This was my favorite spot , my go to place. Until I received the most terrible service and food. My empanada was burnt to a crisp and my husband's empana was served upside down leaving it too soggy to eat due to the wet salad now on top of it. I called to explain my frustration and was not told sorry only given excuses blaming me, claiming the empanada was not served upside down that it was picked up late causing it to be soggy and as for my burnt to a crisp empanada I was told to bring it back if I want a new one. The rice and beans was mostly rice almost no beans and was packaged so terribly the beans ran all over the entire order. The employee was extremely rude and would not take any responsibility for the terrible order. Means to say I will be talking to the boss about this. Service and food absolutely unacceptable! Such a disappointment and the customer service is the worst I have ever experienced.

I bought a steak taco and a steak empañada today. They were both pretty good! The meat was good in both. The crispy empañada was my favorite. It was surprisingly long! When I pulled it apart the cheese stretched out and it was so fun to eat. A couple of minor downsides: I felt like the taco was small ($2.50 for each... Eek). And there wasn't enough green sauce. I should've asked for more but I didn't know it was a small portion until after I drove away with my food. That's MY fault. I was just adding that fact in the review so others can make sure they ask for more sauce. Another thing is that I waited for about 15 minutes (I can wait, but I was expecting quicker service from a food truck). The location is a bit odd. You'll see it though. All in all, it's a good place for a quick bite to eat. My review is probably more critical than others because I've tried a lot of Hispanic food trucks before. But, this is is a great place for the majority of the people. So, don't let my review persuade you to not try it out.

I waited over an hour for 2 items. I ordered tacos and enchiladas. I told the lady in Spanish and English. She gave me salad with chicken instead of enchiladas like I asked for! At this point I had already waited over an hour there was no point in waiting for another 30-40 minutes for them to fix the issue and give me what I asked for in the first place, the tacos were good but the salad went straight in the trash and waisted $15 on being given the wrong item. Would not go here again, waiting over an hour on a weekday for 2 meals is crazy and then they don’t even give me what I asked and paid for.

Considering Taco trucks in Mid-Town Tampa, there's a lot of competition. With a menu palette of essentially four ingredients, standing out is a challenge. But Given the right location, the right quality of those four ingredients, and the right portions, standing out is doable. So I recommend Hectors Mexican Food truck because the location is right (for me), the portions are exactly what you want for the price (perhaps even generous considering other trucks at the price point), and the quality is outstanding. But it is important to note a sign they have over the window: it's fresh food, not fast food. Be prepared to enjoy a shaded outdoor patio, that if had cornhole, would be perfect.

The service was extremely slow. I was on my tiptoes trying to see if anyone was inside. Not sure why there is a bell if no one is listening. This was a first stop for me during lunch in the middle of the week. Not a good idea because of the wait. I see other customers reviews say to call ahead. Oh, bring a friend that speaks English. They only speak Spanish and unless you want your food exactly as it comes, your screwed. My friend got sour cream on her food, I asked for mine on the side, their response, no more sour cream. With so many Mexican choices in town, they can keep the sour cream.

I thought I knew what I was getting myself in for 3:00am in the morning this place Hector's Mexican restaurant let me try it out this place is one of the best Mexican restaurants I've ever been to the empanada tastes so weird and good that hot sauce oh my goodness that green hot sauce taste like it got tequila in it soo hot and the quesadillas beef oh my goodness I don't know any other Mexican restaurant anymore Taco Bell don't have anything on this place its small but compact service takes a little while but that's okay that food makes up for it. I don't know what happened to Hector's, it used to be really good food at a good price. Not anymore. It took over an hour to get our food we were charged double. I'm not sure if it was because we are white and they were serving all of the Spanish people b4 us even tho we placed our order first,was told 20 min. 1 hour later we are still waiting, we were charged double for our order , didn't even get what we ordered, it was cold and nasty even the hungry crow wouldn't eat it. Very rude service. You will have better luck across the street at the closed down churches chicken. Dont waste your time or money there.

