I heard good things and had expectations that this was going to be a meal worthy of the celebration I was having, disappointed is the best I can say. Overall: Expensive for what it was and to be honest I’m unlikely to go back and even less likely to recommend to anyone else. Beverages: To start, the cocktails were good as was the wine which was reasonably priced. A definite plus. Staff: The staff was fine but not exceptional. It seemed a bit of a confused situation as a staff member came by and gave us our menus but wasn’t our server or the host. Then 30 seconds later our server was there expecting to take a drink order. Servers were bussing tables which I appreciate needs to happen in a busy restaurant but there also seemed to be someone dedicated to that task which made having a server do it seem odd. Main course: Steak was very good and properly cooked which I appreciated. The bernaise sauce was semi-broken and had clearly been “fixed” with cornstarch or a thickener making it congealed and gloopy. The Lobster topping left me surprised because there were no discernible parts or pieces. It was shredded so finely that it could practically have come from a can which is was certainly disappointing. The broccoli side had good flavour but the sauce was so watery you had to let things drip off so it wasn’t a giant mess. The broccoli itself was a mixture of undercooked and properly cooked which was surprising. The potatoes were fine, but not amazing. They were definitely not worth the price being asked and most people can make ones as good or better at home. Fish: This is where I had and continue to have the most disappointment with the night. They were out of the fish feature item which the server didn’t know until we ordered it. The suggested sablefish alternative from the regular menu was barely acceptable and I realistically should have sent it back. The skin on the fish was not cooked properly (it should have had a crispness to it but didn’t) and was bad enough my wife felt she couldn’t eat it. The fish itself was okay but lacked flavour which was a common issue throughout the dish. The rice was bland, almost flavourless, and lacked texture it was essentially a paste. The kimchi lacked sufficient spice and vinegar to cut through the absurd amount of oil used. I say the oil was absurd because it coated your entire mouth after every bite to the point it was hard to taste anything else. I understand the kitchen was trying to go for something like a bibimbap but it fell flat and the dish was essentially irredeemable. The (I assume) manager stopped by to ask how things were and when we said “okay” did not follow up. The server also did not follow up when we expressed we were disappointed in the fish main course we ordered. In fact they seemed to start to avoid our table when they realized we weren’t thrilled. Overall I think 2 stars is generous and only is because of the steak itself. As I said, I will not be recommending it to others and it would take a lot to convince me to try them again. Total shame because as I said the steak itself was very well done.

This place was on our To-Eat list and tho it's tucked into the corner of the Cameron community it is definitely worth the drive. Edmonton doesn't have many steak houses (specifically non-chain ones) and this one got top marks from me and my foodie friends. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly, ambience & decor was pleasant and enjoyable (didn't feel stuffy, casual but dressy dress code depending on the occasion that brings you there) food was fantastic. We ordered appies to share (beef tartar, crispy brussel sprouts and deviled eggs) and each bite was a treat. Flavors are strong and smokey and if your run out of baguette slices try some of that beef tartare on a crispy brussel sprout LOL it's a coupling you didn't know you needed! We each ordered from their Classic Steak Cuts (ribeye, striploin and tenderloin) which was a 30 day dry age. Prepared perfectly and definitely and eating experience in itself. Their steaks are served a la carte so we shared a few of those and everything compliments nicely. Heavy favourites were the baked ratatouille and the chicken fried oyster mushroom clusters (sounds like a mouthful but it's one you literally want in your mouth). Dessert is a must and the lemon meringue semifreddo was a huge surprise. It has a frozen lemon mousse base topped with citrus fruits and surrounded by almond meringue and meringue shards. You need to have a bite that has all these layers in it b/c the meringue MELTS in your mouth and the frozen mousse and citrus fruits is the most refreshing after taste. Order it. Try it. PS the apple tarte tatin is tasty too but eat this first before the semifreddo as it's a hard act to follow. Customer service was on point as we had a small mix up on one of our sauces & steak but it was corrected quickly and the floor manager brought us a topper as a good will and welcome gesture. It's small things like this that differentiate the success of new restaurants in our food scene. I would consider this place a special occasion restaurant (especially their dinner menu) and absolutely somewhere you have to treat yourself to at least once.

