Yesterday was the first time that I went into Hand and Stone for a Brazilian waxing (I've gone for a massage in the past and it was great) but this time, for the waxing, I can say it was the worst experience that I have ever had. The lady who waxed me Didnt seem like she knew what she was doing because it took her 3 tries, on one side, to remove the hair (my hair was a little bit longer than an inch which is basically the length that it has to be.), she even tried using hard wax, which I just found out from my girl, who is a certified esthitician, and from the bruise and severe rash that I got, that it is the worst wax that you can use for a Brazilian. Also, I am not new to getting brazilians and this time was way more painful than the first time that I had it done. Once I started paying attention to her technique, I noticed that she was ripping the wax off the same way that she applied it. Even I know that's not how it's supposed to be done. I asked her how long she had been doing waxings for and she said about a year. So I asked her to stop. she then applied an after cream and it burnt so bad because she had ended up taking layers of skin off as well, I jumped up and started washing off with water right away and all she did was laugh as she exited the room. She couldnt even provide me with an oil that I could use to finish taking the wax off so I had to drive home with a sticky vag and use oil once I got home. Her manager did not make me pay for the waxing but It is still not worth the pain, the bruise, missing skin, and half ass job that I received. I will never go here again for a waxing. She is not experienced enough or knowledgeable enough to even be working with wax. I am not one to make written complaints but this needs to be known. And maybe it will save someone else from the torture.

My sister has had a few facial massages at that establishment which she enjoyed. Knowing that I suffered from chronic migraines, she gave me a gift certificate for my birthday in July. My appointment was today, August 31/21 and I was excited to get a facial massage for the first time. When I arrived, I told the receptionist that I was there for a facial massage and she told that I was getting the full treatment. I filled out all the forms, and when I get in the room, Jessica & I talked about my skin sensitivity and my allergy with scents. She went on to tell me that everything they used were scented. I told her that so many people had scents allergies and thought they would consider that. She said that I was the first person that she had ever encountered with that problem, which I discounted. She then told me that there was a line for sensitive skin that she could use but it costs $20 extra. I told her that it didn’t seem that I had a choice but to pay that extra amount. After I agreed, she went on with the treatment. I was so disappointed that I didn’t receive a facial massage but a facial. I called my sister to tell her how disappointed I was. She immediately called the place and the receptionist told her that they didn’t offer facial massage because of covid, as masks have to be kept on. Such a lie, because I was told to take off my mask and had it off the whole time. Receptionist also told my sister that I even upgraded, which was another lie. The people there appear to be very dishonest. I will never go there again and would not recommend them to anyone. What a waste of money and time. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!!

I got my sister a gift card for her birthday. Based on the great reviews of the services, I’m sure their services are great. The gift card was enough for a facial and an extra add on for the facial. Purchasing the gift card itself seemed a little complicated on their end at the time of purchase. My sister explained to me she had issues when trying to book the facial over the phone as well. Fast forward to her appointment today: the treatment went great, but when she got to the counter to pay, the clerk said she only had $28 on the gift card. She messages me in a panic. I sent her my statement which lists the charge of $163.79 from Hand and Stone. She shows the clerk the statement, as well as the original receipt (which i had given to her along with the gift card as anyone does when they gift a certificate of the sort). The clerk tells her not to worry about payment today, takes the gift card and my original receipt (why would they take my original receipt and gift card?!). She told my sister she would speak to the manager and get back to her. My sister only ended up getting a regular facial, so there should have been some money left over on the gift card after payment on top of the main issue. Again, why would staff take the customer’s money and original receipt??? The clerk could have easily taken a picture of the original receipt. I’m very dissapointed in mine and now my sister’s experience. This was supposed to be a nice relaxing gift for her as she works 2 jobs and has three kids. I will be following up in the morning.

I was a client for a long time. During covid I asked that my account be put on hold indefinitely because I wasn't using the services. When I contacted them again I was told that I had missed 5 payments (so they didn't put it on hold and my card must have expired) and instead of rectifying this, I lose the approximate 12 massages I had already paid for, with no reimbursement. I can understand cancelling a membership for missed payments, but to also take the value of the massages I had already paid for and not allow it to be used towards services or merchandise at its regular price is unacceptable. I feel like they stole from me. Horrible business model. The manager said they would send me a copy of the contract but of course that was never received. I was told they tried contacting me which I do not believe is true, I have had the same number for 30 years. Very disappointing that a company like this can treat loyal customers this way.

Had a facial here for the first time 2 weeks ago and I can’t express how disappointed I was. I was informed the facial would be 1hr15 minutes and in total it was around 40 minutes. I was told to show up 15 minutes early because it was my first time, but the form took 3 minutes and I sat there for another 15 minutes doing nothing. I was picked up a few mins after my scheduled appointment time, and sat with the woman while she asked me questions about my skin which took way too long. My facial then started 10 minutes later (so now we’re 13 mins into the appointment time) and finished after exactly 40 minutes. The extractions were painful, there wasn’t enough steam used. To top it all off, the woman doing my facial smelled strongly of food as though she had just had lunch. Yuck.

Ashley on the Reception team is great! She was extremely knowledgeable and patient with my many questions pertaining to my membership. I had the honour of getting a hot-stone massage with Gabriel, and let me tell you, he knows his stuff! He was able to get knots out I did not realize I even had. I mentioned prior to the massage that I work-from-home, and he was able to relieve all pain relating to sitting all day. He even took the time to show me a couple of exercises that I can do at home, so that my muscles do not get too tense in between my next massage. Thank you Ashley and Gabe for being so amazing! Will absolutely return, and I have already begun recommending this location to my friends! I am already excited for my next massage.

