HSBC traces its origin to a hong in Hong Kong, and its present form was established in London by the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation to act as a new group holding company in 1991.The origins of the bank lie mainly in Hong Kongand to a lesser extent in Shanghai, where branches were first opened in 1865. The HSBC name is derived from the initials of the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation. The company was first formally incorporated in 1866.

Extremely poor customer service. Staff members did not even follow their very own instructions on opening an account from the headquarters. Filling discriminated simply because of my nationality though I am an Australian permanent resident with no records of misbehavior. Have already discussed the poor customer service to their headquarters and a third party designated to handle the complaints for HSBC AU and am determined to bring the case forward to financial ombudsman for more investigation.

Would give 0 star if that was an option. Their loan manager Leo Qin completely wasted our time. After we submitted all the documents to apply for a home loan as requested by him, we heard NOTHING back for weeks even after many emails. Then finally when I called, he said he didn’t even bother applying for an approval. We communicated with many different banks, Leo Qin was the ONLY one being completely unprofessional and disrespectful. Useless loan manager.

My wife and I went to this branch on 4/12/2023 after making an appointment to open some additional Savings accounts to add to our existing HSBC accounts on behalf of our children. Jessie was excellent in helping to open these accounts for us at a very busy time at the Chadstone branch with some demanding customers! She was very patient, calm, professional and efficient. Thank you Jessie for your wonderful help which we appreciated very much.

I had a fantastic experience at the HSBC Chadstone store today, thanks to the exceptional customer service provided by Jessie. She was incredibly helpful, attentive, and knowledgeable. Her assistance made my visit pleasant and efficient. Kudos to Jessie and the entire team for their excellent service! The store location and environment is quiet and well-organized, and creates a comfortable atmosphere for banking.

I would rather not have money than have an account with this retched bank. Terrible service, absolutely rude staff. There are so many people out there who would love to work in a bank, why don't you hire people who are passionate about customer service. Honestly this goes for all HSBC banks around Melbourne.

Worst banking experience ever. 0 star well deserved. Staff was poorly trained and kept making errors. They were so lenient with their terrible service and always put their lame excuses first but their customers’ data security last. Can’t imagine how banks like this could operate and survive.

Worst bank and service ever, the customer service staff screamed and laughed at us instead of helping us with the issue we had. I will be closing my account and will recommend people not to use it t! Wish I could give a zero star rating

Absolutely pathetic service, not willing to accommodate any changes. Didn't went a step ahead to provide better service. Looks like they don't need more customers. Better banks out there. Please avoid this one.

Had deal with HSBC oversea. I must say this is the worst branch with unprofessional and rude manager and staffs. Never gonna use their services again. Don’t know what they are doing and talking in circle.

Worst customer service. They used my documents to apply for credit without my permission. I went there just for some info not for applying a credit. I lodge a complain but didn’t help.
