Please, for those of you who care about your pets, DO NOT send your dogs here while this man I am describing is still working here. I used to shop here all the time because they had good organic treats for reasonable prices and a good selection of Ruff Luv clothes. My friend and I came in to browse and we watched the small dog play area and saw the "tech", as they call their employees, be aggressive with all of the dogs. He picked them up by their throats, and a couple of them by their necks, which I understand, but them he would fling them across from a couple of feet in the air without crouching down. And I'm talking about tiny dogs with potential knee and hip issues who shouldn't be landing on their legs after being thrown in the air. He hit a couple of dogs who got extra loud as I came closer to the window and would roll his eyes when the woman in the large dog area would say something to him. A dog had peed on the floor and he grabbed the mop to clean it up and A Cavalier King Charles had followed him to put it back and he hit the dog with the dirty mop!! While I was watching this, another man had made a comment to the staff and "Charlene" claimed it was natural to be picked up by the scruff and they were just "playing". As I was leaving, my friend saw the web cams and said, "so that's why that guy keeps sitting in that corner, the camera isn't on him!", I had noticed the web cam is only on the slide and no dogs hang out there, they are either in the "time out jail", or sitting by it with the "tech". I watched for another minute and a Maltese had peed near the slide, the "tech" walked over and kicked it, where it fumbled and slammed on its back into the slide, the "tech" then got the broom, walked toward to a cream French bulldog sniffing the pee, and kicked it and my friend and I gasped really loud. Once again, Charlene claimed they were "just playing", and I clarified that the MAN in the room KICKED the Maltese and frenchie. She walked over to him, said something to him and he nodded his head. I was really upset about this so I called them and asked about the situation, and once she asked if my dog was a client of theirs, and I had answered "no", all common courtesy went out the window. I asked her if they were animal lovers or if this was just a job to them, she claimed the French bulldog went after the broom and he HAD to kick the dog, what a lie!! I reiterated what I saw, and she said they were understaffed and he must've been overwhelmed, but they still had to run a business. After raving about her online reviews and the fact they had a web cam, she said she was just a supervisor and the manager had to deal with him. PLEASE DO NOT SHOP HERE OR BOARD YOUR PET HERE.
A family member worked there, was bitten by a large aggressive dog - please do not believe them when they say they keep aggressive dogs separate from your little Maltese or Yorkie. She was bitten at 11 am - her shift was 7 am to 4 pm. By law she was supposed to be sent to the emergency room immediately. When she offered to show the manager a picture of the bite, (it was in a semi-private area), he didn't want to see it. Though she was bitten by an AGGRESSIVE dog at 11 am, and was not sent to the ER, they let her go home 15 minutes before her shift ended - meaning they had her work about another 5 hours. She was scared to go without permission because she needed the job. The day after the hospital called to request rabies certificates for the dog, they fired my daughter. GOOD LUCK LEAVING YOUR DOG AT HAPPY PAWS. Hope that an "aggressive" dog they claim is in its own kennel doesn't eat your puppy.
NEVER bring your cat there to be groomed! I specifically asked to have my cat groomed just a little bit shorter then I usually do (I have been here 4 times) NOT a tiger cut, I SPECIFICALLY said to the guy at the desk..NOT a tiger cut...I went to pick her up and they completely shaved her...here I am two weeks later, I have had to bring my cat to the vet because they cut her and it is infected...when I went to the store to speak to the manager...they took zero responsibility for any of this and tried to blame me!!! The customer!!!...Please do not take your cat or dog to be groomed there....terrible service, and worst of all this has costed me a small fortune!! I will never be a customer ever again
Way overpriced ($72 with tax) for what we got (just a basic bath/brush/expressing/nails). Didn’t even do an adequate job on my dogs nails. My dog is a recent rescue with long quicks because no one had cut her nails for a long time/they grew out. Happy Paws kinda trimmed them but I can see where they 100% could’ve gone a little further AND they left the nails with a really jagged edge so now they are now really sharp and hurt. I wouldn’t have minded if it was closer to $50, but I can do the same bath/brush myself and get my vet to do expressing/nail trim for so much cheaper. I chose a groomer because I thought they would do a more thorough job. Really sad and disappointed.
