No stars, but to post a review I have to click... This place is so bad. Blamed me for every single one of their inadequacies - ranging from being able to make an appointment with a doctor that no longer works there, to the fact they don't have access to the My Health Records. I began panicking and had to call my husband within a minute or so of sitting down to the appointment, as I could already see and hear the doctor had no intention of listening to me, and working through the problem. The doctor refused to communicate with my husband or even accept the fact that I am very much allowed to have a support person with me - in person or by phone. My husband stayed on the phone, and drove to the clinic to provide present support to me. The doctor was supported by management - they told me to leave. I refused, and they said they would call the Police. I invited them to, knowing full I had done nothing other than panic and demand help. The last thing the doctor said was 'You're going to be in big trouble now'. Seriously... what an utter gross human. (Oh! At one stage I referred to him as 'the man or that man' and he and the manager went off at me about how disrespectful I was. 'He is a doctor'. 'You call me doctor!') The Police arrived and were great - one actually empathised. Not long after my husband arrived, and I went over what happened to the police, with an actual SANE witness to support me. The Police were genuinely kind, and offered to accompany me to the chemist to get an emergency repeats of my meds. I'm shocked and disgusted beyond belief. HFMC are a disaster. Anywhere else but here. EDIT - To say in your reply I was threatening is simply not true. I was panicked and agitated, but at no time did I use abusive language, at no time did I threaten you, either verbally or physically. My frustration stemmed from the fact that That Man (the so-called Doctor) would not let me get a word in edge-wise, and was actually the one who stood over me in a harassing manner and raised his voice. Similarly, when the manager entered the room, she too had to be asked to back out of my personal space when she was speaking to me. If my behaviour was so threatening as to make you fearful enough to call the police, then why did you leave me to sit mostly alone in the doctors office? Surely someone as out of control as you allege I was could not be trusted to sit unsupervised in a doctors office? And as you know, my husband was aural witness to this exchange, so I suggest you back up your claim of threatening behaviour with evidence, or edit your response to me. Blaming me yet again for your outright failures in handling this situation is not doing you any favours. That Man had me panicked within one minute of entering the room, and he escalated the situation when I reached out to someone safe to ease my confusion. One thing you do have right is that I did not leave the premises - the state you put me in, even if I'd wanted to leave (which I didn't - I wanted someone to come and speak sensibly to you and work out what could be done to HELP me) I couldn't have left if I'd wanted to. You'd freaked out my brain so much, I had sit until someone came to get me. The Doctor and Manager are in almost every way responsible for this terrible review and the official complaint that is in process. This is yet another example of people in respected and powerful professions playing the victim when called out on their atrocious behaviour. It is not a threat when a patient refuses to be bullied, and demands help, and is unable to leave after you cause them such upset. And I never refused to supply documentation. i simply have no access to it. I told you this. You really need to be quiet - this just looks worse for you. #ByeFelicia

If you are booking at Hillscene definitely don’t use Dr. Hasantha. He is the least empathetic doctor I’ve seen in my life. I’m currently taking prescribed injections to develop immunity to pollen. I’ve been regularly going to their clinic to get them and need them once a week and can only do weekends as I work in the city. Me and my whole family have been using them for years but lately due to doctors like these and staff changes their service has gone real downhill. One of their doctor has already been giving me these injections and I cannot miss my weekly dose and paying a lot of money for it. Yesterday Dr. Hasantha refused to give the injection saying there is a letter missing even though they were the ones who recommended the GP and I’m booked for continuous weekly appointments. It was such a big shock to me and when I asked for the reason why I was being able to get them before he said well this is my decision now. He has been very unfriendly to us so. When I asked to speak to their centre manager I was informed by receptionist that I cannot talk to her as Valencia is on holidays and I’ll just have to deal with it myself so I had to spend an extra hour and drive to Berwick and that clinic gave me the injection without any hesitation based on the paperwork I had from my specialist and nothing had changed.

