"Bad experience not very helpful wanted to purchase an item which was on sale for 55"
"Great place for all"
"Lovely garden centre"
"Debbie and all the staff at Halls Aquatics are so friendly and helpful"
I have bought a number of fish from this place in recent months and have lost the majority of them. At first I thought it must be my water parameters but no problems there, even after multiple tests. Fish I have purchased from other stores in the surrounding area, or even online, seem to flourish with no problems . I recently went in to buy some treatment for a recent white spot outbreak in my new tank .The man who served me told me that the treatment I had bought only took 24 hours to treat the issue .However the side of the bottle itself says nothing of the sort, instead directing you to carry out five treatments each spaced 48 hours apart, good thing I didn't just take him at his word . Whether the white spot outbreak is a result of a recent purchase from this place, 5 female guppies (4 dead) and 4 keyhole cichlids (1 dead) I couldn't say. But there doesn't seem to be an area to quarantine new fish? Overall they have a great selection of tanks, food equipment etc which is the only reason this isn't a one star review. I have been keeping fish for many years and have never experienced a problem with livestock from a particular store like I have with this one .
Bad experience not very helpful wanted to purchase an item which was on sale for 55.00 pounds put was told we could not purchase it as it was part of a display it was a piece of bog wood for the fish tank we had been looking for the Wright one for a while and was glad when we thought we had there was 3 pieces one for 55.oo one for 44.oo and one for 49.00 pounds.when I pointed out that all 3 had a price ticket on them it looked like they were for sale. When then asked to see the manager he said he was the manager.l then said if they were for display thay should not have a piece ticket, with that he replied it would be like some one coming into my home and wanted to buy my three piece, with this I looked a bit puzzled and my husband replied I wouldn't have a price tag on my furniture unless I was wishing to sell it. The piece we wanted was only on top of the tank not inside it and could have been easily taken off. We would have thought at the moment a sale of anything in your store would be a good sale. Very disappointed.
Great place for all. Your gardening and Aquatic needs. They have 2 departments Garden centre and Aquatic centre. Very friendly and informative staff at both departments. They will help you choose anything that you wish to buy or give you impartial advice on any issue. Huge range of plants, shrubs, bulbs, bushes and small trees. All sorts of compost and soil is also available. A large selection of ornaments including veriety of ceramic animal and birds as well as several other decorative pieces. Aquatic Superstore is one of the largest in the country. Purpose built, it contains everything a pond and fishkeeper requires for their hobby. It caters for all indoor and outdoor fish, their containers, aquariums, ponds and the plants and reefs to go in them. A huge selection of pumps, filters, UV filters and lighting is also available. Pond fish include Koi Carp, Shubunkins, Goldfish, Trench among other veriety. Pond liners include hard shell as well as EPDM or Rubber flexible as well.
Lovely garden centre. Lots of choice and good quality plants. Sells everything you need for s garden including some nice garden ornaments, rocks, bird baths etc. Everything is attractively displayed and staff are helpful. The Aquatic section was okay but less impressive. Good selection of pond equipment and accessories but not much pond plants to choose from. Was a bit disappointed as I'd specifically visited to buy pond plants. Well worth a visit though for plant and garden lovers.
Debbie and all the staff at Halls Aquatics are so friendly and helpful. We come in every other weekend for various items for our Marine fish tank. Debbie, Andy and Connor all really know their stuff and have always offered us great advice and ideas since we set ours up! We strayed once and bought some coral elsewhere and ended up with an infestation in our tank. All the fish and corals from Halls are always very healthy and top of the range.
Having purchased a pump for pond a while ago, we needed a UV to clear green water, so checked prices and once again, best place for best price, I ordered the evolution aqua 75w UV, it came very quickly and super well wrapped, fitted it, and after 4 days our totally green pond is now crystal clear, what a transformation to see all the fish who seem to be thriving on clear water. Absolutely 1st class service from start to finish.
Contacted your establishment today as a friend of mine has an algae problem in her fish pond. Spoke to a lovely and most knowledgeable lady on the phone that gave me a multitude of information to help my friend, including advising on a water sample being taken from the pond. Can't thank her enough for spending the time to explain what may be the issue. A real credit to you. Many thanks.
Great variety of fish. Both cold and tropical fish. Marine variety was small. The staff are really helpful. I spoke with Jack who was fantastic. Great customer service. Took his time, explained whats fish were suitable with my current fish, was very patient and had an extensive knowledge. Really pleased with the service I received. Will definitely be coming back. Keep it up
Brilliant place very helpful staff had a look around carp under the bridge in the pond bit of a walk up a hill if ur in a wheelchair get somebody to push u up. Now the garden centre is open & on a flat'ish ground it's also cheaper than most garden centres just off Chester Road there is a few spaces out the front, 3 disabled spaces Go have a look around u will be surprised
Some of the staff are friendly other than a blonde lad seemed to have an attitude with me. But they need to research how to keep land vampire crabs. I had to save one in the shop there meant to live in 20% water paludariums. But it was stuck in a water tank and only had tiny rock to sit on. They bagged it in water there meant too be put in a damp tub with air holes.
