One of the nicest, if not THE NICEST experiences I’ve had at a hotel, and I’ve traveled to many places around the world. The customer service is truly 5 diamonds. The special note on the bed, the sleep pack with the eye mask, ear plugs, and lavender spray, the macaroons on the table, the free snacks in the snack bar/fridge area. The toiletries left my hair and skin smelling fresh and feeling soft. The bed was comfortable and the view from the 5th floor was amazing. The customer truly is top notch. I simply texted a phone number anything I needed, and someone always replied promptly. “Where are there fun places to go after the show?” And within minutes they gave me a list of places. “How about something more like a club and dancing rather than a bar” and again another listing places. I had already checked out and they recommended me a place to go eat at, and they still drove me there on the house car. Every single staff member was polite and courteous. The only door I ever had to open was the door to my room when I was the only one there. Even the water pressure from the shower head was equivalent to a fire hydrant, it was that strong and it was great. Not those mealy droplets that barely get you wet. Out of all this, the one thing that I would say that was substandard (because the hotel really sets high standards in all areas) were the towels. The towels definitely were not on the same level as the rest of the hotel. I had softer, fluffier towels from Target or Costco. It’s not that big of a deal as they still were clean and got me dry. I was just really surprised that as nice as this hotel was, I’ve used better towels at hotels rated lower than Hotel Emma. The customer service and the rest of the experience was enough that the towels weren’t an issue.

If you are thinking about staying here for a special occasion but are not sure if it’s worth it due to your budget… JUST DO IT. First of all, the staff are so incredible. They really make the stay enjoyable from the moment you step out of your car to the moment you get back in it. They seem as if they genuinely love their job and are wanting you to have a happy day too which truly makes all the difference. What is amazing about this hotel, (besides the jaw dropping food - p.s. their homemade BBQ chips are INSANITY), are all the little touches they do to make it personal and pampering. Our beautiful room was filled with handwritten notes, gourmet snacks, and celebration goodies for our special occasion (make sure to write your reason for celebrating in the request box so they know!) We wish we spent more than an hour at the pool because it was luxurious and serene but we slept in because our pillows/bed were SO COMFY. We did hang out in the library for a long time and enjoyed our complimentary drinks. And I embarrassingly cried to the bellhop guy at checkout because I had such a good time. There’s a reason this place is a five star hotel and one of the best in America. It is truly special and the atmosphere is joyful and welcoming to everyone.

I believe this is one of those places that's expensive just for the sake of attracting more affluent customers but in reality it's just overpriced and is a basic experience. For a $700 a night room, I expected way more. The room was small and the descriptions of it being a historical hotel just means that everything is outdated and I guess some people like to pay a premium for that. Room service left my room open twice with my bags and my partner's purse inside. After finding the door open the first time we made sure the door was closed and when we returned the door was once again open and room service left the welcome note inside so we know they definitely had entered and didn't close the door. I will say that the area in front of the hotel looks very nice during the Christmas time as most of the trees are lit up. I'm not rich, so maybe I just don't understand something here but I definitely wouldn't recommend this to my family and friends. I'd rather get an upgraded room with a balcony or something at a "regular" hotel for the same or lower price.
The pub where we were was stunning. The room is huge and industrial but nevertheless cozy due to the compartmentalization of the space and the addition of pieces of the large steam machinery of the brewery. It's audible. Drinks took a while to arrive; for a Friday night, they seem understaffed. However, the quality was superb, so I would definitely return and, in light of the experience, consider staying at the hotel. I wish this hotel was in a little bit better location with less traffic and a quieter atmosphere. As I said, we were in the bar, which is stunning. The area, which is decorated with components of the brewery's massive steam gear, is vast and industrial, but cozy due to compartmentalization. It's quite audible. The beverages took a while to arrive because they appeared to be understaffed for a Friday night. However, the quality was fantastic, and I would return and possibly consider staying at the hotel based on my experience.

I have stayed in some extremely nice hotels all over the world, and the experience you get at Hotel Emma might be the best. You absolutely get what you pay for here. The service is next level - from the valet to the front desk to the concierge and beyond. The attention to detail at this hotel is outstanding. From the fresh fragrance in the air when you walk in to all the custom made furniture and layout of this former brewery provides a unique and memorable experience. The rooms are extremely comfortable and you really feel like you're staying in an upscale house versus a hotel. Another great bonus - the area this hotel is in, The Pearl District. The hotel itself has great food and store options, but all you have to do is step out the front door to discover even more restaurants and shops to choose from. Our only regret is that we can't stay longer. We look forward to returning- thank you for the memories.

