This place would’ve been 5/5 except they took advantage of my wife on my birthday. She ordered me the Batman cake they have on display. Yes, I’m a Batman fan. They end up giving my cake to the wrong person and slap together a cake with shoddy Batman logos and “bat wings” that look like brown flames versus bat wings. My wife was elated to get me this cake on my 40th birthday so she took me to see the cake. I saw her face was stunned but she didn’t want to ruin my birthday by haggling with the bakery. My wife told our nanny it wasn’t the right cake. I overheard them and pushed to have it returned. We took pics, called the store before we touched the cake to let them know it’s not right. The employees said we need ti call when the owner returns the next day. Well, the day we got the cake was my birthday, so we ate some cake (heavens bistro owner THATS ON YOU!). My wife called today and the owner has the audacity to only give us 1/2 refund since 1/2 the cake was eaten. FYI, THATS ILLEGAL! We didn’t get the product we paid for and we told you about it. I’ve worked at cafes and people returned 90% eaten pastries and we had to refund the money if the customer didn’t like the product. You can lift your nose to this owner, but I promise you we’re not buying from your shop going forward. It’s not a threat, it’s a customer’s right. To her employees who tried to hoodwink us, shame on you! The ethical compass of this place is disgusting and, now that I think about it, based on the actions of the owner it’s no wonder the employees would try and hide a mistake rather than own up to it.

Edit: I’ve had to chance my rating because of how drastically prices have gone up. Except for cookies, across the board it looks like everything costs at least $2 more now. For instance, a slice of roll cake used to be $3.50 and now it’s $6.50 (I went back and looked at the prices in pictures that people have posted over time to make sure). Their prices are not affordable any more, and while it’s delicious, I don’t think they make anything of such rare and high quality to justify the newer costs. I highly recommend! The staff is super friendly, the pastries were superb, and the prices are cheaper than the Whole Foods bakery but just as good quality and selection!

The brownie with cookie in the middle was freshly baked. And I do mean freshly as in was still warm when they handed it to me (without use of microwave or toaster oven for reheating). It's called a brownie but it reminded me more of a mini molten chocolate cake. It was delicious. Very moist and rich. Warm, melt in your mouth, chocolate-ness. The croissant was the most flaky I've had in Austin so far. The texture was perfection!! Super light, flaky, delicate. When it was warm it was not buttery enough for my personal preference but once it cooled completely it was surprisingly more buttery. Both items were fantastic and fresh. Will definitely be returning.

I’m a bit upset#1 I walked in and wasn’t spoke to.#2 The next thing that was said is we are closed and it was 5:04pm.Ok I’m sorry .What’s 4 minutes to a paying customer? Its not like I came in expecting to get free things at that time and I was just passing by and wanted something sweet no idea of times or anything. However since I pass this establishment going to my hospital I’ll make it my business not to go back at the correct time.I’ll be sure to tell my co- workers and doctors as well to not place any orders as well. That way we can be treated right even though we got off shift a little late and went there as a first stop 4 min late

this beautiful bakery was as adorable as it was delicious (incredibly so)! tastefully decorated and has a wide variety of sweets and pastries to purchase. additionally, the bistro menu has ample options for breakfast & lunch, which i hope to try in the future because i would love to come again! they also serve coffee & espresso beverages. i ordered an egg and steak croissant sandwhich which put all others i’ve had to shame. the croissant was impeccable, and did I mention their meats are halal?! this spot was definitely heavenly and i would highly recommend to anyone in austin xx

Another one off the list! I love this place! Not only is everything priced fairly, but the prices don't mean lower quality on the food you're eating. I got a chicken kolache that was absolutely beautiful, I'd never had one before and the bread yall...THE BREAD. No wonder it's called Heaven's Bistro, you'll be out here thinking you may have actually died and gone to heaven. Everything here is top freaking notch. I got some honey almond cookies that were also just so beautiful and a croissant that I'll be having with my tomato soup today. This place is definitely a huge win.

I had heard good things about this place and was not disappointed at all. We ordered a mix of both sweet and savory items. The Chocolate Chantilly cake was amazing! Their sandwiches were also very tasty. We tried the Brisket sandwich, Chicken pesto sandwich and the Steak and cheese sandwich. I would recommend all of them. Also, the sweet potato bisque was delicious and perfectly complemented the savory pesto chicken. I'm not a red velvet person, in fact I actively avoid it, however their's was delicious. I highly recommend checking it out.

