I lost $600 for canceling a booking due to the bush fire near the premises. And they promised one night stay for free when I rebook this year but they eat their words. They prefer 3 nights stay customers only. would not recommend these people. On your website a 2 bedroom mountain view cottage for 2 adults and 2 children is only $629.5 for a 2 night stay. You quote me a 1 bedroom village view cottage for 2 adults near $600. Don’t say that you didn’t charge the 2 children (not to mention the one night stay for free which was a joke I understand). Customers are not fools. And I also noticed you changed your website information after I made the call. Please note that I canceled the booking due to bush fire near YOUR premises. The cancellation happened due to problem at your end, not mine. The cancellation was a few days late because it was on that day I realised the bush fire was actually very close to your cottage. I called some Bilpin businesses on that day and found they were evacuating at that moment. I know you wouldn’t care about this and keep taking bookings. I paid full amount when I made the booking. If I hadn’t tried to negotiate you would have swallowed all the payment for doing nothing for us. It would be reasonable that you took $200 or $300 for the administration fee and the time you spent on this issue. I just can’t understand why you want as much as $600. I appreciate your policy that gives me a lesson. I’m happy to pay for the lesson now. You win the money but lost your reputation for being greedy and dishonest. I wish you good luck for future business.

My daughter had to do a hike & camp at Somerset camp hence, I decided to have a weekend away spending quality time with my son while my daughter went to her camp. Somerset camp is only a 30 minute drive from Highfields cottages. I chose Highfields because of its location - close to Somerset camp & it is also close to shops and local sights; and it also had farm animals and fruit trees around the cottage grounds, which was interesting for us city folk. Sandra from Highfields is one of the kindest souls I have met. She stocked the fridge with fresh eggs from her hens, fresh milk, bacon, English muffins etc. it saved me the trouble of bringing food to the cottage to prepare for my daughters hike and camp. She also waited for our late evening arrival at the cottage to make sure we arrived safely. I've read reviews saying Sandra is an angel, and I can vouch for that. Sandra does what she does from her heart and I felt her genuineness when getting acquainted with her. The place itself is magical. I saw the autumn change of colors, the rolling hills teamed with the magical hour at dawn and dusk; and with Sandra, the energy was love light & positivity I am grateful for the experience and I will pass this energy forward. MAJESTIC Breathtaking, stunning views of Kurrajong Heights and beyond. We wanted a country escape experience and Highfields did not disappoint, with the baa baa from the sheep's, the chirps from the birds, the freshly laid eggs from the chicken's, the cackling laugh from the kookaburra's to a visit from a kangaroo and of course our good morning wake up call from the crowing roster, this certainly was country. The carefully thought out self contained cottages blend perfectly with the surrounds, impeccably cleaned with all we needed at our disposal, with the added bonus of a slight cooling breeze that whispered through our cottage. Many a glass of wine enjoyed on the verandah which extends the length of the cottage was decked out with furniture for us to Sit "N" Chat and all of that. Highfields is Highclass in all it offers from the warm welcoming hosts Sandra and Elias who have extensive knowledge of the surrounding areas including restaurants, activities such as fruit picking etc., to the personal touches. "Memories are made of this" from the early morning mist over the mountains to the star covered sky at night. Highfields is the perfect setting for all things celebratory. MESMERISED

On the weekend of the 50 year floods we met an angel, Sandra from Highfields Country Cottages. We had been driving all day trying to get home from our Son’s wedding in Hartley Vale. Trapped by flood waters, bridges underwater, no accommodation available it was looking rather grim. Our daughter found Highfields Country Cottages, spoke to Sandra and by the time we made it back to Kurrajong Sandra had stocked the cottage with milk, bread, fruit and eggs. The cottage was a fairytale come true with comfortable beds, a well equipped kitchen, hot showers and a spectacular view of the valley from the back veranda that ran the length of the cottage. We had been looking at spending the night sitting in our car as it was packed to the brim with wedding paraphernalia. Together with the 5 STAR service and accommodation we received, (even after we had left) we will be eternally grateful and sometime in the future would love to return and appreciate the beautiful area under much better conditions.