Last year my parents bought a pond pump, we were under the impression it had gone faulty so brought it into the garden centre today and was greeted and served by Dan. He was amazing, went above and beyond to ensure my mum was happy with the pump, he explained everything thoroughly and showed her how to clean it. Thank you so much Dan, brilliant customer service.
A lovely environment to be in surrounded with very friendly staff which are always really helpful with my needs providing me with the best advice. The stock is always at a high level with a lot of varieties and definitely a lot to look around! After years of providing me with everything I need for my two fish tanks I would never go to any other aquatics shop!
Brought a guppy which died within hours. Unfriendly staff made it feel like I was an inconvenience when asked for help. Fish looked poorly looked after and clearly the fish I was given wasn't well at all as it sunk to the bottom within hours. Whereas all my fish brought from another company are thriving- one of which is another guppy. Don't waste your time
I have just been for advice about one of my fish that appeared to have fungi I took a photo of it with me the staff informed me that the problem was not fungus related and how I should treat the fish, which involved no cost. The service I received was excellent this is not the first time I have used halls and I highly recommend them.
Amazing customer service, came in around 2 months ago looking to start my own Aquarium. Everyone was really helpful and explained everything for me as this is my first time having fish. They have an amazing range on fish and tanks. Would definitely recommend halls aquatics to everyone.
Been to the shop today, very overpriced comparing to other aquatic shops in area , I was there for marine only so no comment on tropical or cold water , marine tanks were very dirty , corals didn’t look good at all , not much marine products, avoid if you want marine equipment !!
Shopping here can be a hit and miss affair. The staff can be knowledgeable and helpful on one visit and shoulder shrugging and couldn't care less on the next. It all depends who serves you! Their aquatics department can be quite good.
What a brilliant place had problems with my fish and a lovely lady told me exactly what to do now my water and temperature are great all thanks to this lovely lady would I recommend this place giving 5 star says it all great place
Amazing support. I have brought my broken water pump to buy replacement and the staff managed to rescue the old one, so I avoided extra cost. Great support, as not many people typically bother to help like that.
Although Halls have a large variety of products their staff needs further training with regard to customer queries and problems. This would be my last garden centre to visit in the West Midlands!!
Visited yesterday to restock garden pond with fish lost to previous heron raid. Excellent choice of fish and aquatic plants. Staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. Great range of accessories
Well stocked and friendly helpful staff well worth a visit for your fish needs and plants and there is a large Cafe right next door it's five stars from me keep up the good work team …
Lovely helpful and knowledgeable staff, helped me with my fish keeping for the last 40years, the plants are first class in the garden centre, and a visit to the lovely tea room, …
We've had our fish and aquarium set ups from here - all competitively priced. But best of l, really helpful staff - especially the "fish guru" - ask for her if you need detailed advice!
Looking for pond stock this is the place. Only thing not keen on tanks fish with nothing in. I'm sure fish would be happier even if they have a stone to swim around. Free parking
Came here for advice on setting up a new tank for my daughter. We were guided through the whole process by a very helpful member of staff (Jack). Great service. Thanks
Decent garden centre, but a great aquatic shop, my son drags me in whenever were in the vicinity, especially now they have a huge sturgeon river monster.
The aquarium at Halls is being redeveloped so the fish stock levels were low. The shop generally is very good with everything for the aspiring aquarist.
Very good and helpful stuff, didn't push to buy expensive or unnecessary things, rather given me some money saving advice, buying again …
Stumbled across this little gem on our travels. You'd never know how beautiful it is from the road. Well stocked and reasonably priced.
Great for garden plants and pots, aquatic centre is great for pond and tropical fish but not so good for marine, not a big selection
Very good and friendly garden centre. The staff in the aquatic centre are very knowledgble & helpful in these difficult times.
Nice local garden centre with an aquatics section and coffee shop. Not many plants but lots of furniture, ornaments and tools.
Great place to go for all my tropical aquatic needs, advice, and even to take my son to feed the fish. Would highly recommend
quite over priced for the little choice they have could be improved vastly with the correct knowledge or experience
Very knowledgeable and helpful staff and a good array of products, fish, ponds, plants and water features on offer.
Nice stock of aquarium and pond hardware. Wheelchair friendly. Poor variety of pond fish compared to other stores.
Unhelpful staff. Very blunt. Didn’t want to help if I’m honest. Believe it’s the area and me being brown skinned
My daughter went to this place with her family, staff was very unhelpful, and rude, she will not be visiting again.
Friendly store with good advice, will even carry your large purchase to your car, can't say that every day !!!!
This is a well stocked store with pleasant helpful staff, what more could you ask for. Definitely worth a visit
