Here was my first experience with hamilton cab: I needed a ride home from a friend's place around 5am. I prepared to order an Uber like I usually do. The price was a lot higher than normal. About 2.5x more. My friend recommended I call Hamilton cab. I especially liked that idea because I have never actually rode in a cab before and was curious to see how it compared with Uber. I called the number and was greeted by a robot who asked for me to say my address and name. After doing so, the robot said that they confirmed my ride (paraphrasing) and hung up. About 3-5 minutes later, I received a text saying the driver was on their way, and was provided a link to track the driver, which was nice. The driver took about 10-15 minutes to arrive. When the driver arrived, they honked their horn and I received a text saying the driver was outside. I went outside to a vehicle with the markings of the company ("Hamilton Cab" and phone number on the doors and such) and the classic taxi sign on the top of the car. I went inside and greeted the driver. They asked me where I was headed. They don't use GPS (at least my driver didn't) so I told the driver the address and the nearest intersection. They seemed to have great navigational skills. Especially with not relying on a GPS in this day and age. As we approached the intersection I guided the driver where to go. We actually drove past my destination and I told the driver it was okay to drop me off a short distance away. They politely insisted that they turn around and drop me off in front of my place and they did so. I thanked them, payed in cash, and left a tip. I believe I was charged a fair price. About $1 less then a normal Uber ride would have costed me. I will definitely be using this service again. P.S. they have a taxi meter in the car that slowly adds up the cost of the charge until you reach your destination, which you are in full view of. Just an FYI in case you normally use apps like Uber that tell you the cost of the ride before you order it.

Taxi driver threatened to come to my house !!! My driver dropped me off at my location. When I went to pay, the debit machine froze on "Authorization Processing" I waited in the cab for 5-10 mins. I was now late for work. I told the driver, I'll leave my info and if it doesn't go through, contact me and I'll pay again. He said no I'm going to take you to the store and I told him I'm not able to do that. I called dispatch to try and sort it out. After about 5 mins. I read a note to the driver from dispatch on the meter screen saying "if the machine isn't working the ride is free." I said okay cool I'm about to get out. He said no and tried to drive away. I got out of the car. He said I'm going to call the cops I said okay. He then said "I'm going to come to your house so you can pay me" okay so fast forward after he drives away. As I'm looking through the app I see a receipt for this trip. I call a manager to speak about him threatening me. The manager than says to me that the cab driver said he knew my family and my mom and that's why he's saying that. I've met this cab driver once before when he dropped me off to the same house. That's why he thinks it's my house. It's not. I asked the people that live there, they dont know either. He also said the issue was my card and not the machine cause he tried his card. Okay so how did my payment go through? Why do I have a receipt? Honestly the most shocking part about this is when I was talking to the manager he was excusing the mans blatant unprofessionalism and didn't comment more on the drivers threat after I told him we don't know him. Please be cautious when using this company considering their disregard enables some drivers to act in this manner. I did not feel safe around this driver and I am blown away about how my complaint was dealt with. & honestly I wouldn't be surprised if they blacklist my account over this

I don't recommend Hamilton cab services to anyone, today was the first and last me or my family requeste their services. Today September 15 2020 I runed out of gas 10 minutes away from my home, just off QEW onto Red Hill Valley Parkway, after explaining the dispatcher the situation we agreed to do the service, this consisted on picking up my wife from home drive her to the gas station I'm come to my location, dispatch gave me a quotation of $32 to $35... At the gas station, the driver didn't assist my wife at all, she is 8 months pregnant, he drops her off at the pump station and parks the car around 20 metres away, my wife had to drag a 25 litres Jerry can, he just stays inside of the car watching, not even sets foot out of the car to open the trunk, again she had to do it. Then this same driver off cab number 154, goes against my instructions, when I clearly texted him, with my pinpoint location and coordinates, he drives 22 Kms off the course, goes all the way to Burlingtonand back, just to make his metter blast the numbers and presents me a bill of 63$. I asked him. Why he didn't help my wife, he said after covid-19 they not suppose to handle the customer belongings, then I asked him why you didn't follow my instructions which it would lead him going on the highway Nikola Tesla, and back to my location and a quarter of the time and cost, he started gagging with no answer... Should have requested Uber or even lift, learned my lesson the hard way never again.

I called these clowns just before midnite last nite, I got off the train in Burlington not Aldershot like I’d intended. Explained to the girl on the phone of my misatake, after not being able to reach a taxi in Burlington at all, she said she’d send a car with a minimum charge…. That was fine, I’m in a pickle. I get a text saying the car was on its way and won’t be long, another text saying the same thing, a bit later a text saying the car was here… it was NOT!!!!!!! 3 attempts to call them back and no answer, the driver left where ever he was with other people. I call again and finally get through to be told the driver had left and now it would be an hour for another car to show up….. I told her not to worry about it, HAMILTON CAB is the last place I would ever rely on again!!!!!!!!! YOU messed up I need to wait an hour now I don’t think so people I wouldn’t call Hamilton Cab EVER again and because of your incompetence myself, and my 13 year-old nephew, had to stand around after waiting for a cab and it wasn’t coming. HAMILTON cab you should be in Keen for the service you gave me tonight, I once was a taxi driver myself, and I don’t know how you stayed in business as long as you have given this kind of service well, no service at all, I don’t know if the idiocy was part of the dispatcher’s fault, or the driver, but the car never showed up to where I told him I was good job… you were the kind of company that gets good taxi companies a bad name

Lost a wallet in one of the cab cars and the driver seemed frustrated as I tried to look. He said he had another call to pick someone up, and that he wasn't coming back, so I'd better find it. I tried my best, but I believe it slid under the passenger seat in the front and my hand couldn't fit, or maybe the cab driver somehow swiped it when I set it down on the seat beside me. I felt rushed to leave the car, and part of me thought maybe it was buried in my purse. It wasn't. I know I had my wallet before because I used my debit card and put it back into the wallet before it fell (or was swiped from me). I was exhausted that day, and just gave up and let him drive away. I called for help multiple times and I was hung up on the last time I attempted to get someone to properly search the car. By now, someone has likely stolen it, or it is still in the car but he was too lazy to actually look. I lost over 200 dollars, my debit/credit card, and all of my ID that day. The customer service was not helpful whatsoever and still hasn't called back even though they said they would (over a week later now). I reported it to the police, but they said there's nothing they can really do at this point because I already canceled my cards and nobody used them. This cab business is terrible and I will never be using it again. DO NOT USE IT!

