Judge Israel B. García completely ignored a lease contract where tenants miserably failed to return the property in proper condition as agreed on the lease contract. Some images attached in this review. I brought plenty of evidence property was damaged beyond normal wear and tear including reputable companies’ opinions of the reasons of such destruction and at NO TIME Judge Israel B. García questioned the tenants about the long list of damages. Instead, he questioned me about tenants’ complaints that the property had issues such as the cooktop not working, the carpet dirty and even mold!!! So, Judge Israel B. García looks at me and he goes what about all tenants’ complaints? My response was I didn’t know what they were talking about. Then he allowed plaintiffs to let me see pictures they brought, and I replied this was new to me and that anyway I never received any complaint in writing. Do you want to know the answer from Judge Israel B. García when I indicated I never received a single written request: " I DON'T CARE IF YOU EVER RECEIVED A REQUEST ON WRITING OR NOT" Wow, wow, wow… I guess today the law and contracts were not important? I went to Judge Israel B. García seeking justice and for sure justice was not served. There is a contract in place which was not respected after tenant failed to comply with SECTION 17 a and b: A. Tenant's General Responsibilities: Tenant, at Tenant's expense, must: (1) keep the Property clean and sanitary; (2) promptly dispose of all garbage in appropriate receptacles; (3) supply and change heating and air conditioning filters at least once a month; (4) supply and replace all light bulbs, fluorescent tubes, and batteries for smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors, garage door openers, ceiling fan remotes, and other devices (of the same type and quality that are in the Property on the Commencement Date); (6) take action to promptly eliminate any dangerous condition on the Property; (12) water the foundation of the Property at reasonable and appropriate times; and (13) promptly notify Landlord, in writing, of all needed repairs. B. Yard Maintenance: And I wonder… Does Judge Israel B. García know that Section 8 completes a thorough detailed inspection each year? If there was mold, as the tenant claims, and the cooktop was not working how come Section 8 passed inspection each year with flying colors without requesting repairs including on August 8, 2022, three months before property was abandoned? I am amazed Judge spent NO TIME whatsoever trying harder and checking on this? Today Judge Israel B. García decided to protect these poor, indefensible, good, humble people from being taken advantage from the rich, unfair, abusive landlord. Judge Israel B. García tenants combined income at application was well above $100,000. They fooled Section 8 and I think you as well. Will you be investigating my claims? Judge Israel B. García I still cannot understand why you have had ZERO regards to all damages occurred in this house. I am going to ask this Court to meet you because I must understand WHY you dismissed me ignoring the long list of damages without no chance. Judge Israel B. García while I was exposing my case I saw you reading a letter addressed to you and which content I was not shared. I hope your sudden change and denying me the possibility to expose what these tenants did to my property doesn’t have to do with the fact tenants work for USPS, METRO and the AIRPORT. All government entities. Something is not right with today’s dismissal before I was able to expose my case and I will request an explanation to your Court.

I had the worst experience ever coming in to court today the front desk was rude and showed no education I had waited for Hours to renew my sticker I once I waited the clerk told me I needed to pay cash since I had brought my wife's id and get debit card apparently this don't work no more I wasn't aware so I went back to my car and get cash .when I came back in she acted rude and said to get back in line a long line when I had explained to her before I left the building I will return I felt discrimination towards me she let a couple white folks who also left the building but no just because I'm Hispanic I had to wait now I'm here still waiting since 9 if someone reads this she is so racist she even told the clerk to not attend me when he was the one to tell me just come back and pay but she's so evil that I have to wait for my number to be called that 30 people ahead of me.she once showed how mean racist and evil she is she doesn't deserve this job her attitude is very bad I never complained but this is not right.,who is she to decide who needs to wait and who don't. We came to this place as witnesses for some friends of ours. The judge was very nice. The staff on the other hand was very unorganized and the facility in general was very unorganized. Once we arrived, an employee named Marleen attended us and we asked where we we supposed to go and she sent us to two different places and at the end she admitted that she didn't know where we were supposed to go. To get to the point. They didn't want to attend us because we were late. The appointment was at 11 and we got there around 10:30ish or so. Then they charged us extra. Secondly, there's a language barrier so I was trying to speak up for our friends and once we spotted the girl Marleen she didn't even bother clarifying the issue. Overall this place is very bad, they should either close it or be very mindful of the people they hire. No customer service what so ever.