Good food, great cocktails, unreasonable prices, ok service. Coming from working at Jacobs & co in Toronto (high end steakhouse), this was the same price but with a lack of service, atmosphere and taste (at least for the appetizers). I will also mention I have a great stomach and my stomach was very upset after this evening… Went for a cocktail and a couple of appetizers, and it was good.. but for the $100+ for one drink each and 3 small appetizers, it wasn’t worth it. Smokey Grapefruit margarita cocktail was easily the best thing we had. Tartare was a good sized portion but lacked on flavour and we needed to ask for more bread for it. (We were then Charged for that). Brussel sprouts were crispy, but only tasted like the oil they were deep fried in. Would definitely skip these. The oysters were good (can’t screw these up unless they are bad..) they were fresh, and included a hot sauce and a mignonette sauce. The hot sauce seamed like the same one they use for burgers. Didn’t fit the oyster profile. A small seafood fork would have been appreciated with these. The service also felt rushed, and not personal at all. (It wasn’t a busy night). I think the concept is good, but things just need some refining. Bring appetizer prices down under $20… bring cocktail prices down a bit. Would way rather have 2 margaritas at $12-13 each than 1 at $16. Made us think for a second and say no, water is fine. Include sides for the steaks, allow servers to ring in things separately not only all at the same time.(? This was apparently a thing, and in 15 years of high end serving I have never heard of this)… we “had” to order everything all at once, couldn’t add. Coach servers on welcoming guests, asking how their evening, asking if it’s a special occasion. Something about the atmosphere too doesn’t scream (this is a $$200/per person dinner - if you were to get a full meal deal with drink, appetizer, steak). If you’re in the neighbourhood and looking for a good (yet extremely pricey meal), would recommend.

I don’t normally leave reviews, unless I am extremely satisfied or extremely dissatisfied. Unfortunately, in this case I was extremely dissatisfied with this restaurant. First of all, I want to say that the food was good what the issue was the service. I’ll give you five examples. All started when the waitress brought me my drink (which has lemonade and syrup in it) without a straw or anything to stir with. And I had to ask her twice to bring the straw. Then, when we finished our order, and everyone spent 10 minutes to pick m his steak, she came back telling us that half of the steaks we ordered is not available in the menu anymore! How about you check with the kitchen before coming to the customers? Then she brought the appetizers and apologized because she “ forgot” to remind the kitchen to wait for us to finish the appetizers before making the steaks. So literally, she brought the appetizers and three minutes later all this steaks came in! And do you know what made it even worse? the other guy who brought the steaks kept telling us this is a striploin steak while she was telling him that no this is a ribeye steak! So we’re dealing with people who don’t know what type of steak they’re bringing in! We were confused!! imagine the amount of unprofessionalism that we were dealing with!! Eventually someone else came in and said no this is a ribeye steak! And with all these mistakes happening, she only topped the water once or twice. She wasn’t attentive at all. I have to tell her I need more water.. I need to catchup for the fries. This is extremely unprofessional for a place that sells $100 steak! Don’t get me wrong the steak was good, but the service was completely embarrassing.

So full disclosure I’m married to someone that works with their of their sister chain restaurants woodshed burgers. That being said anyone that knows me knows I’m a foodie through and through. So we finally got to the Hayloft last night. Soon as you walk in there’s an large dry aging booth with a large variety of cuts of beef with some really cool interior designing consisting of pictures of Alberta, ambient lighting and large cozy booths. Soon as we sat down the server showed us an extensive menu literally having dishes with every part of the cow along with all sorts of seafood options from Effing seafoods out in st.Albert. The prices are quiet high but it’s my understanding that every steakhouse is having to compensate for the spike in food prices. That being said what I can say is in terms of quality of food it’s honestly unparalleled for any steakhouse I’ve had in Canada or the world for that matter possibly outside of Ramsay steak in Vegas but they’re basically neck and neck. We started off with raw oysters which were excellent other than we enjoy horseradish with them and that wasn’t available. Then we shared their beet salad, risotto with a 45 day aged strip lion served medium rare and cooked to perfection with a lobster Bearnaise sauce. The first bite I took I looked at my wife and said “ I think this is the best steak I’ve ever had in my life ? I’m trying to remember Ramsays steak but that was so long ago ?” All I’m going to say is that if you’re a steak connoisseur before you die please set aside some funds and GO TO HAYLOFT. Honestly the price for all that with wine; beer plus our sons burger was just shy of 200$ which is very reasonable for fine dining.

