"What a gem! While Henry’s isn’t much to look at — the small room is lined with exterior-style wood paneling and packed with no-frills seating and tables — the service, the food, and the wine are sublime! I was tempted by the Wild Game menu (featuring emu, elk, kangaroo, and more) but had arrived in the mood for seafood"

Without a doubt my favorite restaurant!! The first time I experienced Henry’s End was sometime in the 1990’s and the intimate atmosphere, warm personal service and exceptionally delicious food left a lasting impression on me.. During the many years that I lived in Brooklyn, I brought countless friends here to share the experience.. It became my go-to restaurant, always serving up wonderful food and offering a perfectly curated selection of fine wine and beer.. Far from over-priced, the value of the food and experience here will almost certainly always surpass the cost of the meal.. In the restaurant business, like most businesses, there’s so much to be said for consistency.. Well, 20 YEARS LATER, on a trip to NYC I recently brought my wife and children to Henry’s End for dinner.. We were greeted with the very same warmth and charm by the same faces that I remembered.. And they even remembered me after not having been there for over a decade!! The bread and butter given to us as we waited was the same as it always was and every bit as delicious as I had remembered.. Everything that we ordered that evening was cooked to absolute perfection and presented beautifully.. I could go on forever about what a treasure this restaurant is and still never do it justice.. If you’re anywhere in the NYC area looking for an amazing meal, please do yourself the favor of visiting Henry’s End, tucked away in the sweetest part of Brooklyn Heights, just over the Brooklyn Bridge from Manhattan.. I promise you will not be disappointed.. And to Mark, the staff, and the family of this fantastic establishment, keep up the good work.. You are truly a blessing!!
Wow!!!! What a gem of a place. On the outside it doesn't look like much. You can't even really tell what restaurant it is. Once you walk in (they do require vaccination proof to dine inside as of August 2021), again it doesn't look like much. There is a small seating area (make a reservation ahead of time), a well stocked bar, but nothing impressive. We had a reservation but made it a bit earlier than we scheduled. They seated us quickly and even accommodated the request of spacing and air flow we had. Our waitress Iska was from Macedonia and was a sweetheart. We enjoyed that she never rushed us and made us feel well served. Now comes the brilliant part of Henry's End..... THE FOOD!!!!!!!! People, do not get fooled by the quaintness or the lack of decor luster of this place. It will blue your mind with the menu. Everything we had was incredible!! We started with their special appetizer of squash blossoms and pesto. Crunch butternut squash outside creamy ricotta and mozzarella inside with the punch of pesto sauce. AMAZING!!!!! For dinner my husband ordered Elk chops. They were tender (like filet mignon tender) and so well cooked the gaminess of such a woodland creature was almost undetectable. I had the veal lemonese. Veal in an herb crust over a lemon cream sauce that was out of this world. Desert was bread pudding with ice cream. Tasted much like my mother's recipe so it was perfect for me. Great experience of dining overall.

