Really distressing experience. The lady was lovely but I got a terribly uneven cut, I had to go to another hair dresser to get it fixed and was told there was 1cm difference from either side plus chunks of hair that were forgotten about. I left an initial review and was called 7 times after hours on several different numbers. I was told I could come in to have this fixed but I declined as I didn’t feel comfortable. I was then blackmailed over text and told that if I deleted my review I would be given a refund. I felt that it should have been refunded regardless due to the quality of work. I was then lied to and said I was refunded but the money never came through so I had to go elsewhere and pay for a second haircut. When I went to another salon to have it fixed I was told there was a 2cm difference in length on either side that had to be fixed. I’ve decided to leave a second review as I feel that it’s the right thing to do. I don’t want to cause stress for this business but I found this a really horrible experience and I was treated very unfairly.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Hair by Fairy Salon for a keratin treatment, hair cut, and color, as well as a rejuvenating facial with Feredie. I must say, the experience was absolutely phenomenal, and I am thrilled with the results! After the keratin treatment, my hair has transformed into silky smooth perfection. The stylists at Hair by Fairy Salon truly know their craft, and they were able to give me a stylish haircut and color that perfectly suited my taste. Not only does my hair look fantastic, but it also feels incredibly healthy and nourished. Feredie worked wonders on my skin during the facial. My complexion is now glowing, and I can't stop admiring the radiant, refreshed look. Feredie's expertise and attention to detail were evident throughout the treatment, and I left the salon feeling like a whole new person. I highly recommend Hair by Fairy Salon for all your hair and skin needs.

I went to Hair by Fairy during my recent visit to London for a touch up of my roots and hair trim. Since I saw a lot of good reviews here and on insta, I went in. The hair color was good, the staff is pretty friendly. My haircut was not good though. I live in Germany and am used to having good quality hair cuts where the hair dresser spends time with my hair and gives a finished look. I had a feeling in this salon that they were in a hurry and the hair cut was maybe one of my least favorite ones till date. I know the hair will grow back and I should not be so vain about it, but it took me a year to grow it and now I will have to wait a long time for the weird layers to grow back. The brushes dint look clean either. I never leave an average review but I guess I am very emotional about my hair and would not recommend this place for a hair cut.

I've been going to Fairy for 25years and whenever I'm in London ... technically great hairdressers, lovely people with lots of knowledge and quality product. I've used Hair by Fairy for Colours and Cut, for both me and our children and have always been very happy with the service. Latest treatment has been half head hair extensions to liven up my tired looking hair. Great head massages when washing hair and always treated like an old friend in communication. Situated in a hidden oasis in the middle of Covent Garden surrounded by fab local businesses (pizza, Neal's Yard, decent coffee and awesome Thai back rub). This is a magical corner of London. Back again this weekend for daughters hairstyling and mine after a head op and again, absolutely fantastic job for all of us; May is a great hairdresser and styled us all just right. Thanks all!

Three times I've been to this salon over the past year, each time without an appointment, and Fairy and the team have always gone above and beyond to see out my wildest hair fantasies. Beautiful bleaching, colouring, and cutting, all at a moment's notice. It is easy to tell how passionate the staff are about hairstyling - I've never had a stylist more eager to show their creativity in colouring my hair than Fairy! Today I called 45 minutes before I showed up (very disorganised of me!) and yet they still saw that I got the haircut of my dreams... which I absolutely did! Fairy was away, so today I am thanking May, who has given me what is probably my favourite hair yet!!! Already looking forward to my next appointment (which I will try to book in advance this time!)

i’ve been cutting my own hair for the last 2 years since salons usually don’t do what i want, and going here unfortunately solidified that :/ i asked for layers but my hair somehow looks flatter now it’s been a few days after my appointment. despite this the stylist made me look like i’d been dragged through a hedge backwards once i left since my hair was insanely puffy, which was not what i wanted at all. the guy who greeted me seemed like he didn’t want to be there, and like he didn’t want me to be there either. overall was quite an uncomfortable environment and my hair looks the worst it has in years. wish i had nicer things to say about this salon as i had high hopes :/ won’t be coming back

