It's the only Supermarket available in the downtown area. Pros-Clean shopping store and convenient for those that live nearby. Also store is on a busy street with heavy traffic which makes it visible. There's a bus stop in front of the parking area facing the storefront. A few sales on needed grocery items, cooked prepared hot & cold food, Deli, Produce, Pharmacy, and an inside store Police sub station. Outside there's a Red Box rental for DVD's, Games etc outside store. The Cons are prices are extremely higher than other Harvey's due to it being the only area Grocery and many vagrants frequent the store and steal. With that being said results in higher cost to customers. Also many people live in homeless centers in the area, so the prices are up because most receive Govt Snaps (F Stamps). The restrooms are always unclean from those I know who use it. The cashiers are slow and aren't courteous. Some will sloppily bag grocery's and sling them to the side. Every line is extremely long and the store is always busy.
They have good deals especially the BOGO but check the prices before you walk away from the register because I had a sale Item scan regular price and NOT the sale price. I didn't catch It at the register but as I was walking out the door and I told the manager who's response was "I'm Sorry" and he turned away. I had just gotten off from work and didn't mind standing In line to purchase my Items but I had a problem with having to stand In another long line because of their error. Only after I put him In his place about his customer service skills did he actually check the shelf price and bump me to the front of the customer service line to refund the difference. NOT GOOD AT ALL!
When they first bought Winn Dixie out it was kind of crazy and confusing but now that everything's settled I think the store is much better. The produce is soooooo much better! And fresher! And I love that I don't see brown wilted salad bags and find partially rotting veggies in the bin. So thanks to new ownership for that. The store associates are always courteous and friendly so It always feels good walking in the door. Except that (I feel like I should mention this but...) they don't seem as happy like they were before so it makes me wonder? Well anyway, I love Harveys much more than Winn Dixie. They seem to care more about health and quality and better pricing a lot more.
What's with all the rotten produce and expired meat up in this joint as of late, went to buy a head of lettuce the other day. I had to go through 22 rotten heads to find a semi decent head!! If I was reading this I wouldn't buy fruits or vegetables from here, and it's sad because Springfield is growing and a lot of residents are looking for FRESH produce....not junk. Management or whoever needs to pull their heads out of their @$$es. I thought grocery stores by law were only supposed to have a certain amount of produce waste? I think I might make a couple calls, this WAS my neighborhood store but I'm thinking of taking my money elsewhere. Boo harveys
The Harveys store on Liberty looks like something back from the 60's. The overhead lights were all flickering, it smelled bad and had to walk through homeless begging in the parking lot and it looked like one person had made the area home on the right side of the building. The front entrance wasn't working so I had to enter from the exit. I feel sorry for the retired people who live in the Cathedral district who shop there. It's handy for them. Something needs to be done to keep the homeless out of the parking lot and away from the building. That store also needs new lighting. I'm not a uncaring person but the homeless have ruined downtown.
We're at the store frequently because we live downtown but I really do wish there was another grocery store location this close to us. The staff are all very kind and very helpful, and they try to do the best that they can but the store is just dirty. Also you can't get into the doors without being asked for money or cigarettes or kind of being frightened by certain scary people in the parking lot. Again, I live downtown so I understand the homeless people are there but it kind of feels like the scarier characters congregate in this parking lot.
The last few times I've gone in here, the checkers didn't greet you like they normally do. I usually have someone approach me asking if I will buy their food for them, or buy foodstamps from them, and then get mad at you when you don't. On two occasions I used the restroom, and both times it was filthy, trash on the floor, smelly. It's a smaller store, so options aren't alot. I used to go for the convenience but after the incidents with the 2 people, I will go to another store.
Some of the employees judge by color and looks and will call security... When security finds you did nothing the cashier still asked to search my purse after security had already did his job. The foreign lady actually listened to a customer before me that was caucasian...him n his lady was the culprit but they diverted her by putting it on a African American. As i left the store the same man that told, was outside making sure his accomplis had what he needed....
Cashiers are not friendly have been stopping in there just to pick up a couple items for over 2 years thinking it would get better NOPE!!!the wait is ridiculous and they are not busy they are just slow and carry on conversations WITH OTHER CASHIER'S, CUSTOMER/ FRIENDS!!! THEN WANT TO BE RUDE WITH YOU WHEN YOU SAY SOMETHING TO MGR. OVER IT!!! Will proceed to pass my home and go 2 miles out my way to go to Save-A-Lot!!!
extremely EXPENSIVE! A pack of Lee’s sliced bacon was $15, and there were other packs going for $10 $11 and $12. Old products on the shelves. On multiple occasions i’ve bought perishable food items from Harvey’s and they were already stale! If i have time I go out of my way to go to Walmart instead because the prices are wayyyyy too steep. Their freshly baked items like Baguettes and Croissants are fantastic though.
