Anh is an extremely nice person and an amazing cook and you will taste one of the best dishes ever. We did this experience as a family and loved every second of it. Anh picks you up from your hotel and brings you to the local market where you learn about the food, the market, the Vietnamese merchants, their cooking and much more. After that he brings you to his cooking studio, where you start to prepare the food, you learn about combining flavours, the background of Vietnamese cooking and so much more. For us this was one of the best things we did in Vietnam!

We were in Hue at the end of September and booked a vegetarian cooking lesson with Anh. He picked us up from the hotel, walked with us through the market and bought everything together with us. Together we then prepared three dishes in a private apartment and he took a lot of time to explain everything to us in detail. He even provided take away boxes so that we could take the leftovers of the cooked dishes with us as a meal for our trip north on the night train. Of course he also took us back to the hotel. Anh is a wonderful person, patiently answering all questions while being very helpful and friendly and we definitely recommend him to anyone who is in Hue and interested in good food.

What absolute pleasure being able to share this class with Anh. His attention to detail and knowledge of local Hue cuisine is amazing. We prepared a 3 course meal that would be a show stopper at any dinner party back home including Prawn and green Mango salad Hue style,Lemongrass skewer pork served with rice paper and garnish and a delicious Fried Chicken with Lemongrass and Chili. We recommend this activity if you in Hue and are interested in Vietnamese cuisine. And of course you get to eat everything you made. Thank you so much Anh

If you are in Hue and like Vietnamese food (and why wouldn't you), we would highly recommend you taking a vegetarian cooking class with Anh. Our class started with a fun stroll over the market, where we bought all ingredients for the truely mouthwatering meal that we learned to prepare: Spring rolls (both fresh and fried), a peanut sauce and fried tofu in tomato sauce. Anh, who used to work as a restaurant chef, speaks good English. As demanding a teacher as he is, he made sure that we enjoyed ourselves and gained some insight in what makes Vietnamese cuisine so unique. Highly recommended!

I was lucky to discover Anh’s cooking class and it was the perfect activity for a rainy Hue day with my husband and teenage children. Anh was a very patient, friendly and knowledgeable teacher who spoke good English and helped us create an amazing menu. The class is conducted in very modest surroundings but there was good attention to food hygiene and the ingredients were very fresh. I would highly recommend this authentic Vietnamese cooking experience.

Our cooking class with Anh was amazing. Anh is a very warm and welcoming host. We went for a walk around the market in the morning to buy beautiful fresh ingredients, before cooking a feast! We made lemon grass chicken, green mango & prawn salad, and BBQ pork. Everything was clean and hygienic, and Anh was a very generous host, sharing his knowledge and experience about his life and culture. We were here from 930 to 230, with a taxi included as it was raining. You will leave feeling satisfied! Big recommend.

The cooking class was incredible! Anh is so knowledgeable and took time to explain any questions we had about the dishes. The stroll in the market and getting the ingredients really showcased the local scene, and the food preparation was so simple yet so delicious. He loves food and it’s obvious that teaching others is his way to demonstrate that passion. He’s such an amiable and easygoing person, we were chatting away the whole afternoon! We’ve had for sure one of our best experiences of our Vietnam trip! We’ve had a very warm welcome and then it was a real pleasure to spend a few hours with Anh. Not only for cooking, but also for great conversation, for sharing jokes… We’ve made 3 traditional dishes and ended the dinner with a Nice and fresh jackfruit. We’ve learnt a lot as Anh is really patient, kind and excited about sharing his knowledge and love for Hue traditional food. We took the street food tour with Ahn and it was the perfect way to experiece Hue’s fantastic food and culture. It took us to fatastic restaurants that we would not likely have found ourself or using online guides. Ahn has a background as cook and is the perfect guide. He is very experienced and passionate about the Hue food scene and culture. He is also a very nice person to hang out with. We had a great evening with lots of fun and fantastic food. It is an experience we would highly recommend everyone to try!

We had an amazing experience, going to the market doing some Local crocery shopping and cooking together after. The vibe was relaxed and on top we got to enjoy a delicious lunch we cooked ourselfs. We are very glad we chose this class, having someone there to explain and show everything to only the two of us is a luxury we can really reccomend. We did a cooking class with Anh in Hue. We were picked up from the hotel, went to the local market and then back to his kitchen. Anh taught us to cook some Hue specialty food, such as lemon grass pork skewers, lemony chicken and mango salad. The food was all delicious and we'll try to recreate the recipes back at home. My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful cooking class alongside a lovely French couple. Where to even start… Anh is an absolute gem of a human being. He’s so kind and his English is excellent! We started the day being picked up at our hotel where he took us to a local market to buy fresh veggies and fruits for our class. He then took us to his family’s humble home where we learned how to prepare a few Hue classic dishes. We had an amazing time sharing excellent home cooked food. A fun day indeed! Thanks Anh!

We booked the cooking class for 2 persons. Met Anh at the market to buy some ingredients for the dishes. As we didnt know Jackfruit before, Anh was so kind and bought some for desert (very tasty). After shopping tour we drove to the house of his sister where we did the cooking. It was a great experience to learn more about the local food.

Our food tour guide was a lovely & friendly person and we enjoyed our conversation, but I would not call what we did a food tour. We went to one vegetarian restaurant then for coffee and desert so that was a bit disappointing. The food was nice but what were we paying for a tour for, I don't know. The desert really wasn't very good, especially given we said previously we weren't a fan of sweet things. I'd expect on a tour like this for it to be more personalised.