I stopped using hamilton cab last year after a driver yelled at me, accusing me of giving him the wrong address. I called and placed a complaint, and the lady who helped confirmed i was right. She told me to leave a message with the boss and he'd get back to me. Yea never happened. I needed to take a cab for an emergency, so i decided to give Hamilton cab another try. I used the app and saw i can pay with credit card. The ride to my destination went smoothly. The driver was pleasant and charged my credit card. The driver on the way back home as something else. He had NO IDEA about the app and the credit card payment method. I told him how it worked and i explained it worked fine earlier. He said i was lying and he never heard of such thing. He said he'd call the centre to verify. Then, i showed him the charge and the invoice i got on my email as proof it went through. He was rude and said to just leave the car and not waste his time. I noticed it automatically gives them a tip. I called and told me to leave a message. They never got back to me. Train them better, and also give them a lesson on customer service. This is why I'm just gonna use uber or Lyft. I'm not giving these people my business and money anymore.

I was in the cab #360 Inc on November 9,2021 i told the cab driver I will be paying by Visa card he said no problem, wene I reach to my destination I had problems with my card, the cab driver was swaring, and yelling at me saying to give him my cell phone to him, for the payment, I said to the driver I'm. on the phone with the bank to try to fix the problem I'm not giving you my cell phone, now after 35 minutes the the bank fix the problem, I had to transfer money from my visa to my checking account cuz the card was damaged and the cab driver got paid the fair was $6.80, the cab driver came out of the cab and took my suit case out of the cab and throw my suit case out of the trunk I had broken classes, and damages my id was scaderd on the grown, the cab driver went back in. his cab with out giving me a recipe and drove away, I call Hamilton cab and left messages to the owner no one got back to me, there was no appolge, no phone call back, I do Security and that's not normal behaviour, PLEASE DONT TAKE THIS CAB COMPANY, there RACIEST and they don't care about you, I will never recommend putting your safety at risk, take BLUE LINE TAXI THERE A BETTER COMPANY AND THEY TREAT YOU WITH RESPECT.

Very disturbed and upset by the experience that I had tonight. After a long and exhausting day, I was out with my sister and two nieces and we attempted to get a cab home with your company. We ordered through the app and a cab that was 3 to 4 minutes away took over 10 minutes to show up. Now in the app, it says a regular sedan cab can accommodate up to 4 people. However, upon our cab arriving, he informed us that he could not take all 4 of us and I could not sit in the front seat because his clothes were scattered on the seat and he didn't seem to want to move them. He was incredibly impolite when speaking to us and we unfortunately had to just remove our belongings and walk to our destination as we could not all go and were uncomfortable with this interaction. When calling dispatch, they told us that it depends on the driver, but I have NEVER experienced this with any cab driver anywhere. If that is the case, that should be changed in the app in order to not mislead customers so that they are not stranded and forced to walk in the dark and cold.

I tried using this to support a local company instead of Uber. It was a mistake. I've used it three times. The first time, the driver said if I used Google Pay, they don't pick you up because of fees and that I should use direct card payment in the taxi - so I changed over. He charged me extra for "waiting" time even though I watched him drive up to me and got on immediately. The second time, the driver hung out at a red light right turn just to catch the next red light. He also charged me $3.50 waiting time even though I (again) saw him drive up to me and got in immediately. The third (and last!) time, the driver said he'd arrived when he was a block away. I saw him turn the the wrong way before he came round with the app telling me he was waiting for me the whole time. I got in as soon as he actually arrived. He still charged me $2.00 waiting time and denied I would be charged that when I asked him to remove that false waiting time. On top of all this cheating, the app is terrible. Going back to Uber.

The drivers make ableist comments about my disability (I'm a young person who uses a walker and sometimes a cane), the company never has many accessible cabs on the road (last time I called they only had two; one was busy and the other was 9 km away) and when I was taking my cat to the vet, multiple different drivers told me that I shouldn't own a cat because it was "going to give me diseases" (clearly the drivers were uneducated on the topic of animals and they talked over and condescended to me the whole time). The drivers often talk over and condescend to me and I'm just sick of it. Whenever I call with a valid complaint the person I'm speaking to just says "Okay" with no apology. When I try to explain why it was wrong they just make excuse, just say "Okay" or blatantly lie (e.g. driver added tip without my permission and the company denied it). It's clear they were trying to bring the conversation to a dead-end and avoid apologizing because that would mean admitting the driver did something wrong.

I gave a 2 Star because a previous ride was good. This event I'd arranged them on their App to pick my sister up with a wheelchair van but they didn't show up! What got us so upset was they didn't give her the Courtesy & call her to say they can't provide her with the service. We understand that things happen but not to call, to us, is unacceptable. I put her phone number in when I prebooked her ride on their App so they had it. They told me on the phone the next day that it's up to the City of Hamilton to let us know even though I'd booked it on the Hamilton Cab App & not the City App.! This caused a big problem to our plans but if we knew that there wasn't a cab available then we would've made other arrangements but it was too late. We will not be using them in the future, their Drivers are very nice & courteous but if we can't rely on them to contact us if there's a problem then so be it. Why would it be up to the City of Hamilton to contact us, I don't understand!

Half the drivers don't know the area and regularly roll past destinations claiming to be following faulty gps. Many have been quite rude and literally every other ride they attempt to take me on some milk run or down busier routes instead of acessible side roads. Sometimes I order a cab and get one sent from across the city when 4 are blocks away. The customer service is nonexistant and when you do reach dispatch they are also rude and dismissive. Shout out to when i left my phone in a cab and called it in like 20 minutes later and never got it back. Literally the ONLY reason they are anging on is their pricing is competitive with Uber. They need new management, far better customer service and outreach, and trained drivers that dont nickel and dime people PS as someone earlier pointed out many will ask to "make a deal" for a flat fee as opposed to metering so that may or may not work out for you but I think says a lot in itself.

