My Son bought a bike from here around 5 weeks ago, this bike was nearly £500 so not cheap. For this type of money you would expect tyres, gears and wheels to last a while. So yesterday my son attends the shop to be told no mechanic today come back tomorrow meaning today, so he did, to be told again, no mechanic today. So as you can Imagine he was not best pleased. He explains all the faults he is experiencing to be told again come back tomorrow, feels like he's being fobbed off, so requests a refund to be told manager not in today. He then phones me for advice, so I call the shop and no answer. Eventually the person in the shop agreed to look at the bike which took 2hrs to change a bold tyre, change a buckled wheel and adjust the gears as they keep slipping. Since having this done today the chain is now not as it should be and is hitting the frame. In your response to another review regarding this you have mentioned excessive skidding causing the bald tyre, what a joke he's 22 not 16 and only used the bike about 6 times, which would not cause this damage. It is faulty and requires someone at your shop who knows what they doing to look at the complete bike and rectify any issues. This bike has 12 months warranty, and as the bike is faulty you should fix it without fobbing him off, but 12 months warranty didn't seem to matter today as the person at your shop was just not interested. Customer service today was very poor. We will be bringing the bike back to your shop if the now fault with chain continues and if any other faults appear, and hopefully you will do the right thing ! Fix it correctly ! Look forward to your reply.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. They are more than happy to take your money and sell you a faulty bike however they are not so forthcoming when you ask them to fix the problems. We brought a bike from this shop and a couple of weeks later this bike had caused my friend to have 2 accidents. One being because the wheel had actually came loose (not to mention the buckles in both wheels). The second accident due to the tyres being bald in places. Due to the poor quality we had received my friend Rode 11 miles from Meriden to the shop in hope the problems would be rectified. Unfortunately he got there and was told the mechanic isn't there so he would have to go back the next day (being today). I have just had a phone call from my friend who has now told me he has rode there yet again and has been told the mechanic isn't there until Thursday. I am in shock. Now he has been told he needs to wait in the shop for an hour and a half for his tyre to be changed and his gears to be tuned. To have spent almost £500 on a bike a month ago and to be ripped off the way my friend has is appalling. We have now requested a refund and have been refused this too. I have tried calling them and it seems they don't want to answer the phone either. Absolutely shocking customer service. Very very poor. This shop should be ashamed of themselves

Outstanding bike shop. Outstanding staff. Went in there to get my brakes sorted and was given good advice. Had my beautiful Dawes Galaxy serviced for next to nothing. Got advice on new forks for my Giant and got them fitted again it was excellent value. Needed some lights and pedals again brilliant service and excellent value. In the process of buying 3 bikes for my children and I know they will be safe and well made. They are great value. Finally my friend brought his old faithful 25 years ago and he agrees with myself there is no better bike shop. Read some of the other comments and they should be a bit nicer and more reasonable. If you buy a bike take responsibility check it yourself before you take it out. The other person with the chain problem should work in retail for a day and he would not be so rude. He does not say how old the bike was and how much wear the chain had. Anyway why should he put so much effort into complaining about a chain that comes off? Hawks is 1000 percent better than Halfords’s who are a multinational.

We went and brought a bike from here today... All of the bikes we looked at were well below Rrp... The bike we chose was reduced from £449 to £319 and the helmet was also reduced in the sale. They have bikes for every pocket and every person big or small. They have a vast stock of pre built bikes which are passed to the engineers for final inspection and assembly before you can take it but this only takes a short time so you can ride away same day. They also do bike repairs and punctures and carry a huge amount of spares for most models. This is a one stop shop for anyone wanting to cycle. Niel and Dave looked after us today and couldn't have done a better job... We left happy and felt both these chaps did a fantastic job... Thanks guys Nb: Watch out for price drops as the bike we brought went down again by around £90 just 4 weeks later... Not really anything my daughter could do but she was very annoyed when she saw it was much lower when she took the bike back for adjustment.

I met two staff members today at this bicycle shop. One of them named Dave. This has got to be one of the best services i have received anywhere. I went in the shop in state of panic with a bike which I had bought from them about 10 years ago for my now 15 year old daughter. I needed to get it checked so it could be brought back to life so my 8 year old son could take it into school for a bike riding session the next morning. They were able to fix it up for me and ready in 20 minutes. They gave me such personalised service and made me and my son feel valued as customers. I wholeheartedly recommend these guys for any bicycle related needs. I will be going back to get my son his very first proper bike from them. Thank you guys- because of you my son is a really happy boy and feeling confident and excited about his bike session at school tomorrow.

I cannot thank the 2 gentlemen who work at Hawk Cycles sheldon. I had an Scott mountain bike which needed repair firstly I tried to fix it myself and realised it was to big a job for me, so I went to Halfords who wanted to replace different parts but couldn’t be certain that it would fix the problem and quoted me a ridiculous price. So I decided to visit hawk cycles and I glad I did. They recommended all the parts that needed to be replaced and now my Scott mountain bike is fully functional and I’ve passed it on to my son and he was happy with his birthday present. The service was very professional and they even offered to a guarantee on all parts for 12 weeks and a free service to make sure everything is in order.