I booked almost two months ago for a couples massage. They called a week before to say the appointment had to be changed from 6pm to 8pm. They said the massage therapist wouldn't get a proper length of break so they had to push it later....definitely overbooked themselves I guess. It was a bit late for us but we agreed. The evening of the appointment they called us at 6:15pm wondering where my husband was for his appointment... I said they changed our appointment for 8pm. She said that was just for me. I was confused... why would they split our appointments and not tell us.... defeated the purpose of a couples massage! Told them I was very disappointed and not coming for 8pm alone. I will never go there again! Ruined our evening:(

Bonjour, hier je suis allée pour un excellent massage avec Gabriel (toujours excellent). Par contre, mon expérience était presque ruinée : mon massage était à midi et 2 personnes (employés) parlaient fort (ou sans hésitation). J'ai demandé à Gabriel si on était à côté de la salle de dîner - il disait qu'on était à 2 ou 3 portes - wow trop fort. Soit que les salles soient insonorisées ou que les gens chuchotent mais je ne vois pas comment on peut relaxer. J'étais vraiment déçue. Je trouvais déjà le massage douloureux à cause des noeux de tension et je n'ai pas pu relaxer à cause du bruit. Comme j'y vais 1 fois par 6 semaines seulement, j'aimerais que mon heure soit relaxante. Merci, J. Bergeron

First time getting a massage here, I was looking forward to it and super excited that they could get me in last minute, but the masseuse talked throughout the ENTIRE appointment. I’m very disappointed in the service, was the complete opposite of relaxing. I’m educated in fitness and health and they spewed incorrect anatomical nonsense to me the whole time. Felt more like she was trying to educate me then massage me.Waste of time and waste of money. I told the front desk and receptionist was great. Wishing I asked for a refund!

If you have not booked a service at Hand and Stone yet.....what are you waiting for? You will be well received at the reception desk and offered a refreshing water and a comfortable waiting area. Then if you've had the presence of mind of booking a massage with Phillipe, you will be given a most enjoyable experience. My knots and tightness were worked on efficiently and effectively. Phillipe has such a relaxing and comfortable voice that I found the time flew by. I will definitely return and you should most definitely call ;)

This was my first time at Hand and Stone. I got a facial with Alex, and she was absolutely incredible! I felt so at ease with her, and she was very informative with all of the products she was applying to my skin. She was genuinely interested in hearing about previous facial treatments that I had received, and she even provided new insight into my skin that I had never known! I left feeling refreshed and incredibly calm. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is interested in treating themselves to a message or a facial.

My husband and I went for the couple's massage today. It was the best massage experience either of us have ever had. This place is great for people with mobility issues as their beds lower and raise. Therapists are mindful of your body needs, providing towels and pillows to prop you up for maximum comfort. The ambiance is super relaxing. The price is great, especially if you consider signing up for their membership. This is our new spot. Thank you Michael and Gabriel!

My first experience at Hand & Stone was unbelievable. My RMT Michael was attentive to my needs, and actually relieved my tension headache significantly during my visit. The ambiance was lovely, the reception staff helpful and kind. The value for the pricing is absolutely amazing. Hand & Stone Massage is the place to go for a great relaxing massage or other product. I'm a customer at this place and planning to stay there for a long time. It was my 2nd time at this spa. I tried their micro dermabrasion for the 1st time. The estitician is very knowledgeable. She answered my questions right away as I was curious about what I was feeling during the treatment. She is very calm and she told me what is happening and what I need to do at home. Received a facial that went well. I was overcharged and only noticed at home. Emailed them stating they owe me 20+$ refund and they replied saying they woukd have manager look into it. Never got refund, followed up twice and they are now ignoring my emails. I hope this bad review was worth the 20$ that is actually mine. Dont reccomend.

Today I went in for my massage and a woman was yelling at the receptionist to give her 10% of eye cream. The receptionist, Paige, was so polite and patient with her! She was so professional considering this woman was being extremely rude. I was impressed with how she handled it! And of course, my Himalayan salt massage was excellent !

What a fantastic first experience at Hand and Stone in Orléans. The receptionist Ashley, is very welcoming and kind. Sabina, the massage therapist who I booked with was friendly and knowledgable, she addressed my sore neck and back. I will be back next month for a massage and facial. Great experience at Hand & Stone Orléans as always! Phil addressed all the muscles on my back that were tight and relieved them and felt very relaxed after it. Very friendly front desk and manager. It is always a pleasure stop by to get relaxation massage every month.

A very relaxing and comforting environment. Staff are great. Marie-Claire is a wonderful massage therapist. After only 1 treatment, I was pain free for the first time for 48 hours. Onto my 2nd appointment and looking for a full recovery from pain.

The location is clean and some of the therapists are very good. However, it is next to impossible to get an appointment- especially if you are looking for an evening or weekend. There also seems to be a high turn over with therapists.

My husband and I showed up for massages that I booked weeks in advance only to be told that they had no record of our appointments. Both staff members were unhelpful, defensive and unapologetic. We won’t be trying again!

Their appointment system is hit or miss, i.e. Give us an approximate date & time, and maybe we'll have an opening, maybe not. I prefer other massage sites that allow you to check availability and book accordingly.

Visited this spa a month ago for a massage and facial. The massage therapist and aesthetician were professional. Unfortunately, my facial was not done properly and I will not return to this spa for any service.

I received a gift card at Christmas for a prenatal massage (first pregnancy), and decided it was time to use it (now 34 weeks). It was amazing, and so relaxing. The service was great and the staff was friendly!

I ask if the therapist was vaccinated, was told it was a personal choice, even after I told them I was recovering from cancer. My personal choice is to take my money elsewhere.