Our driver was very pleasant and got us home in a timely fashion. But that’s where the good stuff ends. We flew into Hamilton Airport and were planning to take an Uber, but since there were taxis waiting, we took one to avoid the waiting and save time. We were directed to a Dodge Caravan from Hamilton Cab. The cab was the dirtiest vehicle I have ever been in – I can’t even describe it except maybe to say that other than the obvious dirt from lack of cleaning, the roof was covered in some sort of stains, the dashboard was held together with duct tape (as were may other things taped). The handles you grab when you get out of the vehicle were wrapped in red tape. It was truly disgusting. The driver received 2 phone calls on our 20 minute drive. He did have Bluetooth ear buds, but had to man-handle his phone to answer. My wife and I have declared this our last cab ride ever … we will use one of the ride share apps moving forward.

I needed a quick ride to the GO station, where I was familiar with the route. The driver didn't have his GPS active, so I assumed he knew how to get there as well. No, he didn't. He drove past the only street leading to the GO. Long past the street, he asked me where he should turn. I told him we passed it a while back, so he pulled into a residential area, turned on the GPS and followed it. Every now and then, he'd push an offer to take me straight to [city] for just $$ more, but no thanks. Not after the incompetence. I budgeted 20 mins extra to wait at the GO station before my train arrived, but I barely made it on the train with 3 mins left. It's my fault I should've said something when he didn't make a turn, but as a company that prides on getting customers from point A to point B, my service was astonishingly incompetent. I can't use Hamilton Cab again; I can't trust this driver, I don't know if I can trust the others.

Today I called Hamilton Cab to pick me up from a specific hospital. Usually I call Canadian Cab but today I thought I would call Hamilton Cab...and now I've learned to stick with Canadian Cab. The Hamilton Cab driver called me and shouted at me over phone and he accused me of providing the wrong address to this specific hospital. I've been to this hospital several times and I know the address, and Canadian Cab drivers never struggle with their understanding of the English language because they are fluent in English and know where this hospital is because I've given them this address before. Obviously I refused to use Hamilton Cab after that phone call today and ended up calling Canadian Cab. Canadian Cab phone agent confirmed that I have the correct address lol Never using Hamilton Cab again. I'm using Canadian Cab from now on, sticking with a cab service that doesn't blame customers for their mistakes.

We booked a van cab (several days in advance) for 4:30 in the morning to take us to the airport. App was easy to use, told us we were all set. The cab was late. When we called the dispatcher, he told us there were no vans available. We ended up having to cancel the cab and take our own van to the airport and pay the steep parking fees (which we were trying to avoid by using a cab). And, of course, we arrived at the airport much later than we had planned to. We were very surprised (and not in a good way) that a cab company would allow you to book a cab in advance and not ensure that the cab was available. And on top of that, that they would not notify you if there was a problem, and just leave you waiting. What happens to people who don't have the option of using their own car and must rely on them to get them to places like the doctor, the airport, etc. on time?

On May 4th at 5:45pm while driving west on hwy 20 near Fulton Hamilton Cab #362 pulled out from a cross road in front of me. He was driving at 75 km/hr. I pulled out to pass him and he accelerated to match my increasing speed. When I slow down he slowed down so to block me from getting back into the right lane. I eventually got by him but narrowly missed oncoming traffic. He then pulled up 15 feet from my rear bumper and followed me this close all the way to Elfrida. I pulled over into the right lane on Upper Centennial Parkway and allowed him to pass. I was shocked when I saw a fare in his back seat. To be driving that dangerous while carrying a customer is crazy. I emailed the Chairman and the President of Hamilton Cab twice with all the details of this frightening experience and never once received a reply. This man should not be driving on public roads! JB

Very disappointing. We had vouchers and prepaid for multiple cabs to serve as shuttles from our wedding venue to our hotel. They were to arrive at 12:30. They had sent only two cabs that were late. Apparently they "didnt have enough" cabs available, even though this was planned weeks in advance. It was passed 2:30 by the time the last guests left the venue. Very disappointing considering arrangements were made in advance. Wedding guests waiting in the rain as the venue was pushing us off their property. Not fair, and a very disappointing way to end a wedding. Please consider provinding customer service, and appreciating the commitments you have reserved. Also, hanging up on your customers waiting hours for their paid rides is highly innapropriate. Please work on this. This is not fair to your customers. Could have easily ruinned the wedding.

I had a driver a couple days ago car #63 picked me up then suddenly does a u-turn in the middle of king street, when I asked where he was going he said he forgot his phone in his car and needed it. Said he paused the meter which he didn’t. I told him I needed to get to work. He then did another u-turn on King street, headed down Ottawa stopped at a green light at Main until I told him yo go. Cannon & Ottawa light changes green he was sitting there playing with the debit machine. By the time he got yo my work the machine didn’t work but he wanted to charge me more than what the ride was. I ended up but paying anything but did call and complain. These drivers need more training. Guess they hire just about anyone. If they don’t go at a green light they don’t stop at stop signs either.

  • Jenna Peever

I understand the weather is awful today but are you seriously going to think it is OK to make me wait almost 2 hours for a cab to work LATE and then cancel my ride and act like i cancelled it so you can withdraw double the money of the ride? My ride was $9 so WHY are you taking $20 out of my account?! This is some robbery right here. I am definitely expecting my money back for this horrible experience. Havent used Hamilton cab in over a year and now I remember why i stopped. Edit: and why does every single cab driver have to talk loudly on the phone with whoever while im trying to enjoy my ride. I dont enjoy listening to the drivers distracted driving while they speak in languages i cant understand. The only conversation they should focus on is my directions to my destination.

  • Joshua Gamache

Booked a cab, specifically accessable, for a particular time in the evening. Picking up my father after a wedding. Booking was made half a week in advance. Called to confirm 30 minutes before the time, and was told the booking was still good and that it would specifically be a wheelchair accessible cab. Called five minutes after the booked time, and was told that no cab was coming because there are no accessable cabs available in the evenings. So then why was one allowed to be booked? Why confirm? If I had known, I could have made other arrangements at any point in time. So don't rely on information given to you by this cab company, because apparently nobody actually communicates with each other and nothing is actually confirmed despite MULTIPLE confirmations. Never again.

ZERO stars ⭐ ZERO STARS!!! How is it possible? HOW??? I MISSED MY APPOINTMENT because of this incompetent LOUSY company. I booked my trip ahead of time, I paid $60 there and back. ahead of time. I called TWICE to verify my scheduled ride AHEAD OF TIME. I'm the type if I say I'm going to be somewhere at a certain time I am there at least 15-20 minutes ahead of time. SO, I waited from 3:45 PM until 4:35PM. My ride was scheduled for 4:00 PM. Appointment at 5:00 the ride should have been only 20 minutes. That's a whole FORTY minutes should anything happen. Did I make it to my appointment? NOPE!!! UNACCEPTABLE!!!! I ended up having a huge anxiety attack over this. I'm waiting for my refund and I will NEVER use this company again. NEVER AGAIN!!! 100% do NOT recommend.

