NOTE UPDATE! Unfortunately, the city does not have the $$ right now to pave the road into the south new park, so expect a lot of gravel dust on your car, but most importantly anyone near the parking area will be breathing in a lot of horrible dust from each car that drives down the road. The playground is nice, but your kids will ingest the dust which I'm sure is a health concern. I can't believe the city paved the small parking area near the exit, but ran out of $$ to pave the most important area first!! The city will pave it eventually when they get the $$, but who knows when that will be, so for now it's not the best place. The north park is free of gravel dust, so I suggest you go there with your kids. Sometimes, city planners just don't have common sense! Otherwise it's a great park with a trail leading to the Botanical Garden trail & to have a picnic at the north end, for now.
I recently visited Hidden Valley Park in Canada and it was an amazing experience! The park is located in a beautiful and serene valley surrounded by lush greenery and tall trees. The park features a large lake where you can go fishing, boating, or simply enjoy the scenic views. The park also has several hiking trails that offer stunning views of the valley and the surrounding mountains. The trails are well-maintained and marked, making it easy to navigate. There are several picnic areas and benches throughout the park, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. The park is also home to a variety of wildlife, including deer, moose, and birds. Overall, Hidden Valley Park is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.
I went here with my friends to hike. When we arrived, it didn't look like there was much of a trail to walk along, but we managed to find it after poking around for a few minutes. It certainly did not disappoint; the trail runs alongside a creek, at one point reaching a small lake with a trail that loops around it. Lots of beautiful views throughout. The terrain is fairly flat throughout most of the trail, we hit a few steep ascents, but nothing too challenging. Overall, we spent about three hours here walking at a leisurely pace and taking in the scenery.
This is one of my favorite places to go to get some relief from the urban environment. Good walking trails, a babbling brook, interesting terrain, and peace and quiet. Also picnic tables, play structures for kids, and a covered shelter. Serviceable washrooms. If I remember correctly, there might also be a wading pool on the other side of the road (I don't venture over there as often, it's less interesting to me, it's mostly a big open area for picnics. To me, the quiet walking trails are the real treasure here.
They've really improved the park for families and picnics with permanent picnic tables, concrete walkway's and shelters. The splash pad on the upper level is great for kids and families on a hot summer day!
Playground
Enclosed area in the lower level. Both built with pine or cedar chip floor. New equipment.
Restrooms
Adequate indoor restrooms available
Picnic area
A couple of covered pergola areas. Receptacles for hot coals after your BBQing. Several garbage cans around.
This was a pleasant find to celebrate a 92nd birthday outside an allow to play in the splash pad and playground. Park is well maintained and clean. Handicap parking is easy accessible to paved sidewalks and picnic areas. Another upside...no mosquitoes on the day we went. That was w huge plus for all family members.
Playground
Playground almost looks new. Well maintained.
Picnic area
Ample picnic areas within this park and close to trees to provide some shade
A fun park with two playgrounds on both sides of Lemonville Rd. There’s also a splash pad, a gazebo with picnic tables and lots of shade. If you’re coming from Howard Rd and want to access the Hidden Valley Trail, park for free by the playground on the left side of the road. If you want long enough on this trail, you’ll come across the North and South Bridle Loop trails, and the Grindstone Marshes Trail which starts at Cherry Hill Gate.
Very nice hidden gem went for a small family picnic at the splash pad. Lots of apace for kids to play with clean and convenient facilites near by. Parking is not far from the activities. This was the first time at the park. Didnt get any pictures but next time we go we will try out the trail. From what i have read its a syiller friendly trail for the most part so once i walk the trail, will gladly update this review with my findings
This place is absolutely beautiful. You can see the RBG for free! So many lovely paths to walk. Nature at its finest. As well as picnic areas to BBQ and eat. So amazing that this exists inside a city! You have to experience it at least once but I bet once you've seen it, it will be a new favorite.
Restrooms
Very clean, well lit.
Picnic area
Awesome picnic areas to BBQ and enjoy the day.
I have been coming to this park since my children were very young, for nature walks, fishing, and picnics. Outside of a couple new play areas for kids, I am happy to see barely anything has changed, though the recent discovery of crawdads in the creek has given my son ideas for cooking jambalaya and gumbo with freshly caught ingredients! Wonderful park as always!!
Wonderful park, a hidden gem. Lots of different paths to take. Very little is suitable for a wheelchair. Lots of uphill, down hill. One trail leads up escarpment for a view of the city and lake. Marshy area, wooden walkway. Look close to see turtles, frogs, and black snakes sunning themselves in the rushes. Killdeer , pileater woodpeckers, some warblers, trillium.
