They serve alcohol...sounds cool and I like for me nail salon to offer an adult beverage but I am not sure how I feel about my dentist offering me a shot of fireball at 1:45 while I wait for my appointment time. 2. My appointment time was 2...the staff was still walking in from lunch at 2:07. They walk in through the front door lobby so I could see them coming in. But I get it, maybe the AM appointments ran long and everyone still deserves their full lunch break Positive Comments: 1. Everyone was so freaking nice-front desk staff, the X-ray tech, the doctor and even the hygienist (but read my comments below about the last dude) 2. They were very informative and took the time to explain their recommendations Negative Comments: My biggest and only complaint is with the hygienist and my cleaning, which was the main reason for my appointment. I first saw the doctor who went over my x-rays and mentioned that I had some cavities she wanted to address. She also explained these cavities were most likely from food gaps (gaps in my molars where food tends to get caught thus creating bacteria). She then explained that the hygienist would be in next to do a gum check, come up with a treatment plan and do my cleaning. He comes in and before introducing himself says "I see Stephanie likes her candies and acidic foods". I get that I have cavities, but let's not be judgey. Also, the doctor mentioned my cavities were due to another reason besides my diet. (-1 star) He then explains what this gum test is. My results weren't perfect but weren't bad, like 2 digits off from what an ideal score would be. Based off these results he recommended we do some sort of advance cleaning (other reviews mention this). I really appreciated how he explained what the treatment was and why it was important. He then said they were going to verify with my insurance. 5 minutes later, a case manager comes in to discuss my options. With the fillings they wanted to do and this advanced cleaning (neither of which my insurance would cover) the total would be over a grand. I had to deny. I could not commit to that price without speaking to my insurance. I asked if we could do the regular cleaning. The case manager said she would have to get approval because sometimes the hygienist won't agree to do a basic cleaning without the advance options. She went to ask, and came back to say he would allow. ...I should have ran away at this moment. I have had pap smears that lasted longer than this "cleaning". It took literally less than 5 minutes and he was very rough. I am not sensitive to cleanings and usually don't have any issues. But it was the worst dental experience of my life. The way he rested his hands on my mouth was painful; Like digging his supporting pinky nail into my gum. The ultra sonic cleaner (which I have experienced before without complaint) was DEAFENING. It was like he was inside my head. I am not sure if he could control the level it's on but it did not feel normal. He kept splashing water in my face, so much so that I had to stop him twice and his response was "Oh sorry, I am so focused on the cleaning". Really!? You're so focused you can't look an inch over and notice that you're spraying me in the eye. (-1 star) He also said he wasn't willing to polish my teeth because I was "so bloody" and he didn't want to stain me. I do tend to bleed sometimes but never such a profuse amount that I have been told I couldn't be polished. (-1 star) I am relieved that I only had to endure this madness for less than 5 minutes, but upset that I had to pay $103 for this sub-par "cleaning". He did not take his time, he was not thorough, he was really rough and I feel like I need to schedule a cleaning right away somewhere else.

Treatment wise we loved this office. I had been going for about 3-4 years. Recently, my step children were seen for care and needed SRP’s. We were asked to pay upfront the difference of what insurance would not cover which we did. Then a year later I get a bill for one of my children and it was because insurance denied the claim mind you they paid all his other visits for the other half of his mouth with no problem. I asked if they had appealed it because my statement showed it was denied due medical documentation not provided. They said they would ask billing. I requested to speak to billing and they don’t exist to speak to patients you have to just take the receptionist’s word. So I took time out of my day to speak to the insurance myself who said it was denied because records were not submitted. So I call huebner smiles back and we go back and forth for days maybe even a few weeks. Promised to get me a manager because billing doesn’t speak to patients. I would get hung up on every time. Finally Amy in the front told me they had already sent the claim and it was denied again too bad I had to pay. This started in about Nov 2022. My son was seen in June of 2022. Fast forward to August 2023 I get a call from Amy demanding payment because my insurance paid the claim but they downgraded the charge and didn’t pay them enough and they were gonna send me to collections. I told her this was the first time I’ve heard of any resolution because their communication is terrible. She says they had notified me and sends me my statements while on the phone. They got paid in May of 2023 and never sent me a new statement or a phone call nothing so they did not notify me but were threatening to send me to collections. Now I’m being harassed over $56 insurance didn’t pay and again she’s not billing and no one can talk to billing to tell me why the claim was downgraded. As someone who did medical billing for over 7 years. Downgrades are either because there was not medical necessity or they were dinged because of how long they took to file the claim. Things that are not my fault! So now I have to take more time out of my day to call insurance again to get answers that billing should be able to provide. Im at the point that I don’t care to pay the $56 and we are not returning as patients.