Would give 0 stars if I could. It’s not news if you’ve lived in Hamilton and have utilized ( or tried to ) Hamilton cab that they’re simply the worst. Unreliable, Unprofessional, untimely, rude the list goes on. I’ve had numerous Hamilton cabs either not show up, or show up incredibly late. Drivers rev their engine at the light, take the longest possible ways ( even if you request a different way ), and are just flat out rude. I’ve had so many bad experiences it would be nearly impossible to list them all. If you’re looking for drivers that smoke in the car, drivers that don’t show up and terrible customer service, this is the place to call, but if you want reliable and safe transportation just take an uber, the HSR is even a better bet then Hamilton cab.

  • Sagheer B

Will never use them again, Ever! Terrible service, we had an early flight to catch from Pearson so booked a ride for 3am, driver was late and when he arrived, he seemed very grumpy and rude as if he did not want to wake up early. We had two large size suite cases, he just opened the trunk and pointed me to load them in, did not help at all. Car smelt of smoke and diesel fuel, my kids were struggling to breath so I opened the windows although that it was quite chilly that early in the morning. He drove like a maniac and I had to ask him to slow down there were young kids in the car and that his driving was making us all uncomfortable, he did not listen. It felt like as if we were being held hostages. What a terrible experience, never again!!!

A line of cabs were pre-paid for a wedding I attended. 16 cabs were supposed to arrive at 12:30pm to the venue. We had to wait close to an hour for only a couple of cabs to show, the rest showed up much, much later. When talking to dispatch, the lady said they were searching for cabs to send and was incredibly unprofessional and rude. This was totally unacceptable as this service was paid for in full prior to this event. Cabs should have been ready to go at 12:30. 40+ wedding guests ended up having to pay for Ubers to get back to the hotel or wait by the road for hours as the venue had closed. I hope the bride and groom get refunded in full. This was a frustrating way to end their perfect day.

I needed to book a rather long cab ride to Stratford Ontario because I couldn't quite get the Amtrak/VIARail timing down coming out of the US. I had some difficulties with the app, so I emailed Hamilton Cab directly. They replied to my emails immediately and were remarkably responsive to helping me get booked - they haven't found me a slight discount rate. I was able to book about when we can advance, and when it turns out my train arrived early they even sent the cab to get me earlier than scheduled. I've traveled all over the world and taken cabs on four continents, and I can honestly say this is the most professional and complete experience I have ever had taken a cab. Highly recommend!

My husband and I took a Hamilton cab to and from the hospital this morning. The first cab took a route that was under construction and even though traffic was at a complete standstill, he stayed on that route all the way there. A trip that should have taken 15 - 20 minutes ended up taking over 45. Also, the plastic partition between the front and back of the cab was torn in places, didn't reach the ceiling and had a huge hole right in the middle. How is this supposed to keep us safe? The cab home was much better; there were no problems and the driver was friendly and professional. However, I wasn't even home half an hour before I started getting spam texts from the cab company!

I had ordered a cab for my brother at approx 10pm to pick him up at 1am from Hamilton airport to bring him to Toronto. My brother waited an hour before they told him no vans were available. I called them back and was told that unfortunately there were only 2 vans working and that they weren’t going to pick him up. I don’t understand why I was told that there would be someone available at that time and that they would contact my brother when they were there when they didn’t actually have anyone available. Why say that it’s been booked and then cancel last minute at 2am. Now my brother is stuck in Hamilton with no way back to Toronto at 2am. Do NOT book with this company.

Little bit of snow on the ground and cab # 373 refused to drive up by the door to pick me up in a SUV, while leaving my drs appointment. Wouldn't want him to actually see a real snow storm. Had a difficult time trying to get to his vehicle. Then I had a difficult time trying to fasten my seat belt due to my right shoulder pain. Advised him, and he kept saying "wait sir. Wait sir." Kept driving. Finally got it fastened. Thanks Nicole for handling the call. Some of these drivers do not care. Thanks for understanding and taking him off the list, of not to pick me up in the future. 5 stars for Nicole - 0 for the driver Regards, Monty Lindsay Mugford

Certain things can set the tone for your whole day. I had one of those things this morning. I had to book a cab to go get some blood work done and see my pain specialist for my injections. Not things to look forward to. I called Hamilton Cab as they hold my account for ODSP. The dispatcher Billy answered and instead of saying Hamilton Cab, he answered saying "Hi Lis, what can I do for you today?" I made my reservation for a cab and he ended the call with "Have a good day dear". This made me so happy. I always get wonderful customer service from both the dispatch and the drivers but this went over and above. Thank you so much Billy. #HamiltonCab Lisa Zakrajsek

If I could give a negative star, I would. Booked ahead for a specific time to get my husband to his 65th birthday surprise dinner party. It was super hot, sitting outside for 20 minutes past the time and the tracker said 10 minutes. Called numerous times, finally got through the driver, who complained he knew nothing, promptly hung up and I called back repeatedly and Mohomad of the White Ford Focus ghosted us. We called Uber, there in 5 minutes. I was very upset as we were 30 minutes late and everyone was waiting for birthday boy. Oh and forget Burlington Taxi, they we CLOSED. Who closes a city taxi service? Why we called Hamilton Cab...never again.

I’ve had a few terrible experiences with this cab company. Twice I was told I had to prepay or no ride. One made me go to the bank machine so he was prepaid in cash. Once they did not show up at all. Finally yesterday my Autistic friend was denied entry for her 8 lbs service dog. The Dog had her service dog vest on and papers. It is the law that this service animal accompany her to keep her safe, in hospitals, on airplanes and yes in cabs. The lady spent the evening rocking in her room, feeling quite overwhelmed by this threat to her safety, her independence and her rights. Turns out this company is not even business bureau accredited.