Objective Story: I brought our little dog to Happy Paws this afternoon. Our little guy was so nervous that he pooped in his carrier. I paid $122.00 for the grooming with a tip and they gave me a hard time about cleaning the poop. They said their policy is that it's "at their discretion." We are regular customers, been coming for years with two dogs. Finally, they agreed to rinse it off with no soap. A nice employee provided sanitary wipes and I wiped the feces that was left over myself. And the grooming was subpar compared to groomings there in the past. Maybe it's new management? That's our story. You decide what you would expect for your $122.00, lol
restocked some food for my kitten & for the most part they have alotttt more dog stuff than cats and an even smaller selection of kitten stuff they did have my all time favorite kitten food (weruva) and it was 1.35 per can v the place i usually go to is a bit pricer so i’m happy for that! picked up some treats as well & i love that they have in store exclusive treats, great and amazing ingredients as well for a lot of the smaller family owned brands :)!! will definitely be coming back for the good deals on cat treats & food, just wish they had a bigger selection of!
I went today to get some treats for my dog, and after I paid for the merchandise, the girl was nice but the guy obviously don't care about loosing business when he tells me if I don't have a mask don't come in. I told him, because his lack of education in customer service, I will go to other places where I am not ask to obstruct my airways with a mask that are not manufactured to be use for prolonged times. I am very healthy and glad to go somewhere more polite and respectful to everyone. Thank you, but I will stay away from your fearful employees. I am at ease!
Ok first let me start by saying EVERYTHING IN that store is WAY OVER PRICED.(AND I DON'T LIKE WHEN I MENTION THE PRICING ON A PARTICULAR ITEM 150.00 FOR A BACK PACK TO CARRY THE DOG ,AN THEY REPLY WELL LOOK WHERE YOU ARE .) MEAN WHILE I'M NO WHERE SPECIAL. MY BOY FRIEND BOUGHT HIS LITTLE BUDDY .I HAVE A LITTLE TOY YORKIE HE SPENT $39.99.DONT GET ME WRONG IT WILL FOR SURE KEEP HIM WARM ON THE COLDEST OF COLD DAYS THIS WINTER .BUT I HAD BEEN BROWSING THE DOG STORES THAT HAVE CLOTHING AND SAW THE SAME ITEM FOR HALF THAT PRICE. SO GO FIGURE.
My dog has absolutely LOVED Happy Paws since the new owner Allen and his team have taken over. They are all so attentive to her needs and she loves it so much she pulls me to go in every time and we are regulars for day care. They have so many additional day care features (relief walks and drop off at home) and enrichment activities for the dogs it’s the absolute BEST day care in the neighborhood since we used to go to one that sadly had to close. We would recommend Happy Paws to anyone in the neighborhood who needs day care their pups!
I was quite impressed with this place. From what we observed everything seemed to be kosher with all the pets. I never saw (in person or over the webcam) any acts of aggression by employees. If I had, I would be the first in line to raise hell. But they were so kind, patient, and caring to our frenchie...as they were to other dogs there. I recommend this place as a great choice for pet owners wanting to ensure that their pet is given a fun, clean place to stay while they're are away!
Just dropped off my pup! Everything was so smooth and everyone there was super helpful, extremely nice, and thorough. They walked the facility with me and showed me everything talking about their process and what they do for each of the dogs and their walks! So far so incredible! I'll bb this afternoon the leave a full review, but initially everything was clean, they have all three supplies there in case you need some, their prices are superb for anywhere!!
I asked for my dog to be groomed I specifically ask for him to look cute. The groomer asked me cute or short you can’t to both. I said cute and short it’s been done before at an other establishment. He said he will try.... bro it looked like they only trimmed his nails gave him a bath and brushed his hair forward and gave my dog bangs. I don’t even think they cut his hair. This place is a joke. I will never come back here. How are you guys still open?
Very inconsistent in their stock level for frozen cat food. As it's generally not a good idea to switch up your cat's diet regularly, this presents a problem. About every other time I visit, they have zero stalk of anything but the most expensive types. Each time I'm told they'll talk to the buyer, and have 'em "step it up." Definitely call first to see if they've got your retype, or better yet, find a spot that can regulate their stock levels.
I brought my standard poodle, Rosie here for a groom and at first when I picked her up she looked so fluffy and clean. It wasn’t until a few days later when her fluffy hair started deflating, that I discovered she had clipper burn on her hind leg. The staff NEVER notified us and tried to hide it by fluffing up her hair. I had to bring her to her vet, who said it’s likely her hair in this spot will not grow back!! DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE!!
Our Dog loved her stay at Happy Paws and we were really impressed with the service. The Puppy Cam was perfect for checking up on our dog and we were really happy with how the carer's looked after her & gave her so much attention. Allen looked after our cat too and went out of his way to make sure everything went smoothly. This place is great and I highly recommend for anyone who needs trustworthy and reasonably priced pet care.
We would highlight recommend Happy Paws. The staff is wonderful & loving. They really care about the pups in their care & even told us about Max licking his paws while at daycare. The inground pool is awesome & the facility is super clean. Our pup had a blast. We were staying in Lake Buena Vista & commuted over two hours daily to bring our dog Max for daycare while we were here. Max can’t wait to come back.