I always walk past this place and wanted to try somewhere new so I finally decided to stop in. The waitress there was extremely kind, opened the door for me walking in, grabbed me a menu, suggested a great dish (the stuffed chicken with goat cheese was absolutely delicious), and took my order with the swiftness and with patience. I paid and told her I would wait outside in one of the seats and hang out until my food was ready. The restaurant is pretty quiet, probably only about two full tables inside and two full tables outside. I decide to take the table in the corner while waiting. A group (and by group, I mean 3 people) came up to the owner, Mark Lahm, asking if they can eat here outside and he said of course. Then proceeds to say to me “I need this table can you sit over there.” I said sit where, there? He says “yeah there”. Super patronizing tone, in a fake friendly voice, didn’t lead me to a new table just pretty much flicked me over to somewhere else, treating me as if I’m just sitting there for fun and wasn’t a paying customer. I would never mind switching tables especially when I’m just here waiting for an order, it was the WAY he did it, aka rude, on top of the fact that there was another table wide open for them to sit at. Maybe about 25 seconds later the super sweet waitress comes and and brings me my food and I walk off. All in all, food was great, waitress super nice, it’s a cute little spot for sure. That man though was the perfect disappointing ending to an otherwise nice experience.
What a gem! While Henry’s isn’t much to look at — the small room is lined with exterior-style wood paneling and packed with no-frills seating and tables — the service, the food, and the wine are sublime! I was tempted by the Wild Game menu (featuring emu, elk, kangaroo, and more) but had arrived in the mood for seafood. I started with the bacon and corn chowder, which, while not much to look at, resting un-garnished in a shallow bowl, was absolutely delicious. It was seasoned beautifully and the slight sweetness of the corn and the rich smokiness of the bacon played perfectly together. Next I enjoyed the king salmon and mustard. It was cooked perfectly, a beautiful maillard sear on the exterior and a delicate medium rare in the center. The house blend of mustards added a delightful tang to the fish without masking its own flavor. The service was friendly and attentive, and clearly the staff were all veterans that knew their restaurant in and out. Perhaps the real gem was the wine list, with unexpected depth, including 1966 Haut Brion and other deep cuts from highly prestigious old world houses. I fished my meal with a 1958 Malvasia Madeira that exceeded anything a traditional dessert could have offered. I’ll definitely be back!
I've eaten at Henry's End several times and the food is usually really good. But we just ate there for a Father's Day celebration and had an awful experience. The salmon I ordered was soggy and uncooked. I notified the manager, who took the fish away and brought it back still soggy and uncooked. No one asked if the second attempt at the fish was better. And now I feel ill. I'm guessing the fish was originally frozen and wasn't thawed properly before cooking it. The sides were cooked but the middle wasn't. I didn't say anything about the second round of fish, and decided to eat my husband's fries instead. But then another waiter took the fries away even though they were still basically full. He took my son's fries away too, which he hadn't finished. Who takes fries away from a kid? The negative review isn't for the food prep issues - that happens - but it's for how they handled it. No apology, they didn't fix the issue, they charged me for the inedible food, they took away my kid's food, I left hungry, and I got sick later.

I have been eating at Henry’s End for many years and it’s one of my favorite places in Brooklyn Heights. I come for Brunch, lunch and dinner often - the food is excellent and the staff is friendly and I always enjoy the vibes. I love that at brunch they have a new donut they fresh make every day. For brunch I love the French toast and the Egg Torta, and the fried chicken sandwich is delicious too. I love the unique dinners, different types of game like duck and elk chops and other dishes you don’t see anywhere else. This place is family owned and has been in the neighborhood for years, I see some people are leaving 1 star reviews who have never been here and I am someone who has and I truly have always enjoyed my experiences here and would recommend to anyone else

This is by far me and my wife’s favorite restaurant. We come here weekly for their incredible brunch and spend all the big holidays with them as well. Last night’s Thanksgiving dinner (you had to make a reservation in advance to eat there) pre fixe meal was out of this world. The Turkey and stuffing was fantastic and my mother in law can’t stop raving about the duck w/ raspberry sauce she had! It was an amazing time had by our table of 5 and all guests at their respective tables. For dessert on this night but always when you go order the Mrs Mud Pie. It is life changing. The staff is the nicest and always accommodating! Henry’s End is a great place for a date night, a friends gathering and definitely one to take your parents too. Trust me they’ll be raving about everything they had like my mother in law!

