comfortable and even provided me with a bottled water. She was very straight forward and honest with all my dumb questions and was certainly impressed with how even when she was dealing with me she took time to care for other patients and make sure everyone was receiving expert care. I have no doubt that anyone that visits memorial hospital and sees specifically Leda, they will leave healthier and happier than when they arrived! 100% recommend to all!
For the past 21 years I have use this facility with great satisfaction. My last 2 visits has been terrible.2weeks ago I was transported by rescue.I arrived at 3;15 and it was until 6;30 pm when the ER MD decided to help. Thomas,Stephanie A DO She has no empathy and she lied about the results ,try to perform an adjustment for the dislocation of my shoulder, need help from 2 Providers. She sald that the procedure was successful.and when I was handled my discharged papers was when I discovered that my humerus was fracture.TERRIBLE MD.TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT,STAFF was terrible too
The care that I received at Memorial hospital was less than exceptional. To be clear,, I came to this hospital specifically, because I went years before and it was an amazing experience. I waited for over 8 hours... watching people coming in and leaving before I was ever seen by the doctor. I heard in hushed whispers that my chart had been lost. I am 27, and I was being seen for possible heart problems, so it was a little hard to believe that they "lost my chart." Eventually I saw someone and they did give me acceptable care, but next time I might go somewhere else..
I give it 4 stars just because the doctor that was on call when I went was super rude to me and the nurse. When you don't feel well and you go to the Er you expect compassion and good bedside manners, you don't want to deal with nasty staff. Specially a doctor that won't let you explain what's going on and ask questions, apparently he has a bad reputation already and the hospital receives a lot of complaints bout him, I don't even know why he is still there. My nurse had to apologized to me for his behavior. Other that, it was a good visit.
I took my mother with a severe pain in her stomach without eating for more than 15 days and we waited 3 hours in the waiting room. Very bad service. I heard when the receptionists said they were not happy, they gave her medicine and sent her home. She got worse and I came back on the second day and they kept me waiting for 5 hours and my mother crying from the pain then they brought her in but to sit for another 3 hours. the nurses in emergency are super heavy and not friendly with people and less with the passengers who are alone
This ER hospital is under staff. They do not have medical doctors there. Most of the time PA , and or nurse. The cleaning of the room was not good. The bed had stains from previous patient . I do not recom for any one to visit this center . The level of care needs great improvement . Also, they need a medical doctor there at all times . PA and nurse is limited to what they can do and also there knowledge of medicine and when a patient may need extended testing or care . They are reported to the Better Business Bureau .
Rude staff lazy staff. They actually like they don't want you to ask them any questions in the waiting room. Then the doctors or nurses don't know what they are doing either. I was there the main physician was like "it may be,or it could be ,but then it could be." I'm looking at her like yall running test got people peeing in cups taking blood but don't know whats wrong. Then got the nerve to be rude and act like the patient is the problem I hate this hospital because this is every time
I came here with a broken nose they did a CT scan on my head told me I would probably have a concussion, the staff was nice and worked quickly because I was covered in blood but they didn't clean the split in my nose nor did they take my vitals, I went to my primary doctor for a follow up he checked my arm for possible fracture and also informed me my nose needed stitches or glued shut but by then it was too late and now it'll leave a scar, please have someone follow up with message here thank you.
After my initial vitals and bloodwork draw, I sat in a hallway chair for 14 hours not knowing anything. No one even offered me a glass of water. Even though I was to be admitted. Then my cardiologist saw me at 930 am and sent orders to release me. NO ONE spoke to me until I asked the desk nurse my status. She said you have been discharged. I will get the needle pulled from your hand and you can go. Horrible experience. I have to come back Wednesday for a cath at 2:30 and not looking forward to it.
The Doctor was great very caring and interested in getting me the right care. The male nurse on the other hand from the minute I walked in acted like I was bothering him or an inconvenience. The ER was totally empty, I was the only patient. Kept telling me I was normal (I told him I had Covid and difficulty breathing)and all my vitals were fine until he found out I had a pneumonia (X-ray) then he changed his tune about how I made the right call in coming in otherwise I could’ve ended up admitted.
