I tried to go there yesterday as I was in the area and was sad to see the building empty. Have they moved or completely shut down? I can't find anything onlinr. I have not been there in a long time, since before covid and thought I'd pop in as I am out of a few spices and stuff. I didn't notice anything on the door but again I didn't get out of the car once I saw it was empty thru the windows. Really disheartening to see all these small businesses closing down

Easily why - Because they have European style food from our country, Because the salami are tasty, Because sausages are yummy, Because the European style baggets or baked pastry are amazing, Because they have our sweets, which we love, Because they also have baking pouder, pudding or KOFOLA and Because the service is fantastic and we feel like at home and always welcome in this shop. One of the best Calgary gems if you are looking for European homemade deli products. You will find delicious salamis, sausages, several kinds of bacon & much more! Homemade pork cracklings (cvarki) and scones made with cracklings are heavenly. Last time I got them still worm from the oven! I love burek (delicate pastry with variety of fillings). If you like to explore ethnic food, give it a try! You will not regret it!

This is the absolute best deli I have been to in calgary. I also like Deningers in Hamilton. Hungarian Deli has all the foods I ate as a child especially sour kraut cabbage rolls and Horka and walnut and poppy seed rolls. My favourite csabai. We kids pronounced it chub-eye-eh. Gone in 30 minutes. How grateful I am to have this fantastic store with fantastic staff a quick walk from my home.

Always great! Homemade selection of deli (best sausages and Hungarian salami in town). Very high quality pantry items (jams, pickle, noodles, sweets) and European condiments. Beverages and spreads...everything but produce. Great cheese and feta. Since discovering this place, I refuse to buy Heinz and grocery deli. The ladies that work there are fantastic.

I moved to Calgary about 18 months ago but since I live in lower Mount Royal with no car this was my first visit. Overall I have found food shopping in Calgary pretty disappointing, but this store is just what I hoped for. Friendly happy service and all the products I wanted even plum dumplings (szilvas gomboc) and poppy seed baigli. What a pleasure.

The selection of smoked meats are great, they are so delicious. They also have cheeses, spices, dry goods, and a ton of sweets and snacks. They have Hungarian food items, but also a large variety of other European foods too. As with many specialty delis, they are expensive. It is in line with my expectations however. I like to go there as a treat.

If you are in Balkan food and Eastern European food then this is the place to check out. This is a grocery store with large meat and smoked meat section. Smoked and roasted meat everywhere and really really good This is also a great place to buy sweet bonbons and cookies . And to my surprise they are so friendly that you don't want to leave store

This place is excellent, never ever have I had bad deli, traditional as it can be in Canada....and the pickled cabbage heads make the most incredible Hungarian cabbage rolls,just add chunks of the double smoked bacon and pieces of the letcho sausages......and don't forget to ask about the pork crackling......like frikkin candy

By far my favourite little deli in the city. The only place I can every find Szaloncukor during the holidays. Run by a great team and a small family; I miss the Bakery they had (RIP to the wonderful husband), but whomever the baker they have in the store now is does very well. I hope this store stays for a long time to come!!

What a great little store. The bag of fried bacon bites is so good. Along with the in house made salami and farmer sausage. Much better than the stuff at the grocery store deli. I've only been here a couple times now but I will definitely continue going.

Great deli! Absolutely love this place! My mom is Hungarian and we spent many summers in Hungary growing up so being able to go to this deli and get amazing Hungarian salami, treats, or breads makes me feel right at home. ❤ You have to check it out!

It’s nice deli. But they don’t have what I need. It’s not 100 percentage Hungarian foods and spices and more. They use another countries in Europe. There’s some of Hungarian products not too many. Wish they have more Hungarian.

I stopped by while taking a break in Calgary and picked up some Gypsy sausage. Very good sausage, top quality. This store has a very good selection of smoked meats, cheese and packaged imported products. A great place.

My boyfriend introduced me to this place and ever since then I look forward visiting the Deli. Love getting the sausages, back bacon, fried pork, Kremes, Bunica mustard, liver pate... just to list a few.

Great place to pick up hungarian sausage smoked meat and many other things. Some staff are very helpful others well kind of grumpy. New store ok but liked other one better more friendly atmosphere.

I live in the condos near this deli and have been in often. It's a gem. I can't accurately explain how wonderful the neighbourhood smells when you guys are smoking meat. Yum.

A go to place for in house made paprika and a cured and smoked baked pork rib offering that is made fresh a few times a week. Amazing. Authentic Hungarian experience!
