I was only connecting from London via Houston to Cancun on the 18th of September 2023 essentially down to an error & fault of border patrol due to their own mistake me & my father not only missed our connecting flight but had to catch a red flight & missed/lost money on our airport transfer. I understand phones are not permitted in the room but I clearly showed all the border patrol homeland agents both my passport documents & connecting boarding passes to connect to Cancun due to their ignorance & their lack of understanding & empathy as a result we have now lost money due to their negligence. Word of advice: just because you’re a homeland agent actually ensure you’re doing diligence in every different situation as now it’s had a knock effect on my vacation & learn to not let the authority get to your head your not AUSA Angela Valdez from Power.
Very poor setup for international travelers. Global entry sign is waaaay after the sign which says it is for residents and non passport holders. So you have to go the wrong way before seeing you can go the right way. International to domestic transfers require you to pick up your bag to immediately drop it off again. Then you have to go through security in an area that does not accept TSA-precheck. This is a large airport but the flow makes no sense. It’s designed to slow things down.
Do not buy duty free if you are passing through this airport. They will take it for themselves or force you to check an extra bag and go back through security. It’s like they’re running a scam, never dealt with something like this for international travel. Avoid if possible. Also, every single chair in the airport is bolted down and bar height. So uncomfortable. I hate this airport
Good luck finding a men's room or if you do find one, pray its open if you gotta go.. overall though, its by far the worst airport I've ever been to.
Never chose this airport for connected flights, poor logistics, slow, rude and incompetent personnel (except custom officers)
Great airport, one of a kind. Nice internet service, bathrooms, people. A very modern airport.