Walking past the signage caught my eye. Few places are true to their word when it comes to wild game on their menu, and fewer still actually offer any. Due to the pandemic we were seated outdoors, which was very pleasant as we weren't on the street as most locales now are. It gave Henry's a bistro-like feel that was really welcomed. The tables, with the black chalk paint and the foam underneath to cushion knees was a nice touch. A simple artesanal bread selection to start with was well received. The clan chowder was flavorful and my spouse thoroughly enjoyed its flavors. We had an incredible experience with their pistachio crusted goat cheese salad that made our eyes roll back from the flavor explosion. The elk, prepared at the chef's suggestion was TO DIE FOR. Perfectly caramelized and tender, the hints of rosemary and no taste of gaminess, whatsoever. The staff is on point with the wine pairings and made the experience all the better. Come and enjoy
I’m not going to put a bad review on the stars. But I will comment on this. I read the owner comment on it’s a busy day employees have a right to make money and send people away. The staff said they were full not that they are only accommodating groups. I have severe anxiety from my time in the army. I tend to go out by myself a lot. I am married and have kids. My alone time is what I like. If this happened to me like her and she heard the host say we have space, I’d cry and self isolate for a long time. I also like to spend a lot of my money. It makes me happy. I tend to spend more alone than with my husband at a restaurant. I get a lot and then I take it home. I’ve been in groups and they don’t always tip. I rather serve someone by themselves than a whole group. Also, think about it. Why would someone be alone on a holiday. Be kind be empathetic. I hope this business takes this lesson and grows from it.
My friends and I went into the restaurant because we heard it might be a good place to eat. We go in and notice there is an empty table, so we proceed to inquire about the wait to be seated. I’m not sure who the gentleman was, but he was very rude and stated there is a thing called reservations. My response was that is not how you greet anyone coming into your restaurant. I immediately realized there were no African-Americans in the restaurant. I responded stating his response was very rude and we are first timers coming to the restaurant. He was not bothered by my response. I proceeded to ask is this a reservation only restaurant. There was a Caucasian acquaintance who was bothered by the gentleman’s response also by the look on his face. This was my first time attempting to eat at this place. I wouldn’t ever go here again. Rude and unprofessional!!!!! Those persons I know I will spread the word to them!
My fiancee and I make a habit of eating at Henry's End for our birthdays. The restaurant sends out gift certificates good for 1 week before and 1 week after your birthday. It is a really nice gesture for repeat customers and since we aren't wealthy people, it allows us to enjoy a finer dining experience. The wait staff is always fantastic and knowledgeable when it comes to dietary needs. My fiancee has celiac disease and the menu is clearly marked to alert your eyes to what is gluten free. That menu is also extensive and the waiters know it fluently. In terms of entrees, I recommend the steak au poivre and the veal scallopine with brussel sprouts and pancetta. My fiancee would recommend the blackened lamb with spinach and garlic. Also, the West Indian BBQ shrimp are to die for as an appetizer. This place is marvelous, so check it out!
Beyond happy and grateful I found this place. The food was exceptional, my drink was splendid! ( If you have the chance to visit get the margarita… still dreaming of it ) I had the burger… SO SO GOOD!! Two regrets on my end… not getting a burger to-go and not asking the owners if they ship food all they way here to California! Being stranded for the holiday in Brooklyn had a silver lining because I stumbled across this wonderful restaurant and staff. They made me feel at home, like I was family. Thank you Many blessings to you all and happy holidays! ( But seriously? Do you ship to California? )

Came here New Year’s Eve for a nice meal and it did not disappoint. Restaurant was very intimate and homely with a perfect atmosphere. Had the set New Years menu which was very expensive but the food quality was brilliant, portions were perfect and we got a free glass of Prosecco too (mock tail was offered for under 21s)! Our waiter was the best we’ve ever had anywhere- so thoughtful, caring, funny and made our evening as perfect as he could. Don’t know his name but he was perfect (great tattoo on his arm). Water glasses were never empty which was awesome and service was just exceptional. If your tall it’s a bit cramped but it’s all so great it doesn’t really matter- a perfect night out.

