Was curious about this long time bakery on Hastings so I decided to make a stop here for some goods. Was surprised to find that their prices are very cheap and they have a wide variety of goods ranging from Asian specifically Hong Kong baked goods as well as pies and and cookies. We ordered the egg tart ($0.80), pineapple coconut bun ($1.25), coconut bun ($1.25), jelly donut ($0.80), curry bun ($1.25), hot dog bun ($1.25), BBQ pork bun ($1.25), and butterfly ($1.60). As you see from the prices, the baked goods are very reasonably priced especially for today's prices. As for the taste, it can be a hit or miss. I would recommend the pineapple coconut bun because it tasted just like how they made it in the olden days. Really sweet coconuty insides and crispy not too sweet top. The bun is nice and fluffy. Not too much substance but worth for the price. I would also recommend the hotdog bun. Very generous with a whole hot dog and it's perfect for a snack or as breakfast. Would go perfect with a milk tea on the side. This place is definitely worth checking out as the prices are so cheap. I wouldn't go out of my to buy their goods but if I was in the neighbourhood I would definitely pick up a sausage bun and a coconut bun.

I am not joking but this is my favourite bakery in Vancouver. And I don’t even live close by. Sure we have lots of fancy bakeries in Vancouver but no places like Hong Hong can do the nostalgic Hong Kong-style bread so well. The shop itself is nostalgic enough. Pineapple bun (with photo) and hot dog bun are what I normally get. Their wife cake is exceptionally good as well. These are not too sweet. I think their most popular item is Portuguese bun which comes with a bag of six for three dollars. Lots of families will come get this for lunch or dinner in the neighborhood. I always get this too. Perfect for sandwiches at home. They have jelly donut that comes with a bag of three for $2.6 - everything here is a great deal. Cash only but it is worth the hassle of going to the ATM for them. There is a RBC nearby. One thing to pay attention to is they might not open as the Google map hour says, which is 9:30 am to 7 pm. Maybe safe to go at 10 am and before 6:30 pm as I had the experience of going too early and too late. Specifically, popular items like Portuguese bun might be out if you go too late.

A neighborhood Chinese bakery located in East Van. Perhaps not as many items as some of the larger Chinese bakeries but walking inside this bakery and the aromas will take you back to the bakeries that were in Chinatown. Had the BBQ pork bun, curry beef bun, coconut pineapple bun, palmier, and almond cookies. All turned out really well.

We have been coming to this location for quite some time because we live in the area. Every time we go past this place it smells like a nice bakery with a good scent of vanilla that I can smell from the street. My favourite items here are the jelly donuts. They are homemade and taste great with a generous amount of sugar. I like this local business, it’s simple and the bakery items they sell are good. The owner is very friendly.

Great bang for your buck, their buns taste delicious and are super fluffy. Custard bun was my favorite, followed by the BBQ pork bun. The sauage roll was really good too, very well seasoned lots of filling. Highly recommend for a quick bakery stop, just remember to bring cash as they don't accept cards!

Don't be deceived by the store front, this is a superb bakery! They have all sort of buns, pie, cookies and they are amazing! The cost of won't break your wallet too. But prepare your cash because they don't accept card payments. Located on E Hastings, not a lot of Vancouverites know about this place.

This is the type of shop to support if you want to support a local small business. I would say the buns here are average but it’s one of the cheapest I’ve seen in Vancouver so bang for buck, they get 5 stars and my business whenever I am craving HK style baked goods.

The coconut buns here are literally so fire probably top 5 deserts of all time for me. Been eating them since I was a kid, and even when I moved away I’ll still come back here for some coconut buns every time I visit. God bless this spot bro

Their prices have gone up recently. What was 80 cents is now $1 & buns that were $1.25 are now $1.50. Those are still decent prices compared to other Chinese bakeries. This is a cash only establishment. The lady who helped me was very

I love the nostalgic Cantonese bakery vibe. I arrived at 10:20AM to none Cantonese baked products available. Doughnuts were not ready until around 10:35AM. It was definitely worth the wait. By 10:35, doughnuts were ready and some

This place is cheap and affordable. There hotdog buns and pork buns are very delicious. Every time you walk pass the bakery you can smell the buns and it makes me so hungry. Overall great place to get a snack and good service.

If you haven’t tried her cinnamon buns… you’re missing out. Comes in pack of 6. She only makes so many a day so they sell out fast. Tip: you can call in to pre order. Microwave for 9 seconds for optimal enjoyment.

My favorite place to get cinnamon buns. Bring cash or you buy here. I also have to make sure that I have enough pocket change for a 6-pack ($5) because they don't always have smaller packages in stock.

The delicious smell just outside the door gets me every time! This bakery has a quiet appearance but the quality speaks volumes, and at very affordable prices too.
