I’ve been going to Helena’s for ten years and definitely would rate 10/10 for the actual cleaning - they do a phenomenal job every time I spill coffee on my clothes(!) and they also offer a variety of other miscellaneous cleaning services - purses, comforters etc. Also Dharti is awesome! I trust Helena’s and recommend them for cleaning. My only issue is around their communication around updates to their business. Two recent examples: a) They unexpectedly closed the Lower Queen Anne location for a remodel with no advanced communication to customers who had dropped off clothes for cleaning at that location. It was initially unclear how to get my clothes back, and I had to call for additional information - they finally let me know I could pick up my clothes at a different location. They were also swamped during the remodel era and it took several weeks to get my clothes back. Not a big deal, but I would have appreciated better communication. Helena’s did email about the remodel about a week after I went to the location that was closed to try to pick up my clothes. B) They recently instituted a new pricing model (also no announcement) with a significant up-charge for cleaning clothes of any brand considered premium. For example, a Row dress that costs $25.10 to be cleaned now also has a 30% brand up-charge of $7.53 attached. The issue I have here is that this pricing change was never announced, it defies logic, and it is inconsistent (it’s not a static percentage or steady fee, it’s not materials-based and they can’t provide a list of brands despite me asking twice via email, and it seems to be random in terms of what is considered a premium brand.) Their only explanation was that certain brands require more detailed cleaning. The reason this logic makes no sense is that I have a few vintage items that are those same brands, just without the tag, and I am not charged an extra fee for those items. I will keep going to Helenas, but would appreciate more price integrity in the future.

I used them to dry clean a rug that cost me thousands, over $6k. They sent it to a specialty rug cleaner. When I received my rug, it was ruined. It has large black marks all over the entire rug. My rug was in pristine condition before, it had no marks on it whatsoever - I just needed it cleaned because of allergies. I wish I never trusted them with my item and looked at their Yelp reviews. They did not care that they ruined my rug and did nothing to fix it - zero customer service. I'm absolutely devastated because this was my mom's rug and she passed away so it is irreplaceable. RUN AWAY. Edit: I was told that they take 1 star reviews seriously and to reach out to the company - I've already spoken to managers about this and they do not care. They've since edited their response to me. The business refuses to accept responsibility. I am disabled, was recovering from surgeries on both wrists, and could not even lift the rug to inspect it within their 12 day time period which I repeatedly told them. Additionally, I needed movers to move the furniture to be able to lay this huge rug down. There are no other factors that could have damaged the rug - it was wrapped in Helena’s packaging the entire time until it was unraveled. This business ruined this expensive, irreplaceable rug and continues to dismiss it. Do NOT trust them with your items!

I had a vintage piece I needed dry cleaned, and after asking around it seemed like Helena’s was a safe option. I asked the staff if their process was fragile, and I was assured there would be no issue. I was told the manager would call if they didn’t think my item was safe. When I picked up my item, there was a note on the ticket saying “broken zipper.” I (wrongly) assumed this meant they had found a broken zipper and repaired it. Instead, they ripped my garment in two different places near the zippers and had stained it in another. The employee did not acknowledge the note, so I ended up paying for Helena’s to damage and stain my clothes. My roommate later brought a cashmere sweater to them that they ripped as well. I’d avoid this location at all costs or hand wash your clothes. Truly disappointing experience. Edit: Helenas - Why would I take my item back to your location for repair? After damaging my garment, I do not trust your processes and had it sewn and cleaned elsewhere. My dry cleaning slip had “broken zipper” written on it, so that must be in your notes section somewhere? I stand by my decision and still would not recommend this location.

Read the KOMO news article about the bulk by the pound pricing. Called four times to confirm their pricing....and was told the minimum load had changed from 6 pounds mentioned in the article to 8 pounds. Saved all my dry cleaning for 4 months and when I arrived at Helena's I was told the minimum was now 20 pounds. I was at their counter and called the number I had called to confirm pricing etc. and was told I could do a 10 pound load but they would have to make a special receipt for me. The person at the counter asked to speak to that employee. They told them they wouldn't accept my 10 pound load and handed they phone back to me. The employee I was speaking to got her manager involved. They said the owner had left and no one could authorize them to accept a bulk load under 20 lbs. I had called four times and been given wrong information while I was standing in their business and they still turned me away. This is the worst customer service ever.

