They will charge your card for an exorbitant amount beyond what your booking reflected. As several other reviewers described, I had the same experience. I was billed 4x the price I had on my reservation. They just charged my credit card. Never said a word about any difference at check in or check out. I had called and asked what it would cost to drop the car a few hours later than reflected on the reservation and they told me 5,000euros!!! No joke....Literally 5,000! So I returned it a few hours EARLY. When I called to complain, they said that if you don't pick up and return EXACTLY as it says on the booking, then it changes everything (and they are free to charge you whatever they want apparently). I have never had such an outrageous experience with any rental company even the cheap ones that get bad reviews, let alone with Hertz which has always until now been excellent and completely reasonable. This Luxembourg Hertz location though, is something else! They will find something to get you on. If you diverge at all from what you book, say you pick up your car at 10:30 am and have it for 3 days, it will automatically set it for 10:30 am return - 3 days exactly... but if your flight is at 7:00am, watch out! They will change everything about your booking! Your day rate, taxes, fees, and so on... So be very careful to put in EXACTLY when you are going to pick up and drop off. Beware... if your flight is delayed and you arrive a couple hours late to pick up your car, right there - they have you! You are going to be charged a different, inflated rate, but they won't tell you at the desk this is happening!!! Total scammers. So bad. And they will talk to you in the most polite way on the customer service call, that it's so completely obvious and right that that's how it is set up. Never in my life have I encountered such absurdity renting cars anywhere in the world from any rental company.

I prepaid by card when i made the reservation and when I went to pick up the car everything went fine, also when returning it, everything cool. Never said anything to me about any charges or misunderstanding. A day after i received the invoice with a charge of about half of the price. After sending tons of emails asking for an explanation all they said was that they discovered that the price was different and I didn’t pay the whole price! This was ridiculous and a total scam and as I see now they do it with all their clients and can’t explain how they still work unbothered. I paid by card in the moment of reservation online in they website where is impossible to pay half of the price. And also have proof of reservation with the total price and payment. After I said that they never answered! I want to report this company, please somebody tell me where
Incident happened on 6th of September 21:24 at Hertz Luxembourg Airport. There was only one person at this time in the front desk. I approached the person and i told her that i would like to rent a car (I didn't have reservation). I asked directly if they have availability and I was told the following: "Yes we have cars but I am going to close soon so you should come tomorrow". The time was 21:24 and i assume that the branch was going to close in 6mins. I can also understand that a person wants to leave from work at the correct time. Then she shouldn't be sitting there. I take that when there is a person at the desk, is there to serve customers. And after all how long would take to rent a car. More than 10mins? I have never experienced that customer service in my life before from such a big company. Really disappointed.
Charged me extra EUR 83 compared to Expedia guaranteed price. Keep rejecting the fault on Expedia back and forth and complaining about them, then why do you make business with them? Not my problem! Got to hold your deal guys! At the end of the day, refused to give me the Expedia guaranteed price (with fuzzy explanations), not much compassion and condescending behavior (''here in Europe, we do like this and this''). Also, customer service escalation fakely apologized but did not do more for me as a frustrated customer... Well, here in Canada we have solid consumer rights - already my CC provider is correcting the situation on your behalf! And never ever will I think about HERTZ as an option!

Avis mitigé sur la location effectuée le week end dernier, véhicule en état visuel très moyen, nombreuses rayures, quelques taches sur les sièges. Le prix annoncé ne comprennais pas les assurances (franchise à 12 500€) l'assurance quasi obligatoire pour decendre la franche à (3000€) a doublé le prix de la location. La passant de 60€ pour 2 jours à 120€ pour 2 jours. Faire très attention au moment de la réservation à bien avoir l'assurance CWD et vol notament lorsque vous passez pas un site tier. Véhicule disponible au moment de la location, Personnel à l'accueil souriant, Pas de problème lors de la restitution.
No one recives the car there.I had to return the car in the evening but because of that I returned the car in the morning (I circuled around the airport more than 30 min. and haven't found where to return it). I called HERTZ service and they said that they cannot help me. Finnaly when I returned the car nobody gave me a signed document that verifys that everything is o.k. The next day they emailed me thst the keys are lost (they found them later) Stay away from this perticullar HERTZ dealer.
Rückerstattung dauert extrem lange. Bei einigen mehr als 5 Monate (siehe andere Kommentare)! Jetzt bin ich in derselben Situation. Die belasten die Karte mit einem sehr hohen Betrag. Scheinbar ist es bei Herz normal so. Personal sehr unfreundlich. Als ich ankam würde ich gefragt "was willst du" kein hallo, nichts. Was möchte wohl jemand der bei einer Autovermietung? Man kann davon ausgehen: ein Auto mieten! Lächerlich.
I rented the smallest possible car for 1 day trip with my girlfriend. When we arrived the women from the stuff was extremely pleasant, she gave us a better car at the same price. We had no issues with the car. Return was easy and straightforward even after working hours. Off topic: Luxembourg is lovely for a day trip. There are many charming small villages, castles and the roads are amazing.
ATTENTION VOLEURS ! !!! Je vais aller porter plainte ! !!! je ne pense pas que la Direction de Hertz connaissent les agissements de cette agence qui arnaque les clients ! Ils veulent nous faire payer des suppléments pour récupérer les clés après 17:00 alors que notre avion atterri après ! !!! Service assuré gratuitement partout SAUF chez HERTZ LUXEMBOURG ! !!!!
Hemos alquilado por Booking un coche por 242 y después nos han pasado la factura de "tasas", que no deja muy claro que tasas son esas, y en el momento del alquiler no te dicen cuánto va a ser a mayores de tasas hasta que dejas el coche, por un valor de 182, al final acabas pagando casi el doble del alquiler inicial, me parece bastante abusivo
AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! My credit card was charged double for the rental and the hertz’s customer service doesn’t bother helping to sort this out and provide me with the refund. It’s been already 5 months and the case is now reported as a fraudulent. I wouldn’t ever share my credit card details with ten again!!!!
Reserved an EV, got it, but it had low tire pressure and needed maintenance. Then exchanged for a hybrid, but the maintenance light came on 3h outside of Lux. And when I arrived at my ski destination, I realized that the SUV didn’t even have snow tires. It’s so sketchy, what are they thinking!?! …
An unfortunate experience to say the least,many hidden fees and extra charges!In every communication the price was always given with the exclusion of the VAT, at the end the car was double the price. Never had an experience like that with other car companies. Fist and last time we choose that company!
Never thought I would write a positive review for a car rental agency. Our flight was delayed and we were arriving beyond the closing hour of the rental office. However, they arranged for us to pick up the key elsewhere and we managed to get the car. Thank you so much for this exceptional service!
Worst customer service ever! Impolite, unprofessional and rude. They cancel your reservation (charging the no-show fee) if the flight is delayed, then they try to charge you almost the double of the price to re-book the car. I'll never be back again!

500 euros of extra charges out of nowhere! No English from the person I gave the keys back to. I thought HERTZ was a company I could rely on but I feel scammed.
