Hi I'm a sixth grader at Harris Middle school . Harris has a great educational atmosphere... the teachers alwase walk in ready to teach with a smile on there faces ... you know what on the first day of school I was soooo scared and didn't know what to do but when I walked in to Mr. Kenners class and Mr.Sankey's classes they both said to smile and have fun and still get work done... so if you are a parent wondering if you should get your child enrolled at harris middle school don't think twice come on down to Bernard .A.Harris.Jr.Middle.School because I can tell you right now because of all of the wonderfull teachers here your child will go in with a froun and come out with a smile !!!!! I was very apprehensive about my daughter attending HMS. I heard stories of bullying and apathetic administration and teachers. Quite the opposite! Dr. Maika has been a saving grace to this school. He has the students best interest at heart. He does not tolerate bad behavior from students and praises students for their achievements. Dr. Maika is always present at school and is always willing to answer any questions a parent may have. Feeling relieved!!
This is my first year experiencing Harris Middle School, and so far, I have been impressed with the teachers and the administration. I don't really have anything negative to say about the school. I will agree that bullying and negativity among kids seems to be more present today than when I was a kid, but, I think the school works very hard to stop it.
Like most awkward middle school aged people, I had good days and bad days here. Overall a good education, I learned things that I have retained to this day.
I've been here all three years, A wonderful school and a wonderful education system. The faculty is also great. Especially under the new principal's guide!
This school is one of the best in this district, respect, Grades,friendship, sports,Band .....all on point ,overall 8 1/2/10