The server was really nice. First of all. But the thanksgiving dinner was unfortunately not good.and Not warm. It was a super disappointing to be honest. We told the server and he was super nice about it and gave us the wine for free. We would have wished the food would have been better especially since the prices were extremely high. The price and the quality of food just didn’t match. The turkey tasted like it was warmed up. It wasn’t fresh. Tasted like frozen food. The sides were all placed on one plate for the whole table. Was a bit weird. The tiramisu was also interesting. The ladyfingers were dry and chewy. The bread for the table was good though. We hope that they will maybe take another look at it. Thank you anyways ! We wish you all the best.
Such a great hidden gem of a restaurant! One of a few spots that offers most of their menu as small plates or large portions, which allows you to try a bunch of items! We ordered the lobster penne, shrimp with sausage, rabbit tagliatelle, and the NY Strip with apple chutney. The lobster penne and steak with apple chutney were my top two, but everything was really delicious. They also started us with bread and olive oil - I could have eaten an entire loaf of the bread!! Also, my friend booked us for a table outside, but the weather was not the best when we went and they sat us at the bar without a problem. Would definitely go back to try out more items on the menu.

Service was great, food was good, but not good enough to justify the price, in my opinion. I wanted to show my daughter that when you pay more, you get into another dimension of food experience. Well we didn't quite get there. Food was well prepared but I was hoping for something more sophisticated, more "special". You get a meat (or fish) and a sauce, and whatever side you order with it. Food was alright, my cocktail was good, and the server was great. But it came way short of my expectations at this price point, especially when I feel confident that I can cook something better at home. Oh well.

Small but very nice with great service. Very relaxed vibe, not rushed at all theiugh the evening. Some uncommon unique selections to choose from, we had the Elk chops. The crab cakes, unkike the usual offered at other eating establishments, have a light crispness on the outside. After eating and a dessert enjoyed a cocktail. Outdoor seating in the front offers an classy outdoor feeling unlike many outdoor seating areas. Very happy that we chose to eat here.

I do not understand the other positive reviews. The food was bland, dry, and horribly overpriced. I got the duck with mushrooms and there was no flavor and almost no mushrooms. Just a dry piece of duck with a small dollop of sauce. And it was $36. On top of that, the ambiance is awful. From the outside, and based on the prices, it seems like a fairly upscale and cozy neighborhood restaurant. But inside is in disrepair, with the tables literally falling apart and a gaudy neon sign casting an awkward light on the dining area. The service was fine but the management/ownership must be truly terrible to make the place this bad…
Unpretentious, small restaurant that delivers surprisingly good and inventive food. Portions are well sized as well; I left stuffed. Vegetarian and meat options. Food was tasty and "light" which is what I was looking for tonight (I got vegetarian options). Quick but unfussy service. Deducting a star for outdoor seating that could definitely use some sprucing up. Interior features very tightly packed seating so come prepared but it's a nice atmosphere without loud music which makes it a lovely place to have a conversation. Interior seating was completely full at 6:00 pm on a cool, windy Saturday night.
This place has a really cosy, warm vibe to it. It isn't very big and I imagine that getting a table here can be difficult at times. We had a slight wait for a table (15 to 20 mins) but we were seated while we waited and we were well looked after by staff. The waiting period is the only reason for the 4 stars. The food arrived promptly and was very tasty. I would personally recommend the lamb sirloin steak with mashed potatoes! The restaurant has a well stocked bar and I would say it's reasonably priced (relative to NYC). Definitely worth a visit, but perhaps call in advance to book a table.
Went to Henry's for my daughter's birthday dinner, everything was excellent. We were a little early, the owner met us at the door and greeted us personally. We had the buffalo steak with truffel fries, Scottish salmon with arugula, and the steak au poivre, everything delicious. Wine Spectator award as well. We got dinner for three with a very good pinot noir including an appetizer and desserts for $ 150 plus tip, so everything was reasonable too. Best bets are the Wild Game menu and the prix fixe for $30, you can't go wrong. Just call for res, place was full on a Tuesday.
Not once have we ever been disappointed with Henry’s End. They know how to treat their customers well. Food is consistently prepared well and delicious. Had the roast duckling with clementine sauce this time- skin was nice and crispy, meat was perfectly cooked and succulent.

