I live in the neigbourhood and have used their services for more than 10 years. The ATM's are good, buying investment products have been OK, over the counter teller services range from OK to not helpful at all. Last week a circular from HSBC headquarters prompted me to exchange the old British Pound paper notes (250 Pounds in total) to new ones, or sell them at any branch. The teller at this Kerrisdale location refused to do anything with the notes for reason that they were too old, and told me to get service from a froreign exchange shop instead. I double checked the circular I received, and chatted with a HSBC customer service agent online, to cofirmed that any branch should accpet notes at any age, and at any quantity within reason. I went to another branch in Vancouver this morning, sold the Pound notes and creditd the proceeds to my account without a hitch. So this Kerrisdale branch manager either doesn't know what headquarters want them to do, or doesn't care about customer service. They can refuse to provide services which are probably not profitable enough at their discretion. I feel sorry for the young people working at this branch. They seeems to be willing to help, but unfortunately are poorly led.

This is the most awful branch ever...no they are not just racist. But they treat their customers horribly unless you have over million dollars in the account. I deposited a bank draft usd from RBC into my relatives account. This stupid bank put it on hold for 30 days because it is a foreign fund! This is ridiculous. Fine i waited for 30 days, guess what...the money is till on hold, they extended the hold for another 15 days so now the fund is on hostage for over 45 days! Either they are trying to send me a message im not wealthy enough and i cant even get my home branch manager to open the hold. Even my home branch manager and hsbc telephone reps says this is Ridiculous. On top of that every time i come here i have to wait over 30 mins! One time the line was to the door! We have VIP status...if they treat their VIP like this ...i Hate to be a regular joe. I m gonna esclate the complain and tear that manager a new one. Dont save money with them...why give them ur hard earn cash for them to rip you off and the inconvenience due to all the red tapes with this bank!

We banked at HSBC all over the world, this branch is by far the worst in term of customer care. We went to the bank this morning trying to move our premier and investment accounts from Ontario to here. We failed after waiting for a long while as no one in the branch was available to see us or able to set up an appointment at another time. WE WILL SWITCH THE ACCOUNTS ELSEWHERE. Even if the branch manager don't read or care about the negative opinions posted, We want to share our disappointments anyway.

Customer service representatives? 0/5 if possible. It's 11 am on a Thursday, there's 7 people behind me in line, I've already waited 20 minutes and the only two tellers told me they can't help me because they want to go eat. This is the last thing CUSTOMER SERVICE represents. This place is foul, overheated, poorly managed and the service is beyond awful. I urge you if you do not have a bank, do not ever go here. PATHETIC, WEAK AND IRRESPONSIBLE. 100% calling yourself a business.

I greatly appreciate the ongoing support and advice that Sahil Suri, the Sr. Premier Relationship Manager, consistently provides my family with. He is incredibly kind and patient when assisting us with our banking needs. Sahil is highly knowledgeable regarding investment to maximize yields. My family have chosen to bank with HSBC because of Sahil's commitment to excellence in customer service. Highly recommend utilizing his investment services!

I just had a fraudulant charge against my bank, they did not contact me, they put my funds on hold, and now I need to attend the branch to challenge... Only they are now closed on Saturdays.... The only Day I could have attended without missing work.... Past experiences have been horrible with my personal banking rep and I have since moved over to TD... I would suggest doing the same.

Hi I went to this place to open saving account. and i can say they are racicst and dont know how to handle the banking orders. the manager didnt even know what date is it. she had to look at the phone to make sure about the date. they put my account on hold because i am jewish. very very bad

It's ok but people with wheel chair who park in the back have to go to the front entrance only as the back has stairs. Nice service. Good for transferring funds to and from other countries quickly.