Overall, just not a great experience for our group. The best part of the dinner was the baked brie as one of our appetizers. Our table ordered a wide variety of items off the menu, so that we could try a few different items. Other than the bake brie everything was pretty bland. We ordered a dozen oysters to split and we did not notice until after we left and rechecked the menu online that the waiter charged us for 2 separate orders of 6 oysters instead of one dozen and it cost us %25 more. Our table had ordered the dry aged ribeye only to be told just before our meals were coming out that it was not available. The waiter offered the dry-aged sirloin, which cost considerably more than the ribeye and we decided to pay the additional $25 in order to try it. We did the switch and the steak came out and it was a little bigger than a hockey puck, under cooked and on a side plate with not even a garnish for $75. We could have gotten past all of that if the steak was outstanding, but unfortunately it was not. The side we had ordered to go with the steak for an additional charge did not come out until after our meals were just about complete. We asked the waiter about it when the meals came out and he said he would look into it, but when nothing came for 15 mins we asked the manger and then 10 mins later it finally arrived. Unfortunately the meals were done. The deserts were underwhelming to say the least. The cheesecake was burnt on the top and almost had no flavour except the topping. The large brownie with ice cream had very little flavour. Was not sure if they were going for the low calorie version and missed out, but something was missing from both.
Tucked away in the community of Cameron Heights, this hidden gem was an amazing dining experience to treat my fiancé. First impressions, the restaurant was clean and organized, the tables prepped with clean cutlery and glassware. We were promptly attended to by both a greeter and server. My fiancé enjoys old fashioned but I convinced her to try the paper plane, she loved it. I’m into sweets so I had a refreshing bees n basil. The server was very informative and we ended up trying the seafood special and one of the cuts of the day with an added marrow butter and side broccoli . Perhaps we were engulfed in friendly banter but the manager, Mark, stopped by with some fried brussel sprouts with an aioli to apologize for a delay we didn’t notice. The food was fantastic and hot, flavoured and the cut of the picanha was tender and sliced easily. We had the house red which was smooth and paired well with the meal. As a toast at the end we were able to try some port. Overall, attentive service, manager is out and about ensuring great experiences, and delicious foods and beverages to tickle your taste buds. As a student, with limited funds trying to impress my date, worth every penny. Highly recommend.

This restaurant is absolutely incredible! It is on the pricier side, but it is worth every penny. It's the perfect place to go and celebrate. For starters, we had the arancini and the devilled eggs. Both were amazing. By far, this restaurant has the best steak in the city. My steak was cooked to perfection, my fiancé's short rib was mouth-watering and tender, and the chicken was moist and flavorful. We also had bacon wrapped scallops (they melted in your mouth like butter) and the rosemary/parmesan fries - WOW! The service was fantastic. Our waitress was very sweet and patient while we took in the menu options. My mom wasn't a big fan of the drink she ordered, and the waitress brought over something else she enjoyed. I called about my reservation as it was my mom's birthday and wanted to embarrass her. They did not disappoint. They brought about 6 or 7 staff members over to our table, and all sang Happy Birthday. The dessert(we had the brownie) was super rich and delicious. It's just an absolutely phenomenal place all around. The staff, the ambiance, and the food - all AMAZING! Thank you for the wonderful experience!

I had Hayloft on my “go to” list for a very long time and was very excited to find another favourite steak house. Particularly excited because I’ve loved everything about Workshop and Woodshed, so I thought this would be a knockout. The staff were all friendly, very knowledgeable about food allergies, the food was really good, and prices were exactly as I expected…but I was honestly just disappointed with the overall atmosphere and experience. From the moment we walked into the restaurant, I was confused. The menu and branding had given me an intimate, warm and trendy vibe…but everything on site gave a casual, pub style vibe. The seating felt exposed, the food menus had stains on them, the drink menu felt like a shameless advertisement for affiliated restaurants, other parts of the menu had explicit drawings from prior guests, the music was loud and unintentional, the bathrooms felt institutional, the staff did not have a cohesive style/aesthetic. To be clear, none of this is inherently bad…but it felt like a far cry from the impression I had before arriving at the restaurant. So I was just a bit personally disappointed…