I wanted to like this place more, but the food just didn’t do it. The wild game was good — not nearly as good as reviews said — while some sauces were cloyingly sweet when they were meant to be tart or complex. (Sweet red sauce with duckling was fluorescent and ridiculous.) The vegetables were out of another era — before everyone learned how to cook vegetables — ie kind of bland and soggy. The staff is very friendly and the room is nice, so I’m sorry to say the food didn’t work. Maybe they’re just coasting a bit. It could be vastly improved.
Henrys End has lost site of their customers over the last several years. They recently charged us $45 dollars for chicken wings and fries for my children on Mother's Day. We were trying to support a local business during the pandemic and got price gouged in the process. yet when we complained, they stammered an excuse about the seats having value ... while the restaurant was empty. Wake up Henry's End -- your local customers matter. We'll gladly take our business right down the road to owners who support the community rather than exploit it.
My favorite brunch spot in Brooklyn Heights! The staff is so friendly, kind and make you feel at home. The food and drinks are excellent. I love the burger, egg torta, chicken sandwich, salad, grits….ok I love everything on the menu . Don’t skip out on the fresh doughnut.

The food here is very good, service here is excellent as well... definitely need to make a reservation here don't walk in and expect to be seated right away without one. My gripes, as good as the food was and this is me being picky, the duck was a bit dry in the middle portions. The thicker part was dried out a bit but the thinner pieces was tasty and perfect. The pricing at this restaurant is super expensive and even though I know I'm in the expensive neighborhoods of BK I still thought it was a bit overpriced.
A 10 minute walk from Dumbo’s tourist traps is this absolute gem of a restaurant — world class wine list, rotating selection of regionally sourced chops, and the perfect martini to cap of a long day of walking around the city. If you find yourself in Brooklyn Heights for dinner, this is where you want to be.

I am a self proclaimed foody! I eat out A LOT! so, Henry's End was ok. the Atmosphere was better than the food. I'd recommend Henry's for wine, sitting outside on a nice day. I also look around to see how many other people finish their plates...from observation about 50/50. Everyone finished their wine or cocktail. it is also expensive. Dinner for two was 116.00. my hard, truffle string fries were 9.00. thinking about it no . I would ask for my money back on thos4. The service is slow. Friendly but slow.
I’ve never been to Henry’s End before when visiting Brooklyn, but I very much hope I will again. The atmosphere was wonderful, clearly a restaurant and team loved by local regular visitors. The staff were great and the menu extensive. I had Veal Lemonese, which was superb, and Apple Cobbler, which was like a warm hug of a dish. All my colleagues were equally impressed with their dishes. Highly recommended.

Have been coming to this place for years. Even in New York this is a rare find. The owner is a true restaurateur who has put true love into this restaurant. The food is consistently excellent and perfectly prepared. The wine menu is reasonably prices and always features a wide selection of wines available by the glass. If you are unsure about a wine the servers will give you a free taste on the house. For a top New York restaurant the prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended!
Great spot if you’re hanging around in Dumbo! Quality food that feels like someone’s parent made it for you from scratch at home. Good choice if you’re traveling solo and looking for a bar meal for one (thanks Andrew)! Lots of options on entrees and definitely pair up with a side or starter for a full meal! Cheers!

A Brooklyn Heights institution that’s been in the neighborhood for many, many years (the original location was just down the street). A intimate and dark space. I recommend dining here for dinner for special occasions, as the menu options are rich and somewhat pricey. They also do an annual wild game event where unique meats like elk and bison are served. Been here for my birthday twice and each time I have not been disappointed. The wine list is extensive and the menu is always adding new things. Last night my boyfriend and I got two different steak entrées which were both amazing. He got the Steak Au Pourive and I got the Blackened NY Strip with Apple Chutney. Both were cooked perfect and we went home very full and happy. Great atmosphere and super romantic. We walked around the waterfront before and after dinner.
This is my favorite restaurant in the whole world. In addition to the staff being very kind, the service is always impeccable and everything is beyond delicious. With a thoughtful array of cocktails and a food menu full of classics as well as new refreshing dishes, Henry’s End is the perfect dining experience. I highly encourage any and everyone to visit this cozy small, family business as soon as possible.

