Terrible customer service. Front desk people act like they don't need you. This is bad for business. Other clinics I went to treated me like family. I'm the new patient. I had submitted an application on their website to make an appointment. The system said someone would reach out to me to schedule one. I waited the next day, didn't see anything so I called in. I made 3 calls. 1st call was ok. Stephanie answered the phone. I asked if they took my insurance. I was told a patient would need to pay upfront and the insurance would pay the patient back. Basic procedural conversation. Although this was alright, I gave my feedback on the SYSTEM that this was a hassle for patients (who are also customers) because previous clinics I went to gave me a great peace of mind. I wouldn't need to pay anything upfront and even if the insurance didn't cover an item of a visit I wouldn't be charged because the payment had not been discussed with me. I could tell she didn't like hearing my feedback but that was fine. Not everyone in customer service understands what it means to take feedbacks. 2nd call. I went back to look at my insurance's policy and coverage before I made the 2nd call. I talked to another lady whose name I didn't hear clearly. I asked if it was normal for clinics to transfer patients' X-ray records to each other so that we could all be accurate and the patient wouldn't need to do more X-rays than they need to. She said I would need to do it myself and give them the info. This is fine. However, she made it sound like she didn't want to help. Previous clinics that I went to usually made me feel like home by offering options to help or at least communicated very nicely. These people at this clinic don't. When I said "um... interesting" and was processing some thoughts in my head and paused for about 2 seconds, she hung up on me not caring what else I had to say. Not a "thank you bye", not a "is there anything else we can help you with?" 3rd call. I called back and talked to Stephanie again. I told her the other lady hung up on me when I hadn't finished. Usually someone with a positive attitude would apologize by now (because it's customer service). But she made it seem like they're covering up for each other. She asked what was the concern. I reiterated that the person hung up on me. She avoided apologizing/talking about it, asked me again what was the concern. I told her what the conversation was about. She said "I don't think she meant to hang up on you". Lol how do you not mean to hang up on someone if you hang up on someone when they pause for 2 seconds, and not ask them if they need anything else? Now I knew they were just covering up for each other, I asked for the manager/doctor/owner of the clinic. She claimed to be the office manager and the doctor was just another employee. Who knows if she's telling the truth? She's not doing a great job of a manager either, by not being helpful and serviceful to the customer's satisfaction. Fair enough, I asked for a number that I can send my customer feedback to, since at this point she made it seem like it's a corporate kind of thing. She said this is the only number of the office, which now made it sound like it's family owned, meaning she's not being professional by allowing customers to voice their feedback to the owner. At this point she played dumb and pretended I was disconnecting, she couldn't hear me so that she could hang up again. That's low. So I just hung up myself. To business owner, this happened between 2:50 - 3:30 on 5/25/22. EDIT: I called another clinic and the front desk staff there was very helpful and accommodating. She communicated professionally. Told me (1) I wouldn't need to pay upfront and (2) they would obtain my previous X-ray record from my previous clinic themselves. They will also do a new x-ray for me and even if the insurance doesn't pay for it they will NOT charge me. Big peace of mind! She proactively asked my insurance ID number and learned about my coverage unlike other people who only cared that I should pay upfront.

I foolishly allowed Dr. Guram to convince me to get fillings done by him. Since I was paying out of pocket, he promised a decent discount. However, do not let the chandelier in the waiting area fool you, this place is awful. I came back 4 times for an "adjustment" on a filling, each time disappointed that the pain was not going away. Dr. Guram assured me that everyone is different and that some people react differently to dental work. After 4 visits to his office, I was done. Exasperated, I went to Justin Family Dentistry located near my home for a second opinion. Not only did the dentist, Dr. Kevin Nguyen, immediately see the problem with the filling, he explained to me what was wrong and adjusted my filling. Almost immediately I felt relief and could bite down without cringing. He also mentioned how his x-rays showed that I had 2 small cavities in the lower back teeth on the right hand side. That is where I had fillings done by the Hometown Dental dentist. Instead of going back to Dr. Guram and get them replaced for free, I paid EXTRA to replace those faulty fillings by a NEW dentist. Coincidentally, my sister recently got a filling done by Dr. Guram as well, his x-rays displayed she only had 1 cavity. After 3 weeks she could not eat on her right side because the filling was bothering her so much. We went back a second time where Dr. Guram "adjusted" it, saying that should fix the problem and if not to come back and get it replaced. At that point, I was completely done. I called her insurance and switched to Garden Valley Family & Cosmetic Dentistry in Roanoke. Not only did they replace my sister's filling, but also informed me she had 2 MORE cavities that needed fillings! Dr. Guram's x-rays completely missed 2 extra cavities! After those procedures at Garden Valley, my sister is experiencing NO PAIN. In conclusion, Hometown Dental has terrible x-ray equipment! They are also a chain so beware! Any fillings you get there, you will most likely be constantly returning to get "adjustments". I do not recommend this clinic.

