I went there Wednesday November 23rd, thanksgiving eve, for a quick dinner by myself. It was 6:30pm: I walked in greeted the hostess and told her it was just me for dinner. She didn’t greet me back ( first red flag) but instead she told me that they are closing at 7pm so I wouldn’t have enough time to dine in. I told her it was just 6:30pm as I was surprised to why they were closing that early, I assume because of thanksgiving the next day. She insisted that they were closing early but I told her that I still want to dine in and told her that I know what I’m getting anyway. She said ok but that I’ll need to hurry and order. I told her no problem as long as my server comes fast I will order right away. So my server came and the same, she told me the same thing about the hours and that they were about to close so I should place my order quickly. I then placed my order. As I was waiting for my food, I was chocked to see that the doors were still open and groups of people kept on walking in and being seated. So obviously I felt like I’m the one that wasn’t supposed to be let in. I was boiling inside and felt unwelcome. I had to rush to order and eat my food thinking that the restaurant was soon closing. My server never came to check on me or anything. I called her and asked for my bill. I paid and left. This was my worst experience at a restaurant ever. I really felt discriminated for the first time. I left at 7:20 and people were still coming in. As I was leaving I questioned the hostess about it and she told me that they had just changed the hours that’s why people are come in. I was even more surprised. So just like that, you are back to regular business hours. WOW. It was then clear that I was definitely the problem. If you are a black person just know that this may happen to you. I wish I could give them zero star for the service that I received.

The hostess was super welcoming, we wanted to sit outside and it was a cute enough location. We went during the lunch hour rush and were expecting maybe to have wait a bit but the food came out in a timely manner. I ordered the salmon and it was very good. It was accompanied by rice which was ok but the they that came along as well were delicious so it balanced the plate out perfectly. I also decided to try one of the natural drinks and the green drink is one of my favorites of all times now it was so smooth. We also ordered the penne pasta with Italian sausage and that was sooo good! The sauce was for sure the star of the show, so much so that I would order that plate again without the sausage and it would still be amazing. The sausage was ok, I didn’t like the texture and it personally lacked some flavor to me compared to other Italian sausages. I don’t recall the name of the other drink we ordered but it was very refreshing and it has what seemed to be strings of cucumber insider which, I liked because it make the drink look unique and I liked the texture of it. Some might not like if since the chunks can come through the straw but I liked it and didn’t mind them at all. We will back for sure.

Absolutely great tasting food. My friend got a burger and fries and enjoyed both. I had a fusion bowl. The waitress asked if we wanted recommendations. We wanted to hear what's the popular choice. I was asking for vegetarian and vegan options in particular. She then brought me a second menu from the restaurant next door. Since they are both under the same chain you can order from either place to the other. That was absolutely fantastic. Finally more options for vegetarians in social gatherings. Love the concept. The food tasted great. Prices are great too.

Vegetarian options
Offers vegan and vegetarian options. You can actually also order from the vegan restaurant next door from this place. They are apparently under the same chain and that was absolutely great for a mixed group of omnivorea and vegans.
Dietary restrictions
Plenty vegan options. Gluten free as well, I think.
Parking
Not a lot of parking options in the front. Maybe on the back?

It has been too long sense our last visit to the Memorial Dr location. Still the same great food and friendly service as always. The tables and booths have been arranged to accommodate the COVID protocols. We started going to this location after moving out to the West Side of Houston and we are glad we found it. The Rice Village location is great but it is a long drive for us people that live in Katy. We have enjoyed the patio seating several times in the past but the inside seating was very inviting during our 100 degree Summer we are currently having. The staff was very accommodating and eager to please. We have always found the restaurant to be very clean and an inviting place to dine. If you have not ever tried Hungry's we would suggest you do so. We have not ever gone to the Sunday Buffett, but understand it will not disappoint you. And more good news, if you have been avoiding that part of Memorial Drive because of all the road construction, you will be pleasantly surprised as to how easy it is to navigate Memorial Drive again.

I apologize, I did type something up, but not sure why it did not post initially. We have been coming to this restaurant for years, and have always been impressed by the quality of the food and service. Our last two visits have been so disappointing. At one visit, the water we were served smelled/tasted absolutely awful. The server brought us water 'from a different faucet' which was fine, but it was a little concerning that the first batch was so foul. Our food that visit was mediocre at best. Our last visit, our server could not be bothered. I had to get up three times to find him after much waiting, to get more water, get our bill, etc. My daughter's food came our much, much later than everyone else and neither of my kids' meals looked fresh at all. At one point I got up an approached another server to ask about a to-go box. Without a word, she pointed to a shelf like "get it yourself" and continued to chat with her coworkers. Made us so sad because this place has always been a favorite!