Harvey is not a good supermarket they put out vegetables and fruits that have been in the freezer they do not sell grade a meats I do not buy my meats at Harvey's on market Street Harvey's need to change management Harvey's have people working in the deli they do not wear heads care that use the same slicer for meats cheese which they should not do management at Harvey's it's not doing the job that they need to do
Management is great employees helpful small store so small selection and stock. Allen is the produce manager and a great guy if you need a helping hand ask him . He is a great man and a employee that's under appreciated I am sure . My company would kill for guys like him to work for us honest helpful hard working and dependable I wouldn't shop at this location if it was for him and his staff
Just got off the phone with two different women who were both extremely rude and had no intent to answer my question at all. Neither one of them actually listened to what I was saying. The second woman lied to me and tried to changing her wording right before I hung up. I told her she was just as rude as the lady before her but she was actually worse. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS.
This particular location has issues that most urban stores have, homeless panhandlers and shady people hanging out front. Otherwise this location is usually clean and most of the time the employees are ready to help. This is not my typical store only when passing through downtown. Overall five stars for well stocked shelves, polite helpful employees, and an over all clean store.
Now they just straight up stealing people's money ,. This store need to be removed from downtown and let another company have a go at it. S.E. groceries is a embarrassment,. Cant even hire people that you can do basic math. Can't have functional check out equipment. Doesn't have a respectable selection of food on top of that. It's literally like the reject store
This grocery store is the only one near our house but carries very few of our staples. It's a good place to swing by for milk or eggs, but the produce is always suspect and the meat needs to be cooked immediately and even then has an off flavor. The customer service is horrendous. I've had carts stolen by employees and had to wait in interminable checkout lines.
Green Winn Dixie was pretty meh for a while, but they added a huge range of seriously delicious lunch stuff in their deli area. Super food salad with Kale? Look at where this place is located. Absolutely awesome, staff is generally good - place is clean etc. Always 2-5 people sitting on rascals just chilling at the front is the only nuisance/negative.
An older store which was formerly a Winn Dixie. This is downtown and there's a small police precinct in the store if you feel unsafe. It's convenient and an old but well-stocked store. Sometimes the bagged salad could be fresher. Some of the clientele seem questionable so this probably will not be a store for your regular shopping trips
This Harvey's is located in an okay location downtown. Before you walk in you have people ask you for money sometimes because of the area, which makes me nervous. Once you get into the store its clean and the managers are nice and helpful. There's some great cashiers too. Overall this store is a great place to shop with awesome deals.
THIS IS EDGWOOD PHARMACY LOCATION: Dr. Jean Paul and Dr. James are Truly Awesome!!!..Smart with Great Personalities. Their staff shown is very caring helpful, will come from behind counter to help you locate non script medicinal items on other side. Always PATIENT!, When customers are not feeling their best, You need the BEST!!....
Customer service isn't too bad... depends on who you ask for help. The store is a little run down. Not the best selection in town. Expensive. And the lines are always supet long. Never enough casheirs. I hate to say it but the black people who work here often have an attitude and hate doing more than job requirements.
The prices are good and the staff is friendly. However, I'm sick of being approached by no less than 3 people per visit asking for money or for me to buy them food. I understand there's not a lot that can be done about those outside the building but the beggars inside the building should be handled by management.
I've had some good times in front of Harvey's ❤️ connecting with old school family and friends from back in the days. The bus stop was converted to a party. Send the prayers up for the family's and friends for the love of God has been looking over us all. …
Got to watch your check out prices closely. They advertise One price located with the item for sale. But when you get to the cash register they charge you a different price, boys higher, not the lower price that is advertised. Should have checked my receipt before I got home, overcharged $3 on two items.
Not very many locations left so 5 stars are in order. Aside from that, the store is well maintained and the location is good. Like I can go here at night good. They seemed to keep good inventory. Customer service is good. They have self checkout. They accept coupons. Don't need much more than that.
I only go to this located because management staff is awesome... Produce manager is always helpful with a smile on her face. Everything is top notch... Go visit crystal at this store. It's always not only a weekly visit but she always teaches me something new about produce.,.. love shopping here..