EDIT: Since Dr. Walker left this practice, I will no longer be coming here. I did not know Dr. Walker had left, so for my last regular 6month visit I was scheduled with the new dentist, Dr. Patel. She tried to tell me I had 3 cavities that needed to be filled ASAP before they would turn into root canals in 3-4 months (?!?!). How convenient, considering I had a clean bill of health at my last visit with Dr. Walker and nothing has changed with my hygiene habits. Dr. Walker was also very transparent - if she told me I had a cavity, she would SHOW me the cavities on my x-rays and tell me truthfully how deep/how urgent they were. This new doctor just threw numbers at me to fabricate a sense of urgency, which made me instantly lose trust in her. To top it off, once I got to the check-out desk at the end, they told me I could not schedule my next visit on a Saturday because they “are no longer scheduling ‘my type of visit’ on Saturdays.” From experience, I know this is code for, “Your prophylaxis cleanings don’t make us enough money to schedule you on Saturdays.” The entire reason I transferred care here several years ago, was because they were one of the few offices where I could be seen on weekends so I didn’t have to miss work! It’s so sad to see this practice, once a pillar of compassion, integrity, and transparency, turn into yet another money-hungry corporate dental office. I’ll be looking elsewhere for my preventative care. This place is incredible. I worked in dentistry for a couple years and even I still get a little shaky in the chair… but Dr. Walker is a sweetheart and has made every visit fast, comfortable and completely painless. Everyone here is obviously very good at what they do and they treat you like family. I’ll never go anywhere else.

I have been coming to Huebner Smiles for the past 6 years. In these 6 years, I have had one root canal, and a replacement root canal done at their location. Dr. Bustos is absolutely exceptional, she is now working at Cresta Bella off i-10/Camp Bullis. Dr. Bustos is the reason that I came back to Huebner Smiles after the first payment situation, nearly 6 years ago. I have bought the "Smile Savers" plan twice now. I have been told that it would give me discounts on my procedures and cover a couple of cleanings. I do not have dental insurance, so I thought this was going to a life saver! Before each major procedure (root canals), I pay in full. After each minor procedure (cleanings/x-rays), I pay in full. Since I do not have any other insurance, they have no need to calculate any additional numbers and I pay for what I have received, right?! Wrong. In September or 2022, I needed my first start to finish root canal. Dr. Bustos did amazing work and it's as the cap was made in my mouth, by my mouth. However, now I am getting calls from the billing office threatening to send my balance due to collections. I have paid in full EVERY VISIT. I have tried speaking with someone, they said they would talk to someone for me, but then all I receive is text messages from the office letting me know that there is still a balance due and they are going to send to collections in 10 days. Please do not go to Huebner Smiles, they will try to squeeze every penny they can from you. You should however, go visit Dr. Bustos at Cresta Bella though. She will take great care of you!

I tried this place because of the reviews on Yelp. Getting an appointment was pretty tough since they are booked up for a long time. The lobby was clean and they also offer refreshments for their customers. The staff was really nice and each room was rather large, equipped with two large TVs, one in front of you and one attached to the ceiling so you can watch while getting your teeth done, and felt quite private. My hygienist and the dentist were super nice and they were very informative. I would totally come back to them EXCEPT of their payment system. They have a system where they calculate the charges of the work done and estimate how much the insurance will charge. They ask that you pay for it beforehand, which made me feel uneasy since I've always paid after the insurance paid and the dentist sent me a bill. I asked what would happen if they overcharged me and they said I could ask them for a refund. I ended up paying since the lady was really insistent that their system always matched what the insurance ended up paying and that everyone in Texas asks for the money beforehand. BOY, WAS SHE WRONG ABOUT THE INSURANCE! They overcharged me by over $100. I asked for the money back and it took A WHOLE MONTH for me to get the money back. I had to call twice just to get a refund form submitted for the money. And then it took a couple more weeks to get the money back. Unfortunately because of this, I don't think I will go there again despite the truly lovely dentist and staff.

I was referred to this dentist office since the VA was really tight on appointments. I was greeted with a nice hello and welcome from the front desk staff. The office was clean and comfy. The staff member Jacob escorted me to my modern dentist room and he was really polite. When it's your first visit one tends to be nervous and anxious. Jacob's customer service was excellent, so I felt like things were going to be alright. Then Emily came in and took x-rays and she was very nice also. She explained I could watch TV gave me the remote, chatted a little and off she went. After being there for a little while this dentist office has a process and everyone plays their part to get the patient in and out as fast as possible but I noticed that they will not skip on the quality set by the management. I could appreciate that! Now these last two dental professionals we like a tag team, Dr. Christian and Amy. All the prep by the staff I mentioned earlier were for these two. Doctor Christensen explained everything and she took her time to explain the process and made sure I was in no pain. In minutes she was done and then Amy came in to wrap up the visit. Dr. Christensen is very professional and also personable. Overall I had a great first experience and I recommend this dentist office to anyone who is like me that has anxiety to dental visits. I hope they keep up the good work.⭐