Appointment delays by 40 mins to perm my hair. I waited because of the good reviews but now I realise that was the wrong choice. Owner was rough on my hair and did a rushed job. Even burnt my head a couple of times when blow drying my hair because she was not paying attention. The perm did not stay at all curls were barely noticeable just after 2 hours of leaving the place. This was my first ever perm so wasn't sure if it was part of the process but it is NOT! I have had my hair permed again since and it was an infinitely better experience. The owner is just rude and doesn't care about her customers.

I went in for a bleach and cut with the fabulous May. The cut turned out great and she managed to bleach my stubborn hair up to an almost white. Very caring and also informs you every step of the way what is possible and what might best suit you, but doesn’t impose her idea she works with your vision and wishes. Highly recommend Hair By Fairy. It’s like a little family and it feels like being in a second home for the time you are there - they know all the customers by name and most have come for years which says a lot in itself. Definitely recommend if in London and want a good service.

Always impressed by their work! I have been going to Hair By Fairy for well over a year every few months to dye my hair blue. The colour is always really vibrant and lasts ages. I'm always happy with the colour and the pricing is always fair - especially for somewhere in central London! The staff are also all really sweet and the salon is always very relaxed. Easily my favourite hair salon in London and would highly recommend. *Just editing this review to add a photo. Got my hair done again today and I love everything about it. They did the colour, bangs and style exactly as I asked :)

Visited here for the first time today .. was apprehensive switching from my usual salon but after my experience, I’ve found that I’ll now be coming here instead ! Such a pretty salon in the heart of covent garden with a wonderful vibe and even more wonderful staff! They worked to ensure that all my needs were met and that I’d be able to achieve the look I desired. I left feeling beautiful with my new hair and garnered many compliments Everything was top quality. One of the best hair salons in London - I look forward to visiting again

Have been going here for quite a few years now. The hairdresser is nicely located in Neal's Yard. The staff are always very friendly and do a great job. I went to them for highlights for the first time, and they were very patient with my queries as it was all new to me and I was given input into what I wanted. I was very pleased with the job they did and the time and effort that was put into it. I will definitely go back for more. The prices are very reasonable which makes you want to return even though it is not that local to me.

I've had my hair done twice Fairy and she is talented, professional and lovely. The first time I wanted to be more cautious than she advised with getting a mullet cut in and she did a brilliant job, but I ended up coming back an hour later for her to do what she'd suggested all along! And they fit me in at the end of the day to take a bit more off for free. Just been back again and trusted her completely, and she smashed it out the park. Mullet genius, perfectly tailored to my hair and face shape. Thank you so much!!!

I was visiting London for a few days from the US and desperately needed a haircut. I walked past this salon in Neal’s Yard and instantly made an appointment for the next day. The hairdresser did an amazing job – I didn’t grab her name. It was so lovely to talk with her and she gave me a fabulous cut and blow dry and was quick but also meticulous, which is hard to find where I live in the States. I felt SO refreshed for the rest of my trip. Next time I find myself in London I will definitely return!

Today was my first experience at Hair By Fairy. My hair needed color correction after having highlights by another salon. Hair By Fairy were able to see me within a few hours and I could not be happier with the service and hospitality from May and the team. It was a big job but May has completely saved my hair and managed to give my hair a more natural/ even look by toning down my previous highlights . I will most definitely be coming back after my holiday! Thank you so much

I only have my hair done once a year but I always come to Hair by Fairy to get it done as they always do a fantastic job! I have probably been coming here for about 8 years now, and still do despite not living in London anymore. I always get a full head of highlights and a trim hair cut (see photos). As well as doing a good job with my hair, all the staff are super friendly and it's a gorgeous venue in the cutest street of Covent Garden. Thank you Fairies.