Great food. This place is an excellent choice for late-night food. The burrito I had was absolutely delicious and the quesadilla was equally as good the Honduran enchiladas looks delicious and we'll definitely have to try them. Staff are friendly and service is lightning fast. This place is also open extremely late. Excellent Taqueria stand. This place is great for real Mexican and South American food.

Now I've eaten at almost every taco stand there is in Temple terrace. Hector is by far 1 of the best tacos I've had. You must come and try it out if your looking for good tacos. Portions are big for the price you pay , nice sitting areas and nice people!

This place used to be great. Then decent. Now you can only rely on them to be open and for you to wait extra. We tried placing an order on the phone, waited 7 min before calling back after being forgotten and was told 25-30 min. Drove there and they said they never took my order. They never know what's going on there, there's lack of communication, and lack of care at this point. I will not be returning anymore unfortunately.

Hector is friend because I deliver fruits and vegetables to the market where hectors is located and I have eaten there several times. This place has some of the best Latin food I’ve ever had and more and more people are starting to notice, most of the time this place is packed and for good reason the food is delicious and always made to order and because it’s located at a produce market ALL the food is made super fresh. I would highly and I mean highly recommend this place and my personal favorite order is the tacos supreme.

24-hour Mexican food what??? I was in town visiting it was 5 in the morning we were starving and I found this place on maps.. to my surprise when I pulled up there was already some cars there.. it was like a Tuesday night.. well Wednesday morning we both got steak fajitas definitely restaurant quality supergas everything homemade from scratch and you could taste it. I ordered the four taco meal and they only had three choices of meat which was pork chicken or steak, and then it took him about 15 minutes to make it which was just the meat cilantro and onions, not very intricate or difficult at all. It also the meat was dry and overcooked and burned and there was just maybe two slivers of onions on it and the hot sauce wasn't very hot or good either I would not recommend eating at this place unless you want to waste your money and eat mediocre food

Me and my girlfriend woke up at 3 am super hungry. We went to drive to mcdonalds but we saw this on the way and wanted to try something new. It was absolutely delicious and so authentic. We decided to go back again the next day and ordered the fried fish, and it was a perfect meal for us. Definitely gonna be going there much more often, and the staff was so nice and helpful.

The family that runs this Mexican food stand does a great job. I think the mom is the cook and her daughters work the register - her daughters are friendly and have good customer service and the food is pretty good. This place is delicious and has a very friendly staff! I’ve been coming here for years with my friends and we haven’t found a place that even comes close to the food and the sauce nothing compares in the Tampa Bay Area! Plus they’re open 24/7 what more can you ask for? They are consistently great! I always try to bring new people with me to try it and they always end up loving it too!

Love to eat the food here. I typically call ahead for pickup. I suggest you do the same since they make everything to order. If you do order there, there will be a wait. The food is still worth it.

Don’t get me wrong the food is Good, But lately they have been portioning the food very little bit . I paid $14.00 for their Beef rib plate . The rice literally covered the bottom of the plate & so did the beans . The beef ribs were very thin sliced and I only received 2little slices. I have been coming to hectors for years since it was in a used car lot down the street and it hasn’t been that great these days. The carne asada is more like a shredded beef and it is a bit dry and bland. Nowadays I only pop by when it is late and nothing else is open.

This was an awesome experience. We got the taco Supreme and they tasted very authentic and the food came out nice and hot! The green sauce they give you has a good amount of kick! We liked the steak over the pork yet both where great. Thanks cant wait to come back. Eat local and get Mexican food where the local hard working Hispanics go!

Burrito was priced just right. Super small I'm use to Chicago style foot ball sized burritos for this price. Shell was doughy. Sour cream was watery . Taste over all was good. Shell wasn't even wrapped. Felt like a taco than a burrito. Have yet to try their tacos. But I'll give them another try maybe.

So first of all, it took about 30 minutes to get my 4 little chicken tacos when there was only 2 other people there. The chicken was dry, I got the supreme with sour cream and everything & somehow it was still dry. It tasted decent, not at all worth the time or the money. Never again.

The service is great!! The beef could use a little less salt. But the food is good and the place is clean. The best bet is to call ahead to place an order. I did not care for the pupusas, but that's because it's not for me.. Enjoy
