I came into this HSBC branch today to transfer money to an overseas account. The appointment was booked well over a month ago as I required the money transferred and received at a specific date. I met with a HSBC senior representative for over 1.5hrs. This person had no clue how to do it, was incompetent and lacked the knowledge expected of someone in their role. After asking her if someone else could help she said no. After she had (accidentally) blocked my bank account and having to call head office to re block it I resorted to asking the front teller to assist. The teller helped me do it and I was charged $170 once the transfer went through!! I will never bank with HSBC again.
It has been an absolute nightmare trying to get a hold of this branch. After over 20 calls, I still have not been connected to the branch so I am able to resolve a simple issue. I have been treated with utter disrespect by the call center personnel, consistently been hung up on and even purposefully ignored by being put on hold for over 20 minutes to simply check the Status of my account. Since I live abroad I am unable to make a walk in. I do want to mention, that my experience with the in person staff has always been great.
I really want to give this branch a ZERO if I can. The service is extremely slow and the manager H is very rude. She is not familiar with their banking product and asked to charge me for ordering checques that supposed to be free for my account. Also no problem can be solved at this branch and totally wasted my time. Go to other branch or use call center if you can!
The bank teller that I spoke to earlier this month (Angela) was friendly, but this branch didn't seem particularly familiar with HSBC Jade services. Given that this HSBC branch is just a stone's throw away from False Creek (where all property owners are millionaires!) I was a bit surprised at this discovery.

When I tried to pay off a credit card bill, they lost my money for almost a month and charged me $70 in fees for it to be returned to my account.
Worse service u can get frm a bank. No smile in any staff. It's all about why they can't do the job. I was put to a trainee and every two minutes, he had to check with the manager in a cubicle. It took 45 mts to get my job at the counter. No officer bothered to help. Later found my job was not done.
Went in-branch to verify personal documents for a credit card application. Juan Gomez was very helpful during my verification process, and also informed me of other HSBC products that might be helpful for my financial goals. I would definitely come back for my future banking needs with HSBC.
If I could give no stars I would. Michael T. Lai located at their Call centre on West Broadway has provided awful service. I went to complain to his manager who was never available. Just called again and was disconnected. Awful representation in the service industry.
Worst bank account opening process ever, everyone at the branch I’ve interacted with didn’t seem to know what they were doing and the process was very drawn out. First time I’ve been to a bank that doesn’t want to take my money.

If I can give ZERO, I will. Awful customer service. Tellers do not acknowledge customers in line. I am glad I closed my account.