My friends and I went for dinner there recently. We shared the bread and butter, and for salads we had the beet salad and the tomato panzanella. For our mains, we all chose the tenderloins at varied levels of doneness. For sides, we shared the chicken fried oyster mushroom clusters (I didn't partake as I don't like mushroom, but they scored very high points with my tablemates!), fried potato pave, baked ratatouille, and rosemary parmesan fries. Desert was the lemon meringue. The food was excellent. In fact, I can say I haven't had a steak that tasted that good in Edmonton in a very long time. For the desert, we all thought we could have had more meringue and less citrus fruit, but it wasn't bad. Where the restaurant lost the point was in the service, but let me explain. It wasn't our server, who was just great, it was the amount of time we had to wait for our cocktails/drinks, and then our appetizers. It was later explained to me that they got backed up because they share the kitchen and bar with Woodshed burgers. It was not a seamless experience, which it should be when you pay over $300 for a meal for 3 people. I know this may sound picky, but I have to be honest. I would definitely go again.

Friendly service and certainly, has potential. The highs: Classic Steak Cuts ordered on this visit were the 6 oz Wagyu tenderloin and 10 oz 102-day dry-aged striplion. Will say that both were fantastic. We ordered the $6 Bernaise sauce to accompany the beef but honestly, it was not needed. The sides that we tried were the Beef Tallow Roasted Carrots and Brown Butter Sage Roasted Mushrooms -- the latter being the tastiest of the two. Now, the lows: the salad we ordered (The Wedge) was poorly plated and just was mediocre at best. The preserved cherries were rock hard and more risks to breaking a tooth over than anything else. Would not recommend this salad. The appetizer we tried, the Sablefish Crudo, sounded good on the menu but just was not very good; the flavoring did not work and if anything, the sweetness attempted should have been replaced with something more savory and possibly tart perhaps. A weird quirk we found too for this place: the abnormally small plates (almost tea-saucer sized) everything was served on was just bizarre. Will perhaps give the place another try down the road but in my opinion, better places for steak in town.
I don’t usually write a review but I do when I am extremely satisfied or extremely unsatisfied. Unfortunately this time I was extremely unsatisfied. Waiter was great at the beginning. Drinks were delicious. Atmospheres was okay but was very loud on the other side of the restaurant. My steak came out and was under cooked and chewy. I didn’t get asked once during my meal how it was. If I would have got asked sooner, I could have asked for it to be cooked more. The waiter came around to take the plates away and that’s when I was able to mention it to the waiter and all she said the manager would do was give me a $12 free dessert. It was an $80 steak. I wasn’t asked if I wanted the steak cooked more or if there was anything they could do. When i’m paying that much for a steak I expect a lot more. It was my birthday dinner and it was a big let down. Unfortunately I won’t recommend this place to anyone and we won’t be back.

The steak was really good! Everything we tried was pretty good in fact, except the mashed potatoes, they were really underwhelming compared to pretty much other restaurant I’ve been to, and I was quite honestly surprised at how not great they were just because everything else was so good. The server did a great job making recommendations and explaining the menu. We might have been here on an off day but it seemed like there was only one or two servers for the entire restaurant so it took a while to get seated etc but once we we ordered everything was great. It is quite expensive though even for what it is? I got the 10 oz striploin for $68, but it’s just the steak so add $11 for below average mashed potatoes, and $5 for meh peppercorn sauce. No veggies etc or anything else comes with the steak, everything is an add on. But they’re catering to the Cameron heights crowd so I guess it’s par for the course.

I went to a hiring fair for their new location and a couple days later they called me offering a job. I was really excited to have a job as I had been looking for a couple months. I then got a call from them a couple days later saying they didn’t have any positions for me… after they already offered me a job. I would have been fine if they had turned me down initially but instead they chose to offer me a job and get my hopes up about working there and after all that chose to turn me down. It was a very unprofessional thing for them to do and they should have handled the entire situation better. Poor organization. UPDATE FROM MY LAST REVIEW: The restaurant reached out to me expressing their empathy for my situation and took accountability for their mistake. I am glad they contacted me to show that they care about my experience. It may not change the outcome of the situation but it does help me to feel better about it.
First visit here was for brunch. Ordered the brisket hash, cubes of smoked brisket served on a bed of fried potatoes and onions, topped by two poached eggs with a stout hollandaise. The brisket was tender and flavourful, but the dish was under-seasoned on the whole, needing a healthy dash of salt. The rye toast served with the dish was dry and tough--a complaint shared by my table mates as well. The coffee may have been the worst part of the whole meal, sour and acidic, requiring ample amounts of cream and sugar to render it palatable. Hayloft needs to up their game when it comes to brunch fundamentals. That said, it's a nice room and we will probably return for dinner to check out the the steak and fish proffered in the restaurant's name.

