Honey bakery has been in business for years and we have been their clients for the entirety of the time. Mr. Saeed, the owner, is a true professional. He treats the clients with respect and care. He personally bakes the breads and the pastries and is always at the shop monitoring the prdoduction line to make sure the quality of the work remains at the highest. Their barbari bread, my favorite, is hands down the most delicious bread in the entire California! Thank you Mr. Saeed and the team for keeping the standards high.

I have recently moved here from Toronto which you find so many great bakeries that make fresh Barbari and Sangak and was looking for Persian bread in San--Jose. A friend told me to check this bakery. Boy, was I disappointed. Aside from prices that are twice as expensive, their Sangak bread is so small and thin, you could confuse it with lavash, and funny thing, despite being tiny and thin, while the top looks cooked, the bottom was raw. I have never seen sangak bread like this. The bread they call Barbari, it is not barbari. It is flat bread but not Barabari. Again small and expensive. Come on dude, put some dough into these breads, you don't go bankrupt, but more people come and buy bread from you. Oh, boy, do I miss Barbari and Mashadi bread from Super Pars, Sangak from Hyperfresh or Torange supermarkets in Toronto. If anyone planning to visit Toronto, please don't forget to check Super Pars for their Mashadi bread. Check the pic:

The bread is exactly what you'd expect Sangak to look and taste like. I'd give it a 5. The service however is horrible. It is a bajillion degrees in there due to no AC to speak of and the huge oven running and it being San Jose. So I usually order and walk out, double check to make sure they know it's my order, and the moment you step out they give your bread to the next person. You can go back in and they lie to you saying, "oh it's cooking, it will be right out" but that's when they start your batch. Walk out again to catch a breath of relief, even if it is 90 degrees outside, and your order is given to someone else again, and new lies about how yours will be out any second as they double-check with you, "How many did you want again? And what kind?" And you watch them start that many again from scratch.

I'm pretty much addicted to the Sangak bread. The reason for just 34 stars is that I prefer the "Special Sangak" which requires being lucky that they have it, or calling in an order. Unfortunately their phone system (cell phone?) is pretty bad and sometimes times they can't hear you. Nice place, nice people, I just wish they'd get a better phone. I note some reviews calling them out for bad service or being rude - something I've never encountered or seen. Sometimes there is a single worker slaving over the oven and trying to help customers at the same time. Have some patience folks. I say "Hi!" and smile, and that's what comes back. UI upgraded from 4 to 5 stars because since my initial review they have increased production so the Special is almost always available.

AMAZING cafe!!!! It is owned by an incredibly nice Persian guy named Sam!!! The pastries are homemade!!! It is very popular! Thanks Sam for sharing your culture with us. We felt your genuine hospitality and felt like we visited another country. The cream puffs were the best I have ever tasted. Many people were buying 5 loads of bread each. They would smell the bread as they got into their cars. It was so good. Super yummy Persian tea too!

We are visiting from Texas and stopped by for breakfast. We got cream puffs, rolette, chocolate cake, baklava, and sangak. Everything was absolutely perfect! The owner brought us some sarshir with cherry jam for the sangak and it was heavenly. This bakery is top notch and I strongly encourage everyone to give this bakery your business. I wish we had this bakery back home in Texas.

Very high quality sangak and barbari as someone who knows a good one when they see it, great texture and taste, replete with grains and sesame, ticks all the boxes for a reasonable price too. It's quite unfortunate that it won't be fresh in the afternoons since they make them early, but as a business perspective it's understandable. Get them at opening hours for optimal quality!

Heavenly aromas! Beautiful presentation with the pistachio dusting, making it difficult to choose. I love the subtle, lightly sweetened flavors, and the cream puff is perfect example. The sangak flatbread is enormous and bursting with roasted sesame flavor. The location next to the International Bazaar market makes it a worthwhile visit.

First time I came it was terrible customer service. But I gave them an excuse maybe they are having a bad day. Today I ordered bread and I asked for each one to be wrapped separately since I'm going to gift each one. The man rolled his eyes on me. I wasn't greeted nor thanked. At least smile, it's not that hard.

  • farnazest

I loved the baklava, it was expensive but so worth it I loved the square ones the most. I also buy sour cherry jam from here which is sour cherry preserves it is not marmalade. I love it. The only place that I know that sell these stuff. I loved the breads as well I got sangak and barbari bread. …

  • Ascalini

I used to be a custmer for this place until one day the owner told me he don't need my money in terms of coins. Honestly, I feel like a homeless or somebody who cannot afford to buy his $3 bread. What a dushbag! Not recommend anybody to visit this place where people did not respect for themselves.

  • Teresa Gilman

This place is a gem. As you enter the front door, immediately the alluring scent of freshly baked bread envelopes you in happiness. Today is beginning of Persian new year. The glass cases are filled with delicious sweets. I frequent every few weeks for the barbarian bread. It’s heavenly.

  • Apeksha

Their desserts are not very sweet and flavorful. The flavor is very mild unlike other desserts I have tried in different places. If you want sweet and strong flavors I wouldn’t go here. Their service was very good. People who work there are very friendly.

