I have been going to this Practice the Huisartsen Reguliersgracht since 1985, first Dr Tol, then Dr van Zoest and then my longest and the very best doctor, W. Van Kernebeek, who really does care. I was very pleased with all my appointments with Wim at Huisartsenpraktijk Reguliersgracht. The Patient service, by him, is second to none. Outstanding service. I’d been going for years and always dealt with Wim. I was obese and got arthritis, diabetes and he helped me through all these. He can be a hard critic of being self indulgent and non assistance to helping yourself and he knows exactly what to do and say to get you to the right place. Combine this with his positive attitude, he put the options in front of me. I can keep doing what I’m doing and possibly die young or do something and live a healthier, happier and hopefully longer life. His care made me feel that I was in safe hands and even makes me smile. Wim has played a major role in my life changing, lifestyle change, I lost 68kg and now have no underlying illnesses. He’s a master doctor, I am truly grateful. I appreciated his follow-up and willingness to answer questions. My only criticism of the practice is the receptionists are like so strict on gate keeping and rarely if ever put you through to the dr and never forward messages on and you can’t email the dr directly, but just get the front desk and blocked. I don’t like their appointment system and their waiting room, apart from change of seats every five years, there’s been no change in 35 years. But you go for the dr not the overbearing far to serious front desk team or the building. The Dr is brilliant once you get past the iron curtain, called reception. It has been my huisarts for the past three years, but I am going to change. Some reasons for my complaint: - First time I visited, it was 3 years ago. I had been having severe pain on my lower back. The doctor recommended me to do some sports and start swimming. Not even one exam, X-ray, MRI, nothing... Three months later, while on holidays I decide to check the problem in Portugal. I find out I have two hernias on my lowest vertebrae. - This beginning of the year, after some visits I kept insisting with the doctor that I had constant severe pain on my lower abdomen, and stomach, aggravated after eating, persisting already for 3 months. She kept insisting that it might be something that I ate and gave me a prescription for nutritionist! On a further appointment, I decide to come back because pain persists. A lot of insisting and finally after I told her that both my grandfathers had died from stomach cancer, she reluctantly accepted to check for H.Pylori. I had told her that I was in India 6 months ago, and I wanted to check for parasites, but she still refused to check that. Lucky me, I decided to had the cross for parasites in the papers, right before delivering in OLVG, just to find out a week later that I had two types of parasites, one of them quite dangerous, a severe infection on my colon and active H. Pylori. I am glad I put that cross on my own!! In general, I got fed up with having to make them believe in my symptoms. Why should I have to insist on having a exam to check what's going on behind my symptoms? This is poor medicine, specially having they telling me all the time to take paracetamol or ibuprofen, to "fix" my issues. Enough is enough! I definitely do not recommend.

Been attending the clinic for some years and it has been a Russian roulette. Doctors are qualified to read a screen and act on behalf of interests of the system and insurance policies, not patient’s actual needs based on clinical history and previous examinations. Incompetent when it comes to looking into major health issues to a point that they are negligent and do not request any sort of further investigation thru imaging exams. Patient goes back home with pain and a recommendation to take paracetamol and call back if it doesn’t get better. Yet, you’ve been for over 2 months in pain trying to live a normal life.

This was my first experience with a Dutch doctor. It went really bad after weeks of stomach pain I arrange an appointment here, she didn’t do any exam, prescribed me Omeprazol (which didn’t make any different at all) then I asked her if she could check my nose as I am having trouble sleeping and breathing again she gave me a quick fix and said she couldn’t look any further because the 5 minutes where over. I waited 10 minutes in the reception while the doctor was alone at the office, still she didn’t have time to actually do anything. Really bad experience I don’t recommend it!

I've been to three different doctors here over the years, seeking help with different issues. All quite bad experiences, the last one the worst, of not wanting to get to the bottom of things and only offering a "quick fix", or no solution at all. When wanting help to figure out why I'm getting sick with colds very often (1-2/month) the only comment is that my immune system works fine according to blood tests and that I can rinse my nose with salt water? No follow up questions or guidance. Will definitely seek help elsewhere.

Twee jaar geleden kwam ik bij deze praktijk, waar ik me zelfs op had verheugd.. Ik waardeerde de artsen, maar al snel bleek dat ik in twee jaar vijf artsen zag komen en gaan. Ik houd ervan een vertrouwensband op te bouwen. Mijn besluit om weg te gaan, was dat ik het ingewikkeld vond worden.Met name de assistente, die ik brutaal vond. Ik hoorde later van andere patiënten dezelfde klacht. Het bracht meer stress en onzekerheid teweeg. Jammer.Het schijnt een algemeen probleem te zijn onder de artsen; dat komen en gaan.

The doctors are OK, but the assistents, at least one of them. Wow, the rudest ever!! They are sending bills to my insurance company even though I am not a patient with them anymore and when I called to find out why, they said, they have no idea and rudely hung up. Not even an effort is made to find out what's happenning!! The assistant is full of herself and does not even understand what it means to be an assistent.

Eerder wel een oké ervaring gehad tot dat ik een tijdje terug naar de huisarts ging. Voelde me totaal niet serieus genomen "je hoeft je niet zo zorgen te maken joh" werd mij op een vrij cynische en kleinerende toon verteld. Verder was het hele gesprek toen heel onpersoonlijk en merkte geen motivatie om mijn klachten te verhelpen. Ik ben van huisarts gewisseld.

Ik wacht nog even m'n laatste medische behandeling af en ga dan op zoek naar een nieuwe arts. Het gebeurt me hier veel te vaak dat een probleem wordt afgeschreven als iets dat niet ernstig is of wel over gaat maar door specialisten (na heel veel aandringen op een verwijzing) wordt gezien als iets wat veel sneller behandeld had kunnen worden.

Ik ben erg tevreden over deze praktijk. Flexibel qua inloopspreekuur en afspraken. Daarnaast zijn zowel ik als mijn zoontje goed en adequaat geholpen in de eerste maanden na de geboorte bij een paar gezondheidsproblemen waar we tegen aanliepen. Ik raad deze praktijk zeker aan.

The doctor spent literally 5 minutes with me and charged me 50 euros in cash only. The sleep medicine he prescribed me made me vomit and worsened my insomnia. Very disappointed with the care here. Do not waste your time or money here. I wish I never went here.