I had been sick five days. I had seen my doctor who started me on Tamiflu believing I had the flu. I was getting worse and my doctor was out of town. I went the the Mandarin Memorial ER and expected to wait awhile. I had barely filled out the paperwork before I was called back. I saw Dr. Forster who had heard me coughing when I came in. He diagnosed bronchitis and prescribed an antibiotic. Everyone was kind and compassionate. I particularly liked nurse Tammy. I’ll use them again in the future.
Absolutely horrible experience. Long wait times had to go back multiple times for trivial things that other hospitals just do all at once once you're in a room. Such as registration and a consultation both of which I received and afterwards I didn't get so much as an IV I would never recommend this hospital it was extremely small and it seemed wildly understaffed and like most of them were incompetent I had a miserable experience and will never be going back
A real ER with caring staff. Took action asap when the conition worsen when I brought a friend there for care. These staff are movers no kidding! This hospital I definitely trust 100%. The doctors, nurses, housekeeping, lab and radiology technician and the administrative staff were outstanding! This is a real ER and hospital. No playing around with people's health. Great and outsanding performance! You saved my friends live! God bless you all. Thank you!
The worst hospital in Jacksonville Florida I spent over 24 hours in ER with no answers then was told I was being admitted to the hospital I was told I was NPO and then stayed that way for 18 hours no food or water no communication no accountability just I’m not your nurse now this is why I hate hospitals if you get bad service you can’t leave and if you do leave ama your insurance doesn’t pay but they still send you a nice bill for horrible service
Doctor & Nurses deserve 5 Stars. Fast, professional, helpful, knowledgeable. I gave 3 stars because the front desk staffer wasn't the most welcoming. I called on my way in and she informed me that "there's another an ER across the street." They weren't busy when I arrived, so I don't understand why. Only other issue is the email receipt system requires I sign up and give my personal info to some third party "Parallon" company to get my receipt.
FRONT DESK SECURITY GUARD: Please hire a more caring, attentive person for the front desk. I've been here 3x in the past year and dealt with the same grumpy old man. He has the poorest bedside manner of anyone I've met in my life. You could be dying and he would not get up out of his chair. You could be in the worst pain and he wouldn't ask you if you were ok. He simply doesn't care. He's there to collect a paycheck. That's it!
Everything was very efficient, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. However - I have a long difficult last name. At least two staff members played the guessing game in regard to how to pronounce it. One woman who spoke broken English sitting behind the counter in the ER made a big deal of how she had never seen such a name. I am proud of my polish heritage and did not appreciate it. My family arrived in the US in 1886.
It's crazy how nice everyone here was. I really mean everyone. We had multiple nurses and the head nurse were all fantastic. They took good care of my wife, thanks to all the staff. Richie was by far one of the coolest paramedics we have ever met. The nurse Will was funny and caring and very straightforward. Kaitlin was extremely nice and fun and tended to my wife carefully and was so cool about everything. Thanks to everyone!
Other than the doctor thinking I didn’t know what I was talking about. The visit went well. He asked how I knew my tooth was infected and then stated although he didn’t think it was, prescribed an antibiotic anyway. Grateful he did, because when I followed up with my dentist and they X-rayed my mouth, there was in fact INFECTION in my tooth. I appreciate he listened to me and didn’t go based off his own, incorrect assumption.
I went there with severe knee pain (turned out to be gout). Doc told me I had arthritis, which I had already told him. After x-ray and EKG, he sent me home with no treatment and no prescription. The only thing he did right was to tell me to call my primary care doctor, which I did. That doc gave me prescriptions that relieved the pain overnight. I’ve had good experiences there before but this was not one of them.
Whoever answered the phone was very rude. I was trying to explain to her what the doctor told me and she yelled“ I don’t care what the doctor said.......” after I heard that I just said you don’t have to be rude and I hung up. I just needed my results because I’m supposed to go back to work today. I’m only giving three stars because the doctor and initial nurses were sweet it’s just whoever answered that phone.
I hurt my knee and was in serious pain. I waited at another local ER (Baptist South) for 3 hours without being seen. I left that ER and went to the Memorial ER on Race Track and they got me in in less then 10 minutes. The staff is very friendly and professional. Even though they are not a preferred provider with my insurance, and are a more expensive option. I will go here from now on for any emergency needs.
