I had a terrible experience with this location's manager Ivan. I was told by Ivan (who referred to himself as the manager - not sure if he is or not) that he would void my contract against my will. When I asked him to put that in writing over email he said he did not have the authority to do so. I'm not a lawyer but common sense tells me if you have the authority to state something verbally you should have the authority to put it in writing. On my contract, it said my return time was at 5:00PM local time, but since Ivan's location was closing early that day at 3:00PM, I had to return the car by then, or risk being held liable for any theft or damage to the vehicle if I left it in their back lot after 3PM. My contract, which I believe is legally binding, stated I had till 5PM, and the fact that it didn't align with their location's hours shouldn't have been my problem. After some unpleasant back/forth where Ivan told me I have no other option, I asked if that means he's voiding my contract, upon which the reply was a firm yes, regardless whether I agreed or not. This could've easily been solved with allowing me to return to a different location without extra charges, which of course was the option I suggested to Ivan, but he also declined and said he cannot do that. After hours of back and forth with customer service, I was able to resolve this and returned it to the Airport location without extra charges. To me, someone like Ivan cares more about his own convenience than serving customers. Furthermore, his lack of control with verbal/written statements related to contracts is a serious risk to himself and the Hertz corporation.

Do not, repeat do NOT bother trying to rent a car from this Hertz. I reserved a car over a week ago. They sent me multiple "confirmation" emails with directions and instructions for picking up my vehicle. I called this location today at 4:30 pm to verify their hours, as my reservation is for 11:30 AM tomorrow. They man I spoke with rudely informed me that they had no more vehicles for the weekend. I asked him why, less than 24 hours before I was scheduled to pick up my car, I was just being notified of this? (Mind you I called THEM, not the other way around). The guy flatly told me that it was on his to-do list, and he hadn’t gotten around to doing it yet. Based on the numerous other Yelp reviewers who also complained that they never received a phone call, I think it’s safe to assume that call was never coming. (And even if it had, calling a customer the night before they are scheduled to pick up their car is unacceptable.) This is literally the worst customer service I've ever received. When I asked how it was possible to even reserve a car when there were purportedly no cars available, he brushed it off as an issue with "the website". (I booked this reservation through my employer’s Corporate Travel Desk and Hertz confirmed the reservation.) Not sure what is going on at Hertz, but I will be asking my employer to stop our "Preferred" Corporate Relationship with them. This is beyond bad and I have no idea what I will do now. I'm posting this in the hopes of saving anyone else from having this experience. Do not rent from or support this company. They do not care and don't even try to pretend like they do.

Hertz isn't a bad company by any means, there just have a few bad apples like any big corporation. Here is my first Hertz experience: 1) Made a reservation through AAA who contacted Hertz for mid size car for $28.00 to 2021 Westwood Blvd. West L.A. 2) Walked a mile to that location and was told by the associate "No mid size but for extra money we can put you in another car, or I can call other places ". After two efforts with no success, I was offered the same deal. I replied "Let me make a phone call." 3) Called Hertz corporate customer service and was told "They are supposed to put you in another car at no extra charge". (Like Enterprise) After customer service chatted with the associate, customer service then flipped and now refused to honor the reservation and said "We can call roadside assistance and maybe they can find you a mid-size car." I declined. Then "Thank you for using Hertz." "CLICK!!' 4) I called AAA corporate, and after hearing my first time experence with Hertz, they called the manager (Brian) of the West L.A. location, who agreed that they handled the situation improperly, and would honor the original reservation by offering a mini van for $28.00. By the time AAA called back, I had already hired Uber. - Problem solved. My question to Hertz: Why is not honor the reservation a easy choice for your associate? And why did customer service flip flop? Then "Thank you for using Hertz." "CLICK!!!!" I hope there is something to be learned from this, and it ups your game.

this is the worst place to rent a car from EVER! the staff have no patience for customers. i called to ask if i can extend my rental and they could not find my name in the system even though i just got the car here not even a week ago. the manager hung up the phone on me because she couldn’t find my name and i got upset because i don’t want to be left paying a late fee. she told me to do it online, has she ever thought maybe customers want to talk to a real person!! Jan is the worst manager i’ve met. she is so rude and won’t do anything to help. don’t know who put her in charge because meeting her was the worst. she probably has no staff since she’s so mean. i figured out my car by myself and the body shop who is fixing my personal car will leave the rental back because i cannot go back there after being treated that way. i will never send anyone here

I made a reservation for a car one month in advance. When I came to pick up the car, the manager CLIP JONES told us he has no car for us, that it works ´first come - first serve´. He gave our reserved car to someone else (we came on time to pick up the car!). He offered us only Porsche or minivan for full (much higher) price. He didn´t want to find any solution where to get another car even we had a reservation for his location. I had to call customer service and they told me he was supposed to find me at least another location where we could get a car or offer us different car for the same price. Nothing, he was only smirking and laughing. He only told me to take a taxi and try another location of Hertz. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION.

Got a nice car and the price I was quoted would have been good but upon returning the car was not given the prorated rate that was quoted over the phone. I told them I was not sure how long I was going to have the car and was told the weekly rate would be prorated, but was charged a daily rate that was significantly higher than the prorated weekly rate. I called the number on the invoice and after “investigating” that the rate given was correct. This is unconscionable. I exclusively rent from hertz and have never had this problem before. After thousands of dollars worth of rentals over the several years and having no disputes, not taking accountability for the dishonesty or miscommunication of a specific location is unacceptable.