From beginning to end, we loved our stay, it was like staying with family…Words cannot explain how much we loved our stay at Highfields Country Cottages. Our hosts Sandra & Olias were beyond amazing to us, we will never forget their hospitality as Sandra went far and beyond to make us feel at home in her beautiful cottage. You wake up everyday with the view of beautiful mountains and fresh air, birds, it’s so peaceful and beautiful. It will definitely be our family go to place when we go to Sydney for holidays. Sandra was an amazing host, both friendly and just so welcoming. After my family and I found ourselves stranded in the area during an extreme weather event (causing flooding and landslides) we called Sandra and were lucky enough to find a place to stay in one of her lovely cottages. Sandra not only took us in with only 10 minutes notice but she and her family helped us immensely by providing fresh eggs, home grown tomatoes and fruit to keep us going. The cottage itself was lovely to stay in with warm comfortable beds, a well stocked kitchen (with gas stove) and incredible views from the balcony. It was exactly what we needed after our tiring and stressful adventure and just the rest we needed to get back home to Sydney safely the next day. We will definitely be coming back for a proper planned stay when the weather is not so unkind. Thank you Sandra for everything!

My partner & I recently booked a long weekend away at the Highfields Country Cottages. We stayed in the Hills View Cottage facing the mountains & we were immediately blown away with the serenity of the location. The cottage was very clean, had all the cosy comforts of home with surprise goodies such as milk, tea, coffee, honey, eggs, crumpets...the list goes on! It's like we never left home. The views were spectacular from the balcony. In addition to Sandra's hospitality, she went above & beyond throughout the week preparing some beautiful flowers & champagne on arrival, as it was part of my planning for a special weekend. The weekend was perfect and we would definitely recommend visiting Sandra's cottages.

This will be our second review for this place. My partner and I love this place. Sandra and Elias are amazing people and show such love and care for there guests (last time we were there, they made us homemade herb bread treats for our drive back.... so delicious!). These guys are such great special people. We just booked a stay for February! It’s a lovely tranquil place, I love visiting the animals and feeding them. Short drive to Bilpin to go apple picking and surrounded by majestic views. Looking forward to visiting this place next month. Rain or shine it’s the perfect peaceful place to be if you want a weekend getaway. Love the mountain view cottage.

I had the pleasure of visiting Highfields for a vacation recently with my husband. What a beautiful property! Well appointed accommodation which was maintained to an exceptional level and extremely clean. Beautiful scenery and outlook of the Blue Mountains. The owner is a lovely lady who really did everything to ensure that our stay was enjoyable. Highly recommend this place for couples, families and workers visiting the local area. Can’t wait to visit again!

I was looking for a quiet, relaxing weekend to get away from the world and recharge and that is exactly what I got. My goodness where to start! My little boy and I had the best three days staying here. Sandra and her husband were so lovely and ensured that we had a wonderful stay! Due to flooding we needed to stay somewhere overnight with only 20min notice of arriving. Sandra was incredibly accomodating having the room ready with snacks making us feel very comfortable in such an uncertain situation. The room was very clean and tidy and loved the view of the sheep running around. Very close to shops to get supplies but also feels very peaceful and a great place to escape to! My family would like to say a big thankyou for our wonderful stay in highfields cottages last weekend. The view was beautiful and accommodation comfortable and inviting. My toddler daughter especially loved feeding the animals and is still waking up in the morning saying baa baa and sheep. Mandarins and lemons picked from the tree very yummy. Thoroughly recommend this place for young families wanting a getaway from city life.

This was the 2nd time I have stayed there and it is a beautiful place for a getaway. The views are breathtaking and the cottages are situated close to national parks, fruit picking and other relaxing drives and places to visit.