This is my favorite restaurant in Brooklyn heights. It’s consistently phenomenal and the staff are truly wonderful. We took my boyfriend’s cousin who is a sommelier and chef, and he was BLOWN away by the food and wine. We had not been able to impress him with a restaurant choice until we took him to Henry’s End. I also love their sister restaurant, Fifty Henry, right down the street.

Ordered thanksgiving meal pick up from here this year. I think the restaurant was overwhelmed by the amount of orders and thus running significantly behind. Some customers didn’t take it so well and poor staff was being yelled at on Thanksgiving Day. Anyway, hostess gave out complimentary wine while we waited which was nice. Once home, food was still warm and very very tasty. They saved me from having to cook on thanksgiving day!
Delicious meal on a Friday night. We got reservations on open table the day before. When we got there, it was crowded, but we were seated within 5 minutes. The service was top notch and food was great. We got the curry pea soup, yak stickers, West Indian shrimp (this was the only dish that was a bit disappointing because the shrimp was overcooked) and the rabbit tagliatelle. Finished it off with a great mud pie dessert!
My boyfriend and I had dinner at Henry's End last week and it was a beautiful, memorable meal. The service was excellent and our waiter went above and beyond to give us a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and served in a timely manner. Despite being there near to closing time, we were not rushed and told to take our time and enjoy our meal. I highly recommend this restaurant and I look forward to returning!
Fabulous little spots in the heart of downtown Brooklyn near the waterfront or the promenade. Close to the high Street train station and a walk away from the Brooklyn bridge and Brooklyn bridge Park! Food was great but the place was a little small and when it started to get crowded a little anxiety said in because of the whole covid thing.

Absolutely do not go here. The host is one of the rudest I’ve ever experienced in dining. If you want service like you’re eating in Atlanta, then this is your place. Brilliant! Wonderfully amazing restaurant we wandered onto. Food was fabulous and the waitstaff was equal to the task. Even when we asked for our entrees to be slowed down so we could relax, and they were delivered 3 minutes later, the owner took care of the situation allowing for us to enjoy a beautiful evening and dinner. Thanks so much to all and we will return for more of the amazing food and ambiance.

Outrageously good food, helpful staff, nice atmosphere, at a moderate price by NY standards. I had grilled shrimp w/ curry sauce and two poached eggs over a bed of grits. Decent spot but a little underwhelming. Started off really well with a terrific focaccia w/ great olive oil. We got a shrimp appetizer which was also really nice. The entrees didn't really deliver, however. The chicken dish was way too sweet and the salmon needed some more seasoning. Staff was really nice and provided good service.

Never knew chicken and pears with walnuts would be SO GOOD. A good portion of food is served and also it’s fairly priced. Waiters we’re polite even as it became extremely busy. Even Mark (the owner) engages with his customers! Their elegance is no question. These are real well deserved reviews and an even well deserved establishment + location for a restaurant by the Brooklyn Bridge.
The food was horrible. We ordered tortilla crusted shrimp and a steak dish. The shrimp wad clearly frozen and premade. It was tough and flavorless and the streak was drowning in some sort of green sauce that was suppose to be garlic butter. No taste and the streak was hard. The manger was nice but the waiter seemed annoyed and wasn't helpful. I won't be going back there again.
Henry's End is our FAVORITE restaurant in the Heights, and our go-to for bringing visitors to NY - they always leave impressed! The food and cocktails are exquisite, and the menu has some of the most unique and high quality meats. Try the veal scallopine with wild morel mushrooms, or the spinach and goat cheese stuffed chicken breast. You won't be disappointed! A must-visit.

This is a first-time for us at this restaurant, the food was amazing along with the service. I really like that they provide bread while we wait for our meal, the waitstaff was also very attentive to our needs. I definitely recommend this restaurant and its a plus that its located not far from the brooklyn bridge and the promenade.
Pretty disappointing. Food was mediocre, over-sauced with poor balance of flavors. Small, dingy, old and not in a good way. Whole thing looked kinda gross and like it needed a good scrub down. Server was good. I had been by this place numerous times and read good reviews but I was quite unimpressed. Many better choices in the area.
Do not dare to come here by yourself. You’ll be mocked and told they’re just too busy to serve you while others get seated. If you call, they’ll snap at you to look online and then only give you the option to make reservations of two or more. I guess single patrons are banned.