Wow, this place went downhill in The last three years. Had a crown done here and paid in cash around 23 hundred bucks. The crown came off, and now they want to charge me almost 200 to put it back on. When did it become the norm to not take pride in the work you perform? If it was a decade or so, i could understand. It's around 800 dollars a year to have that tooth‍♂️ Went to another dentist, and they showed me their work compared to the work that was done. It's very sloppy, to say the least. The lines don't line up, and the crown was very loose and had gaps in the bottom, allowing saliva and food to get underneath the crown. This place only warranties their work for just a year, while other places are five years. I wouldn't warranty any of my work for over a year if i knew how subpar my work is also. And the biggest kick to the mouth is. I ordered a full porcelain crown. This was a metal crown. I wouldn't have known if it didn't fall off. It's up to the people to hold our services to a mutual standard. If they're not worried about doing quality work for the money, we pay them. Then people should stop going there. Because if this is their recourse for one. What do you think will happen if it happens to you or a loved one?

This is the worst dental office I've ever been to. I have paid them nearly $20,000.00 cast to do several crowns, a root canal, pull some teeth, and a partial. Right away the crowns began chipping. They replaced 12 of 15 teeth and made them all yellow. The teeth not replaced were in the back. Then they started to chip. 4 of them.The dentist made it out to be my fault, and was very defensive when I mentioned it to him. The bottom crowns were round, and very unnatural looking. Three of my teeth began getting loose. A gap opened up between my two front teeth. The partial was loose with food always getting underneath it. Every time I mentioned any of this the dentist was very defensive, and blamed me. I've had to consult with another dentist and to fix everything I could have had implants. What a disappointment. Please if you have a big job like this, don't go here.

This review is long overdue. I came in last year for a tooth that was turning gray. They were the only dentist still open when COVID hit so I had to see them for it. After taking x-rays, they insisted nothing was wrong with it and that I should just whiten it (I tried plenty of times, nothing ever worked). They then urged me to fill the cavities they had found, so I did, and I couldn't chew with the right side of my mouth for FIVE MONTHS until it finally became bearable. I went to another dentist today and they immediately told me there was tissue damage in the gray tooth and that I'd need a root canal, and that they thought my fillings were old. They're only a year old! Anyway please don't come here for anything other than the laughing gas.

First experience: I waited hours for just x rays and a cleaning. I watched the movie Zootopia twice through! Second experience: the office hours state that they open at 9am. I went in at 9am to go in and request for my x rays to take to another dentist appointment. No one was in the office; the call center had me wait another 30 minutes. When I called again they informed me that they don’t get into work until 12 on Fridays! When I finally got my x rays emailed to me, my new dentist said they were poor quality and couldn’t use them anyways! Very frustrating experiences with minimal and poor customer service. Will never be returning to this establishment.

I LOVE Dr. Willams and her team! She is the only dentist I trust with my teeth & my soul!! She just gets me! She is very knowledgeable & always makes me feel 1000% comfortable and safe while being in the chair. She is the kindest and most gentle dentist I’ve ever had, before her I always had the worst dentist experiences ever even as a child, not compassionate, rude and rough dentists. Not knowing dr Williams I had scheduled a appointment with hometown dental. Now 26 & Four years later of seeing Dr. Willams and her team I can say I will follow her anywhere she goes!!! She has my trust and would recommend her to anyone.