An amazing salon, with amazing people. I came in crying today as my colour had been done badly by another salon so I came in for a fix, not knowing if they could or not. They welcomed me in during a busy time, told me not to worry and had me sorted with a beautiful baby pink colour (what I originally wanted from the other salon) super quick. Super impressed, and the kindness of the staff made me feel so relaxed and like I was in good hands. I will be back!

I have very curly hair, she took her time and was a very enjoyable experience - I left feeling great leaving. She gave my hair an exceptional cut - took away all my split ends but kept the length. Extremely satisfied with my haircut from May, who, clearly experienced, showed great attention to detail and care when trimming my hair. During the process she was chatty and kept me informed about what she was doing, making slight alterations to my request to make it as flattering as possible to my face. She was both highly professional and amicable, as were all the staff. Overall the environment was clean and stylish. I will be back again soon.

Soooooo gooooood! Easy communication and valuable suggestions about coloring. My original plan was doing highlights with white, purple, and green. However, because of the base color of my hair, white is time-consuming and undesirable. I was kindly suggested to change colors. I picked green and pink and left everything to them. They found the best variation and combination of these two colors for me and the result is fab

First time visit here so was slightly apprehensive, but I shouldn’t have been. May did a really lovely job of my hair, and so quickly. Considering I was booked in for a cut and shampoo, it turned out to be a restyle as my hair was long and I wanted my usual Bob back again. I’m genuinely so pleased with my new hair, she got it spot on, and was so quick and efficient. I look forward to coming back - thank you May!

I got my hair cut by May, who did such an amazing job! She took the time to really make my hair look so pretty. I hated looking at my long, thick hair because I found it unmanageable, but May knew exactly what I wanted with very little guidance, to make me love my hair again. Everyone in the salon is so friendly and I'm glad I made the 1.5hr trip. It will be my go-to salon, I don't need to try anywhere else!

I've been going to Hair By Fairy on and off for the best part of 22 years and can honestly say its the best hair salon in London. First of all it's very competitively priced, awesome location, and the talented, ever changing staff from all over Europe ensure they are always on top of the latest fashions. The owners are also amazing. It feels like I'm going home when I go to this place. Highly recommended.

I’ve been to Hair by Fairy a few times now, first time getting my hair highlighted today and it looks AMAZING. So happy with the cut and colour - it feels so healthy and it’s the first time my hair has ever looked this shiny (hard to achieve as a natural blonde). Such lovely staff too - relaxed, accommodating and up for a laugh. The best value hairdressers I’ve found since living in London over 9 years.

I had not had my hair professionally cut since before the pandemic, I also struggle with anxiety and was very nervous about going to a new salon. I was greeted so warmly, made to feel comfortable and genuinely cared for. The cut itself came out absolutely beautiful and boosted my self-esteem so much. It meant a lot to me to have a good experience at this time, so thank you. I will be back!

Absolutely obsessed with my hair! Such lovely hairdressers and a lovely team of people, who made me feel so welcome from start to finish. May transformed my hair, I went in with AWFUL roots and hair with no life, and left with the blondest, shiniest hair, in just under two hours! GOOD FOR BLOWDRY BAD FOR COLOR. Consultation was rubbish, she didn’t even open my hair in the pony and yet said she could color it chocolate brown. The hairdresser was nice but the color was practically the same as my natural (dark brown) she tried to lighten it to no avail. Charged me full price anyway. Kept saying it’ll lighten up with a few washes, its been 6 months no improvement

I had an amazing experience at Hair by Fairy. I wasn’t planning to reach this hidden spot until I found myself in this hidden small square. I was in London and wanted to cut my hair in a big posh saloon but when I step in this shop i have immediately realized that was the right place. The hairdresser was very funny and i have been extremely satisfied by his haircut!!