I recently visited Memorial hospital and was very pleased with my ptovider P.A Jennifer esposito sge spoke to me as if i were her sister. She has a spirit that lights up the room, very humbling. She called me during her work shift with my lab results because, she knew i was extremely worried she's the best ER provider I've ever had i wish i could have her as my pcp. She is a blessing to Memorial hospital.
Well I am alive thx to the ambulance crew, and got bag of fluids at the hospital, however I could hear a lot of disparaging remarks about my status as transgender despite my condition. Also my discharge paper work held basically no info on what they did to help me. It did not even list the x-ray or fluids. much less anything else and I was in and out of consciousness the for most of the visit.
They nearly killed my father. He went in incredibly sick. They didn't x-ray, cat scan, or do bloodwork! They released him with instructions to treat neck pain. By the time he got to New Hanover Regional (8 hours later) in Wilmington NC he had developed sepsis. His white count was 28000! He had e coli and pneumonicoccle bacteria raging in his body!!! I wouldn't take a dead dog to them!
I went in for headaches I had been having for two months. No one did a blood test to see why this had been happening. They just sent me home with headache medicine. Went somewhere else, got properly taken care of and got my blood drawn. Only to find out I was anemic and that was the cause of my headaches/dizziness. Memorial will never see me again and I won’t recommend them to anyone
All of the staff was very professional and competent. Everyone was friendly and courteous and did all they could to make my stay as enjoyable as the situation allowed. My only complain was that what I was served for breakfast was really not even edible. Cold coffee, over cooked eggs? Not sure exactly what that was and oatmeal with no salt or flavor. I would rather fast and I did.
Let me sit in one spot over 8hrs just to get a CT scan. Never acknowledging me unless I spoke up.Then when they took me back for the CT scan they decided talking and joking around was more important than taking care of me. Stood in the hall for over 20 minutes waiting till they finally decided to do the scan and I truly don't believe they even did the scan.
While the techniques were helpful and professional, the doctor on staff didn't even listen to my heart or chest, which is were I was having a coughing fit. I left with minimal instructions and no useful prescription. Went to my family doctor on Wednesday and get a good check-up with prescriptions that are helping. Sorry to say this experience was poor.
Great job! From the time I checked in until the time I checked out my experience was great! Everyone from the people who checked me in, and the Nurses, the person that drew my blood and the ER doctor was all very nice and caring and showed compassion to me! I felt that everyone did a great job! I send many prayers and blessings to all of the ER staff!
No good communication with patient. Constantly being ignored by staff in the ER. NO sense of compassion or caring on behalf of the staff. How could this place be properly credentialed by JCAHO? I'm sick of staff being more attentive to their personal electronic devices than they do patients. I don't feel safe here, or like I'm receiving quality care.
Hospital was very short on employees. Have people staying over to try and assist having to work through the lobby for just about all the customers because of all the rooms in the back being full and not able to fully assist the customers wait time very very long. Got there around 8 o’clock didn’t leave till almost 3 o’clock in the morning.
TERRIBLE ! WORST HOSPITAL EVER ! Went to get tested for strep throat was in the ER for 3 hrs just to be prescribed antibiotics and discharged without even being told what was wrong with me . A man tested positive for Covid while I was waiting and no one came out to disinfect or clean anything that the man made contact with . THE WORST
Made a google account just to say that my nurse last night (her name isn’t on my paperwork but initials LLS?) working around 3am on thanksgiving morning was an absolute saint and deserves a raise! Can’t thank her enough for holding my hand and comforting me while they relocated my knee! The world needs more nurses like her
When I arrived in the ER my wait time was as only long as it took me to complete my paperwork. They took me right back and started my care. Everyone was extremely polite, friendly and professional. No one wants to become sick and in need of the ER but if it ever happens I would strongly recommend this facility
Second time I have been in their emergency room in the last three months for pneumonia, Covid and pneumonia again. Each time I was well taken care of by everyone from check-in reception, nurses, and doctors … very friendly and caring. Also nice that I could get my prescriptions at the hospital Pharmacy Kiosk.