Cab number 119 , is a horrible HORRIBLE driver and person. Texting while driving ,kept turning his head around to talk to me not paying attention to the road wouldn't follow my directions on where to go, driving super fast like gunning it than slamming his breaks on ,argued with me when I got upset with his behaviour and made me late for work because he kept screaming at me. I PAID and I made sure it said approved before I left that horrible car ,and apparently I've been "flagged" as not paying. I have been a loyal customer for a very long time and this is how I was treated. Not to mention the driver kept saying he started a week ago

  • Edwin Taubensee

So this trip, the driver almost caused a collision. The driver attempted to get in front of a transport truck on the Red Hill with traffic slowing to a stop. He had to jam on the brakes hard!! When we arrived at our destination he also refused the Taxi scrips as payment!! He refused the Taxi scrips because we "booked through the app!" which we have done many times before and never had an issue. The response from Hamilton Cab: This driver was disciplined. He should not have refused to accept taxi scrips and must drive very professionally How about a refund or some sort of goodwill offer? Uber is always such a better experience!

  • Churchill Park Clubhouse

I pre-booked a cab for 7:30 this morning so I could meet up with someone giving me a ride to a memorial service for a close relative. When you book a cab for 7:30 you expect a cab to arrive at 7:30. Instead, I got a message at 7:30 saying they are ‘assigning a driver’ but are experiencing a ‘high volume’ of calls and couldn’t say when a cab might arrive. My ride had to leave without me and I’m missing the memorial service which is heartbreaking for me. Why offer a pre-booking option if you won’t honour it? I’m missing a memorial service. Someone else might miss a job interview. You’re messing with people’s lives.

I was walking downtown today and it had been raining and a driver came so close to the side walk he hit a huge puddle and soaked me head to toe and sped off going way over the speed limit on main street. (I believe it was intentional). He wrecked my fairly new $500 phone which now won't turn on and all the paper I had in my purse. Not to mention two years ago one of their drivers nearly ran me over when I was crossing the street at a pedestrian right away. He didn't even look before turning or come to a stop at the stop sign. I would NEVER use Hamilton cab. I don't think half their drivers even have licenses.

  • Emma-Jean Rose

I booked a cab to move a few things from my old place to my new place for 10 PM on 12/22/22. I was following on my E bike. Part way through the trip the driver pulled over and demanded money which I thought was asinine as it's not a fix rate, so, I said you'll get paid once we get where we are going. This made the driver angry to the point he called the police. At this point, I'm outside, it's pouring rain, and I'm soaking wet, so I park my bike in some randoms drive way and I called blue line to go home so I could figure it out. Now the Cab company is refusing to give me back my property.

  • Heather vanHoof

Firstly, I can't understand why the meter can go up a whole dollar while we are sitting at a red light! I always thought that when you entered a cab that it was a fixed fee and then while moving, the cab fare would increase! Secondly, how is it that a driver who has earned the license to drive cab for a reputable company in Hamilton does not know the main street names and instead relies on a GPS! The GPS was taking us through a parking lot to the street! When I spoke up about it, all he could say was that was where the GPS told him to go! I don't find that very professional at all!

  • Jaime Dugandzic

Literally the worst company ever. Do NOT book on the app and probably best to use Uber. Customer service is horrible and they don’t provide a 20% discount like shown on the app and website. The total shown on the app was not accurate as I was charged $15 more after I got out of the cab. I pre booked my ride home on NYE and then 10 mins before my ride was supposed to pick us up, they called and said sorry we don’t pick up there and left us stranded. They took no responsibility and told me they would do nothing for me and hung up. I have 0 good things to say about them

  • Rebecca Yoshida

I had an excellent experience with the cab driver himself, I booked a head of time and he showed up early and got me to my destination. The cab driver was very polite and professional. I am very sad that the app automatically defaults to 0% tip without any prompt to change it. I called the company and they said there was nothing they could do and did not seem bothered. when I informed the customer service rep of this issue of it automatically defaulting to 0% tip, their response was “yeah that’s right”. Im so disheartened for this driver (and many more).

  • Jewels Drury

I booked a cab at 12 for a cab to pick me up just after 4 am. It was 4:30 and I called to ask relatively how long and it was still another 10-15 minutes. When I asked why it was such a long wait the operator was rude in telling me she doesn’t have any drivers. I waited another 20 minutes, so a total of over a half hour before I canceled and had a family member that was luckily able to pick me up. It’s a little ridiculous that I book a cab 3 hours in advance and they can’t have at least a driver ready to take the trip. Not using Hamilton cab ever again.

  • Jennifer Harris

Pre-booked a cab a month in advance to pick us up from a wedding at 12:50am. I called the company after the cab was 10 minutes late, only to be told that a cab hadn’t even been dispatched for us yet and that it would be a long wait time. I don’t understand why there’s even an option to pre book when they make you wait anyways? There’s literally no point in booking in advance, so just save yourself the time. We ended up waiting 50 minutes for a cab to pick us up. Absolutely horrible service. Will never be booking with this company again.

  • Betty Chi

I called a cab after 1 am and the woman had a party going on in her home, there was a super loud noise, and she said it was the neighborhood rooster! What kind of trashy taxi company had people like that working for them and both companies do Not take complaints serious! Solution? Stop taking taxis and take the bus when it is running, get a ride from a friend or relative, or stay home to keep money outta their pockets since they don't respect their customers! Do people Not care about professionalism, respect and classiness anymore?

  • Kathy Hong

Drivers of taxi company 7777 Hamilton please drive carefully. Currently 80% of taxi drivers of Hamilton 7777 taxi company illegally stop and park in violation of regulations on signs; 50% of drivers have an unfriendly service attitude, easily irritable and angry! Suggesting the taxi company management to review their drivers, Hamilton police must pay more attention to the drivers of the Hamilton 7777 taxi company to help the city of Hamilton civilized, polite and safe when participating traffic in the city of Hamilton. Thanks a lot !!!

  • Gavin Taylor

Failed to show for reservation and never notified me 7/1/22 called day before for 5 AM van ride to airport for my family. 5:05 AM I call them for ETA They say “vans are busy we cannot come”. I am outraged, how am I to get to airport? they say “reservations are not guaranteed”. I ask why they didn’t call to tell me, they have no excuse. Pathetic company, use at your own risk They sent a regular cab to pick us up and I am writing this message from the cab. I hope I make my flight, I have heard Hamilton airport is small and not too busy

  • Dianne Wall

Went out for breakfast with my family, saw an elderly couple standing outside. When we left the restaurant over an hour later they were still outside - I asked them if they were waiting for a ride and they said a cab was coming from Hamilton Cab. I called for them to find out where it was - dispatcher said no one was on their way because they couldn’t provide a phone number (the restaurant called on their behalf initially). Absolutely disgusting that they were ok with leaving an elderly couple stranded for well over an hour outside!