Closing for renovations, but not closed for good. I can’t wait for them to open back up. Great list of American wines, and a diverse set of menu options. They offer everything from steak to crab cakes to duckling to elk. You’ll find something to love. Make a reservation, and wait at the wine bar with the same owner 2 blocks away.
I've been coming to Henry's End since the late 1980s. It is one of my favorite restaurants in NYC! This was my first time to the new location. So glad I had a late Brooklyn appointment so I had an excuse to go! As always, food and service were fantastic. I highly recommend the Pistachio Crusted Goat Cheese/ Heirloom Beet Salad.
Absolutely love Henry's End, it's one of those places I keep on my back pocket for impressing visitors. Been here dozens of times. Every meal was exceptional. The food is just perfect, every dish well-executed and delicious. The wine list is so well curated, it's all winners. Prices are surprisingly good for what you get.
We had Sunday brunch there last weekend. We sat outside on the sidewalk. Service was friendly, reasonably quick. I had ordered a burger, to be cooked medium rare, but it came back well done. Ah, well. I ate it anyway because I was hungry. The fries were good. Others had the eggs benedict, pancakes, and they were good.
Probably one of the best Steaks I've had in Brooklyn. It's not much from the outside, and really easy to walk by ... but a coworker suggested we stop here and glad we did. And if you enjoy a good drink, go for the jalapeno margarita. Overall, great place, highly recommended and looking forward to going there again!
It's hit or miss with Henry's End. The service is friendly and accommodating. The wine is fairly expensive and nothing spectacular. Sometimes the food is great and other times it's mediocre. There are sometimes strange food/spice combinations that sometimes work. At these prices it should be great every time.
Wonderful experience! The game dinner was well-prepared and varied. The cocktail menu had lots of tempting offerings. The service was top-notch. I look forward to returning.

One of my favorite places to go! I love the menu regardless of what's on it. The food is unique, intriluiging, and delicious. For me the wild game festival is probably the most interesting time to go and I believe it started recently. The desserts are good as well, I'd recommend "chocolate confusion".
Food has a different flavor profile, yet it's still amazing.

So much fun - we got to sit outside, which was great on a warm summer evening. Food was really good, solid but not great (had the salmon with mustard sauce). Wait staff was nice but service was slow - caveat, we came on July 4, so they were packed. Nice neighborhood spot for a date night.
Very intimate vibe, great for dates or small groups. Great selection of wines and the food is amazing. Portions were perfect. And our waiter was so amazing and thoughtful. My friend was visiting from KS and he had a special desert brought for us. I can’t wait to bring more people here.
Went here on a whim and will certainly be back. Wonderful veal. Truly. The mushroom Marsala sauce was divine. Great traditional Cesar Salad. Bf had the duck with mole special which was also top notch. Definitely a great place for dinner and can go very fancy or very casual. Perfect 5/5
The decor is comfortable, but the service can be occasionally dicey. Interesting array of entrees meats you would never think are available anywhere. Otherwise, not bad but not the sort of place you would want to go to habitually. Pretty pricey for what it is, but I'd go back I think.
Henry's End is one of my favorite restaurants. I enjoy it because of their wild game festival menu. Recently my wife and I celebrated our anniversary there. The block has several other spots I may try soon.

Last dinner of our American tour. Beaf cooks very good and good dessert. The service was very friendly and It wasn't too fast and cold like in others restaurants, populars restaurants but with absent and dismissive service.