Going to the dentist has always been a tedious thing for my family. It very hard getting my family in all at once. Jenny was very accommodating and kept our need in mind. She was here helpful made dealing with our ins very easy and understandable. My daughter absolutely loved Blanca. It’s alway been very hard to get anything done on her Blanca and Dr Guram just made it look so easy and hassle free. Something I didn’t expect happening especially knowing how our past dental visits had gone at other places. It’s also a big plus that the office is beautifully decorated. I will defenatly be making this my new dental home.

I made this appt for my teenager as we are new to the area. The office was swift with ready appts the same day at a different location or the following week for my location. We checked in at 1150 and was gone by 230 after cleaning, 9 cavities filled, and a few sealants which were found all on his first visit. Fast and efficient. I gave 4 stars because I would have liked someone (doctor or assistant) to come out and give me proper at home instructions after these procedures, but my son was sent out with no words from anyone. I made a 6 month appt and left.

From walking in the door to walking out my experience was incredible, front desk is nice, they also offer online paperwork to save time, that’s always awesome. Blanca was very nice and informative. The dentist himself, AMAZING. He really took the time to explain and made sure I understood his diagnosis & his plan. He was thorough, knowledgeable, informative, he showed me my teeth and pointed out what needed attention etc. I really liked that. I’m definitely coming back and will forever be a patient to this doctor. He goes above & beyond and it shows.

Great service, prompt and polite. Totally pain free and as scared as i was they insured my dignity and treated me with the utmost respect. I had a major procedure done and it was cost effective for the amount of work Dr. Ghrom (hope i spelt it correctly) put in. Thanks so much for fixing my problem! I greatly appreciate it as i was in dire straits and my needs were expedited without incident. I highly recommend this institution for anyone who has dental needs! If i were local this would be the only place i trust with my dental needs.

Had the best experience ever at a dentist! Jenny in the front office was very nice and knowledgeable, once in the back Dr. Jiang and Clarissa made the entire experience great. Not painful at all, they listened to my concerns and were very gentle, from the X-rays to the cleaning. Nothing ever pinched, poked, hurt nor did they ever seem rushed to get done with my me. Will definitely be making this my dental office and will be bringing the entire family back for cleanings

Changing rating after initial visit. Staff exceptionally poor at returning phone calls and made excuses for not doing so. Finally had to simply walk in and demand my son be seen to correct restoration (filling) left too high causing great impact pain. We are currently at another dentist paying out of pocket because the visit to Dr. Guram's office used all our benefits and I had to pay several hundred out of pocket, as well. Very disappointed in the whole situation.

The staff was friendly and helpful. They use the latest equipment and were very professional. I went in with a problem tooth and they stayed late to treat me. They really went above and beyond. The dentist took the time to explain everything to me and seemed like she genuinely cared. I shopped around other dentists in the area and they were by far the most affordable. My experience at the Alliance Home Town Dental Office was AMAZING. I was greeted by Stephanie with her warm and contagious smile. Stephanie tremendous personally only set the stage for how WONDERFUL Dr. Williams and the rest of the staff was. This was by far not only my best dentist appointment by by far my best doctors visit. I will be recommending Home Town Dental to everyone I because of the awesome treatment I received.

I had a wonderful experience. I hadn’t been to see a dentist in a very long time, and Dr. Guram was so patient with me. He took the time to stop when he could tell I was uncomfortable. He constantly monitored my pain. I am going back for sure. Also, the insurance girl was so helpful. The entire staff did their best to make my experience calm and safe and to make sure all my questions were answered!

We had a wonderful experience entirely, from scheduling to the entire visit process! The staff was warm, accommodating and professional and competent! The dentist was completely professional, explained the procedures and was very thorough and gentle but totally proficient! I came in and Christine was amazing. My son was very nervous to come in to the dentist but she made him forget right when we walked in. It was such a beautiful office and so well kept. I’m petrified of dentists but I didn’t even think about getting my teeth looked at ! I love it here. So close to my home. If you want a forever dentist, this is the place to go !

Ive been going to this dentist for some time now and i have had a great experience here,everyone is so helpful and friendly and Dr. Guram is great at what he does,although could be more gentle when flossing, having really close contacts does not mean you need to use more force as this is really painful on the gums Sir!