  • gsxr2556

We reserved two vans to take us to Hamilton airport. We called to verify since we did it on the app. The lady said everything is booked. On the day of our trip, the cabs never showed up. When we called, the guy says we don't have anything for you!!!!. Luckily Hamilton airport is only 12 minutes away and we have two SUVs to take the eight people that were waiting for the cabs. It cost us $336 for a week parking at the airport Never again will I ever use Hamilton cab for any services!!!. Take an Uber use blue these guys are a joke!!

  • Erica de Gannes

Hamilton Cabs cancelled my booking with NO prior notice. I had booked a trip online from Port Dover to Hamilton (a trip we had done in reverse two days prior). I spoke to someone from Hamilton Cabs the night before to confirm the booking and change the drop off point. When I called them in the morning to see why the driver was late, they advised me that there were no cabs in the area and they had no intention of honoring the booking, stranding me and two other travelers in Port Dover with no way to get back. Terrible service.

  • Heddle Heddle

This one star reflects the horrible driving practice of whoever drives cab 267 at 12:40pm on April 25th. Almost hit an HSR bus, cut off two cars weaving in and out of traffic at Barton and Ottawa St N. This man should be fired immediately. There are people and kids out walking at that corner, and his reckless driving could of ended in a fatality. Fire him. Zero reason to act that way only to turn up a side street two blocks later. He represents your company. So this is on you for not hiring more safety conscious drivers.

  • Courtney Gibson

It is absolutely ABSURD that I have to wait over 40 minutes for a wheelchair cab when I booked DAYS in advance!! And then to be told that they don’t usually have their wheelchair drivers on the road until 9am??? As if us people in wheelchairs don’t have a life before 9am!!!! If I prebooked this days ago they should have made sure they had someone available - now I’m going to end up being late!! They seriously need to rework their system and stop making it so difficult for wheelchair users to access their services!

  • Sean Cloutier

This company has some good drivers but I was extremely disappointed by some. It’s not the drivers that’s the issue it’s the company that’s allowing people to be picked up by individuals who don’t know the streets Hamilton a lot of times I’m asked where to go. And I’m getting the ride. Some more direction or information to be taught to individuals working here is something they should focus on. 7$ cab ride turns into 20$ because buddy wants to go around the whole town before arriving at the destination..

  • jen edmonds

I wish I could give a 0 star. I just booked a taxi half hour before hand so I wouldn't be late for work. At 848 when they said my cab was booked to BE HERE, they send something to say they are STARTING to search for a taxi. When I call to ask why they said "usually it's less then a minute wait, and we are backed up." Well they should order the taxi ahead of time not start searching at the time it should be there. Also, if it's backed up - then tell the person it won't be there at thT time.

  • Ayesha Zidane

Driver from 373 cab was very rude.he took a long way to make more money.he didn’t even greet me.when I asked about the way he took he start arguing with me that I am crying over 10 to 20 cents.I told him that I am regular customer who always $10 everyday and his bill was around $13 something.than he start talking rude.when I told him that I am gonna call Hamilton cab than he start saying sorry to me.absolutely ridiculous and nodding his head and giving me scaring looks are unbelievable.

  • Vangelyn Tomas

Not happy with the service! The driver was on the phone from the start of the pick up ( Pet Smart) until we reached the destination! I had a very big box of dog crate and a big bag of dog food and he didn't bother to help. He watched me struggle to load while he was busy with his call.Of course I had difficulties loading the items because I am short. He said he doesn't want to touch the items because of covid but he wasn't even wearing mask! He wasn't helpful at all! Cab number was 348!

  • Amie H

3-person sedan was listed as a 4 person car on the app - technical issues. As well our driver took the wrong way on purpose (twice!) to hike up the costs. We told him it was the wrong way and he continued on driving, it felt very unsafe as passengers in the car to not know where we are going. Customer service was unhelpful as a refund is not possible due to the money going directly into the cab drivers accounts. Overall bad experience, would rather take an Uber instead.

  • Cheryl Green

I only would like if the cab driver would not ask personal questions one after another ie."do you have kids? how many?how old are you?"ect. I enjoy light chit chat about weather, if they are busy or not, what's going on in the city ect. but I found it awkward and creepy. Learn good conversational skills for a pleasant ride. Some people may just like to not talk & listen to the radio. You're not my "friend". I'm paying you to do a professional service. Thank you!

  • Kyle A

This is a review for the company. They need to have better practices. Especially when raising your fares. I went to call a cab today and take my usual ride home. I the usual cost is 12-13$ give or take traffic. Today I got in the cab and when I reach my destination I am shocked to see it was a almost 18$. That is definatly a big change in fare with no notice. Will start avoiding this cab company. I will gladly wait the 25 mins next time for blueline cab.

  • Amanda Dale

My daughter had a medical emergency and needed her diabetic strips. The taxi had them to her in less than 15 minutes. How amazing they are!!!! She wanted to tip however her autistic son was screaming. The driver was so kind. Please tell him we appreciate what he did. Thank you so much. The app showed us when they were arriving which was reassuring during a medical emergency. Nice to see Hamilton Cab has come a long way over the years.

  • Veronica Badulescu

I am pleased with this company, but I have just one problem. To be more specific, is one driver that he charge more than what it cost. Every morning I call Hamilton Cab to pick up my son for school. Is this cab driver for 3 km he charge $ 20. Other drivers they charge between $ 10 to $ 12. Anyway, from now on I will reject this driver and ask for other one if it happens to be hkm when i order for cab to pick my son up for school.

  • HARSH BHOI

Worst service and worst people who drives Hamilton cab, you would think you can reach your destination on time but no these drivers will drive so slowly on purpose to get more money and would not care if you get late for work. Would not recommend Hamilton cab at all to anyone instead private riders are far better than these guys. I would give you negative stars if I could. ❌❌❌❌❌❌❌ Ban Hamilton cab

  • Regina Canini

If I could put -1 I would. Whatever you do do not prebook. They just ignore it and sometime around the time your taxi was booked for they might start looking for a driver. I have missed 2 appointments this week because the rebooked cab was over half an hour late!!! The supervisor gave me some garbage about it being the first cab available even though it was booked hours before and there is a taxi stand less than 2 k away!