Alright...so I’ve been to Hungry’s in Rice Village and fell in love with the place. Thought I’d give the Memorial location a try for brunch. My daughter eats vegan, so she was able to order from a couple of options for the day. (There are choices for each day of the week). She ordered the Seitan steak. I ordered Migas and bacon (a little too greasy for my taste) and the blackberry and ginger margarita, which was actually very, very good. My husband ordered the tenderloin tacos. Also very good. I actually think I’ll get them next time I go. As far as the Migas go, they were pretty ok...just way more tortillas than eggs. I usually get Migas from Black Walnut and it’s a lot of EVERYTHING. It was raining, so we couldn’t enjoy outside seating, but we had a comfortable booth indoors. Music selection was depressing, but otherwise we enjoyed the visit overall. However, I think I’ll continue going to Rice Village location. By the way, our server (Ignacio) was very nice.

This restaurant was suggested by my friends. It did not disappoint. Only issue is that with as many physically challenged patrons, there were only 2 handicapped space that I saw. The same cars were still there after we left. We started with the baked goat cheese. We are a party of 5. I would suggest offering more bread so we wouldn’t have to ask for more. Not a problem though. We had the beef bahn mi, the burger , cauliflower crust pizza , crab Benedict, and child spaghetti. Everyone was happy with their meal, except for the Benedict. My friend felt it was a bit mushy.‍♂️ We had the lava cake and mousse cake. Thank you for the wonderful brunch.

Varied menu, good food, lovely wait staff! Some of the party was vegan and all were healthy eaters, and there were enough dishes that out "specialty" eaters had choices. A comfortable atmosphere, but I suggest dressing nice-casual. The restaurant is pricey, but the portions are large and the dishes were well-prepared. Hungry's is a long-time and well-known place in Houston, and I'd eat there again!

After years of being away, this is a tried and true establishment for the area, but the prices have certainly gone up (naturally), by maybe $3-4/dish. We got a couple of our old standbys: the gyro+fries and the black bean soup and wedge salad. Hummus, too. Did not disappoint. All still seemed like the same recipes. They now offer some vegan dishes, but were not in the mood. Waiter recommended the bread pudding a la mode. Not quite the dense bread pudding we were expecting, but was like light, airy cinnamon bread in a skillet. Actually appreciated that more as we would have been stuffed otherwise. Ambience and decor felt a bit more modern classy than before. Lots of business folks there for lunch, but even mid afternoon some local high schoolers showed up, so a mix of casual thrown in.

  • Bill Wiltse

Had a terribly disappointing experience all around unfortunately. Ordered a bacon Chipotle cheeseburger, medium. Received a plain, well done burger and greasy, undercooked fries. Our waitress never showed back up after dropping off our food and we had to ask another server to go get her. They offered to remake the burger and I did eventually receive it, but it was still badly overcooked. The flavor was admittedly nice and the manager did comp my meal which was appreciated. However that unfortunately couldn't make up for the awful service. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be back.

Great service, not so clean restaurant. Saw a roach walking around in the back. Prob an outside one? Anywho, drinks are boring. They have a happy hour on weekdays. The food was not so bad but simple home cooked American meals. They do a really good Chicken fried steak. The garlic mashed potatoes taste garlicy, alil too clumpy for my liking but the flavors were there. The green beans were boring. But Im not a fan of them. The chilan sauce thing on top of the chicken was really tasty. The weird garlic toast is too much I think and makes it taste cheap but price is not lol. Really great service. They were kind.

Awesome for vegans! The regular menu has 6 vegan dishes, but when I got there, the waiter asked if I wanted to see the vegan menu. Um, yes! It had at least ten more options, including a mushroom "cheesesteak." I opted for the crispy eggplant curry bowl. It was so good I thought about going back for dinner. I still want that cheesesteak.