Great shopping experience with friends. Items were well laid out. Employees were available to help find items that I had trouble finding. Checkout was quick and easy. The only problem was aisles were too narrow and displays in aisles made getting around in handicap cart a little difficult.
Used to work at this location. It’s dirty and only has one really small set of bathrooms. The managers are rude. Don’t shop here, they have roaches. Saw roaches multiple times while cleaning in the produce back room. Crawling on the bananas and tomatoes. For your health, do not shop here.
I like how the employees greet you when you enter the store and the store is very clean, employees are very helpful. The prices are getting better but I compare prices and they are still too high compared to other stores. Over all I don't shop there anymore only when I forgot something.
This location DOWNTOWN IS SUPERB! Fully Stocked, but if an item is Sold Out, the Store Manager will work out a deal with you! The NICEST STAFF IN THE CITY Very helpful and knowledge of STORE SALES AND the LOCATION OF THE ITEMS AND PRODUCTS IN THE STORE! my New HARVEY'S LOCATION! …
When I say they need return Winn Dixie they should Harvey's are jacked up even though they are umbrella with Winn Dixie I think Winn Dixie quality of meats ,and prices are way better and cheaper then Harvey's they always changing workers always crowded always out of items
I bought some ground beef after I mixed it up with seasoning. My hands came out like I had dipped them in the jar of Vaseline. I bought some pork chops. They had a very bad odor when I open up the package. Worse store I ever been out of all the states I lived in
Everything is nice there still, but the employees are always changing! Downtown Jacksonville is suffering from the increased homeless population and mass drug sales that comes with those on it! Everything is dirty nasty filthy! I am so glad I left Jacksonville!
You can find what you need, but I wouldn't make it a regular habit of shopping there. Good customer service at the customer service counter which is always busy! Women with an island accent does a marvelous job in spite of what she probably has to deal with.
This store is very new and always very clean, but they're ALWAYS out of bananas and the produce section always seems very bare. Staff here is kind and friendly and helpful. Prices are ok, not a bargain, but not too ridiculous for a nicer feeling experience.
My mother worker here every since i was in grade school. And she worked her way to seafood department manager. And when she passed away i. 2000 inever went back into this store until 9/1/16. Even though rhe store has changed I could feel her in the store.
I love this store I hunted through 6 stores to find apple jelly. This store is always well stocked and I can always find everything I need so to me that's a total plus. I also wanted to say the employees are great and go out of their way to help you
Ghetto. Rude. Rides the clock by standing behind the counter pretending they're working but had a shopping cart blocking the inside entrance during operation hours. Then sent a guard around the store 20 minutes to tell customers to stop shopping.
Clean an convenient to all the downtown community's. We live in The Carling and we think this Harvey's is as nice as ant Whole foods Market. There sales on meat are the best in town The only thing they don't have is a fresh seafood department.
Omg these this Dali woman so rude she talk to people any kind of way she has the worst customer service I ever seen coming I have ate here several years and have never witness anyone be so nasty to customers in my life she never where her ID
I like their sales but I always have to be early and careful with what I am purchasing. Not always the cleanest place or freshest items. Their customer service has never been bad, but some attitudes say they're too good to be serving anyone.
The store was well stocked and clean BUT the customer service line was extremely too long, there was only one person working, as long as this line was there should have been two people to get customers serviced more quickly and efficiently.
So many great changes at this store. The produce department has the freshest fruit and the sweetest people working there. I spoke with Crystal who explained how to choose a sweet ripe watermelon AND.... she didn't disappoint.
Very convenient with so many locations. Friendly service. However their customer service/convenience line are always backed up.The waits are entirely too long. I've had to wait 30 minutes just to make a payment before.
Very clean and was greeted at the door very friendly. Came in right at closing time and with a smile they said go ahead a get what you need i thought how nice. I will be back to shop much earlier then 10pm.
I give it a 4 star, because it's in the downtown area. The cashiers are not that friendly. I never feel welcomed. But they do have what need always. Prices are average. Otherwise I would give it a 3 star.
The Dali worker so disrespectful she curse at customers yelling at people she make people not want to come and order food here she running off people giving Harvey a bad name they need to fire her
They had Dole Salad on sale 2 for $5 and it was wrong on my receipt. Customer service preferred to refund me than to honor the sign. I did go back a purchased a head of lettuce for 88cents lol
Main complaint is EVERY single time I've ever been it is guaranteed somebody comes up to my car sking for money. Not food but money and it's usually always the same excuse for "bus fare" lol.