Changed my mind from previous review. My opinion has changed very much. Apart from wasting my time. I felt a bit embarrassed about the situation the way they spoke and dealt with me. Anyway reason being i was open about my bike being second hand so firstly they said i was unhonest about the gear selector, then suggested i couldn't count. I asked can i email the pictures to show, "No bring the bike in" so i did.. The larger gentleman said ok he will fix it - a moment after the older man In overalls had a word then the larger man said sorry unfortunately we can't actually work on this bike. Absolute waste of time and very frustrating. ☝️

Great team. We laughed about how we tried to mistakenly get Halfords to do a chain swap on a bike after a 20 minute pointless argument with Halfords staff to be told we'd only booked an assessment and that repair bookings were into August (3 months) - these guys laughed and joked and did the work and gave us great advice on a second bike. We booked the other bike in to be fixed by the end of the weekend and they said they'd roll the chain charge into the other repairs and not to worry about it. Good parking area outside and you can call and speak with them about your bike whenever they're open. Lovely guys impeccable customer service.

I went in looking to purchase 2 bikes, David helped out with guiding on frame sizes, let us try any bike we wanted and provided honest advice for what type of cycling we were planning. He was very helpful, knowledgeable and had a lot of patience. We purchased the bikes and rode away on the same day! From purchasing, to after sales, amazing service from David. I’ve been back since for some accessories and upgraded bits for both bikes and again faultless service from David and honest advice - which is appreciated! I brought a mountain bike with accessories from hawk cycle on the 22nd September. The bike is excellent had a full maintenance service whilst I waited. My only downfall was the light accessory didn't work- I called and the the staff were very happy to change. I went back today and a guy (dave) was so helpful and sorted the issue straight away. I work in hospitality and understand the importance of great service and I am very much thankful I spent my money with this business. I would very much recommend hawk cycles and will definitely be doing business there again. Thanks to the staff

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE. Brought bike 6 months ago for my 8 year old, brake cable came lose out of attachment, the holder was poor quality as to why it worn out and snapped, I was told by staff someone had been messing with it, clearly a 8 year old can’t do anything so that was their excuse and refused to replace part which was under warranty. I then asked to repair it as we wanted to go for ride on weekend and was told bring it next weekend. Staff member was very rude, bad customer experience and service.very disappointed let my little Boy down

The two older guys were so nice and helpfull with advice for my new electric bike and also gave me a discount for a pair of new pedals, compared with Red Kite cycles who were very rude and arrogant this place is a little gem. Ideal for those who want good old fashioned advice/help and not to be talked down to, many thanks for your help, if you read this you might remember us with the new green bike, hubby found out when we got home that the seat could go forward a couple of inches making the bike just right for me.

Visited Hawk Cycles today and what a wonderful service I received, especially from Neil who went above and beyond to sort my problem out, Neil is a very experienced bycicle mechanic/technician and new without looking what the problem may be, and sure enough it was, so a BIG thank you to Neil and his co-workers for making my daughter trip to Bristol university a much happier one now her beloved bike can go with her. Was really really disappointed with the service provided. I dropped into Hawks with my son to get his derailleur ajusted but was hit with bike jargon that ment absolutely nothing to me and given an eye watering price of £70 for something that I have subsequently been able to get sorted for £20. Ripping off genuine customers is a huge no no so will not be returning here nor recommending to friends and family!

Some of the staff are useless always referring to apple iphone you can spend £400 on a scooter there when you need parts they tell you to go line which i did the scooter was turning its self on and off on its on when not in use when using was fine so took it back to the shop was told all warranty was void because of not useing anlen parts which they cant enen surply them all they want is money off you

Absoulty amazing staff ..we went in with my son's new bike which had a problem. They went above and beyond to sort the problem. A problem let me add that halfords and told us the part would be £30 and fitting would be £25. They had all the time in the world for us . We felt extremely valued as a customer . And I would only ever use them regarding our bikes . Top notch

Popped in last week to buy a saddle for Raleigh wildcat. Was recommended a saddle no problem. As I was an obvious novice, there seemed little comment as to whether the replacement would be compatible (which it is not), and consequently my new saddle is loose and I wonder if this shop only deals with experienced cyclists who do not need basic advice.

Today we went into this shop to look for a bike for my sons Christmas present. We was served straight away and found exactly what we was after. Wonderful service. The gentleman made both bikes for me. I would need to adjust height and have no tools for it and couldn't buy any, he gave me a handy tool. So kind. Ordered a double rimmed hybrid back wheel - quoted £38. Took my old wheel in and they very nicely changed the gear sprocket over. All was great until i was told the price was £43.99 After a "discussion" I ended up having the lot changed back. So disappointed as I have used them in the past, but sadly loyalty means nothing these days.

Very rude old mans. New chain fitted but keep coming off. Took it to them again and he rudely fixed and try to get rid off me. But on the way back home came off again. I am very busy and cannot keep facing rude attitude by paying money. Management can improve business by hiring welcoming person at the counter. Advice only

Ordered a trike online, got a call to say it wasn't in stock at the Yardley store but there was one they could transfer from another store, build for me and then I'd get a call once ready. Service was above and beyond, I can't thank them enough for everything they did for me. Best customer service I've ever received.

I bought a Wisper bike from Hawk and the battery stopped charging after a little over a year. Alan was so helpful, going out of his way to test the battery and charger and then liaising with Wisper to get me a replacement. Nothing was too much trouble, I’d highly recommend this shop.

Brilliant. Needed sons brakes fixing on his bike. We had to buy the brakes elsewhere but they fitted them and sorted few other issues for very cheap and was ready too collect next day where as halfords wanted £20 to fix bike plus parts and 2 week wait. Highly recommended

I received a bike for a very decent price after being rejected by Halfords. All sizes are available even when there is a shortage. Very pleasantly surprised. The customer service was also impeccable. The bike was built and ready to be picked up in a matter of hours.

Total scam, I used their fix & repair service to fix my front wheel, they changed the front tyre for me but at the end , it’s just after one week ,my front wheel deflated again without any puncture,what a scam!DON’T USE THEIR FIX &REPAIR SERVICE