Had an awful experience with this location before even picking up my vehicle. They called me today at 5:30pm the day before my 9:30am reservation, saying the minivan I booked weeks ago was not available. I have to get 5 people with lots of luggage to Vegas and need that size vehicle. It’s too late to cancel our trip or make other arrangements and they offered me zero alternatives or compensation. They said the area manager would call me back right away but he never did and the location is no longer reachable, either. Rest assured I will be there at or before my reservation time tomorrow and will not leave without the right size vehicle or appropriate compensation.

So rude and not helpful!! Went online thru AAA, BECAUSE THEY DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE!!! Made reservation 1:00 that day because my car died. When arrived no one was there. They left a note with cell number and when I called them I was told 10 minutes. I waited 45. The guy was irritated saying they are over booked and I shouldn't have been given reservations. After all the hostility he wouldnt take my credit/debit card and made me wait another 1/2 hour for manager to arrive. He was just rude and said NO, NOTHING HE COULD DO!! I was then stuck and had to call uber to get home, thank goodness for UBER!!!

The worst of the worst. We rented a car for 3 months and after about 4 weeks it started to ask for maintenance. Ok, it can happen. We called the rental service and they said to come there and that they would have exchanged it. We drove for 1 hour in the noon traffic and once there they said that the car is usable even if it says that maintenance is required and that they had just an economic car available, while we are paying for an intermediate. The end of the story is that we spent 2h and a half around with work permission and we still have the same car that keeps asking for maintenance.

Terrible Experience here! I booked to pick up a Ford Mustang Convertible. Everything booked! On the day, when I got there, they said we dont have one! They even did not say sorry! They said "we dont know when it will arrive". Even they did not care at all to check with other Hertzs! They just said we have some other cars if you like to take! I had no other choices. I selected one! the car was dirty and they even did not try to clean the car. I wish I could give them zero star!

The place is a disaster and only the manager can do something right. It takes us forever to rent a car and we were told and verified that the tank was at 3/8 but when we returned it they said it was 6/8 and we had to drive to a service station to fill it. Even then they said it wasn't quite right and we have to argue with them until the manager arrived, who was the only one who explained things correctly and understood the situation.

It just speaks for why this had gone through Bankruptcy. They make you book on their website and then when you call the pickup location they don’t have any cars available and it is your responsibility now to call customer care or cancel it on your own if possible. Just crazy the people work their definitely don’t like their job for sure. They just don’t care.

Janet and Rafael are fantastic. Originally I booked an SUV for 2 days but as I enjoyed the experience with this team and the car so much, decided to extend for another 6 days. A simple phone call to Janet and a short visit after 2 days to extend the booking was all that’s required. They are honest and really friendly too. Great team work too!

Rafael was absolutely incredible to work with on a Saturday. Fast easy quality customer service. Took care of me and the others there all by himself. It was busy and low staffed but you’d never know with Rafael working. Felt like 3 people working. Quick and efficient worker. He even upgraded an affordable cost! I’ll be back for sure.

After I arrived to pick up a car ( it was a reservation for 7 seater SUV) they said that they don't have any 7 seater or 5 seater available. They won't even help me with canceling the reservation. Worst experience ever with a rental company. It ruined my vacation and don't ruin your vacation for reserving a car at this location.

Horrible customer service. I checked out of my hotel and got a cab to this location. I showed up with a reservation and confirmation number but this location had no cars available for rent. I told the manager that I took a cab here and now I have no car, he told me that it was my problem to find another location to get a rental.

Had rented a van. Needed it for moving. Even prepaid. They called 10 minutes before my reserved time and said they don’t have it LOL. This causes so much damage to me, but they didn’t care. They told me to call Hertz “if I wanted a refund”. Horrible attitude, horrible service, no wonder Hertz went bankrupt.

I returned car … because recently raining and my shoes get some mud and grass .when i return the car the staff said i smoke drug in the car just because some mud and grass in the carpet around braking , also charge me $250 cleaning fee . It’s crazy. Should customers need wear new shoes when we rent?

My experience was very good. They kindly picked me up at the body shop where I left my car and were nice and pleasant. When I dropped off, I left my sunglasses in the rental and was pleased when I went back that they were there waiting for me. The car was fine, nothing special, but did the job.

Got super lucky. Needed car and they tried to call me after reservations made and let me know they were out of cars. Unfortunately they called home number and not my cell. The person there got me a car and it worked out great. Tremendous customer service and very friendly.

I went from enterprise to Hertz and the company lied to me about dropping my cat off at another location and gave me a late fee when I asked to be on a weekly rate. Do not trust these people. They get commission for every penny earned.

Hertz Local Edition. Can be busy at times, if you need a pickup, good luck. Super tight parking lot. The other main issue is the same issue that affects virtually all Hertz Local Editions... The limited weekend hours.

This place is not reliable place. I made a reservation to pick up the car at this area, he told me the car is not here so I have to go to Santa Monica where I literally came from. This place messed up all my plan.