I have been using Helena's for seven years and have always had impeccable service. My particular building has pick up and delivery through the office, and their online portal is easy to use and clear. I even have listed the amount of starch I like in my shirts (heavy). Not only is the service wonderful, but the location couldn't be more perfect for those who cannot take advantage of their pickup and delivery service. They are located right next to all of the other amenities in Lower Queen Anne that make this neighborhood so great, including Metropolitan Market and Bartell's. I noticed the one star reviews seem to focus on the one experience they had outside of dry cleaning. I would highly recommend ignoring those reviews that seem to be an expression of personal frustration and focus on the service, which for me has always been perfect.

I invest a lot of money in my clothes. It's something I enjoy, so I tend to buy things that are very expensive but I know I will use for years. Because I'm not made of money each item I purchase has great value to me. I trust this company with the clothes I've worked hard to earn. I have zero hesitation with entrusting Helena's with anything I give them. I have never had a bad experience with them and I've used them for years. If I can hand them a 6k coat without flinching that means they have earned my trust and I recommend them to anyone that asks me where I get my clothes cleaned. That is not something that happens without a stellar track record. Thanks for being so reliable. I dont live in seattle anymore, but I drive 1hr into and from the city to give them my business. That's how much I love this place.

Liars I called over the phone explaining I just needed measurements for a online costume designer on etsy, the young man who answered the phone said that shouldn't be a problem and they would be glad to help. When I arrived on my lunch break the old chinese lady wouldn't do it and after watching an awkward conversation between the young men working the front desk he just tried to explain she doesn't want to do this. Had to go to men's warehouse to get these measurements. Since then I have avoided your cleaners and drive out of my way to get my dry cleaning done. Honor is very important to me and it is clear that you do not value that.

Neighbors be aware of Helena’s cleaners poor customer service and the service itself. Do not give them your designer clothes or anything of value. They don’t care about people’s stuff. I gave them one T-shirt and one dress for cleaning. The T-shirt had kind of black velvet all around it as a design. It was all erased. I can no longer wear it. As for the dress, new spots appeared. Spoke to one of the managers: he wasn’t even sorry, you could feel he was on hurry, he didn’t give a damn about my clothes. He kept saying it’s the manufacturer fault not theirs. I wore that T-shirt only twice and now it’s ruined and they are not even sorry.

Sent in 4 vintage fedoras to be cleaned. Dust and light oil stains from years of use. Was told originally that it was $8 a hat. Once they had them I was told it would be $15 a hat to steam clean. Hats came back a couple days later looking exactly the same. Called and complained and they picked them up to try again. Hats came back once again with dust and none of the stains touched. Went and bought a hat sponge and did it myself for $4. They will never see a dime of mine again. Too bad as I collect vintage fedoras.

Fantastic service and my clothes always come back super fresh and never smell like chemicals which is great. I thought this “non-toxic” thing was a gimmick, but it definitely isn’t. If there’s a stain they can’t get out (very rare) they let me know and put a tag on the hanger so I know they tried. I’ve had loose buttons, thread coming of garments before and they always come back fixed without me asking. Been a loyal customer since 2013 and I have yet to be disappointed. Keep up the awesome work.

We have been taking our dry cleaning and laundry to Helena’s for over 14 years, since they were a little shop on top of Queen Anne. The bigger they get, the better they become. The service is always amazing and the clothes always come back looking great! As they grew and offered more technology and services, like delivery/pick-up, and payment on account and text alerts, we’ve continue to be impressed by them.

I have used Helena’s for years, mostly while I lived on Queen Anne. We moved to Leschi and I tried a couple of closer dry cleaners but they weren’t close to Helena’s with regard to the ease of use and of course delivery. THis makes it possible for me to still be a loyal customer. At times I drop off my items when downtown but they always deliver back to me. Oh, and the desk people are so kind and attentive.

Literally everyone that I've ever interacted with at Helena's for the past three years has been so wonderful! To the point that it's a running thing between my partner and I. Like when I meet the driver at our lobby, I'll come back up to our place and my partner will ask, "Were they awesome?". The quality, consistency, and communication is always top-tier! Got an oil stain from Din Tai Fung on my new white trousers.. the worst! Although I didn’t think the stain would be completely removed, they did a great job in making the stain less obvious so at first glance you wouldn’t notice it was even there! They charged $12.50 for the service. Better than wearing it once and throwing it away.

I was dry cleaning my delicate bridesmaid's dress. The dress came out looking very bright and clean I was very pleased. And I like the fact that the receptionist ask me if I was the first customer and gave me a discount without me even asking. Not a lot of businesses will tell you about their coupons or deals without you asking.

I forgot to point out a stain on my blazer when I dropped it off for cleaning, but I guess it wasn't necessary since it was gone when I got it back! Very happy with their service and their delivery option is super convenient!