My wife and I had a wonderful afternoon learning about local Hue gastronomy. Anh took us to the local food market to buy fresh ingredients, then he showed us how to prepare, cook and present the most delicious Vietnamese food I’ve ever tasted. We had a good time cooking traditional Hue food with Anh. After we were picked up at our BnB we went to the market to buy some vegetables and passion fruits. Then by taxi to the kitchen where we got some fresh passion fruit juice. Anh was really a good teacher and explained everything that we were cutting and making. After we prepared everything we sat down for lunch. Really nice to eat all the food we just made and it tasted so good.

Everybody who likes food and likes to cook, has to do this amazing cooking class with Anh!!! It was a really great experience. My friend and me, we choosed a private cooking class. We could choose 3 dishes. Anh picked us up at our hostel and after that, we went to a big local market to buy the fresh ingredients. Then we cooked together in his new lovely cooking place. Ahn is very knowledgeable and shared a lot of cooking tips with us during the cooking class! He also brought us around the local DongBa market and explained a lot to us. My partner and I did a food tour with Anh, and it was incredible! Not only was the food delicious, Anh was really great to chat to too! He even went above and beyond and brought my partner banh mi to our accommodation the next day because he hadn’t tried it yet! Anh was also very accommodating for my gluten intolerance. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Hue - it was the highlight of our stay ☺️

Es war ein sehr schönes Erlebnis! Zuerst waren wir auf dem Markt um unsere Lebensmittel frisch einzukaufen, anschließend sind wir in die küche gefahren und haben gemeinsam gekocht. Die regionalen Gerichte haben uns sehr viel besser geschmeckt als im Restaurant. Der Koch Anh ist sehr zuvorkommend und die Hygiene war sehr gut. Auf jedenfall zu empfehlen!

We took Anh's food tour in Hue, and would highly recommend it! It was an excellent introduction to all the famous specialities in Hue, and we got to try them in restaurants that we would not have been able to find ourselves. We revisited two places during the next couple of days as they were so good. In particular, the salted coffee we tried on Anh's tour was far, far better than any other we had!

I had a great time learning how to cook local vietnamese cuisine with Anh, in his sister's house. Anh is friendly and helpful, and the food we cooked was delicious. Anh was clearly maintaining high standards of cleanliness. I also had a lot of fun playing toy cars with Anh's young nephew while one of our dishes was simmering on the stove!

I am a big fan of food. That's why I decided to take part in a cooking class. I just came across this class on my facebook newfeed. And as you can imagine that I quickly learned how to cook the local dishes with some Vietnamese herbs. I also hit the market with a nice teacher to buy some stuffs before cooking. I had a great time there and made a lot of friends from all over the world.

Anh is a brilliant teacher! We done the vegetarian cooking class and all the dishes are delicious and easy to follow. I really liked learning how to cook tofu properly but talking with Anh about his dreams of a restaurant & learning about local Vietnamese food/people made the day even better. He is very funny and speaks great english... this was our favourite thing to do in Hue!

Did Anh’s Hue Specialty Food tour and had the best time! Anh went out of his way to show my partner and I all the best spots for authentic cuisine throughout the city. He was also a great conversationalist and we got to learn more about Vietnamese culture. Definitely recommend to discover for yourself why Hue is the food capital of Vietnam

He was Amazing his knowledge of produce technique was astounding as well. He made the best morning glory stirfry. I have had greens but these were amazing. The shrimp mango carrot salad was so delicious. It was all Delicious. To be totally honest 8t was the best meal in all Vietnam for me personally.

This is a family run operation which is outstanding. Great tour of the market to buy the ingredients before heading to Anh’s family home to cook. It’s rustic but so authentic- we felt so welcomed and impressed at the cleanliness and care taken. Avoid the corporate cookie cutter classes in Hoi An and spend time with Anh instead- you won’t be sorry!

Kurz vaření byl opravdu skvělý. Ráno jsme se s Anh potkali na tržnici, kde jsme nakoupili suroviny na vaření, poté jsme se přesunuli do domu jeho sestry, kde jsme uvařili 3 fantastická jídla. Cely kurz probíhal ve velice autentickém prostředí. Nejedna se o žádné turisticky frekventované místo. Můžu vřele doporučit všem, kdo radi vaří! :)

Ahn Cookery is a tranquil, easily accessible spot in the centre of town, operated by an amazingly sweet and knowledgeable couple. Anh is a trained cook with a lot of restaurant experience, who started off teaching in his own kitchen. Now he's expanded the business and can cater for larger groups, perfect!

There are some things about Hue cuisine that you can’t learn from watching tutorials on YouTube. Anh used to be a chef so he is very knowledgeable about cooking and how to create good flavours. He also speaks excellent English so communication was really easy. I highly recommend the cooking class.

We had a great time with Anh! Really enjoyed our time learning some lovely Vietnamese dishes - delicious. We cooked at his sister’s house and the environment was basic but very clean and hygienic. We loved seeing a slice of Vietnamese life and food.

Anh, is a very friendly and clear guide. His class is simple and the food is delicious. Wandering the market with Anh alllowed me to pepper him with questions as he negotiated for ingredients. Would recommend this course for an authentic experience.

Fantastic experience. Anh is a fantastic host, patient teacher and great cook! His English is very good. We were glad we took this course in Hue, rather than Hoi An as we originally planned. This was a small class in a very authentic surrounding.