Absolutely the worst management of a simple vaccination. Got the first vac and was asked to book in the second. Explained that I was working in West Footscray so needed a late appointment. 545pm was nominated. Got called @330pm) to say that the nurse who gives the vac was leaving ealry and could I reschedule , told them no and would get there at or before 530 by leaving my work earlier. This was accepted. Got rung by the desk clerk, as I was pulling in front of their clinic at (515), to say the nurse had to leave. Went inside and asked for the duty manager, who clearly lied about the situation, or is ignorant of medical procedures. There was a Gp there and she said he wasnt qualified to give injections and that the other Gp had an emergency and had to leave (nothing about the nurse)!!! Seriously? What a joke. Will never go back nor will I recommend. For the record booked in just around the corner for Saturday at 10 am.

I give not one star here. The two Doctors at Hillscene, Dr Hasantha & Dr Soni Vivesh have an approach that I found both dismissive & inadequate. They both have not followed up on scans and tests that I have had done. They are impersonal and lack empathy. I am taking myself elsewhere asap and I hope the transfer of my files to a new clinic runs smoothly. I was told to come in for a Covid vac, when I got there I was told to come back in a month. Also I found out by chance that I have a non obstructing Kidney stone.I should have been told this by the Dr's. I have left the clinic in tears because I was given no pain relief for nerve pain. The care plan created for me by Dr Soni has incorrect information in it but I didn't bother to discuss it with the Doctors. I walk away...negligent is the word

There can be no possible way that the individual I had an appointment with is a licensed doctor. I can only assume they purchased their certification from the dark web. Whether it was their complete lack of knowledge when asked simple medical questions, then advising ridiculous and harmful remedies. Their absolutely deplorable “bedside manner” throughout the appointment, in between pushing their fingers into their eyes every 5 seconds as if to indicate you were an inconvenience being present in the office. Or the fact that they refused to dispense medication that I have been scripted for for years by previous actual GP’s. I wouldn’t set foot back in this clinic even if I spontaneously caught on fire in Belgrave and needed urgent medical attention. AVOID. THIS. CLINIC!

After Dr Olena Ivashchenko had been relocated to other suburbs, I had been struggling to find a regular GP for myself for few yrs. I have been to many GPs in Upwey, Tecoma, Ferntree Gully & Rowville, but I wasn't satisfied with anyone. Until this yr of 2023 when I consulted Dr. Mariam Estfanous, my health has been sorted and actual taken care of. Dr.Mariam is highly knowledgeable, experienced, good listener and, most importantly, having passion in providing care for her patients for better health outcomes. The Dr. made lots of referrals & follow up I too have to swap for healthier lifestyle choices, be active and take responsibility of my own health for better outcome under her guidance.

We moved to the area about 12 months ago and hadn't needed, and therefore decided on a new local GP. A couple weeks ago we needed one so I thought I'd give Hillscene a try. I have not regretted that decision at all. Even as a new patient I felt the level of care, empathy and service was the same as if I'd been for years. I have no hesitation whatsoever in taking the rest of my family there when the need should arise and look forward to being looked after by this clinic for many years to come. The reception staff are wonderful and Dr Love Joy is a warm, caring, friendly breath of fresh air in a profession that seems to have grown cold and distant at other clinics. Thank you so much.

WOW with in the same Hour the Reviews must be confusing to many in the Belgrave Ranges area. Point 1. Everyone has the Right to sharing , as for the complete professional Home based , personal based experience , this is what Hillscene is all about , Culture Warmth and not something that's not possible at a Superclinic . That Said Doctors Changing Moving hasn't meant the Service has shifted been there since 2015 so 6 yrs its Very Good in My Experience, especially with the Vaccine, and Admin Well Done Frontline System deserve Credit , if you don't like them go somewhere else ,what's the Point of One Low Ball visit becoming a Google rating 4 STARS

Has something gone on with change of staff at Hillscene?? I used to really appreciate this clinic last year, even recommended and had friends use it. Am a regular patient and was thankful for a good clinic with good doctors. More recently, the doctors have changed, was advised this was while the previous ones were on study leave. The new ones seem okay but not as good. Now over the last month, it's been really difficult to get ahold of anyone on the phone to book an appointment. Not sure why the phone rings out a handful of times on several occasions. I'm definitely at the point of considering leaving and finding a new clinic.