I'm astounded by the apathy I've been treated with from their administrative people. My first appointment, I sat in the front door 45 minutes past my appointment and not one of the three people sitting at the front bothered to say anything as to why I've been waiting so long. Three other people came in after me and we're seen within minutes. I had to go to the front desk and ask what was taking so long. Finally someone went back to see what was going on. Weird, they called me right back after that. Then, I needed to have additional work done that needed paperwork sent to the va for that to occur. The first week they didn't send it, they said the donorctor was too busy to sign it. Now going on three weeks, it still hasn't been sent. I've called to find out what was going on and no one will call me back. I called today to tell them not to bother sending the paperwork because I'll be going somewhere else and they couldn't have cared less. The disrespect is infuriating and I wish I could give them negative stars. They probably have a problem with disabled veterans. Never give this place your business. Edit: the fact that I'm the only review they haven't responded to, speaks volumes. Everything they did was clearly intentional. Now I'm curious if the owner is complicit because I'm sure they get review notifications also. Either way, good riddance to this horrible business.

My appointment was at 11:30am they took me in at 12:10pm it was 1:15pm and the person who was supposed to do my cleaning left to lunch!!!! I haven’t had my teeth cleaned!!!! This is ridiculous! Two dentists saw my mouth and neither told me anything about my bite being jacked up until I told them that the dentist in Mexico told me that my bite was messed up! I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy! I will definitely let my insurance company know so they don’t use them! And then they wanted to know if I wanted to “reschedule”. Why the hell does the person supposedly going to clean my teeth go to lunch and then expect me to sit here and wait for them to eat? Why schedule me if they cannot take care of a patient? HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!!! It is 1:20pm my appointment was at 11:30AM and I’m still waiting for someone to clean my teeth!!! Completely unacceptable!!! STAY AWAY from this place!

I had an appointment in July of last year for a root canal and other services I paid the bill in advance which they required - over $600 plus what my insurance paid. They did not finish all the work on the prepaid plan because the dentist “got too busy to finish that day” the office was full of loud rock music so that the reception staff had to lean out service window to hear and people had been so heavily sedated they were going in and out in wheel chairs. The assistant that tried to take off the temporary cap actually cemented like it was permanent the tooth had to be repaired at another dentist office. Now a year later they have sent a bill for $24 because it was quite enough. No attempt was made to complete the prepaid services only an attempt to explain why they were “sure they did”. I think you are taking a chance with you dental health and your finances by going to this location

DO NOT COME HERE. This place is the epitome of insurance exploitation, now confirmed with two separate visits. If you schedule a cleaning, they will use that opportunity to waste your time and create the most comprehensive and unnecessary estimate that will squeeze every possible cent out of you possible. I suspect this is encouraged behavior to the office staff (not the dentists who are professional and courteous), the same way you are recommended additional services when you get an oil change. If you decline their estimate, they will suddenly not be interested in helping you get what you actually came for. I feel bad for all the people that come in here and don’t have the strength to decline their over the top sales tactics and end up paying significantly more than what they had initially budgeted. Avoid at all costs.

My experience with Huebner Smiles was beyond EXCEPTIONAL! I have been to a few dental offices over the years so I am “familiar” with the process but the amazing staff here made me feel like I was a VIP on my very first visit! From checking-in to my appointment (they have forms they send you in advance so you don’t waste anytime prior to your visit!!), to once they called me back— I got a tour of the office which made me feel comfortable, the assistant was super nice and informative. Jenny answered a lot of questions and provided great insight. Dr Bustos and Lucio, hygienist were amazing as well. Terrific bedside manner from both of them. Truly the definition of what you want for your Overall Oral Care. I honestly can say that this is the first time I have ever said— ‘I can’t wait for my next visit to the dentist!’

Id give it one star but they got the other individuals in the waiting room in quickly. I showed up 15 mins early. And 20 mins after my appt still nothing. I wasnt told why I was waiting. Just theyd be with me "soon". I may be an impatient person or something. I also provided my insurance details multiple times before the appointment and had to give the information again when I arrived. Lastly, I dont know if being a new patient had anything to do with this, but an explination was never provided. It does seem, based on other reviews, people love this place. Perhaps my experience was a fluke. One weird thing to mention is there is alcohol sitting out for individuals to drink while they wait? Why are you providing customers with complimentary alcohol? In my opinion not my type of place.