OMG simply the best in the business!!! I have stayed in over 100 hotels on all but one continent and honestly cannot recall better service. From pulling up to driving away flawless impeccable service. Upon arrival complimentary scratch drink in the stunning library followed with beautifully accented rooms and welcome letter from Sarah with special touches for special occasion. Every single employee was so kind and thoughtful. The painter doing touch up in the hall was charming and the walls did not need any touch up anyway . Pool has all the extras and adorable drink station with great service once again. The little added reserved booths for guests at the well respected Sternewirth cocktail bar was such a plus. Lastly, when you leave a hotel and someone actually pours you a complimentary coffee on way out you know you have arrived at the best. No wonder Cher loves this hotel . Cheers, Jack

I cannot possibly sing Hotel Emma’s graces enough. This hotel is truly 5 stars / top notch! All of the staff we encountered were so incredibly helpful, welcoming, & informative. The property is absolutely stunning & if you appreciate historical buildings & small details- this is the hotel for you! The bed was SO comfy. Everything was super clean (we are very picky). One of my fav details is the Los Poblanos Lavender soaps and lotions, so relaxing! Valet was awesome & effortless. Lots of bars and cool spots to hang out. There is a full spa that we didn’t have time to try but definitely want to try next time. Very convenient walk to multiple restaurants on site. About a 45 min walk down the river to the main strip of the river walk where the main bars etc are located. Hotel Emma is a home away from home, an absolute gem, & we will definitely be returning (& recommending to all of our friends & family!)
This was an absolute gem of a hotel with outstanding service at every touchpoint. The reception desk is attentive, the door personnel is proactive (shout out to Alex), the valet service is courteous, the concierge is really useful (don’t skip using them-they are informed), and all the wait staff, from the Steinwerth, to Supper, the pool, the Library, and Larder, are friendly and professional. Hotel Emma provided 360 degree Texas hospitality and it was delightful. The rooms are well-equipped with very nice beds and pillows. Everything was impeccably clean and attention given to every detail. We will definitely be returning to Hotel Emma whenever we feel the need to recharge and be pampered. Just a lovely experience.

Amazing experience! Rooms were so thoughtfully decorated, great views, bathrooms were amazing! Such a old school, historic look and feel. Complimentary water, soda and snacks (great touch). Dining options were great and very tasty. Ambiance was at another level. They have done a fantastic job in keeping the old and historic feel with modern luxury. This location is right next to the Same Antonio river walk. Several dining options just outside in the court. Service was top notch! Great place for a business meeting, a romantic getaway and more. Highly recommended! The building has great historical significance and the story is well displayed in the lobby.

The best hotel I have ever stayed in. We stayed here in January 2022 and came back to stay in June 2022. All of their staff are just amazingly attentive, cheerful, kind, and professional. The room was so clean, spotless, spacious, and elegant yet modern. Amenities were excellent. The coffee they serve by Merritt Coffee Hotel Emma blend is excellent. The in-room dining was from the restaurant called Supper and it was exquisite. The seasonal produce they choose for each meal was well presented and tasty. The property smells so good from the moment you enter and it is so comforting. The signature welcome drink was unique and excellent. The rooftop pool was well maintained and very nice. I would love to stay at the Hotel Emma again real soon!!

We had the best time staying at the Hotel Emma! From the moment we walked in, service was impeccable. Each staff member we encountered interacted with genuine friendliness and personality. The bell person gave us an entertaining tour, pointing out the highlights of this beautiful historic building. I traveled with two young children who quickly made a mess of our room. The housekeeper went above and beyond during turn-down service, taking special care with the many toys we brought. They even sent a special snack of cookies and milk for the kiddos. Hotel Emma understands customer service. We can't wait to come back!