Beautiful gem to find! Truly. The trail is nice and pretty straightforward and then you come across different trails made of wooden bridges. So cool! Lots of chickadees and squirrels and they're pretty friendly. We started at hidden valley and it goes right into Hendrie Park. We did over 10,000 steps so wear good hiking shoes!
It's a hidden gem in the city of Burlington. This park has got lots of free parking with multiple picnic areas for the families, neat and clean washrooms, a small activity area for the kids and a good walking trail. The small stream is a lovely treat, with great photo opportunities. A must visit place, totally recommended !
We had a goodbye picnic here a couple of weekends ago and it rained just as it was to start. Fortunately we are a determined group and he set up under the pavilion near the kids splash pad and had a marvelous time. Pretty location, watching the clouds scud across the sky. Lots of parking. Amazing piece of green space!
Hidden Valley Park is a wonderful place to have a group picnic and enjoy nature and the outdoors. It is well maintained, features natural Outdoor Experience, and I have enjoyed it with the group I belong to for the last 8 years. Picnic tables, washrooms and garbage disposal are provided. Each site is well maintained.
Peaceful. Lots of parking. Access is great to the trails. Lovely playground and picnic area.
Playground
Swings for all levels of mobility. Climber surrounded by wood chips.
Restrooms
Clean. Well stocked.
Picnic area
Many tables with a pavilion. Different locations spread throughout the park.
I've been going to this place for a couple of years now great park for the whole family to enjoy bike riding playground , they have picnic tables you're allowed to grill , pet friendly also there's a creek running around it with fish in it. Shelter from the elements there is roofed pavilions in the grounds .
Clean, nicely manicured, didn't use the bathroom facilities, but went for a hike on the trail towards the rbg. Very nice, lots of shade, big trees, follows a small river. A couple places to rest along the way. We didn't go far, it started raining. But enjoyed the visit a lot. Will go back!
Wonderful park with both shady and open areas as well as children's play equipment and covered pavilions. The pavilions can be rented / reserved for a day making it perfect for family reunions and larger casual gatherings. A ball diamond and natural wonders - perfect for all ages!
This park is very nice for kids and adults of all ages. This stream generates several salmon during the early spring that are awesome to watch. Highly recommend coming here. Especially during the summer as there is really nice trails that lead to the Royal Botanical Gardens.
it's a nice small park with lots of benches. It has a nice playground and splashpad for the kids. only problem i had was that there was only one shed, the place could definitely do with two at least! parking space was decent and the accessible parking was great
It was truly hidden! Lovely park. It has lots of space for big groups and small ones too without feeling cramped. Quite a lot of activities for kids as well. You can barbecue or just relax on the shade. Enjoyed every bit of it. Also, it's kept clean and nice.
During this tuff time finding places to take your children and feel safe can be hard, this place has convenient washrooms that are clean by city staff, a splash pad and park lots of space to have picnics. My son loved taking his bike to practice riding it.
This has been one of the most famous famous yearly adventures with 50 plus people. We've been picnicking there since I can remember, and I'm 37. This place truly is magical. I wish that the wave pool was still there but it's incredibly peaceful
Clean, friendly atmosphere, and technically speaking the water park and playground were both functional and in good condition. We had a very pleasant time and will definitely come back again soon. No issues at all. Two big thumbs up! …
Really appreciated the Grindstone Creek. We didn't get to see any salmon but it was a nice little walk and easy for people to get around that needed a walker.
Picnic area
Lots of open space to choose from and garbages available as well.
What a beautiful spot. Beautiful trails. A beautiful park and a great model train club. It's one of those places you have to look for and will likely never chance upon, despite being in the city. Worth the diversion! Bring your walking shoes.
The best place for picnic, BBQ, party, trail walking, and kids playground with swings and slides. Free public parking and washroom is available. Nice, quiet, and clean surroundings. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to avoid shore rush.
Lovely park. My favourite in Burlington, and possibly the world. Very large grass field; baseball diamond; rivers; trails - good for biking, kicking, and leisure walks; lots of thick, lush forest; and two large, isolated park areas (one in
A hidden gem near Aldershot. Google maps won’t take you to the picnic spot. You have to watch out to the sign board that says Hidden Valley park 1137,Hidden Valley Road. From lemonville road you have to turn to Picnic Areas 4-6. There is a
A good place for picnic, they have picnic tables, clean & hygienic wash rooms. Hot ash pits for post bbq ash. Kid friendly environment, with 1 splash pad and playarea on either side. It has access to Royal Botanical Garden through the park.
Pretty nice park, well maintained park. Has splash pads, 2 parks, a pretty nice trail as well and many picnic spots. The outside area of the park is very industrial however, so if you are looking for a waterfront park this might not be it.