Avoid Dr Hasantha Jasinarachchi. Refused to provide care plan over phone session despite the fact I was isolating as I was a close contact, said to come back in person later and showed no human care for the fact I would miss out on my specialist appointment as a result. When I did come back as per his instructions, taking time out of work - he had me wait in clinic 30 mins before having admin tell me that he refused to treat me. Not sure that’s even legal. Admin very apologetic and kind however utterly dehumanizing experience with this individual doctor. Not a standard of care anyone should ever tolerate.

Recently started going here as Upwey Drs. stopped bulk billing and was really happy to find this clinic has recently been taken over by a lovely Dr. - Mariam. I saw her for women’s health and getting pathology referrals and she listened and organised it all with a much higher degree of thoroughness as well as kindness and compassion that I haven’t seen in a Dr. for a long long time. I will be recommending my female friends in the area see her and am really grateful I switched at the right time!

Reception lady incredibly rude!!! Charged $70 for a newborn baby for a 5 min appt at a bulk billing clinic??.. We hadn’t received Medicare card yet (they take weeks to get after baby is born). Was then told I had to pay ON the day & must be paid in CASH. Pouring with rain, newborn baby & post c cection to go find an atm!! Was more concerned about payment then anything else that appt. Will never be returning.

I am local for over 10 years and couldn't get in to my usual doctor. Today I was pleasantly surprised by the thorough discussion and path forward with Dr Miriam. I have "vague" symptoms but they've been cycling through my health since getting covid. The way forward depends on the thorough battery of tests I need to have. Its all up to me going forward. I left feeling area for and considered today

First time attending this clinic, I’m a local looking for a gp closer and I’ve found the one. Dr Mariam was absolutely amazing! Listened intently, caring, super informative. I was even give a print out explaining what I had with all important relevant information. The receptionists were kind and even the lady that took my bloods was extremely friendly too!

Would not recommend unless this clinic decides to make a change and hire some staff who are more attentive and caring. The doctors are dismissive and at times rude. I have been to this clinic many times out of necessity and at best it’s been adequate. Please look into training your staff on how to show more understanding and empathy for their patients.

I used to attend this clinic but after the incompetence of 2 of the doctors there I changed clinics as I have chronic health conditions and I need to know that they will be managed properly. In the end the records that I asked to be transferred to another clinic were not transferred properly as well. Definitely would not recommend.

I was really happy with a doctor that used to work there. She is gone and the two doctors I encountered, well. I'm just not sure who allowed them to work in Australia. I'm a healrh professional and I qas appalled from their communication skills, assessment and service. I only go here if I know what I need.

Hillscene Family Medical Centre is filled with commited, kind and helpful staff members and doctors. The doctors there are very approachable and I felt comfortable attending my appointments as they were easy to talk to and they prioritised my needs. I would highly reccomend this clinic to everyone.

THIS PLACE HAS REALLY GONE DOWN HILL. USED TO BE GOOD A FEW YEARS BACK. BOOKED MY BOOSTER SHOT AND THEN CALLED THE NIGHT BEFORE TO SAY THEY DIDNT HAVE ANY VACINE AND WOULDNT HAVE FOR ANOTHER MONTH. TRIED TO CALL BUT THEY KEEP HANGING UP. TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Doctor wouldnt give me a medical certificate for work 2 days befor i called and insisted it was illegal to do so and plus had call 4 times in the morning befor someone answered... would not reccomend theres pmenty if good gp's in the hills and this is not one of them

Thank you Dr Mariam, you are the best Great receptionists and nursing staff who are very helpful, empathetic and efficient. When I lost my referral, the receptionist got the doctor to issue new one and emailed to me within the hour. Easy to book and appointment. :)

Always have available appointments, They do run late sometimes but if you love local I would just call 30mins before your appointment. Receptionist are always helpful enough. We see either Dr Mariam Estfanous or Dr Fady Tawfik both really great!

I have found the doctors here very thorough. My old doctor never had space and never followed up test results. Hillscene you can always see a doctor, the staff are friendly and they follow up and are thorough with testing and referrals.

The Admin staff are polite and professional. Doctors have always been thorough and attentive to my medical concerns and I didn't feel rushed I highly recommend this facility