A +++Beautiful large salon. Friendly staff. Fairy is talented beyond belief. Im v fussy and an ex hairdresser. Went in there feeling old and fat and left feeling way better (although still old and fat). She gave me a fast and simple cut that by her magic became an easy to care for great style. Plus so cheap!! 40£ for wash cut and dry. I highly recommend

I have just had my second wax here and I am very happy with the results. Ingi is a lovely lady; she’s welcoming, friendly and chatty. Ingi takes great pride in her work, making sure to get every last hair. The venue is clean and warm. The hot wax used is very delicate on the skin and it’s one of the least painful waxes I’ve ever had! Happy customer :)

Went to Hair by Fairy for my first perm. All the staff made me feel at ease as I was nervous how my hair would react as I had some bleach. They used different solutions best suited to my natural and bleached areas of my hair and the perm turned out great!! Will be back when needed again and now have the confidence to ask for tighter curls ☺️

I love this place!! Been coming for a few years now and had my first colour a few days ago. I wasn’t 100% sure what I wanted going in, but Fairy did a beautiful job and it turned out even better than I’d have hoped. They’re quick and efficient, know what they’re doing and give fantastic cuts. Oh and you can’t beat the location! :)

This is an superb salon. I have been going here for a number of years and highly recommend it. The staff are, without exception, highly professional and the quality of service is excellent. Several members of my family also regularly use the salon for cuts and colour and are always complimentary of the quality and value for money.

I had my haircut for the first time in years (it was like the desert) and cannot recommend Hair By Fairy highly enough. They totally saved my locks! The salon is gorgeous and the staff were wonderful. Usually I hate the way hairdressers style my hair, but here was perfect. Fantastic value for money and I left feeling fabulous.

May at Hair by Fairy is simply the best, she knows exactly how to cut your hair in a flattering and healthy way to suit you and I trust her entirely! :) They are super quick as well, take care of you properly, no nonsense or faff and a brilliant cut every time! I did my hair colouring in HairbyFairy and they did a great job! I loved the colour they chose for me. They also offered me a hair mask after which my hair became very soft, silky and shinny. The price is reasonable comparing with other salons in central London. I will definitely come back and recommend to my friends!

Discovered this place in 2008. Been going several times a year for a short haircut, and regardless of who cut my hair, I am always happy with the results. Tried other places in between which were cheaper (because they were hairdressers in training) but now I know where to go. Make sure you book in advance though!

Went to the salon for the first time on my lunch break. Super efficient and quick. Had a hair cut and lip threading. Impressed with the result. It’s so difficult to find someone to trust with your hair. It was one of the things we looked hard for when we moved to London. We’re so happy that we found Hair by Fairy. I always get complimented after every haircut. I always go with Mae but everyone in the team is so talented and service feels like family.

My hair was a mess when I arrived to Hair by Fairy, very splotchy and streaky from a prior balayage job. Fairy did a wonderful job, and the result is beautiful. So shiny and very natural looking, and you cannot see those horrible streaks I had before. Also the whole team was so lovely. Would recommend!!

Fit me in last minute for a wash and blow dry! It was the standard city pricing but definitely worth the price! Such wonderfully welcoming staff and so professional. My blow dry was bouncy and voluminous and lasted till the very next day! No hair tugging or hot air burning the ears - lovely experience!

I went in for a perm and it didn’t work so well because of my rather fine hair – I came back and they fit me in right away to fix it up. All the staff here are just lovely too! When a woman fell over in the street outside they did everything they could to help. Wonderful people, wonderful shop.

I am visiting from America and needed my hair to be refreshed and I got way more than I was anticipating! My hair is absolutely stunning. Fairy worked efficiently and was very attentive to my stubborn hair. I am so satisfied I’ll have to book another trip to London just for a touch up!!

Fantastic service! May and the team were excellent. I showed photos of me in my past haircuts, and she understood exactly what I wanted. Really happy with the cut! I also stupidly forgot my water bottle and they called and veeeery kindly waited for me to collect it- so lovely of them!

I've been coming here to get my haircut for close to 30 years. The staff are really friendly and I always come away with a great haircut. No need to book in advance, just turn up and wait your turn. It is the best and most convenient place to get your hair done in central London.