AMAZING! This is the BEST hotel I have ever been to! The staff is 10/10! The hotel is immaculate and they pay attention to every single detail! So many amenities in your room from the water, snacks, robe, slippers and turn down service! The ice machines have artesian ice and WATER! There was not one thing during my stay that was off, everything was flawless! The hotel smells amazing and the water pressure in the shower is fabulous! I would say this is more of an adult hotel then for families with small children. They have a pool and you are steps away from the Pearl district! Be prepared to be spoiled! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We felt so cared for and appreciated from the second we arrived. You could not possibly know the reason we came this weekend; my husband learned he has stage III cancer just 2 days earlier and we needed some rest & relaxation before treatments start. We love Hotel Emma and thought it would be the perfect getaway and you exceeded our expectations. This is not just a 5 star review, but a heartfelt thank you to every single member of the Emma team.

Hotel is a beautiful and aesthetically pleasing , but the the staff have very ugly attitudes. We went to order drinks and take engagement photos and multiple staff members came up to us overreacting over doing absolutely nothing but taking pictures, we knew that professional cameras were not aloud so we were taking pictures with our phones because a previous worker told us it was fine and then they proceeded to be hypocrites and say we couldn’t? This hotels serves and thrives off of rich people with money, if they see you as someone else they will not give you the same treatment. This hotel is very discriminatory and segregated. At this hotel they feel very entitled, so I do not recommend whatsoever unless you want to empower white & rich people privilege.
Omg where to begin, this places is wonderful. From a local staycation downtown to a long distance destination, highly recommend. The staff is clearly top notch, love the private library and multiple cool bars. Major farmers and makers markets on the weekend, culinary school site, river walks, just great all around. Jazz, TX nearby, great show. Rooftop pool and gym with very attentive service. If a discerning person was coming to town for work or fun or both, I would recommend this place. The french place across the walkable alley is also excellent. Will be back!

My wife and I love the Emma, we visit at least twice a year. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. The staff have to be some of the most pleasant and attentive we've ever encountered in all our travels - simply superb. Emma's restaurant, Supper, is solid - yummy unpretentious food. And the bar is one of the best in the country; amazing industrial decor and knowledgeable bartenders (plus the garlic peanuts are always good!) Emma is great launching pad for exploring the rest of San Antonio; the Riverwalk is within walking distance (a very pleasant walk). Cozy luxury.

This place deserves 10 stars, and I don’t hand those out lightly. As San Antonio natives, we’ve been talking about staying here forever. If you are thinking about staying here, DO IT. We’ve had lovely surprises around every corner, from the drinks in the library to in-room coffee service. Every detail has been considered. The whole hotel smells amazing, and the hallway carpets are plush. The room tv has chrome cast so you can watch something from your phone/laptop. The view out the window is lovely. The shower is the perfect amount of pressure. They have little morning muffins in the library. We just keep saying wow constantly.

For never staying the night I love this hotel it's beautiful it's Rich it's vintage it's a throwback, the look of the hotel alone is breathtaking. I, visit Hotel Emma to relax and just enjoy myself, even though not even staying the night, I enjoy just entering the hotel and sitting in the lobby area. Someday I'll stay one night here too and really experience what this hotel is like. The restaurant is beautiful, the lobby is amazing looking, and the bar is a during probation era, the library and the back store there's a store like a very old 1940s looking store like. There's so much at this hotel, that I have not seen any other hotel.
Stayed for 1 night; immediately I was placed in a room on a different floor than my other two coworkers who got rooms next to each other (they're white, I'm Hispanic). The cleaning ladies went to my room the same day I arrived while I was out getting dinner. The next day I found out my brand name sweater was missing from my luggage. While the hotel is grand and nice, the experience was bad. I hope the cleaning lady doesn't steal from the other guests and I hope the prejudice stops.

This hotel is a historic hotel that was a 19th century brew house. It’s on the Pearl district and it’s a super nice hotel. My hubby and I came here after my brother in law suggested we stop by so we just hung out at the bar. We will definitely be back to stay here. It’s right next to a river and it is super cozy! The bartender made a really good old fashioned and I just loved the ambiance. The service was great too. I didn’t get the best pictures but it’s definitely worth a visit.
My wife and I try and stay here once a year for our anniversary or other special occasion. We just had our 5th stay and am still shocked at the hospitality the staff shows. We absolutely love coming to Emma! Anyone who is traveling to San Antonio and wants a truly unique and luxurious experience please do yourself a favor and book here.

It is located in the Pearl near downtown San Antonio. It was once a well-known, successful brewery, but in recent years, a hotel, bar, and restaurant. The bar is AMAZING! Rooms were pricey for what you get compared to a "regular" hotel but the service was outstanding.