Huge thanks to Sara, Mark, and everyone behind the scenes for making my first visit to Hayloft really shine! Had dinner with my girlfriends parents. Oysters from Effing were outstanding. The beet salad was excellent, vegetarian options are not an afterthought here! The dry-aged beef is 100% worth the splurge, both the sirloin and striploin were top notch. Family-style side dishes let you get a bite of everything, don't skip the chicken fried oyster mushrooms. The Lemon Semifreddo is as good a dessert as I've had anywhere in the world. No joke. Elegant, texturally interesting, with a perfect balance of sweet and tart. The value is tremendous. On Thirsty Thursday we were just over $100/pp for 2 dozen oysters and an appetizer, 4 steaks/entrees, sides, dessert, 4 cocktails, and 2 bottles of wine. Can't wait to come back!

Extremely underwhelmed! Firstly, our server was not hospitable on arrival, tried rushing us throughout the entire meal, and wanted to debate the meaning of 'a la carte', as he was confident it meant 'all together'. Then he was borderline argumentative on whether the grilled toast served with the 'catch of the day' (cold) was burnt or not, and he did not replace upon request. Secondly, my partner loves ketchup on his fries no matter what the application. Our fries arrived cold, not crispy, and when ketchup was requested, it was an unpredictable $4 extra charge on the bill! It wasn't even traditional ketchup, it was maple squash dip (which I would accepted if it had been explained beforehand, as we wouldn't have bothered). Wine was good, ribeye was delicious, and manager was present & attentive. Now the most overpriced restaurant in the city.
This place was mediocre at best and prices that far exceeded the quality & preparation of the food. Our server was sweet, which took the rating to 3 stars, but service in general was crazy slow. My steak was $40 a la carte and literally tasted just like a steak I’d bbq myself with salt and pepper from a local grocery store chain. I also asked for medium and it was medium rare. When you pay $40 for an 8 oz piece of meat, it should be cooked to order. Before that, we had bread and butter as one of our starters that was $9 and it had a giant air hole down the middle, which amounted to hardly any bread. This is the kind of bread that would be complimentary in many other steak places. Just totally underwhelmed and hoped for so much more. Probably won’t go back.

After a scheduling mix-up that otherwise would have left our group without a reservation the crew over at Hayloft went above and beyond to give us a culinary experience of a lifetime. Not only did they accommodate us while the restaurant was technically closed giving us a one on one dining experience and having the whole place to ourselves, we got to chat with the owner and management and received some special treats from their aged meat collection to sample. The food was amazing as expected from this group and the service was spot on. We have tried other names in their group of companies and Hayloft met and exceeded our expectations. Huge thankyou to Paul, Mark and the rest of the team for making our Bday experience so special, we will be life long customers.
Will not return. Went for dinner last night. The server was amazing, knowledgeable and charming. Four of us ordered the Brooklyn steak and sides. The chasseur -braised beef, mushroom tomato gravy was superb. By far the best thing on our table. The crispy potato dish was a close second. Everything was delicious, except for the steaks. They were very small and more than half of our portion was just fat. We each got 4 actual bites out of our steaks. They weren't even tasty bites as the steak was hardly seasoned at all. This is a steak house so definitely were expecting delicious meat. Steak was $39 and came with nothing. All sides were extra. Would happily have paid these prices though if the food was worth it , but it was definitely not
This place is 10/10 the customer service is incredible and the food is delicious. We had Allan as our server and he and his team were outstanding. What an elegant environment and comfortable seats. I can’t wait to come back and I can’t recommend this place enough!! Everyone should go because they really care about their costumers and treat people very well. We went after our wedding and they even gifted us a bottle of champagne and when I told them I couldn’t drink because pregnancy they brought me and my niece who’s a minor a special non-alcoholic cocktail. These people deserve everything

My hubby and I decided to go to Hayloft for our 6 year anniversary. We both came to the conclusion that we would rob pharmacies if that meant we could eat there every day (for legal reasons, that is a joke). Seriously though, the food was delightful. By far the best salmon I ever had (I think I told our server that it was “so f-ing good” when he checked in on us). Service was also great. Our waiter Marc was super knowledgeable and friendly. I’m pretty sure he’s also a manager, which I think is pretty rad.