Beautiful walking trail. The trail follows along grindstone creek and flows into the rbg and cherry hill park. Its a nice area to walk the dogs. There is a play area for kids and a covered area for picnics and bbqs. The trail is wide and
The parking lot near the trail was closed and so we had to park our car near the children's park on the opposite side. Couldn't figure out how to get to the trail with our stroller, later when we got on to the road to head home saw the
This is one of my favourite trails beauty wise. It's not challenging, so great for low-key hike, but the scenery and wildlife are some of the best I've seen compared to other nearby places. It's also really well marked so you can't get
Love it here, so peaceful when not busy with people.
Playground
Great updated play ground for children & water play area too!!
Restrooms
Roomy & clean
Picnic area
Lots of pretty areas to sit down for a picnic.
Love this spot! So much fun a year round. The trail connects to the RBG as well, not far from the main parking lot. Little outdoor skating rink for some winter fun is also really nice. Wish we had more outdoor rinks in Burlington
Church picnic on Labour Day, park completely redone! it is beautiful, new childrens play area with new apparatus, fenced in for security. New galvanized picnic tables and concreted under foot. New pavilon. Very nice!
Great place for family gatherings and any other function. Great trails for walking, splash pad for kids, huge picnic areas, a couple pavilions and lots of open space. First come serve so no need to call to book.
Quiet little area with splash pad, playground, and access to a well maintained trail through the woods, along the creek, that will take you right into the RBG Cherry Hill area if you're so inclined to go so far.
It's a great place to have a picnic party. Picnic areas can be booked in advance. There is play area and splash pads for kids. Loads of green place. We hosted a birthday party and everyone enjoyed the event.
The park was clean, small, but very quiet and nice place to go for a little picnic. There are no signs that say you can or cannot BBQ however the Burlington City website says charcoal barbecues are allowed.
First time exploring the park. Nice playground and fields. Connects to a great trail Network along the river Outdoor railway setup looks neat! Kids would love playing in the river. Lots of places to explore
One of the pleasant family park that would suit us for relaxed lunch or bbq with kids play area. Lots of dining tables and chairs, surrounded by lovely nature Have restrooms and lots of free parking space
Such a beautiful park in a ...hidden....valley! Great park, lots of parking and kids playground. Clean nice washrooms. The 20 kmh signs on road through middle of park are not being followed which is
Nice quiet place with a playground meant mostly for younger children. Could use more picnic tables as the seats per parking spot is low. Some tables offer wheelchair seating which is considerate.
My family has been going to this park for decades. I grew up coming here and I now bring my children often. It is quiet and has a creek and a walking path beside it. Love this place!
Easy but interesting trail just under 6km in total. Parking with restrooms at the entrance. Creekside walk, birds, lookout points over marshes and lotus ponds. Dogs will love it too!
Beautiful place, it has a nice little park with swings, a splash pad, party areas of you plan to have one and ample free parking space. Not to forget it has a beautiful trail too
Awesome hidden little nook, absolutely fantastic for families looking to BBQ and have family time. First time coming here and will definitely be back sooner rather than later!
After recent upgrades, everything is so much better, concrete walkways, better parking, and picnic tables, but still has potholes in the exit laneway for the past 40 years !
As advertised, it's a bit hidden.... With a one way entrance and exit that you might miss if you aren't paying close attention to signage. Lovely park, river, and pavilion.
One of the best parks that I have seen in terms of quietness and cleanliness. We really enjoyed our time there. You can also bring your own BBQ grill to the park as well.
Nice park. I go there for the trail that runs there after you cross over the stream. Very sheltered with trees so you can be comfortable in a hot stay. Very clean
Beautiful area! Thanksgiving walk to watch the salmon run - water level is low so didn't see as many fish.
Dog-friendliness
Great trails to walk your pet!
Great park for kids of all ages. Has 2 separate climbers a toddler friendly one and another for older kids. A set of swings and lots of open space for picnics
Nice, new (as of 2020) park with a splash pad, picnic tables, playground, washrooms and parking lot. Very spacious and close to a creek and walking trails.

It is an absolutely beautiful place for a walk. Great place to take your dogs. Go up the hill to see such beautiful views. Great trails here also
Nice park for kids and picnic with lots of parking and clean public bathrooms - only negative is that there are limited amount of picnic tables
Clean, beautiful trees, cement basins for hot ashes. There's a creek nearby, and hiking trails. Beautiful place to spend an afternoon.
Great park for kids. The sitting areas are clean, usually available and in good condition. The water fountain is a favorite for kids

Unbelievable place. Enjoyed the ups and downs around the river and the good wild grapes as a snack.