The behavior displayed and lack of professionalism at the this location is absolutely disgusting. The entire staff should be ashamed of themselves. Not only are they all rude but the Judge himself lacks the professionalism to be able to accurately give orders. Judge Israel B. García, Jr. is truly a bigot and racist. In addition, they will have you waiting all day and will invalidate you every chance they get. Please understand that showing up early does nothing. They will not follow their own policies set in place. They will not hear both sides nor will they listen to understand. They will listen to reply. All of them show lack of character and it is truly disgusting to witness. I genuinely hope they never have to lose a loved one and be treated in the manner I was.

I hope next month my one vote will be the vote that counts to boot this judge out. I previously voted for him not to rule in my favor but to be fair. He wasn't fair when I, the plaintiff or the defendant, asked for our first and only continuance. The Judge Garcia denied it . Maybe for the defendants reason they had a family vacation planned was not a good reason and could have been why theirs was denied, but what about my reason I was homeless living out of trashbags in a hotel. Therefore, I didn't have the time to hire an attorney because I was homeless. Judge Garcia was insensitive and unfair to either parties. Definitely, people and I need to vote him out this November 2023 along with his cowboy hat that he is so vain about!

WHERE IS THE 10 BUTTON!! Recently I had to deal with a horrible customer in Judge Russ Ridgeway's court and even though I didn't get exactly what I was asking for; I found Judge Ridgeway to be very FAIR. I was so intrigued by this "FAIR" judge that I did my own research afterward and what I can tell you as a LIFETIME NON VOTER, I will probably vote for Judge Ridgeway in the elections next year. Judge Ridgeway defied the system and was not even a lawyer before he ran for office which seems to have introduced some much needed "New" blood to the court system. In my research, I discovered how he has cleaned up the court backlogs and given the courts a new fresh future. Way to go Judge Ridgway! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!

Judge Ridgeway handled a case of mine this morning. My only gripe, is that they had so many cases scheduled on the 8:00 a.m. docket, that they didn't get to me until 10:30. In fact, the judge started the 9:00 a.m. docket before finishing half of the 8:00 a.m. docket. Most likely caused by the clerk setting too many cases on the same docket. Then again, this is Houston. When that courthouse was built, the city was probably half the size it is now. As a previous reviewer stated, you may not get exactly what you want, but he is very fair, and very intelligent. He can also see through lies very well. None of these 3 attributes are common among judges in this state. Bravo. A++ Judge Russ Ridgeway!!

I've been to this courthouse several times., but Aug 1, 2020 was different I was there to get married!! It was a Saturday morning and raining, our time slot was 10 am and we were told to.arrive by 9:45 am...So what do we do ? Arrive at 10:15!!!! I was so upset and nervous that we would be turned away...But there was Judge Ridgeway with our guest welcoming me and the groom in....We.were the only ones in the building, no secretaries, security or other office staff...The Judge was personable and very friendly,.and the ceremony was full of humor...He took pictures of us with our family and even with him....He made our day very special...Thank u Judge Ridgeway!

Everyone was both very polite & helpful, except the bailiff. He was both rude and curt, but then I suspect that is in his job description. As for the rest, it was night and day compared to the belligerence and hostility that I remember from my more wild past. It is not all roses though. Don't expect to get out quick, they are just too busy to move fast. I was the first person on the 9am docket, my case took 5 minutes or less, but it was 9:40 by the time I left the court house, largely because the 8am docket ran long. Some cases just took a while. So, plan on loosing a good portion of your day.

No point in telling judge Isreallyfake B García that you actually have the rental assistance that I now realize he wastes his precious wecious time on asking for because he'll save you for last and vote in favor for the slumlord who failed the first time around at suing you at another courthouse and had to stoop this low because they're clearly in it together. This place is ran terribly inefficient. Idea: get rid of the "easy" cases first to cut down on time (common sense here). This court is probably the worst I have ever been for traffic. The judge should run this court and not let the court run him and he should lose his job. Long long lines and its indicative of poorly trained staff & inefficient ops. At anytime, this place has a very long line. On top of that the bench finish transfers to your shirt! Dont sit leaning back for too long if inside the court room or else you are likely to ruin your shirt.