Firstly, I really Like Woodshed Burgers!...unfortunately the same cannot be true about Hayloft Steak and Fish :( The food was below average - the brisk I had was mostly fat and my partners fish (advertised as Sable fish) was dry. Service was forgettable except they took my water glass and I drank my 750 ml bottle of Sparking Water from the bottle. When the meal was thankfully over, we were provided with a $150+ bill...not good value, With so many good restaurants in YEG, there are better choices in our city. Again...I really Like Woodshed Burgers!

Loved our visit here on a Thursday for the Oysters special from Effing Seafoods! Delicious! We had a small issue with the short rib being cold, and the servers/manager handled it amazingly. A new replacement was brought out promptly and apologies were made. The replacement was amazing and such a huge portion! They even comped the short rib (which I insisted they didn't need to do, but they still did). My mom got the Denver steak, Husband got the brisket, and my dad got the Poke Bowl. Everything was amazing, but the Denver was perfect!! All in all, definitely coming back. I would love to try their dry aged steaks!
We went to Hayloft and what an experience!! Everything seems thoughtfully considered from the drink menu to the dinner and dessert menu. We had such a great time that I forgot to take photos lol We had the General Manager stop and check in on us which just added to the great service. The atmosphere is really cool with the large round table and Chandelier hanging directly above it. The menu had extensive options even for me as I am a vegetarian. It was the perfect night and I’ll definitely be going back, next time I’ll make sure to snag some pics of all the amazing drinks and food!! A++ Hayloft
Probably not coming back. Waited an hour for the appetizers, 75% of the ordered appetizers is uncooked and the other is deviled eggs. Our waitress entertained table beside us at least 3 times, while we were ignored & no update whatsoever on our appetizers. Their food is bland despite the food presentation & elaborate description on the menu and tableside storytelling of food. I don't mind paying for expensive food as long as the quality is there. I think they purposely delay the food for you to buy more drinks?

Very good food. I had the ratatouille and was pleasantly surprised by it. Desserts are a bit small for the price, and although I liked my apple tart, I heard complaints from other people in my party that they weren't too happy with their choices. My main problem is I was seated near the front entrance, and the wall near the door has a gap for a pre-existing window, leading to random blasts of cold outside air. The interior also felt like it needed more noise control - the ambient sound level was loud for the number of people inside.

First off let me say if you have not been to Hayloft, you must, it is an absolute experience and a wonderful one at that! Amazing food, top quality and the service is unmatched. Took my BFF there for dinner and every was delicious, the atmosphere was very pleasing as well. The only complaint I’d make was that the cheesecake tasted a bit burnt and not as fresh as you’d expect, however our server actually bought it for my friends birthday which cancels all the negative out! So sweet of her, will definitely be back again and again!

Wanted to try Hayloft for a very long time now but their dinners are always a full house. Definitely, would recommend planning and having a reservation. Brunch was slower. My experience overall was very good. Their customer service is excellent! From our lovely server to the manager. They were receptive to feedback and always willing to ensure that your experience is the best! Food was amazing, loved my steak and the coffee was surprisingly really good as well. Definitely will be coming back.

This restaurant is an absolute delight. Mark served our group and he's such a gem! I highly recommend this restaurant, the food and drinks were outstanding, the service couldn't have been any better (we were a group of 13)

I am quite shocked at the amount of four stars here. I went for dinner a month ago with some friends and I was not impressed. My meat was almost all fat and I ended up sending it back. The drinks were decent and the server was great but the rest of the experience was mediocre at best. My family attended this evening and had an even worse experience. Same issue again with the meat, it was all fat. Service was slow and somehow the food managed to come out before the drinks. None of us will be returning.
Best place for steak in the city. Their Shepherds Pie is the ultimate comfort food. Potatoes were not hot when we went but still delicious. Can't be perfect all the time. Our server was sweet but it took over 20min for her to come with the bill. My boyfriend went looking for her so we could leave. Just an off night I think, otherwise the food and service is great here!