  • Michelle Stirling

Been using this company for 15+ years and after today, I no longer will be. Needed to pick my child up from daycare. I called 20 minutes before needing to be there. After 45 minutes called to check what was going on. Was given no time of arrival. Panicking I called another company that were here with 20 minutes and I still had no word from Hamilton cab. Over an hour late to pick up a wee one is absolutely unacceptable.

  • Stormy Winters

Stayed in Hamilton 2 days for a wedding with family. This can company was the ONLY one (including Uber) who showed up, took us to our destination WITHOUT long expensive and unnecessary detours. even Uber abandoned my brother halfway through a round trip (left with his stuff), 45 min trying to get an Uber that wouldn't cancel and a stranger had to drive him back. If you're visiting Hamilton, only use Hamilton cab.

  • Sarah S

The Hamilton Cab web site clearly lists flat rates to the airport. When I called to book for the 38$ rate they had no idea what I was talking about. No awareness, no taking responsibility. Just: nope, it's a meter. Do you want to book? When I asked to leave feedback about the error on their web site it just rang and rang. And rang and rang. And rang. Do better please and stop wasting valuable customer time.

  • Silveria Marr

I ordered a cab from Hamilton cab and I must say that I was very impressed. The driver arrived on time, the driver was also polite and professional during the whole ride. Not only that the car was so clean the car looked brand new and smelled new but it wasn't the driver told me that the cars are constantly clean every day, which by way made the journey comfortable. I highly recommend taking Hamilton cab.

  • Courtney Holland

Saw that Hamilton Cab pulled up in front of my house today. Noticed that my neighbour across the street who is elderly (and has arthritis) was being assisted by his sister to the vehicle and fell. They both fell and were on the ground for a few minutes. The sister asked for help and the taxi driver drove away. Instead myself and the postal worker who was delivering Mail assisted. Do better Hamilton Cab!!!

  • Severina M

I only recently started taking Hamilton Cab and I am super impressed with their service. I am used to waiting a long time for taxis because I live outside the city, but with Hamilton Cab I have not waited more than ten minutes. Once, I got a cab in three minutes! Some drivers are friendly and chatty, others are more reserved, but they have all been responsible and good drivers. Cabs have been very clean.

  • Bonnie Ivall

I just took taxi 375 home from my night shift at St. Joseph's Hospital on Charlton,he is very rude He asked me a question I answered him and he very rudely replied in an unpleasant and unprofessional tone saying and I quote,"you didn't answer my question. My response was you don't have to be so rude and yes I did answer your question. He probably didn't hear my response because he was on his phone!!!

  • Nadia M

What I witnessed today was disgusting! I was at my place of work and had a patient who had been waiting for her ride with her son who is in a wheelchair for 3.5 hrs! When she was told 3 times it will be 20 min. When I called and had to wait 12 min to even get thru I was told another 20min!!?….They only have 2 wheelchair accessible cabs?? Are you kidding me?! Very sad! Terrible Terrible service.

  • Outta My Hoose

On god I'll never use this service again. Everytime I've ordered from this cab service theres never any cabs available, everytime I'm forced to wait 25-35mins regardless of the conditions outside. Only so the cab driver can continuously call me on my non-ringing phone, which ultimately ends up with the DRIVER cancelling the ride. After a long day at work.. dealing with this is outright pathetic

  • MnM

I was visiting Canada and staying in Hamilton. Someone recommended Hamilton cabs and their charge varies didn't make sense. Once I booked Hamilton cabs to go Milton and taxi driver spoke to operator and she said 75 dollars same day some recommended to book lyft or uber and and was shocked to see the difference in charges. HAMILTON CABS ATE RIPOFF DO NOT USE THEM ESPECIALLY OF YOU ARE VISITOR.

  • Marion Cauldwell

Usually I use Hamilton cab and have great service but today was not one of those days.. I am a senior and I use a walker I waited at the back of the car to get help and what I got was the trunk popped open and he sat inthe car Those things are heavy and awkward but I had to do myself even though I did ask for help… so car 328 thanks for all your help both picking up and dropping off

  • sabrina bilsborough

Would not recommend at all the cab driver had no idea where he was going so he kept missing turns and caused additional charges due to the drivers inability to use a GPS. Also almost got in three accidents during this trip due to him not paying attention before making turns. I feel bad my dad paid for this awful service when clearly we were put at risk with this company's driver.

  • Jessika-Leigh Carr

The drivers are generally nice, and pleasant to speak with. Often quite punctual, (ACTUALLY ALMOST ALWAYS), arriving within a timely fashion. Most drivers are fairly patient with me (seeing as I ALWAYS TAKE FOREVER DOING ANYTHING! AND THEY ARE ALMOST ALWAYS LEFT WAITING ON ME... NOT INTENTIONALLY however,)± Of course you ALWAYS get that one A$$¿☆£€ who's ignorance is blatantly ×

  • Callum Brown

I ordered a cab by calling. I was talking to a computer and when I was done I got a text confirming my pick up. It showed me the name the car type etc, but no driver on the GPS they provide. I didn't know wether I would be picked up or not. All of a sudden after 10 mins it changed the driver and said he was 10 mins away. The driver was a nice guy tho. It was an okay experience.

  • slagVillain Haskins

Today Car #32 driving recklessly on the QEW Highway. Older Indian gentleman with glasses buried in his phone, not paying attention at all. Driving 75km/h in the HOV lane by himself, then swerving all over the road around Ford Drive because of his Phone (distraction). Hamilton Cabs going to have a lawsuit on their hands if that vehicle #32 driver is to hit anyone. Unbelievable.

  • marc wilken

Thank you Hamilton cab team! They went out of there way not just in the retrieval of my daughter's cell phone, but keeping it secure until we could prove it was hers. This could not have been easy because we live three hours away - and I'm certain new-years eve was very hectic. A special thank you to Jagtar, and who actually paid to have her iphone shipped to our house!

  • Brian Loughlean

Very poor service. Called a cab and was told it would be 5 to 10 minutes wait, which was okay. Waited for 45 mins and called again. They said at that point that a cab had not yet been dispatched to the Hamilton airport, which is unacceptable! That kind of service will put you out of business. I ended up getting a different cab company that was there in a few minutes.

