Duane, Mitch, Jaz and Siggi are a winning team who really care about the customer. I’ve known Duane since 2008 and he’d alway been a class act, even when I chose to sell through a different Real Estate agent at that time. Many property transactions later, I promised myself I would give Duane a go this time around selling my house in North Narrabeen. This was my sixth property transaction and I must admit, my experience with Duane and his team was the best decision I’ve ever made. A friend of mine came to my house during an open home, and she said, observing Duane and team during an open home was impressive in terms of the whole team on site, ready to answer any questions and observing my privacy at all times, Duane never disclosed why I was selling whereas some Real Estate agents will divulge personal information about the seller that they should not be sharing with the public. I’ll never forget my first open house, I was under the pump and did not feel prepared. I wanted to pull out at the last minute however Mitch came over to help me get everything over the finishing line, including picking up my dogs’ mess in the yard. Jaz is such a delightful young lady, proactive, professional and always cool under pressure. Jaz and Mitch managed my two tenants who lived in studios on site who also had to be coordinated for open homes. Duane is a genuine stand out in a profession that can be likened to ‘used car sales’. Duane is anything but that; he gives the profession a good name in my opinion. There is a sincerity about Duane that helps him connect with buyers and sellers on an emotional level that fosters mutual trust and respect. He is a very safe and capable set of hands to rely on, and I have never doubted his ethics. Duane is well known and loved in our community. You just know when you are in his presence that you are dealing with a good human being, who is passionate about property and helping people achieve their goals. I knew I would not be disappointed choosing Hunter Real Estate. I got the price I wanted, and a wonderful experience along the way.

Right from the start it was a great experience and process with Hunter Estate Agents. Duane has a fantastic team and it’s clear they really do work as a team. Before we put the home on the market, Duane provided great advice about how to get it ready for sale. That advice was invaluable. And once all the work was done, the Hunter team geared up quickly. Jazmin, Hunter’s sales & marketing coordinator, was an integral part of the whole process. She was an excellent conduit of information, provided a great list of suppliers to help us get our home ready for sale, and she gave us great guidance and timelines for the preparation and then sales process. Communication was outstanding. And when the sales campaign began, Duane gave us regular updates and feedback throughout. He was able to talk us through what the market was doing, how the open homes went and what people’s thoughts were on the home and also price estimations. We were doing everything remotely because we had already moved to the far North Coast, so we needed a little more ‘hand holding’ at times. The Hunter team regularly checked on the house and made sure everything was okay. They did an awesome job. We were in safe hands. Our home sold prior to auction and we are very happy with what Duane achieved, his excellent negotiation skills, and how smoothly everything went. I would not hesitate to recommend Duane and his team to sell a home. You’ll be in good hands.

We had a terrible experience with Hunter Estate agents. Steer clear unless you want to be “hunted” and very disappointed. The agent, by which the company bears its name, appears to be sincere on the outside but practices unethical behaviour and really only cares about his back pocket. We made an offer on a Friday on a house that was owned by overseas vendors. The agent called us back on a Monday evening and said that if we could agree to meet a higher price and other conditions (unconditional, waive cooling off etc) he had authority to sell the property to us. We agreed and he said “congratulations” and to send our solicitor’s details so we could pay the deposit and sign contracts first thing the next day. I wrote him an email confirming all of that. The next morning we never heard from him. I called and texted his mobile and office multiple times and he finally called us back at 1PM and told us he now had a higher offer and the vendors wanted to go with the other buyers. He also claimed that he never had authority to sell the property as he only had one vendor signature. Then he told us we had to have a higher offer within 10 minutes or they would sell to other party. In the end we got played and we lost out. No wonder this agency is all alone in their little geographical area. They clearly have no ethics or morals. Steer clear unless you want to be hunted and very disappointed.

Above and Beyond Expectation. We would like to Thank Maria and the Hunter Real Estate team for the amazing service we received over Easter. On Thursday afternoon our air conditioner stopped working. At around 8pm on the Thursday we sent an email to Maria advising her of the issue, expecting it to be attended to on the Tuesday after Easter. We were blown away when we received a personal reply acknowledging our email from Maria late on that Thursday night. On the Tuesday after Easter Maria called me to check on the issue. By 10am she had contacted the owners and got approval for the repairs and had the technician booked for the next day (Wednesday). The technician arrived on time and promptly fixed the problem and the air conditioner was working again. At 7pm that night we received a call from Maria to check that the repairs had been done and that they we were happy with the repairs. It is not often that you have the pleasure of dealing with someone so dedicated and professional as Maria.

All the advice that we were given was spot on – from the selling options and implications; the price range we could expect; on styling and presenting our home; the whole marketing campaign; managing the open for inspections and the clear verbal and written feedback from each; through to getting Vic Lorusso to run the auction so well. We were very pleased that we went with a local agent who not only knows our area so well, who made the whole process relatively painless, and made sure that we were comfortable with every decision along the way. Not only did he realise a suburb record price for our apartment; he did so whilst managing a triangle of intertwined vendors & purchasers. And he 'squared' this triangle off, by securing us a First Class rental in the area - which was a caveat of selling.
