Honestly, if you go to either of the locations downtown, you will have the best Donair of your life. I have been getting Donairs from this place since they opened and they are fantastic. I was thrilled when I found out they were going to open a west end location, as I live in the west end and it would save me a 1/2 hour drive to get Donair. Unfortunately, I have been to the west end location twice now and was not impressed. I'm not sure if it was the employee I encountered or if the west end is taking liberties with how the Donairs are prepared. Both times, the tomatoes were in big chunks (think a quarter of a tomato each piece). If this was the only issue, I would not be writing a review but again unfortunately this is not. The meat was shaved off but never hit the flat top, the pita was never steamed and it wasn't wrapped properly. In fact, I don't think the grill was even on. It's too bad, I hope this is sorted out for the future, like I said, this is my favorite company to get Donairs from but for now I will stick to the downtown locations.

I've been here numerous times, back when it was still called Famous King. Best shawarma in Kingston without any doubt. The food quality overall has dropped a little bit since they rebranded as House of Donair and opened up the Downtown location. In particular I've been disappointed by the way employees treat closing hours: on numerous occasions I've visited at 10:30pm and found them completely closed (despite hours saying open until 11pm), and even today I visited at 9:30pm (quite a ways from closing) and all of the meat on the rotisseries were gone, everything was put away, no one was at the counter and the employee was cleaning up early. I understand that traffic is lower here and employees having a slow night want to go home and figure they can just clean up early so they can go home as soon as they can, but this is just not good business practice. This is still the 'flagship' location so to speak and the only location with their original full menu - if they can't even be open and ready to serve at the times that they advertise, I can't recommend this establishment anymore.

This place has one of the BEST (if not the BEST) donair (doner) I have ever eaten. I have never seen a place where they add sweet sauce on top of the donair. But this is exactly what makes especial. You can get a donair sandwich or a donair plate which is my favourite. The meat is a bit spicy though but delicious. I recommend their regular poutine as well as the donair poutine. The staff are very nice and friendly. A BIG recommend .

My friends been raving about the Kingston location and how good this place is and we got it last night I got the chicken shawarma with no onions and pickles and he got that chicken shawarma plate. He took a couple bites and I ate my whole shawarma he got so sick last night and I'm getting so sick today. I have missed the shawarma's from OTTAWA but now being so sick I rate this a 1-5....if I could have just left a review and no star I would have....I guess if I want a shawarma I go somewhere else and hopefully I won't get sick like this.

Clean restaurant, they get full marks for that but everything else is a huge let down. I had the large Donair and while it's a good size, the meat is bland and reheated (poorly) and the wrap is stale. The "sweet" sauce is neither sweet nor really sauce. It's runny like water and has about as much taste. The cheese is mozzarella and at least when I had it, was a touch on the old side and the lettuce was brown. Overall the worst Donair I have ever had. Based on the reviews, I can only assume everything else on the menu is better.

This was the first donair spot I've tried in Kingston and absolutely loved it. I'm by no means a professional donair connsieur, nor an East-coaster, but I know what I like and I know what tastes good. I'm stoked to try their shawarma. Highly recommend to at least give their donair a try. I like that it was authentically thin-sliced donair meat, some places I've been it's hand cut and not thin at all. Donair sauce was super sweet. 5 stars from me, and will be back to try their other offerings.

I was fooled by so many good reviews, it is my first time here but one of the first donair experience ever. The service was extremely slow even we were the only customer at the store. Donair taste is not bad but it was very cold and felafel was not tasty and not even close to a real felafel taste. May be I am here just at the wrong time but you should be careful to eat here if you do not want to waste your money.

Just ordered through Uber and they completely just did not send the pita wrap. Called so many times just to ask that they don’t put tahini on the wrap because they don’t even let you modify it on any delivery apps. When I finally got through he told me they didn’t have the side I ordered and I asked them to substitute it for potatoes. After waiting over an hour all I got was the potatoes. Beyond disappointed

I was upset at first when I saw famous kings was gone but these guys are a way better replacement. The guys there are awesome every time I go in there they are always nice, and fun to just chat with. I Ordered food from there they forgot something which I understand it happens. Used to be king of Donair but now under new ownership and what a refreshing change. House of Donair is a clean fresh new look and the service is amazing. Really friendly staff with amazingly traditional Lebanese cuisine. The food is absolutely fantastic with fresh home prepared ingredients and they are very accommodating. If you are in the Kingston area and looking for a great bite to eat do yourself a favor and be sure to go to the House of Donair!

We went there 5pm ish on Saturday and got take out for dinner. We ate it in 20 minutes after we bought it. It tasted good but we both got stomachache and diarrhea 30 minutes after we ate. We’ve had similar food from other places before with no issue so it wasn’t intolerance or allergy, but mild food poisoning (we didn’t throw up or would have proceed to a clinic or the ER). We couln’t tell, but maybe the food was not fresh or it was contaminated.

The best Donair I've ever had! Beef was grilled slightly crispy after coming off the skewer. It had a wonderful peppery flavour. The Donair sauce was bang on! The owner gave me some beef to feed the dog who was travelling with us. Had to keep my husband away from it...even after he ate his huge Donair! Friends had chicken shawarma and loved it! Chicken was savoury and homemade Tahina and garlic sauce was excellent! Keep up the good work guys!