The best care I think I ever received in an ER. Dr Mancusi was just wonderfully kind and so reassuring. From the young gal who checked me in, the 2 make RNS who checked on me throughout, the girl who took me back for the CAT scan, I was treated with such kindness. This was the day of Hurricane Ian too.
Waited for 6 hours they thought I had left but was only in the bathroom, prescription sent to wrong place twice, then they just gave me it at the ER. Social security number was requested in a waiting room full of people. Would not return here, military medical is better than this place.
Gary and the staff at Memorial emergency were above and beyond with hospitality and professional. Ive never seen a hospital that literally had bedside manor from the security guard to the dr. Thank you for making an uncomfortable situation as comfortable as can be. Thank you.
This is a very clean environment. You get seen within 15 minutes or less. People are friendly and efficient. X-rays were taken immediately upon being seen. The doctor visited with you and a plan of care was established. I was discharged and on my way home within the hour.
The physician was in such a hurry that he didn't spend 2 minutes with me. I complained about having ring worm . I was prescribed a medication which can't be used on the scalp. Was just so confused. The pharmacist had to tell me what to take out of her experience
My care was exceptional. I required a lot of "Hands-on" help and the staff was Always cheerful in assisting my clean-up requirements. All testing on site ran smoothly with the staff talking to me to keep me calm, VERY Professional! If needed, I will return.
The fact that the hospital has a metal detector and security ramble through your purse is ridiculous. Than there's no privacy concerns, the insurance representative take your information in the emergency waiting room. They need to shut this facility down.
The Physician Assistant was excellent (Dr. Sousa). The care was excellent. I believe Memorial Hospital at this time is one of the very best in Jacksonville. And it is our No. 1 choice for any hospital needs. Thank you. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Boardman
I went in for a hurt toe, only to find out it was fractured. The nurse and Dr along with other staff were very nice, kind and professional. They got me in quickly, had X-rays done and wasn't forgotten about while in the room waiting. I loved it.
Memorial hospital one of the best hospitals in Jacksonville Florida I had to let accident last I hurt myself and I was working at the hospital the response and the quickness of the trauma team that they have is very professional and caring ❣️❣️
After a 4 hour wait with breathing and chest pains we had to leave. We sat in the waiting room, were called back for x-rays and then placed back into the waiting room. We left and went to Baptist South where we were taken right in with no wait.
Heard employees talking poorly of patients all night. They weren't trying to be quiet about it either. Whoever was at the front desk at 11 PM on Wednesday was making fun of a lady who didn't understand English. Absolutely horrible experience.
They didn’t really help me knowing I shared with them I had Covid um they sent me home with nothing it was horrible. Not to mention they told me I had nothing in my chest a couple days later I find out I had Pneumonia struggling to breathe
OK I acknowledge I HATE hospitals, got the old German/Polish in me BUT, grand the young ones (docs) were GREAT. I'm still concerned about my arm but i'm an old hag and need money to return, many thanks those that were so nice to me!
I went to Memorial Hospital due to a car accident. I waited 7 hours altogether. The EMTs and staff were friendly. They tried to triage me twice, it took 3 hours to get results from a CAT Scan. Very busy hospital and understaffed.
Everyone was real nice even under the strain of working with difficult people. I know what it's like working with the public. It's not easy. I did for 25 years with the power company. Very professional and courteous. Thank you
I came in the ER for severe abdominal pain and irritated GI. Everyone was very warm and compassionate- to me personally and those around me. I was discharged directly from the ER. All things considered, a positive experience
Absolutely a pleasant experience. The receptionist, nurse, and Dr King were fantastic. They saw me quickly and addressed my issue perfectly, and I was out the door. Will definitely use again for all emergency needs.
E.R. VISITORS GET TREATED WITH INDECENCY AND DON'T GET THE RIGHT HELP BEGINNING WITH CHECK IN TO WRONG MEDICINES PRESCRIBED THIS HOSPITAL HAS GONE DOWN HILL AND THEY JUST CHANGED THEIR NAME DIDN'T HELP A BIT AT ALL
I've been here a couple hours now, spitting up blood, chest hurts, hard to breathe. Can't believe its this way. Used to be a good hospital but I don't know what is sooo wrong here now. Others are complaining too.