  • M

I waited around 40 min for a cab to arrive i had a cart full of groceries... 30 min goes by no text confirmation nothing! I called them a second time. 10 min later still nothing. So i decided to call blue line they showed up within 3 minutes. I got home put groceries away and suddenly I get a text from Hamilton cab over 1 hour later that its on its way ‍♀️

  • Tinashe Wingfield

I never rate horrible experiences but this one felt important. Perhaps it's just my expectations mismatched but to me a cab company should have a dispatcher system available to send cabs in a time efficient manner. This company has a voicemail I left my pick up address and 25mins later no cab showed up! My son and I just ended up having to walk in the rain.

  • marcus b

Unbelevable, im old, as I waited over twenty minutes on hold just to be told cab we be twenty minutes before they, came for pickup, while waiting I actually signed up for an uber acvounct and they were her 3 mins after ter dispatch answered phone. Steadfast for maby years trying to support taxi companies but have learned tonight why nobody uses them anymore

  • 369JIMMYJAM

The cab driver got lost trying to find East 33rd. Then called telling us he was here but was on 34th and when we told him he was on the wrong street he kept saying I go a few more houses up we then told him several times he was on the wrong street for him to get angry and hang-up. Unbelievable a cab driver that can't find a numbered street absurd

  • sandra elves

I took a taxi home from work using the app which says you get 10% off. The ride was 44.00 but they charged my card 60.48. This is the second time this has happened. After the cab driver canceled my ride and dispatch telling me it was a long wait. I called an uber. The cab company still charged me 20.00 even though no cab ever came to pick me up.

  • Dez Toney

i was waiting 40 minutes for a cab, I call them and ask them how long the wait time would be and they told me it would be another 40 minutes. they never had anybody contact me to tell me a wait time and when I called to ask why that was, they blamed it on it being an automated voice message system. if I could give them a 0 star rating I would.

  • Evaah's Reviews

Good service, as in its there when you need it . Times where there might be a long wait like up to 30 mins to an hour is holidays , stormy weather , and anytime around 3 pm is super long wait. The reason I gave 2 stars is because 40 percent of the time the cab drivers don't even say hi or anything .. less costumer service then it used to be.

  • richard m

You call for a cab. You get automated system. Finally tells you cab on the way. Waited 27 minutes before leaving this spot. Second time same thing. Then we found out from a human they were an hour wait, And I hate uber. Hamilton cab socks as far as I am concerned as a visitor to the hammer this is my best response. Not that they will care.

  • Kylie Wolfenden

Our cab driver reversed into another car after not wanting to wait at the light. He revered hoping to cut through the parking lot. He spoke quickly with the other driver and then got in, quickly apologized and took us to our destination. I still had to pay for the ride, and he made no effort to see if me or the other passenger were okay.

  • Wesley Matthee

Hamilton Cab is useless. I ordered a 16:30 cab to Pearson a day in advance. When they did not show up I called in and they said they were on the way which was a lie. When I called 15min later they said that a driver had not been dispatched. So they basically failed to deliver and lied to me. Hamilton Cab is unreliable and untrustworthy.

  • Rob Dale

DEBIT MACHINE IS DOWN SCAM!!!!! Says his machine is down and then asks us to etransfer him. So we did and then an hour and a half later he shows up at our door as we are getting ready for bed and says it didn’t go through but it did on our bank account. NEVER TRUST THEM WHEN THEY SAY THE MACHINE IS DOWN! Thats their problem, not yours.

  • Julie Shea

Ordered a pick up and arranged it the day before. It was to get us to our train. They arrived over ten minutes late and we had to cancel. The dispatcher was very rude when I called to see where our cab was. Not sure how a cab is late for a pre booked time. Especially if that is your business. If you want a reliable pick up don’t use.

  • Carrie AP

Doesn't even deserve 1 star. I traveled all the way from another city to make my child's hospital appointment. Called the cab at 1:15 it is now 2:28 and still not here. I missed the appointment thanks to this cab. Worst taxi service I ever used in my life. Also the lady on the phone you're rude and probably should grow up. …

  • Milan olexicak

I was told the delivery service is going to be 15 dollars but when taxi driver delivered the package he was asking me much more for the delivery and if I don't pay then I'm not going to receive my package. Black mailing me . It's pretty bad for me because I'm on ODSP and I don't have much money. People be aware of this company.

  • Stephen Ross

The app is great! Oppose to the idea of the drivers lost commission for the incentive. . But it is what it is. Usually when I use the app, it's disturbed duration will vary the time of day. Drivers are usually chill(they usually will mirror ypur treatment) Thank you for being there when I ride. Thank you also, to the dev team.

  • samantha kemp

I got off on the wrong side at the train station at Aldershot couldn't figure out how to get to where I parked my car and a really sweet Taxi driver from this company (wish I got his name) helped me out! I was by myself and freaking out. Took me straight to my car for free and told me to get home safe. Can't thank him enough!

  • Branton Kornelsen

Was on time all good. But the car WAS VERY UNSAFE!!!!!. I tried to explain to driver didn’t seem to want to admit or lack of English didn’t understand. But tht Ford Fusion needs to go to shop ASAP. We havnt prayed as hard as we did today for long time. Very scary onces on highway swerved like crazy. …

  • Ryan C

Pre-booked a cab to Aldershot for 8:30 AM. Literally the only reason anyone would use a cab anymore. Did they show up on time? Nope. Almost half an hour late. Driver was ok, and we tipped him as such. The app and the pre-booking process is garbage. Just book an Uber and save yourself the stress.

  • Steven F

Booked a taxi three days before I needed it at that time to catch the train. No where does it say that they can’t guarantee the pick up time when booked. When I called they didn’t really seem to care. Then they wonder why companies like Uber and Lyft are killing them. Will never use them again!

  • allan wheeler

Found out after not using a cab for a few months that the starting rate for a van is 10$ more after the fact. Nothing said while ordering but mentioned after I asked why it was so hi. Also driver didn't help or pull in my drive way. Had 6 cases of water and had to hike it from my neighbors.

  • Sareena Hayes

For some reason the debit machine in the cab wasnt working. I stayed outside with the driver for about 15mins wile he turned it off and on ect..Still couldnt get it to work. I told him to come back later for the cash. This was Friday. Today is Tuesday, and he just called me for the money !

  • Tee Balaban

The cabs I’m in always are super dirty or smell disgusting! I haven’t had one clean cab with this company. I had a cab backseat completely covered in dog hair, I had to go to work and was wearing all black. Also the amount of virus going around they should be cleaning all these vehicles.