Came in on a Sunday night at 10 p.m. they definitely had some steady foot traffic. Staff was really friendly and they got the food made quick and they have a good drink selection. The interior is well lit spacious with lots of room to sit as a group. Two chicken shawarmas and some garlic potatoes to go. Chicken shawarmas were good but the potatoes are generic store-bought Frozen and then fried.... they need to get better potatoes.

Great food to get when you're craving it late at night. Convenient location, very straightforward place, not the prettiest interior but you don't go for the dining experience. Some of it can be a little pricier but it's because the servings are humongous and you physically shouldn't be able to finish all of it. I ordered falafels for $5, it came with 5 falafels, sauce, and a pita and it was more than enough to keep me going.

Ordered delivery today. I usually get just a donair pita and coke. Today I decided to order fries, upon arrival the donair was fine. The fries however must've been whatever they had sitting at the bottom of their fryer. Fries were all hard and snap when I bent them, I clearly got stale fries. Severely disappointed in what I got, given it cost so much extra to use delivery apps. Won't be ordering from here again.

Chicken Shawarma are definitely my go to at House of Donair. Loved the taste and the staff make the wraps amazing. Would just suggest if more sauce options were available. Overall I would say good food and great customer service.

Beat donair you will find in YGK. Great service. Great food. Lots of seating and lighting. Not very expensive for the quanity & quaility of food! If you have a donair or sweet sauce craving this is the closest you will get to East coast donairs in YGK! You have to try it to believe it! They also have lots of ther food items to choose from as it is not limited to just donairs. Very good food all around!

Fair prices for the quality of the food and portion sizes. I ordered the donair pizza and was greeted in store by friendly and accommodating staff, given the most beautiful pizza I’ve ever seen and it was quick. Slight mix up on the size so I got an X-Large for the price of a large! Best tasting donair pizza I’ve ever had!

Garlic Potatoes without Garlic Paste (Toum). Paid extra to add Pasteto chicken shawarma poutine... Cheese wasn't even added to the poutine. Every note ignored Order alot of times on UE from Princess and Division, no issues at all. 505 Princess seems to not care and quality is definitely lacking at that store. I would give a zero if I could and highly recommend never ordering from that store again.

I wish I could leave 0 stars -- this place gave me food poisoning. I went in for lunch around noon and ordered the poutine chicken shawarma. Although the fries were decent, the chicken wasn't trimmed off the kebab and instead came out of a warming drawer so I have no idea how long it had been sitting. This place is clearly for drunk eats and I would recommend avoiding this place in the daylight.

Great place for shawarma & donair in Kingston whether you're eating in or taking out. While the shawarma is the best I have had in Kingston (fresh & juicey), it can occasionally be dry and just can't compare to what you can get in Toronto. Staff are friendly & flexible to accommodate requests. Decently fast delivery through Just Eat and open late (perfect for late night studying or a drink rip).

The donair poutines are incredible! And the guys who work here are all super friendly.

Customer service is superb. Ordered via skipthedishes but they were out of the item I ordered. Being vegetarian I wasn't able to sub my pita. An employee there (maybe the owner) gave me a voucher for a free falafel for my next visit and wouldn't take payment from my friend who had ordered a chicken shwarma - completely generous on their part. Their garlic cream sauce is extra garlicky - yum.

Amazing service! Shard is an extremely kind, personable and efficient chef! My friends and I stopped by on our way to Montreal from Toronto. This is the best service I have ever had at a shawarma place. Massive portions and excellent customer service. I would highly recommend this spot for shawarma, and the fine gentleman working there.

I always get the donair poutine. They have the best I have tried in Kingston so far. Its $17.99 for the large which gets me 2-2.5 meals. Doesn't beat east side Shawarma from cornwall though.

I love this place. I have been going to the 505 Princess Street location for 20 years. It is always the best Donair in Kingston. It is good 99.9% of the time. In 20 years I have only had two bad Donair's from this place. Definitely try it out! Better than Donair in Halifax! Go in and get it in person, when getting it through skip the dish, it can be tampered with by the driver.

Very friendly staff however I ordered 5 take away mix plates and portions were not as I thought would be at all for the price I paid. I get double the portion in Ottawa any where I go. Yes in ottawa it is maybe 2$ more for the plates but I would rather pay the extra 2$ and get the satisfying amount for 5 hungry individuals after a long day of fasting in the month of Ramadan.

Hands down the worst shawarma in the city. I ordered a chicken shawarma plate. Pretty sure what I got was roast Turkey. Nothing about it had traditional shawarma flavours the meat was terribly dry which is weird cause I ordered it as soon as they opened for the day. Only thing remotely resembling a typical shawarma meal was that it was served with garlic paste and a pita.

Today and for the first time I ordered form House of Donair 394 Princess. A very professional employee Mr. Gahfar Al Mossie contacted me with regards to some details of my order via Uber eats. I was very impressed with his English and level of service. Shortly I enjoyed one of my best meals. Thanks Mr. Gahfar plz keep it up. I totally recommend this place.