I wanted to give this place a shot as the reviews were positive. I am giving them 2 stars because the cake was beautiful and exactly the look I was seeking when I sent them a picture. However the cake was very dry and not very tasty. When we cut into the cake the frosting (italian butter cream) it cracked off the cake. I have NEVER seen this happen and I have ordered many cakes in my lifetime. It was horrible and quite embarrassing. Sorry heaven’s but it was not up to par. Wish I photos of the cake with the icing broken.

Desserts taste amazing! Just the right amount of sweetness! I liked their cheesecakes most! The only issue was that there was only one guy working on our visit, and he was trying to get the orders, prepare them, get the payment from customers, etc. He was so busy that he mixed our coffee's and when we asked for which is which, he said "Have you tried tasting them?" :). All in all, this is a cute small bistro that serves amazing desserts. One more thing, we also tried plain croissant but it was way too buttery, fyi.

  • Esteban Pérez-Hemminger

Cute place, nice staff and various gluten-free (GF) options. My wife like all three GF thing we got, but the Torta Caprese was her fave. The Almond Cake was a close second, but the Brownie was solid too. They have lots of regular gluten filled options too that I might try next time, from cheesecake, to cookies, and tarts. Coffee was decent but nothing to rave about. Only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars. Nice find but a bit hidden on Parmer. I missed the ting entrance and had to turn around. Was worth it.

  • Kysha Martinez

This place is wonderful! I've found my little slice of Heaven! Coming here is now a weekend ritual for my husband and I. I wish I could review this place over and over again with 5 stars everytime. They have a wide variety of options, and they also rotate what they make daily! It's very clean, and when you walk in you just want to stare at all of the beautiful yummy creations!!! Thank you for opening! I've been wanting a bakery nearby and just like that, here you are!!!

  • David Young

Really quaint little bakery and I'm sure their sweets are very good, I just wanted a baguette, it was good but I thought expensive ($ 6.50 )

Outstanding quality from the sweets to the lunch menu. I've had the egg and cheese croissant and the croque madame. They were both the best I've ever had and my partner agrees. You're also not going to find a better cafe in North Austin. They have a beautiful Victoria Arduino espresso machine and a barista who knows what they're doing. Worth a trip, and make sure to ask for the outdoor seating, which you may not even notice if you don't ask. This is our new Sunday spot.

Great local bakery and cafe! They have some amazing cakes and pastries! Love stopping by here to grab a croissant and baguette. The staff is always friendly and everything we’ve tried has been awesome!

I ordered two custom cheese cakes for the first time, the person named Kyler picked up the phone, and she was super helpful and patient, along with providing her own input for the event it was for. Would recommend looking into this place if you are a first timer like me.

The croissant egg cheese (with turkey added) was excellent. The fruit cheesecake was probably the best cheesecake I’ve had. The tiramisu was also very good, but a bit strong on the coffee flavor for me. The pecan bar was very good. I cared less for the lemon bar, had too much eggy flavor for me. Did not like the cinnamon roll. It was undercooked and too gooey/doughy. Well packaged and pretty presentation. Would order here again.

  • Katlyn Butschek

Would not return again. Super rude staff and I was the only one in the store. I felt like I was bothering them. The gal packaged up my pastry in a to-go container and never asked if I wanted to eat here or to-go. I asked if I was allowed to eat there and she said “oh yeah that’s fine”. Expensive pastry for lack luster service. A friendly “hello” and “thank you”would make customers feel appreciated. I will gladly go elsewhere

Amazing breakfast sandwiches & pastries! We got the cinnamon roll & a strawberry danish. The cinnamon roll was so good, with cream cheese frosting. We got a couple of lattes as well that were delicious. Slightly pricey, but worth it for the quality!

We come here all the time for breakfast and they have the best pastries. Great variety, high quality. I’ve never tried anything here that wasn’t 5 stars. We recently ordered a custom cake for our wedding (chocolate raspberry with chocolate ganache) and it was the most delicious cake I have ever had. Highly recommend for any special occasion or regular day.