We came here for a group brunch. They have a typical American breakfast menu. I ordered the chicken and waffles and a turmeric juice. The chicken and waffles were mediocre. The tenders were crispy but not what you're looking for in fried chicken. The waffle was nowhere near what a Belgian waffle should be but I guess the menu never said Belgian waffle so can't knock them for that. Overall mediocre food. It's nice they have some healthy juice options but wish they weren't topped off with so much sparkling water. I probably wouldn't come back here.

Went here for a first date and found it quite enjoyable. It had been years since I had been here. I had the shrimp tacos and my date had the Grateful Fusion Bowl. The service was great, and they left us to talk and get to know each other while also being attentive as wait staff at all the right points. I will definitely be coming back here since it’s close to where I work.

The food is great -- as it's always been -- but the atmosphere is a bit "run down" nowadays. The restrooms, in particular, need a "refreshing". And the attention to the "dining experience" could also benefit from a refresher course. I witnessed an employee carrying 7-8 empty plastic "milk jugs" through the main dining area during the peak of the lunch hour -- not really condusive to a business lunch or lunch meeting of any sort. In a word, the Hungary's atmosphere is a bit in need of repair.

I'd love to give more stars, but this restaurant just seemed a little off. I wanted breakfast, but the migas is prepped and so they can't take out or specialize it for you. The shrimp tacos I finally went with were yummy but not what my tast buds were looking for. My friend has to continue to give instructions on her food as well. Our waiter was very nice through it all, ut it just seemed like too much!!! Now ... my flight of mimosas was nicely priced and super yummy so the bartender gets all the stars!!!

Our waitress (Kellyn I think it was) was so helpful and sweet! We ordered the Spinach Artichoke Dip, the Crab Cakes Eggs Poached (but I ordered the eggs as fried), the Pepperoni Mushroom Pizza, and a Frozé. Everything was okay, but there was nothing that stood out as excellent. The side salad with the crab cakes had no dressing on it which kind of makes you choke it down. The hollandaise was kind of bland and the bread underneath it was a little hard. Everything else was not really anything to rave about. I'll definitely try to go back to see if they were just having a off day. But thank you Kellyn for being awesome!

  • Bill McIver

A little pricey for the small amount of food that you get. The tuna tar tar is pretty much ahipoki and served with guacamole and chips, but for $18+ dollars you should get more than 4 to 6 chip bites of tuna. Overall the food was decent but again for the cost to proportion ratio I most likely will not be returning to this establishment. Staff was about the best thing they have going.

It was a perfect stop for a late afternoon lunch. I ordered shrimp tacos and my friend ordered a chicken ciabatta sandwich. We were both pleased with our choices and our server was very polite and attentive. The only thing that fell flat was the chocolate molten cake. The cake was not sweet. It was more muffin like.

Crab cakes for breakfast? Yes please! And that's just to start. We were in town just got the weekend and stumbled on Hungry's. If it is any indication to you, we ended up having breakfast here both days. Day 1: strawberry and raspberry mimosas, the prosciutto and caramelized pineapple pizza, chicken and waffles, and the baked goat cheese appetizer. Day 2: baked goat cheese and chicken and waffles again, with a strawberry lemonade and the crab cakes. Both days were excellent, no regrets.

Good food. Ok prices. Ok service. My salad was wonderful! Although hubby’s beef kabob has great flavors, it was dry, it was really chewy. Good portion for the price. Service could be better. Did not refill drinks and did not check on us, but she got all the tweaks in the orders right! GF (gluten “friendly”) icon on the menu is a bit misleading. They serve everything with 2 slices of pita bread and it is not GF. As long as you don’t eat that, I guess you’re fine.

I had breakfast this morning at Hungry's on Memorial and it was not great. I had the chicken and waffle and it was not worth the high price. The menu stated that maple syrup would be served with the waffle, but it is not real maple syrup. This was so disappointing. The chicken was okay, but I could not enjoy the waffle as the syrup they used was not good. If you are going to state maple syrup on the menu, then it should be REAL maple syrup. Will not return!

We went here last Saturday (9/16/2023). Ordered Honey glazed salad and a salad. The Salmon on firm and overcooked. For an expensive dish like such, we would expect perfection every time. Also, the ceiling was leaking. Service was just okay. Would not recommend. Was disappointed overall.

The food is good but the customer service could sure use some help. The whole entire time I sat at my table our waitress only acknowledge us 3 times and from there we had to kept asking other servers for beverage refills and condiments etc but yet she wanted to be attentive when it was time for the tab. That is not acceptable customer service, please retrain your staff on what is proper customer service. For us to have sat there for nearly 20 minutes before we where acknowledge is just bad service.