The deli personnel are filthy nasty dirty handling meat. Even when they know im watching. Never wash hands and lots of cross contamination going on back there. I cant order meat ther anymore
Harveys is a clean establishment. The shelves are well stocked and neat. The customer service is excellent. The area on the outside isn't so pleasant but the actual market is well secured.
I completely depend on this location since I live in down town. I love to go early in the mornings while they don't have much traffic. I absolutely love the friendly neighborhood feel! :)
Items are inexpensive and fully stocked. Employees are nice. Store is not too crowded. Bathrooms are decently clean. Other than the trademark bright yellow walls, I had a good experience.
I stop by to get some of there fresh fruits and baked snacks. So happen to be on Friday which was fish on the menu but my favorite catfish. I shall return on Friday around 10:01 am.
The store is always so clean and organized. The staff friendly and very helpful. There's plenty easy parking unlike Publix in Riverside that is always a nightmare to even get into.
It’s an ok grocery store. Produce looks a little tired and the store seemed kind of dirty inside. That said, the staff was friendly and they had what I needed at a fair price.
Friendly service and Management but food is high as hell, due to the economy and homeless robbing them blind. So shop wisely All in all it's a good neighborhood store.
Depends on what time of day you go in, they have good deals. But you will see a gathering of older people outside. A few panhandler's and maybe someone sleep outside.
Nice and clean, just not used to this store so had to make several trips around the store. I found everything needed and checked out with friendly customer service.
Nastiness is unbelievable!!outside homeless always harassing people the employees are The Insider a bunch of young kids that just don't care about the job either
Got a great deal on chicken. Veg s and collard in big can. Good layout. Got a nice compliment on my vest. They made me feel good about my purchases and myself.
I get charged for things I don't get and some things I pay for don't find their way into my bags. When I get home I notice they're not there. Slick operators.
Downtown. But still nice they keep it pretty clean inside and out . Bathroom's are hit and miss . Jso sub station inside . So it's safe. Price's are fair .
The staff is great. Very helpful. I am a short woman and the staff will get things down for me with no trouble. They smile and ask me if I need help.
There was plenty of room for wheel chairs to access the aisles without hindering the mon-handicap from shopping. Some items of 4x the original prices
It's ok. Pharmacy is helpful. The store is pretty small considering the size of the customer base. Often busy, but normally don't have to wait long.
At the customer service desk the line was EXTREMELY LONG!! They should've had 2 people working not 1..took me a 1/2 hr just to get a money order!!
It has a good selection and they even helped me apply for the job the lines are never long too so it's easy to get in and get out with shopping
Clean, efficient, easy to navigate. This is a great little grocery store to get what you need. Lots of great sales and markdowns throughout.
Great neighborhood grocery store. 3 times a week I shop here for me and my kids for groceries and household items. Great prices! …
This place is awesome. Clean, organized and great staff; I intend to shop here more often. Prices are great! Keep up the good work!
Prices are outrageous customer service is poor. There are always more customers than employees. Check-out lines are notorious.
So many things always reasonable pricing great sales get the card points earned turns into dollars. Save more and smile big.
Great market. Living downtown you will find it hard to find a grocery store with everything you need. Harvey's is the best!
It's so good and close to me. One particular person, a cashier, she is always so helpful. I think she deserves a raise.
I love going to this Harveys. I'm always in and out and they are courteous. The store is always in order and clean.
Love it here. Variety of fresh fruits and pastries. Workers are friendly and patient. Spacious and clean.
A good store for all the basics. A lack of fresh made deli items though. A quick sandwich would be nice.
I LOVE my neighborhood Harvey's The store is clean a staff ALWAYS nice and helpful... …
Busy and popular store. Older but only one in downtown area so most convenient
Great place to shop for bargains and the employees are friendly and helpful .
Even though it was busy, lines moved fast. Always a pleasure shopping there.
Best fresh fruits in big variety to choose from. Excellent customer service.
Staff is great (polite, helpful) but not a lot of healthy food options IMO.
Great Meat Department! Brandy/Brandi was professional courteous and polite!
They NEVER have enough lines open and the check out process is very slow
I had a small issue and the manager was very patient and so helpful.
Not the best part of town. But folks look out for one another
Great place to pick up some cheap eats at the hot bar.
i like this place alot I always go here w my mom
Staff are helpful and attentive as well.
One of the worst shopping experiences
They give great customer service ♥️
The lines are always way too long!
Was great experience Nice people
Very nice... cashier very nice.
Great place and good savings.
Very kind check out staff.
Good place. Area is iffy.
Good customer service