I wish I knew the employees name because he was amazing. He was chatty but not distracted. He made suggestions and explained them. He wasn’t happy with the cook on my falafel so he made them fresh. Super impressed and the food was delicious. Wish I could give bonus stars.

Best shawarma place in Kingston. I’ve been here plenty of times. Tonight I got the shawarma plate, but usually I get a pita... they had to staple the box shut. They season the meat so beautifully. The staff are friendly and quick. Food is 10/10 delicious and fresh every time. The portion sizes are great for the price. I love this place so much!

This is a decent restaurant although Lebanese it is not. I believe the owners are Egyptian and the basmati rice is an indication that this is some sort of hybrid Middle Eastern-esque restaurant . With that being said, the food is tasty and probably the best place in the city that makes this type of food since Famous King is no longer around.

I stumbled upon this restaurant on one of my expeditions to MTL, and was surprised how good it was. The wrap and plate I ordered was portioned massively and the sauces were great. One thing to note, the sweet sauce was kind of weird in a wrap but some people might enjoy that combination.

The garlic sauce is made with perfection and no after breath no big bite. The sweet sauce is like no other. This place blasts any place around gauranteed. Thanks was truly great til the last bite.

Disgusting. Charged us double (3 doners @16 each but were charged 110CAD. Moreover, sandwiches were wet, falling apart and not even near to a Doner taste-all went to garbage and left rubbish aftertaste that spoilt a feeling of a long weekend and failed all the good impression about Kingston experience. Moved to Kingston from Ottawa recently. Naturally I have now tried all the popular shawarma places. I’ve had this twice now, and it’s the best shawarma I have EVER had. The chicken is next love. Great marinade and they include some crispy chicken skin on their shawarma. Highly recommend adding some tahini and hot sauce.

Fantastic food! They have shawarmas, falafel, and donairs. The serving portions are huge for the price! Great service. Good operating times. Location was initially hard to find. Parking was limited. Not much for seating. But it's great for take-out or delivery.

The meat is HALAL. We tried the beef donair wrap. Taste was great. Portion was also good. Very friendly and nice staff. I’ll give one star less coz of the price, it costed me almost $20 for two small size wraps- that’s too much compared to Toronto where you could get two wraps for $9.95 at some places

Very disappointing in terms of food quality and quantity. If you are looking for a quick meal that is not relatively cheap, this is your place. But if you are looking for a high quality food, you better go somewhere else (other Shawarma/donair places. Perhaps in Ottawa!) The service was great though.

I was really looking forward to having a Donair, it has been years and they looked like a good place. Unfortunately they put a sweet sauce on it which changed the flavor completely from savory to sweet - not at all what I wanted. I also found it very sticky because of the sweet sauce.

10/10 delicious every time. Missed my mobile order and thought I must have accidentally ordered at the wrong location - I hadn't (wouldn't be surprising if I had) but they had my order ready super quick and accurate once we figured out it was an issue on their end. Great service.

Good food, decent price, nice staff. We stopped by here after a long day to grab a quick bite. It's a large amount of food for the price and if you want anything extra, just, ask and they are usually, very willing to throw on a couple more pickles or something like that.

Was at their Chatham and Princess location. First time there and a great experience. Got a small donair and it was stuffed with meat. Highly recommend putting a bit of hot sauce in it. Tasted great. Would recommend!

Walked in and bought a shawarma sandwich for NINE dollars. That's too expensive. Sandwich was only ok too. I also asked if I could order a side of garlic potatoes (which was four dollars extra), but I was told their fryer was broken. Staff is nice though.

Never been to this place before. We were so shocked at how much food they gave us, plus they even give us one pita each on top. Meat is excellent, and rice is cooked perfectly. For 15$ you get so much food it’s incredible, what a wonderful spot to eat at

Best donair pizza I’ve had since moving from the east coast where donair is king. Lot’s of sauce for dipping the pizza in or drizzle on top for taste. Dough was the perfect texture to fold up a slice and eat it like a donair. Well done!

Adding the place to my blacklist due to incredibly poor food quality. If you must know, rice was nearly raw, hummus is literally just processed chickpeas (worst of my life), potatoes were old and smelled funny, chicken was like rubber.

I picked up 2 chicken shawarma chicken plates yesterday. They were delicious. I live in Belleville and had been waiting all day for my husband at Hotel Dieu. What a wonderful treat to bring home .

Worst ever customer service by a guy who is working around 10pm & he made excuses to not take my order even I said him I’ll wait & there wasn’t busy …

Not sure how this place has a good 4 stars. So bad quality food. I would not recommend this place. I had chicken shawarma, and it was awful—one of the worst.

Ordered the shwarma plate. So tasty and filling, staff were really friendly as well. Got an extra pita without asking! Would definitely come again.

Falafel pita $8.50 tax incl. Amazing service and fresh ingredients. Great place to grab a late night bite or even lunch. 5/5 highly recommend!!

The food was very very tasty and filling. Friendly service and definitely recommend to eat here. I know we will definitely go again and again!