My husband and I tried Hayloft and their next door sister restaurant, Woodshed, and we were very happy with our experience. My husband had the unconvential steak bites (Denver cut) with Chaga cheddar potatoes and I had the classic burger from Woodshed. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his meal and said it was the best steak he's had in Alberta so far. I couldn't stop eating the Chaga cheddar mashed potatoes. Drinks and atmosphere were also excellent, as was customer service. We will be back for sure!
We recently went here for my husbands birthday. The cocktails were delicious however we were quite disappointed with the food and service. Our server was very polite however courses took quite a long time to come out. The Rockefeller Oysters were almost inedible, the lobster béarnaise was also very difficult to eat. We will likely not be returning based on the prices being fine dining and our experience being sub par.

Visited Hayloft with a friend for our annual Christmas dinner. It’s a very nice room with very attentive and friendly staff. Their High Fashioned gin cocktail was quite good and seemed to go well with the oysters. Dinner was really good although we both agreed that things seemed a touch salty. Other than that, everything was quite tasty. Definitely left very full! I wouldn’t hesitate to eat at Hayloft again.

Had Hayloft on my want to go list for awhile and had a great dining experience. Service and food quality was excellent. Staff really knew their stuff and it helped to make decisions from the excellent menu. Had the Club Cut entrée along with the carpaccio for an appetizer. Good wine list and prices! Highly recommend!

Absolutely delicious. They split the poutine and the brisket bowl so we could share as a family and it was perfect. Hayloft is part of a larger restaurant group. Woodshed Burger is nextdoor and they share a kitchen. The woodshed Burger is even on the hayloft brunch menu if you wanted.

We visited a few months ago, the food was incredible. Love that they support local farmers, which benefits the customer too so they get the best and freshest meats. The cherry sauce glazed beef rib was the best I have ever had. I still think about it. The deviled eggs were beautifully displayed too. I will definitely be back.

Marc and his crew did an amazing job. Food was amazing and service was impeccable. I believe Kayla was our server and she was wonderful. Arancini Balls were delicious as was the smoked seafood dip. Salmon was perfect and so was the sturgeon. Wonderful anniversary dinner for my sister and her husband and me and my husband.

Phenomenal place! You can tell they have the freshest/best ingredients for both food and drinks with a passionate staff that has the expertise to elevate the whole experience. The best cocktails in the city (for me), stunning food that makes you take a second to appreciate after every bite and knowledge staff that are so personable it makes you feel like you are among friends. I love this place, have been multiple times and can't wait to go back!
What beautifully created dishes. The room was beautiful, yet not too formal, the space felt welcoming & relaxed good to enjoy any night of the week. We enjoyed our Tuesday night out, with a cocktail and bottle of wine and a few tapas. Mark, the general manger, made sure our evening was great. The service was fabulous. We finished the night off with a beautiful refreshing dessert.

My wife had an 18oz dry aged ribeye that was cooked a perfect medium rare and was so succulent with the port glaze! I had the brisket and it was as delicious as its looked going out all week! We had a 2006 bordeaux off the secret cellar list and it was a delightful accompaniment to both our dishes! Kari was knowledgable and attentive! I might be a bit biased but credit where credit is due! The experience was 5 star from start to finish!
Service was stellar, our waiter was lovely, knowledgeable, and made pleasant conversation. Unfortunately for the price, the food is lacklustre. We had tenderloin with lobster bernaise and a side each; our meal was nearly $200. The steak had great texture but tasted like… nothing? Just really lacking in flavour. The mushroom risotto, however, was delicious.

Don't normally leave reviews but had to after the amazing dinner I had there. Service was some of the best I've had at any restaurant and even had the GM come to see how the meal/evening was. The food was absolutely amazing!!! Oysters were fresh, local and delicious, carpaccio was incredible. Did not try the steak (next time), but the mains were delicious and portions are generous. Highly recommend and will definitely be back
Great date night restaurant. The food was amazing, the server Colson was knowledgeable about the food and wine. He recommended a great Merlot with our steak and we finished with a coconut crème pie and coffees that capped off a beautiful evening with my best girl. 5 stars!