I’ve been taking my two Poms here for about a year now, and I refuse to go anywhere else. The staff is helpful and friendly, and most importantly, the groomers are phenomenal. Lydia and Ruby are SO good at their jobs. My boyfriend and I now take our miniature schnauzer here too, and we couldn’t be happier with the final result when we go to pick him up. 100% would recommend.
Total waste of time. First, no AC, wonder how the dog feels. Lousy customer service. Second, They don’t take responsibility for the misinformation they give out. Such as: how long will it take? And blame the customer. And to really stick it to the customer, they charged $70 for a bath. Can you give negative stars? A black hole? Not a good choice. And unpleasant at that.
We love them! Our dog loves them! He goes for haircuts and is beside himself excited when we walks in. I can't say they love him as much as us bc our dog is dramatic and barks and cries when he is away from us. But, they are very good sports about and usually don't say more than, "he's very talkative!" That's a nice way to put it. Thanks for giving him great haircuts!
I have been coming to Happy Paws for about 10 years and I have always been satisfied with the grooming and the day care services they provide for my dog. You can tell that they definitely are animal lovers here and take a special interest in making sure that my dog is happy. I definitely recommend their services and their products. Thank you.
Me and my husband bring my 2 cats for nails trimming, Allen is super helpful, we went there after the groomer left but he willing to teach us how to trim cats nails at home. He turns our nightmares into a sweet dream. We’re really thankful. Also, the pet store offer a great selection for cats, we love this place ;)
Although we were sad to hear our long-time groomer Lydia moved to Florida, we were happily impressed with Esteban, who joined the Happy Paws grooming staff. He gave our Havanese a great summer cut, and finished the job with the cutest tropical neck tie (above and beyond). Looking forward to our next visit.
Terrible treatment by staff and ownership. Ruined my dog's hair, did the exact opposite of what inasked for. Wouldnt take responsibility for a shattered spirit and shaking dog still after 3 days from the hair cut. Do not recommend in fact will be notifing bbb of this shaddy business.
I when there today and saw 2 poor dogs alone one going in circles like crazy and the other one chewing a hard metal plate.... i.speak to a lady that came from inside with a dog that that dog need a toy... and she answer talk to the front lady... very disappointed....
I was buying some dog treats and witnessed the dog handlers yelling and screaming at the dogs and slamming the cages. I would not recommend this place as a happy place to leave your dog for day care. All the dogs were distressed!
They are wonderful! I never think twice, or worry when I need to leave my baby with Happy Paws. He is loved and well taken care of. You can even request a walk time which for those of us who live with routines, it is a God send.
We have our (very nervous) dog groomed by Victor who is the BEST.... He understands our dog's temperament and grooms accordingly, being incredibly gentle and always leaves him looking like a million bucks! :-)
Great local pet store that does a good job grooming. We have a small toy poodle, and she always comes out looking fantastic. It’s on the pricier side, but what can you expect for soho, it’s worth it.
Happy Paws have become my go to for grooming and boarding. Being able to watch your pet through their live cams is reassuring! If your dog is due for bordatella shots, they can do this in-store!
I love this place! Usually pet stores seem to cater more toward dogs. But this place had an amazing variety of food , clothes and toys for cats!!! Very pleased. And super cute outfits!!!
I take my dog there to get groomed. They’re very nice and affordable in comparison with other groomers near by. Also — I was surprised at the prices of their dog food and treats.
Prices on boarding and goods are kinda high but grooming is affordable and they beat most of the other places in the area. They are now my go to.
Friendly staff. Great customer service. Great selection of food, treats, toys. Everything you need to keep your furry friends happy and healthy.
I buy cat supplies here. They’ve got everything I need. Everyone who works there is nice. It isn’t cheap but it’s Manhattan what can you do.
I just want to say that Alan who works there was great. Very nice guy. He helped me out during an emergency and I am forever grateful.
I keep checking Groupon for another Groupon coupon from Happy Paws I Was So Satisfied I don't want to go anywhere else
My dog Chicken is obsessed with Quincy. Thank you for taking care of my little peanut at Doggie Daycare!
My large breed dog gets a bath there. Staff seems nice. He looks and smells good. No complaints. Thanks
love the staff. I have been going to Happy Paws for years and appreciate the care and love for my dog.
Lydia is the best groomer there, I have recommended her so many times and all have raved about her.
I love Happy Paws! They take great care of my pets and I would definitely recommend.
Shop was nice. Limited toys for small dogs though. Will visit again if in the area