Great nurse and Dr Callum was the best. Dr called me the next morning to see how I was doing. Never had a Dr call themselves and check on me before, also only took about 45 minutes for them to take care of me.
My mom had to be taken to the emergency room there and they were awesome. Very attentive and polite. The staff helped her with anything she needed. Mom was very comfortable and had a nice pleasant experience.
As someone with a history of cardiac problems, and who has been to every hospital in the city because of this, Memorial is by far the best hospital in the city, and the only one I trust to handle my problems
Misdiagnosed with cellulitis, ended up in baptist south with respiratory distress and high co2 levels in my blood. Er doctor did not run enough tests or should have admitted me to figure out what was wrong
Worst hospital ever. I had a terrible experience. Doctors and staff literally didn't want to help me. They all had a terrible nasty attitude and extremely rude. Come to this hospital if you want to die.
Care was great, but call lights need to be answered. I stood as close to the doorway as I could to flag someone to help me to the bathroom. This is after the call light was on for over 5 minutes.
If I could give anywhere 0 stars it would be this hospital. Got to hear tons of patients medical information while being treated extremely poorly by the staff. Save your time and go to Baptist.
I literally came to the emergency room because I am hurting there is not many people her and I’m have been sitting and standing in the same room in pain for an hour it’s an emergency room.
I don't like hospital visits or going to them but this hospital the doctor and nurses were amazing and they made me feel comfortable for what I was there for I can't say enough thank you
Best hospital in the area especially my nurse Hannah does everything right how I like you when doing medicine making sure all the bubbles are out. Better then the hospital downtown.
This was my 2nd visit for the same blocked ear, the staff was awesome, Very Caring and professional, they had me very comfortable with the whole procedure, I won't go anywhere else!
They took me in quick for my broken wrist. Very kind courteous team of nurses and doctor. Exceptional care . Thank you so much HCA. I recommend this hospital to anyone in emergency
I spent almost 5 hours waiting to be taken care of. People with serious pain were being ignored. The worst emergency room I have ever been in. Never go their again!!!!!!!!!
Great job with the nurse assisted and giving the medicines I needed even though she is very tired and exhausted because of the huge number of patients in the ER that day.
I got the care I needed when Ascension St. Vincent's said that they couldn't do anything. Dr. Papa is the man!!! Will definitely go back if I ever need to go ER again!
Visit was extremely professional folks there were very courteous I was extremely grateful. They had a very good grasp on moving patients through the system with care.
I bring my mother in around 1:00 on a Friday and she's been there for over 3 hours and they have not gave her any pain medication or anything and she's falling down
Staff sooo efficient, caring, eager to help each patient. Great care to make sure patients were as comfortable as possible while considering their medical needs.
Everyone was wonderful, and so kind. My wait was short, and I was kaken care of right away. The doctor's were great, the PA was great, and the nurse was great.
Julington Creek ED is the best!! Did not have to wait long, everything was explained thoroughly. Wonderful staff! Special thanks to Mark,RN and Dr. Blake!
Doctor was nonchalant and dismissive. Rushed through examining me and had an attitude when I left and sought out a second opinion. Will not be going back.
Wonderful Doctor who actually cares and listens to your concerns. Amazing nurses also! Highly recommend if you are not feeling well and need relief !
My name is Cecilia Shepherd I went in a couple days ago to the ER and Doctor Sasso and one of the young black attendance there was absolutely awesome
Been waiting 2 hours and still havent been seen. Never been to an ER as sorry as this one. They rather walk around talking to each other than helping
The staff was so amazing. I had been in severe pain for weeks and they found out what was happening and helped me with my pain and getting better.
An amazing hospital with great staff. They treated my love one with care and compassion. Very clean as well which is important during these times.
The staff was warm and friendly, I was in and out they treated me for TMJ symptoms. Prescription was awaiting at my pharmacy of choice on record.
First time using and will use again if need be !! Wasn’t busy and got right in & out which I appreciated !! Everyone very nice and Professional.