Service, food, drinks and cuts of meat…..A++ The service is friendly, helpful, attentive with out being pushy! Our server was a gem! The food was excellent, we did order half the menu for four of us! Their steaks (Bavette & Ribeye) we’re melt in your mouth cooked to perfection. The appetizers, and sides to the steaks were delicious. I would recommend you check out this new addition to south Edmonton!
Went here with my partner, atmosphere was great! We ordered the beet salad, absolutely delicious. The steaks on the other hand were not great. It was a disappointing place to pick when we both were craving a good steak. Won’t go back.

Great service, decent atmosphere. Food was really great, but the $72 steak price point should be on the website and menus so customers know what they're getting into. Kind of embarrassing to walk into a local eatery and be hit with Ruth Chris level pricing. The non steak entrees were reasonable. I will crave the short rib.

Came here for Wife's birthday. Some of the best steak I've ever eaten in my life. 30 day dry aged striploin. Melts in your mouth. Super buttery and soft! Cooked Medium perfectly. The truffle parmesan fries were delicious. The parmesan cheese tasted so good on its own. Mashed potatoes could've used a bit more seasoning but overall amazing! Definitely coming back!
The food here is very good. My girlfriend, who very rarely enjoys red meat, was delighted at the tenderness and flavor of the brisket. I had the ribs which were also very good if a little bit fatty. The cocktails we had were also quite good. The meals here are a bit pricey, but the portions are quite large so you get more for what you pay than it seems like.
Went there last night with my daughters and friend for a ladies night out. We had the beef carpaccio to start it was so delicious I would recommend it. We all had varies meals. He has unique foods. It isn’t cheap so prepare to spend for a special evening The waiter was wonderful and all the staff very good and friendly. I say go and treat yourself.
Food was delicious, service was great, and the pricing was lower than expected for the quality. The oysters were amazing...just order a dozen, 6 isn't enough. We're looking forward to going back and trying new dishes.

I believe the word is whelmed. We were left whelmed. Nothing horrible, but nothing spectacular either. Server was doing her best, but the service wasn’t great. Expect chipped wine decanters, and a shrug of you mention it when they pour your $150 wine into it.

Fantastic restaurant west side. Steak tartar and "Denver" were top notch and must tries. Sablefish was beautifully cooked and the house made kimchi was unreal. Impeccable service and great wine list. This is definitely a restaurant worth checking out.

We had numerous dishes, all fantastic, great atmosphere and love the commitment to local! Carpaccio was amazing and the seafood so fantastic!! Enjoyed some delicious drink menu options and wine selections too. Can’t wait to go back …
Pricey, pretty basic, my steak was meh. Took them 10 minutes to figure out they didn't have what I wanted to drink, then another 10 to figure out how to make the drink I settled for.

Went to Hayloft for Father’s Day brunch and were incredibly impressed. The lobster eggs Benedict was one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. The staff genuinely care and ensure you’re always looked after. Can’t wait to try dinner here!
Food and service are excellent but the presentation of the food needs work. If customers like us already ate appetizers and don’t want any sides go with the steak, the steak arrives solo on the plate and i don’t feel like I want to eat
Love this place the food was so good. Steaks were so juicy and tender. Beef is sourced locally from Nonay farms and seafood comes from one of the best suppliers Effing Seafoods. I will definitely be heading back. Wine list is awesome!
Fresh food supplied by local farmers combined with a good selection of local craftbeers and premium cocktails. What more can you ask for!? Super impressed with my first visit. We are lucky to have this place in Cameron Heights.
First time visit. Good location and parking. Friendly staff. The dining is kind of loud. The Vietnamese coffee port beer is very good. The dining is well staffed compared to other restaurants. Good selections of high end food.
We enjoyed a really fabulous evening. Fun cocktails. Steaks were excellent. Ordered sides to share as recommended by the server. Highly recommend.

Do not bother eating here!!! The food is disgusting, they don’t care about food safety and the kitchen is infested with flies and has the presence of rodents. Save your money and your time.
Dinner was delicious, excellent service, well worth the visit. The chef is invested in his quality of food, was very friendly as he checked in on the tables. Would highly recommend.