Honey stop the car! this place is awesome. After a long time thinking about trying this place, we actually did it. And all we can say is “this place is hands down one of the best bakeries in the world” We tried their mexican mocha, hot chocolate, chocolate croissant, pumpkin cake roll, and the red velvet passion fruit cake. Everything was on point, fresh, and delicious. I would highly recommend it!

  • Monica Himes

Came here on a friend's recommendation and I was not disappointed. Great tasting croissant. I also had the beef puff and the meat was a bit dry but it tasted great. The service was fast and super friendly, even though they kept making small ordering mistakes. I loved the way they decorated the place, inviting and modern. Also the pastry selection looked amazing, will have to come back for more.

  • Yusuf Yilmaz

The food is so good!! I went here for a quick breakfast with my family it was very affordable and delicious we ordered a croissant scramble, veggie omelettes, and strawberry banana smoothie. The portions were also very good and filling. We ate in the beautiful outdoor dining area of the bakery. Everything was very nice and I would highly recommend coming here!

  • Ran An

Stopped by here today and really enjoyed the food. Tons of cakes and other baked treats, but they also have savory options as well. We got a brisket kolache, a chocolate croissant. Both we're delicious. The hot chocolate was good as well. A GREAT place for treats for the Mamas that are staying at the post partum rooms at the nearby hospital!

If you're a fan of delightful pastries and an overwhelming assortment of options, this bakery is an absolute must-visit. From the perfectly delicious Veg Puff to the mouthwatering Butter Croissant, every bite was a taste of pure bliss. Don't miss out on this gem of a bakery that offers both quality and quantity in the most delightful way.

  • A C

Staff was nice and attentive, but the pastries lacked flavor. We had the lemon loaf, potato puff and chicken puff. Lemon loaf was a tad dry and flat. The puffs looked so pretty, but the dough tasted like nothing. And I’m serious. I was expecting to be greeted with buttery, flakey goodness but instead was met with dull flavors.

  • Minden Ten Eyck

Very delicious! I had a brisket sandwich. My hopes were not high, because I never expect barbecue to be that good outside of a barbecue restaurant. But this sandwich was fantastic! I didn't have any sweets, but there were many to choose from. If you want to get a baguette, make sure you get there within the first hour or so!

  • annie andrews

Sadly, we had a bad experience - where do I start? Quality seems to have drastically deteriorated from a few months ago. They USED to be good. Not anymore. Cake was hard & lumpy, tasted bad, they packaged it into a HUGE cardboard box (no covering or packaging around the cake), cake wasn’t even ready at the appointed time.

  • Todd Reay

The presentation and design of these slices of cakes, macaroons, and other pastries are devine. They taste as amazing as they look. Friendly and helpful counter service as well. They have delicious coffee selections, too. Check them out. Pictured below is a slice of Red Riding Hood cake and a delightful purple macaroon.

  • Aashutosh Nema

Cute place for a coffee date. Tried almond croissant, butter croissant and latte, all three were delicious. They serve freshly baked breads. Weekend lunch options are from morning 7:30 to 2 pm but the bakery is open till 5 everyday. They have outdoor seating option as well. You can also get customized cakes here.

Heavens Bistro is a hidden gem. It's cute, staff is friendly, and the coffee and baked goods are OUT OF THIS WORLD. Best croissants I've ever had and I've had French croissants. Cannot recommend them enough. Go for breakfast too. Their French toast and omeletts are so delicious. Go and support local businesses!

  • prerna narayanan

Super disappointed about how my bday cake order turned out!! The front desk person was very helpful in understanding the wants of my order . I am not sure where the miscommunication took place but even though my cake looked good, the cake wasn’t remotely close to being edible. It ruined the party in total!!

  • Mona Santandrea

I can not say enough great things about this place. The baked goods are amazing. You can not find a better croissant anywhere, and the coffee is superb. They have a back patio with a good atmosphere. Friendly and courteous staff, and the owner comes out to greet people often. Fantastic neighborhood bakery.

  • Nancy Wu

The breakfast items and some dessert pastries are pretty good. The breakfast is available 8-12 Tue-Fri, 8-2 on weekends. Just discovered from another review that there's this great fully fenced in area plus tiny fountain in the back that's very kid-friendly! I'll definitely be coming back more often now:)

  • Shea Curtis

We love this place! Love their vanilla lattes, not too sweet. We frequently come here for a quick pastry and coffee. We ordered a cake for Halloween and told them to have fun with the design and LOVED what they did. It was a red velvet cake with whipped cream frosting and chocolate chips in the filling.