5 stars for their Honey & Ginger Duck. They are currently doing a $25 pri fixe menu and it's absolutely worth it. We had the tuna tartar, ribs, veal and desserts which were all pretty good but do not stand out exceptionally from other good NYC restaurants but the duck! yum!
Seriously good food. My husband said their steak was one of the best he's had in a while, and the tuna steak I had was crispy on the outside and soft like marshmallow when you bit in. Best part is the raspberry cider they sell, which I've yet to find anywhere else locally.
Visited during Covid, so obviously limited to takeout. The burger I got was flavorless and the bun was soggy. The host was friendly, and the service was faster than anticipated. Half of the menu items weren't available, but that's understandable all things considered.
Great atmosphere, great dinner, dessert, vanilla and chocolate mousse was outstanding

Party of 8 for a birthday dinner. Food ranges from mediocre to a ‘medium rare’ steak served charred but completely raw. Clearly frozen and not thawed before grilling. No apology, nothing whatsoever comped. Avoid.

Great food. Great service. Don’t usually write reviews but this place is amazing. Heat outdoors awesome. Staff phenomenal. Did I mention the food. Steak and salmon delicious. Gnocchi app so good. Will be back back and recommend. Came from Manhattan. Will do again!
Absolutely try the Wild Game menu if you're open to meat, and there are also some gems to try in the drink menu (1927 PX Sherry).

Wasn't a huge fan, some of our dishes tasted bland. A highlight was the rabbit but not enough to come again. We were seated at the bar and the bartender was very sweet and kind. Got a little bit awkward when the manager was yelling at her in front of us...
Unique dining experience with some unusual choices (kangaroo, ostrich), all expertly prepared. Efficient use of a small, crowded space. Amazing how many different menu choices can come out of such a tiny kitchen. Great wine list. Friendly atmosphere. Go!!!

Henry's End has interesting wines, creative food, smart servers, and a welcoming decor. What's not to like! Forty five years in business with the last thirty under the present owner is proof that something is getting done right. Try it! You'll like it.
Intimate personal experience with characters for waiters. Unique dishes with lots of wild game, from Elk to squab, but lobster and Sole as well! The Ostrich dumplings were great, but the dipping sauce could make a lot of things great! Worth it!
We are new to the area and love exploring local restaurants. Henry’s End has quickly became one of our favorites. The unusual fried chicken, with its blend of spices, and the daily soups are always good choices.

From the outside, it looks like a hole in the wall. Don't let that fool you. The food is delicious and the portion sizes are fair. The many features several Cajun inspired dishes and the inside is reminiscent of the French Quarter.
Basically atone machine set to 1985. Decor is straight out of a 1980s Woody Allen film. Food is hardy and simple, but tasty. Maybe a tad too much butter. Very fun though and oozing with character. Feels like what Brooklyn once was.

Was in the neighborhood and dropped in with no reservation around 730 on a Wednesday night with no issue. Space was a bit cramped, but the food and service was decent. Nice neighborhood place to grab a simple and well made meal.
I was surprised to come across this hole in the wall type of place. They serve very good food and have items you don't find at some restaurants like ostrich or buffalo. they prepare the food very well and decent wine selection.
Perfect service at a Brooklyn heights staple. Usually has great daily specials and then the seasonal staples on their menu. Enjoyed the dumplings, crab cakes, Scottish salmon, and steak Diane at our table with dirty martinis.
A valiant attempt to build a restaurant business in a difficult time. The southern fried chicken Is always hard to resist. Once! It was adequate to satisfy. This restaurant in a different location has been around since 1970s.
Absolutely amazing food served in a cozy setting with great ambiance. The staff was courteous and attentive. I highly recommend the Persian Lime Pie for dessert. Tart, sweet, and creamy custard over a crumbly, buttery crust.
Food was fine, service was not. We waited 30 minutes for a waiter to show up, then it was another hour until our entrees arrived. Meanwhile this extremely loud table next to us was given the red carpet. Very frustrating.
Different dishes and flavors. Small, smoky, dark interior. Nice staff. Expensive for the area. Very tough to park nearby unless you want to pay the one garage a small fortune to park. Not worth the trip from Manhattan.