  • David Anderson

The eggplant dish was awesome! Beware, the red spice powder on the hummus is NOT just some paprika for color - it is deliciously spicy! The "eggs with vegetables" is a very dark spinach flavor, more like a souffle, I didn't much like it.

  • Sina

A regular sized box of their baked goods costs around 80$. So be warned. You may think it worths it because of the quality, well it doesn't. It is as generic as anything you can get in your local Walmart. Mine was stale as well.

  • Mahsa Behzadi

Let’s start with the bread. For those who want to try Sangak! First of all you need to BAKE the dough and make the bread out of it. It’s not tortilla, it’s Sangak. We bought 3 Sangak and we had to bake it again in the oven.

  • Pat Lennom

The owners are extremely rude. This is in regards to the bakery. I would rather pay double the price and support a establishment that understands customer service. Take the service out of the equation the bread was average.

  • Samantha Fernandes

Absolutely love their barbari & sangak bread. It is super fresh, easy to eat on the fly, and freeze for later use. The sweets are VERY sweet and quite pricey. I’m bummed it gets more & more expensive every time I visit.

  • Ali Mohammadkhan

Today we tried their Barbari and Sangak but fron the moment I saw the bread it was one of the best persian breads in bay area or maybe US. Staff were friendly too, next time hopefully I'll try their coockies.

  • Saleh Dinkhah

Extremely expensive, for 6 pieces of their tiny Baklava and couple of Napoleonian I paid $30 , you get that cheaper in Santana Row probably! They don't have any price tags and the quality is average.

  • Hilarya Lynntey

The worst Bakery shop that I have ever been ,I've tried their Sangak bread and it was not fresh at all ,even Sangak breads were left over more than few days ago . It was like PLASTIC , TERRIBLE.

  • Maria Valdes

We stumble into place by surprise. A couple who regulars was nice enough to help us order our to go order. Beef tongue was melt in your mouth tender. We will definitely come back and dine in.

  • Aida Roshan

Great fresh Persian bread. The owner is absolutely nice. He spent some time with me trying to find a specialty baking equipment for my mom. Definitely visit if you Persian bread and pastry.

The best Baklava, best quality, and very fresh. Also, cream puffs were the best too. Sam, I believe he is the owner. He is very nice and friendly. Highly recommend Honey Bakery!

  • Nate Peterson

Was at the restaurant and got some sangak bread as well. The kubideh and jojeh were perfect. The lamb shank was also very good! Will def return of I am in the area! Great food!

  • Morteza Tajally

Great bread. Have not been to the resturant but bread specially double sided khashkhashi is great. A bit over priced but i am cheap i guess. I will come back every week.

  • Noushin Shokouhi

There has been a few times we arrive around 4-5pm all the signs are on but the door is closed. If your hour of working is changed update it on the sheet!!! Wth !?

  • Parsa Dormiani

I drive 40 min each way for the Sangak. It's the best I've had outside of Iran. But if you make it out here for the bread, try the pastries, they are amazing.

  • Cici Green

Incredible flakey creamy custardy pistachio pastry. My friendly miniature rhinoceros and I LOVED it! The Baker himself was also very pleasant to talk with.

  • Sahar A

High quality breads I have had in the bay area, both sangak and barbaries are always fresh and well baked, not even comparable to what you get elsewhere.

  • Edgar Vasquez

The owners were very nice and their cream puffs were amazing, their bak lava is the best I’ve had in years Please support this wonderful local bakery!

  • Christopher Chung

Excellent, and authentic, Persian breads. If not consumed in one day, cut and freeze for toasting later. Well-worth a pit stop when in the South Bay.

  • Mehrnoosh Kh

Great and fresh barbari bread and sangak bread ( traditional persian whole wheat bread). They have some persian baked goods and pastries as well.

  • Hamid Zadeh

I specially enjoy their Barley bread and try to remember to stop by on weekends since they only bake this type of bread at the end of the week.

  • Anna Minassian

Fantastic place to get fresh sangak and barbari! Splurge for the one with the extra sesame seeds... makes a great and noticeable difference!!

  • Josephine Flores Rodriguez

I went in there the other day spent 30.00 $ I don't care to spend that much on sugar. It would be nice to list the price of each pastry.

  • Danial Barati

I loved absolutely everything about this place. Food was delicious, atmosphere was like in a family restaurant which it probably is.

  • WInecoyote1

Very good local Persian bakery. Needed the appropriate bread for a Tagine and Zaalouk meal. Close to the theme and look delicious

  • M Ghasemi

Unfortunately they sometimes mix fresh bread with old bread and sell together … very unfortunate way of treating customers

  • Mohammad Roohitavaf

Awesome quality! The barley bread is great. It tastes very good and it is very healthy. Their Sangak is great too.

  • Sam Jalali

It says "open", and they posted hours suggesting they are open until 8 PM, but they are actually closed at 7:30 PM

  • Mona Dinpajouh

Excellent precautions for Covid19. The pastries and cakes are delicious, owner is very friendly. Highly recommend!

  • Mehrdad Fahim

Bakery with specialty bread, however the bread is too salty and is baked so fast that the middle layer is raw.

  • Sep Raz