Everyone there seem to be friendly, polite, professional and helpful. I was extremely impressed by Miranda who is very nice and patient over the phone, despite of my language barrier. Lorena Q, who works behind the counter, surely went extra miles to help me and took care what I needed to do, with the professionalism at its best! Emmanuel B. They rescheduled the traffic court date but provide no information of how to join the online zoom for a “court appearance”. I understand COVID has changed things but I feel like the state’s new protocols need to be revisited as I’m sure warrants have been issued to people unclear of the process. To be helpful, it would be great to post zoom links in the traffic files for people to join to lessen calls to the court house. It’s so frustrating.

I Have been here three times. I got my license plates on September 2022 (second time to get them) they were pretty quick. The first time I got here I waited almost two hours (August 2022) for then they to tell me about other documentation needed that I was never told of in the first place when I picked up the form for my new license plates. The third time was for another document registration and they were fast too.

Wow the service here is amazing. In and out with in half an hour and the line was to the door. Not only that, but all the staff were super friendly and helpful. She even took the time to say you dont need to pay a title company for this. Here let me help you. Just wow. Also, they have implemented a way more efficient check in where a person hands line designation and assists those in need of assistance.

Calling this place is impossible. All I needed was information in regards to my citation. So I didn’t have to make the 45 minute drive without the right documentation. Instead I’m greeted my multiple 15+ minute calls every day with no answer. The one time I manage to get someone on the phone the lady is very rude and somewhat defensive. I am not happy about my experience with this place.

The wait...... oh my ... arrived at 8:45 left at 10:50. Only 3 ppl working behind the counter. I had a expired registration ticket( dismissed and a 10 dollar fine) waited 2 hours. I will give a shout out to CHERISH, she was very friendly , helpful , and kind. Almost made the 2 hour wait worth it and not so terrible. I said ,” Almost! “. Get there at 7:30am. Before they open.

Judge in Houston #5 Justice Court pro landlords and he does not listen he is unfair to the common honest person as some of these landlords, management companies and their attorneys lie! He does not follow the laws nor does he read the evidence etc very biased and totally prejudice and unfair. Destroys honest people lives with no thought whatsoever. Need another Judge!

My experience today was horrible. Clerk on window 9 which is currently in training was rude. I honestly think if you do not like your job look for something else . I didn’t get her name because she didn’t even have a name tag. People like that should not work there. I’m very upset that I had to waste my time today. I should have talk to the manager .

The building had pedestrian ramps installed leading from the parking lot up into the building, but they did not install any handrails. So they seem to have just created two gigantic trip and fall hazards. Ramps with out handrails are dangerous and just stupid. Handrails are cheap and would help disabled people from becoming more disabled.

I have been calling this office for over two weeks and nobody's answering the phone. I missed the court date, until today I didn't received any documents or any notifications about my case, passed almost 30 days. So not phone and not lattes!!! I guess I will going to need drive there tomorrow to see what's going on!!!

Why aren’t they hiring new people? I went there to ask about eviction information and they couldn’t even talk to me clearly on what to do. They look annoyed and don’t want to do their job and help. When are we going to get real good people who want to help?

It's not that I LOVE this place. I just feel that if you don't follow the rules then there are consequences. They don't NEED to please you, but I have found that 9 times out of 10 they are very helpful and polite. Occasional rudeness but not from everyone.

I am a pregnant woman with days on delivering my baby. I went to get my lisence plates sticker and the person who was supposed to "help me" was very rude and I couldnt get my sticker. She was working on #3 today I forgot to get her name.

Judge Ridgeway is very fair and to the point, as long as hes there like one case was a no brainer and he had a appointment downtown, it went south with 4 years of work on that case, I still will use him in my cases. JBB

Need some help renewing my registration. I walked in without any appointment. Got it done under 15 mins. I was pleasantly surprised of how efficient and less crowded this place is!