Justine R. was very helpful and informative about the process of transitioning to a new dentist. She helped me find out if I could transfer to Huebner Smiles, by checking with my insurance company and informing me about the cleaning services. She set me up with an appointment that worked with my schedule perfectly. Ricardo was my hygienist and he not only did a great job with my cleaning process, he also helped calm my nerves since I was nervous about being in a new office with new hygienist and dentist. He reassured me that I would have the best care and made sure I was comfortable throughout the whole process. I highly recommend Huebner Smiles, Justine and Ricardo for all your dental needs.

I've been coming to this place for years and I've never had a bad experience with them. All of the staff I've interacted with have been nice, helpful, and professional. I had two crowns put in today and both Dr. Christiansen and her assistant Rosa were fantastic. They were very friendly, nice to talk to, and were happy to answer all of my questions. It was painless, they did everything to make sure the temporary crown fit comfortably, and that I was satisfied with the result. I would highly recommend Huebner Smiles to anyone. You can even watch TV or a movie to help keep your mind occupied during the visit.

I received good treatment and response time while I made my initial payments but once i paid off the balance my experience has horrible. My treatment went from 2 years to 3. Getting treatment on a timely manner is impossible. They change ortho days last minute. I've been waiting on a call back for a 1 1/2 months. I realized i just threw $5,000 in the trash. I decided to take the lost and find a reliable denist office. Becareful with Huebner Smiles and Align dental, They start nice and caring until you pay all your money then you are a second thought.

Excellent experience at Huebner smiles! I was able to do all my paper work ahead of my appointment. As soon as I walked in Skylar took me back to the exam room. No wait! She was great with making me comfortable when taking x-rays, I've had pain with the film other dentist offices use. Ricardo did my cleaning and was great! He was fast and did an excellent job. Dr. Goldwyn came in to talk to me during my exam and was so easy to talk to with a great personality. I don't see any reason to go anywhere else!

I started with this practice when they opened and was very happy. Since, however, they have changed my dentist with no notice or explanation and I’ve been treated like cattle. The dentist was insulting and the hygienist put flouride in half my mouth and had to be told she’d missed half. Now I’m trying to get my medical records and can’t even get an answer to my phone calls, much less my medical records. I will be filing a HIPPA complaint, but I gather they could care less. This practice is terrible.

Best dental experience I’ve ever had, and I’m a weenie about dental visits. Called on a Sunday morning for an emergency appointment and they were able to see me that afternoon. I was long overdue for a checkup and as such had several problem areas, but Dr. Bustos and the technician David focused on the one that was causing my pain. I was in and out and pain free in 90 minutes. Definitely going to make them my new dentist and get everything back on track. Receptionist was also great. Thanks guys!

i had to have an emergency extraction and they took me right away. i saw dr christensen and George. they did a bone graft, and while it was uncomfortable, it wasn't painful at all! afterwards, George went over all the dr's instructions, and was extremely thorough in explaining everything to me. i didn't have any swelling or pain. the office staff was extremely nice and courteous. will definitely be going back to continue my dental health, and highly recommend them!

Dr. Walker is absolutely amazing!! She is so kind and caring, and really ensures that you are comfortable during your visit! George was her dental assistant today, and he is so easy to talk to. The two other assistants I’ve had before were also super sweet, they make me feel like I’m more than just a patient! I’ve never been to a dentist like this before, and I’m never going anywhere else! They make you feel calm, comfortable, and informed during your whole visit.

I made an appointment with this place for a root canal and my overall experience was just terrible. After the procedure there were many complications with the crown they placed and with getting a hold of them to fix the issues. Lastly they told me I paid everything in full and I was good to go, but they randomly charged me $39 a month later and couldn't give me a straight answer as to what I was paying the $39 for. I would not recommend this place to anyone!

Hubner smiles has been my go-to dentist in San Antonio. I tried different places but Hubner smiles is the best. The office is clean and looks brand new, the staff is very friendly and its easy to make appointments. Ive had a great experience with all the dental hygienist and dentist that practice. They take time to explain everything and make sure I am comfortable.

I have always had awful dental anxiety but I’ve been here now twice and everyone is so nice and welcoming. I spoke to Judy on the phone prior to my first visit and she was incredibly kind and understanding. Dr. Patel and Devin ensure I understand the information that is provided to me. I definitely recommend this office to anyone!

I was a new patient who needed a crown replacement. Dr Christiansen and staff did a great job of removing my old, broken crown, sending off digitally my crown meaurements to the lab, and then giving me a temporary crown. And, the price was hundreds of dollars less than another dentist was going to charge me. Pretty good stuff!

Emily and Ricardo are WONDERFUL!!! From the moment my name was called, I felt very taken care of. Emily explained everything step by step while setting me up for my cleaning and made me feel so welcomed. Ricardo understood my needs and guided me throughout my cleaning, making sure I felt comfortable every step of the way!

Been coming to this practice for nearly a year now, they’ve been so welcoming, and helped my husband get set up on a reasonable treatment plan after years of not getting work done.