  • Ms Jennings

Pretentious pricing. Would sell more if brownies wernt the size of a postage stamp and macaroons are half the size of a normal. Otherwise great quality. Expect the cost to be around $2 a bite.

We ordered a 10in chocolate cake for a birthday party. One of the most amazing cakes I have ever had. Apart from the personal touch that this place provides in crafting a cake, they have a great bakery inside the store that you ought to try. Order your next cake from here and you won’t be disappointed!

  • John Troppy

Nice place, staff was friendly. Got the croquet monsieur and a panna cotta. Both tasted good. The sandwich is too big; maybe serving half that along with a salad. Toasting the outside would be a nice touch. I like that the panda cotta was not overly sweet but would benefit with some vanilla paste.

  • Erin Defosse

My wife is a pastry chef herself and when we try out new pastry shops (which is basically all we do when we travel) we try one thing first: their croissants. In our experience that is a very strong signal on how good or bad the place is. In this case the croissant was excellent. Congrats!

  • Fernie Jimenez

My sweet tooth almost jumped out and did a happy dance. Everything look so good. I got a croissant, kolache, and some awesomely decorated cookies (had to get the dino cookies!) Everything was good! The croissant was one of the best I've tasted in a while. Definitely be back!

My dad and I go here almost every weekend for breakfast, the employees are super friendly and the pastries are always fantastic especially the croissants. We decided to order a cake for my birthday and it came out perfectly, I would highly recommend Heavens Bistro.

  • Serena Saldana

Food and pastries are delicious. Just make sure you have 2 hours to wait to actually receive said food. Don’t bother asking how long because the young lady in front will act bothered and snap on you. I’ll chalk it up to her maybe having a bad day.

  • Parvathy Iyer

Everything we got was good. The croissant was buttery and flaky, the pecan bar was delicious, but the highlight for me was the chocolate orange cake, moist with just the right amount of orange. Can't wait to go back and try their other offerings.

  • Coreen Bohl

Wow! What a bakery case! Stopped her after accompanying a family member to a nearby doctor's appointment. Went in for a latte and left with that and desserts for tonight. Portion sizes are reasonable and the variety is lovely. Worth checking out!

  • Blenda Orellana

Nice place to get a pastry, coffee or lunch. If you want to have options for pastries show up early as they make a limited amount of them and they tend to run out of them by 11:00 am. The service is good and you might have to wait a little

Pretty disappointed to have to leave this review. I have been here a number of times and the pastry is excellent. However, I did encounter a major issue easily fixed and was ignored when contacted the owners to resolve it.

  • Dip Desai

Best bakery by far. Their food whether it’s sandwiches or the baked good are all excellent. I get cakes from here and literally everyone loves those. Their desserts are really good too. It’s a bit pricey but worth it!

  • Chris Dodson

Best croissant in Austin, hands down. Amanda is awesome and the coffee and grub is solid. I like the white chocolate latte, not too sweet, just right! Get the croissant, so buttery perfect…you will be in….Heaven :)

So many beautifully made sweet treats! I had the beef Kolache - DELICIOUS. Also grabbed a yummy coffee. Outside seating is adorable and clean, lots of seating. Restrooms are private and well kept.

Best. Croissants. Ever! I have never had such light fluffy buttery croissants that you just can't seem to stop eating. I took mine home and cut it in half and put ham and cheese inside. YUM!

Incredible food and staff! Several gluten free options (one pictured). The times for snagging a breakfast is sorta tricky since the hours for breakfast change during the week so heads up.

Amazing gluten free desserts! They have a great selection. Their almond cake and passion fruit cake are my favorites. + The gf chocolate chip cookie is excellent. Highly recommend!!

  • Liz Bailey

Best cinnamon roll I’ve ever had! Good for kids. They don’t have breakfast sandwiches every day. Just discovered today they also have an amazing, fenced in outdoor space out back.

So delicious and reasonably priced! I’m a huge fan and I’m sure you will be too if you decide to go. I recommend everything but the almond croissant is the best in my opinion

A seraphic harmony of coffee and confections, hebetated by a lack of vegan options - despite being ideally situated not far from 2 vegan-friendly restaurants.
