We had an unexpected 10-day stay here due to my husband's very bad ski accident. All of the staff was extremely helpful (especially David) and accommodations were very clean, quiet, perfect. My husband was in the trauma hospital for 7 days while I stayed alone and the staff was so compassionate and helped me deal with scanning documents, emailing insurance forms, printing airlines safe to fly forms, advice on local stores and restaurants. The breakfast was very good and laundry room was super clean and convenient. Rooms were very clean and quiet. Once my husband was released from hospital we had to stay a few more days before flying back to U.S. so I asked to move us to an "accessible" room, which they were able to do and made sure no one stayed next to us to keep it very quiet for him (head injury). It is less than 5 minute drive to Foothills Hospital and walking distance to University of Calgary and across street from Banff Trail light rail line (which you do not hear at all from rooms). Very near lots of shopping and restaurants. The under ground heated parking was great. THANK YOU again Holiday Inn!

I booked a room at this hotel for 3 nights and had to cancel. When I called to cancel they informed me that I still had to pay for one night even though I was cancelling 3 days prior. The manager was extremely rude to me. When I phoned customer service I was treated the same, on hold for 30-40 mins and extremely rude. The call was disconnected 3 different times. They ended up charging my credit card 196$ for a room that I will not be staying in. I felt like I was dealing with a mom and pop hotel not an actual chain like Holiday Inn. The supervisor was very u professional and rude. Please be aware when you are booking here in case you need to cancel.

My husband and I travel to Calgary often for pleasure, medical, and business. This was our "go-to hotel" for many years until management recently made it clear they don't value our business. At check-out when I discoverd a 15% promotion going on, I was told it was too late to get it. I wonder why this rate was not disclosed to us at the time of making the reservation directly with the hotel. Had we known about the offer we would have taken it. When I challenged the Front Desk Manager, she told me the onus is on the customer to search for and find the best rate not their staff. Apparently, this offer was only advertised on social media, so if you don't follow them online you are out of luck. Overall, the hotel is great but the front desk staff could have been more helpful when making the reservation.

I had an excellent stay at Holiday Inn Express, with Mohinul at the front desk making a significant difference. He was incredibly helpful, assisting with parking when the lot was full and offering valuable tourist tips that enhanced my Banff and Calgary experience. Mohinul’s kindness and friendliness shone throughout my stay. The rooms were delightful, equipped with all the essentials that contributed to a wonderful visit. A special shout-out to the housekeeping team for maintaining a tidy room daily. Their attentive service didn't go unnoticed. Thank you for a memorable stay!

I had a two-night stay at the hotel. I needed a room urgently that day. I am an IHG member and the booking process on the app went so smoothly. I booked at 5:30PM and arrived at the hotel at 6PM. Was warmly welcomed by the front desk staff. The room was comfortable and super clean. The breakfast was amazing, I loved the crispy bacon. The breakfast attendance was helpful. Other staff were friendly as well. A guy asked me if I used the laundry with $1. So random but fun. I booked urgently so I didn’t check everything about the hotel, surprisingly the location is convenient, right next to transit, near the big street, some restaurants. Underground parking is available too. A perfect stay

Rooms are clean and well kept but definitely reflective of an older hotel. The rooms are in need of upgrades. The breakfast was good and the attendants were very attentive to ensuring that everything was well stocked. The reception staff were professional, courteous and helpful. The business centre was quiet and was able to get work done which was helpful. The location was pretty awesome too as it was very close to the train station and a couple of other points of interest. I’m not sure if the hotel can change this in any way, but the above ground parking lot was very cramped. After parking in one of the spots, it was practically a struggle to get in and out of the vehicle.

Stayed for 6 nights. Booked through Air Canada. Very smooth check in and check out. Was happy with the service, cleanliness, parking, etc. Room was cleaned and towels were changed every day without being asked as the notice in the room said. Another notice in the bathroom said ask for any toiletries that was forgotten like a comb, toothbrush, etc. but I checked and the hotel didn't deliver. Breakfast was good. Basement parking was convenient. Convenient to get around. Takeaway places and restaurants walking distance.

First Impression is terrible! Our room smelt like wet dog so much so it was almost unbearable. Then went out for the evening just to find the parking lot was full, no spots for paid customer's, not impressed. The breakfast was very bland with no dietary need options with the typical cheap breakfast items. I tried talking to staff about the smell in our room only to be told to contact the manager. Terrible odours generally in the hotel, it's in need of some renos. Don't waste your time going here. I will not be staying at this chain again.

Hi there, I booked a room one week advance at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Calgary NW - University Area, an IHG Hotel. I got confirmation from their General Manager Sherri that my room is booked for today 2/July/2023. When I arrived hotel for check In, the receptionist told me that they canceled my booking without any information and without telling me. I am very disappointing with their horrible and very poor service. Such a poor management and Staff in this hotel.

Convenient location to the Calgary airport, less than a 5-minute drive. We checked in quite late and were nicely accommodated. The guest towels need to be changed as there are many stains on them and they are threadbare with some holes. Included warm breakfast was quite nice to get our day started. Would stay again.

Excellent stay with this location. It says 2 star hotel but the service and the cleanliness is worth 5 stars. Customer service is wonderful, check in and check out processes were so easy and smooth. Everything is fantastic about this place! The atmosphere, the staff, the comfort, the food, the cleanliness! Room layout is very spacious (king size). Bed was extremely comfortable with your choice of firm and soft pillows. The bedding smelled fresh as the whole room did. Towels were fresh, Tv's were a nice size for the aging eyes.

Great location close to Crowchild Trail and across the street from the CTrian station. The breakfast was good and plentiful. Room was very comfortable, the bed was very comfortable.

This is our first time to stay at this location. Overall the hotel is clean, beds are comfortable, bathroom is clean and equipped with necessities, breakfast is standard. To highlight- I like the idea of adding handsoaps in dispensers, an indication that hotel recognizes the importance of hand washing. Will stay here again.

I have stayed at this location multiple times and keep coming back as it is clean, comfortable, has great staff and is located on main traffic routes in the west of Calgary. Quick access to the mountains or north to Red Deer and Edmonton, LRT station adjacent to the hotel gives great access throughout Calgary.

We stayed here for one night. While the room was more then I typically would spend, i opted to stay here due to the location more then anything. I am glad I did! It is a great hotel. Clean and modern with a wonderful pool and gym area. It's spotless, a comfortable room, great breakfast and good location!

From the time we arrived to when we left I can not say enough about the friendly staff you have at your hotel! My family really enjoyed our stay, our weekend was a very busy one so having comfortable beds and great night sleeps helped. We'll definitely stay here next time we come to Calgary!

The bed was comfortable for a good night sleep. Also the room was spacious were we weren’t bumping into each other. The washroom was clean and had all the toiletries needed. Plus the thermostat was easy to operate for temperature comfort

The hotel was easy to access from Hwy2 and convenient for the UofC and McMahon Stadium. The room was spacious enough for the wheeled walker. Only complaint was lack of GF knowledge by breakfast staff and lack of GF cereal/bread options.

The location is very easy to access off main streets in Calgary and is well located within the city. The hotel is clean and bright and well maintained. We encountered only friendly staff. Room clean and well equipped.

We stayed as a family of 5, there were enough beds counting pull out couch, and they were comfy. Also, was nice that didn’t have to wear swimming bands and pool was open til 10, also the waterslide was nice.