This restaurant is one of our favorites in this area. We often go there on Sundays after mass, because we go to the church next door. Great for brunch and they have a lot of healthy menus. They have egg and salad specialties, ... Their mimosa is also a definite must (different flavors). It's a very popular place, especially for special occasions (birthdays, mother's day, father's day, ...). But they have enough places because you can even sit outside, there is a big bungalow on the exterior.

  • Adriana McKinney

Absolutely love this place for healthy options. Tomato soup is my favorite option on the menu. Have not had one bad things here. Love the salmon avocado toast for brunch and if you like hummus their beet hummus is something I tried here for the first time and have gotten each time. Last thing, they have great fresh mint tea.

I just ate here for a late lunch. They have joined with heartbeet Nextdoor. I had the fusion bowl with tofu, my mom had the smoked salmon avocado toast, and my friend had the beef tenderloin salad. We started off with the snickers trio. All three dished were amazing and huge! I don’t leave reviews at restaurants but this place was worth it. Definitely coming back. Y’all know how I feel about salmon. And if you don’t then let me to you. You know that salmon that just flakes and makes your fork feel like the sharpest knife in the world? O and that salmon that’s drizzled in ginger and garlic and moist every bite? Ya that’s what makes my heart fall in love and hungrys salmon is love at first sight. I forgot to take a pic before I almost devoured it so excuse the half eaten photo. Thank you hungrys!!

I'm so glad I found this restaurant! I plan on working my way through the vegan and vegetarian selections of the menu. They offer a ride variety of food. This "was" the wood-stone cauliflower crust Margherita pizza. The empty plate above the pizza was an incredible house salad with pecans... OMG house salad is a must. BTW service is on point!!! Excellent, friendly service, clean tables and restroom. Patio seating is wonderful.

We dined with friends on the patio. It was a little warm but tolerable. Fans/misters would help. Spouse and I shared a salad and pizza with cauliflower crust (add $3). In hindsight, it neither said keto or low carb so probably wasn't in our diet. Salad was so-so. Service was friendly and fairly prompt. Not too busy on a Sunday night.

Yeah, I left out of there feeling hungry. Ordered traditional breakfast, everything was wet and oily, could barely finish it, the water glass we had, had awful brown stains on the glass itself, it was just a dirty place. Atmosphere is fine if you're on a lunch break, but hard pass.

  • Hi There

Food and customer service is always good here. I usually have the "Vegan Cowboy" and it's so delicious that even my non-vegan friends love it. Great place to grab a delicious fast lunch or even an excellent setting for family gatherings. The bar next door is perfect for after dinner drinks. Valet parking is also a plus !!!

4 stars only because of the slow service. 2 other tables were served before me even though I arrived first. I had do actually say something before I was brought water. Nevertheless when the food finally arrived it was amazing.

Service was slow. Quiet evening. Very clean and once we got service it was great! We had the spinach artichoke dip and goat cheese spread! Delicious. I had the Burger and home cut fries for my meal. Very tasty and good portion for your buck. Nice to get out and felt safe eating out.

We had a wonderful time. The specialty drinks were tasty and food was yummy. Our waitress made us feel like we were the most important guests.

Amazing staff! Stayed late while we chatted, didn't even realize they were supposed to have closed 30min before we left!! Also made an amazing burger full of questionable delicious things (upon request, there was an adventurous one)! It's The Ross, it has hummus, try it!

I’d say that my favorite dish so far is the honey ginger salmon served with vegetables and a very delicious rice, definitely is a more healthy option, but OMG what stole my heart was the pita bread the place has a chill vibe and staff is on top of their customers …

"Burgers to die for" The menu is complete. I haven't had an item on their menu that I didn't like. Give their Bistro Chipotle Burger a try, you'll be glad you did. Nice people, always smiling, give to a very pleasant experience.

I love the set up with Hungry's and its sister (vegan) restaurant, Heartbeet Cafe, next door. My family can sit outside and order from both menus. Everyone can get what they need/want and be happy. Brilliant.

The food was very flavorful and tasty. I enjoyed my Gyro plate however the herb rice was a little too dry but overall I enjoyed my lunch experience here. The only issue was the service which was kinda slow!
