  • "They changed the library and made it worse, especially to the public, there are just a small amount of books for the public and the majority of the building is reserved for Middlesex Uni students only and you are barred from entering that area except students, literally nothing in this library is left to the public and is taken over by university"

"Terrible! I used to chill and read at this beautiful library all the time & now the upstairs facilities have been taken over by the university and it’s a lot smaller and limited now"

"Well, it might be confusing at first but to get in barnet libraries during non-staff hours you will need a card, you will have to come during staff hours and create your card"

"Wow Literally can't believe the upstairs study space has been taken over by Middlesex Uni!!! This is a JOKE and not fair to the public! My sister and I used to study here! They have made this library very small and only now have a small room to do quiet study but isn't open long when many people hire it! can't believe this :( :( WHYYYY R U DOING THIS BARNET COUNCIL??? WHYYYYYYY 0 STARS"

"It's quiet a good library but not a patch on what it was before the library was downsized (cost cutting I imagine) and a bit unruly in the "unmanned hours""

They changed the library and made it worse, especially to the public, there are just a small amount of books for the public and the majority of the building is reserved for Middlesex Uni students only and you are barred from entering that area except students, literally nothing in this library is left to the public and is taken over by university. Very disappointing, it seems whatever Barnet Council touches gets destroyed. From making Barnet overcrowded in some areas, and now destroying libraries, and discriminating against the public.

Terrible! I used to chill and read at this beautiful library all the time & now the upstairs facilities have been taken over by the university and it’s a lot smaller and limited now. Isn’t Middlesex university having their own library enough? Must you allow the university to take over the PUBLIC library as well?? I’m no longer using this library anymore because of the ridiculous & unnecessary change which is merely just a shell of what it used to be before. If I could give this 0 stars I would!

Well, it might be confusing at first but to get in barnet libraries during non-staff hours you will need a card, you will have to come during staff hours and create your card. Once you have the card it’s much more easier to get in and do whatever you need to do such as working or reading. Even though the difficulty to understand this system at first of the barnet libraries, the staff I met in the hendon library was very nice!

COMPLETELY RUINED! The self service opening makes it feel like a prison and once you get inside the selection is awful. Used to be better before

Sad state of affairs. This is what Tories do to libraries. Left a skeleton of a library. The building is so beautiful though.

Tiny space and one of the staff (white women, around 50),was rude and racist, feeling sick for the rediculous experience …

  • Legend

Went there during "opening time" and it's closed. Always happens, not even worth 1 star.

Great building, quality staff. Make every effort to use, otherwise it will disappear.
