I love Hy-Vee, I mainly go here rather than anywhere else for the fuel saver rewards, however, it gets very frustrating that the things that are advertised in store as having fuel saver, don't always ring up as such. Last night I went, and was supposed to get well over $.50 on my fuel saver, but my receipt showed $.05..... I'm used to missing like $.05 here and there (unfortunately..), and when I do, I end up having to email customer service about it, but last night was more than usual... Either way, it's a pain and I wish your systems would sync better, or whatever the problem is would get fixed Also, last week I was in, was purchasing some alcohol among my other items, and literally stood there for at least 10 min before any employees noticed that the red light on my self checkout lane was flashing. That's not an exaggeration. There were even other customers that said something about it before any employees noticed. I wouldn't mention it if they had actually been doing something or looking like they were working, but they were standing around gossiping...
Genuinely despise shopping here but the location is great. I DO NOT appreciate how the rent-a-cops and wannabe-managers sit there at the self-checkout and stare me down because I just wear whatever when I go to the grocery store. I'm sorry I didn't put on my suit and tie to go buy porkchops and milk. If you're so worried about people stealing from you, then, you know, pay somebody to ring up the purchases. Protip: If you treat your customers like criminals, they will act more like criminals. I take my money elsewhere these days. Aldi is right up Ambassador and Walmart and Target are just as close. Yeah, Walmart uses rent-a-cops but they're actual cops, not some clown in a vest that says "Hy-Vee Security" and thinks he's hot stuff because he eyeball'd some guy buying porkchops and milk. I don't have the solution to the self-checkout issue, but I can assure you that making your patrons feel like suspects is the worst possible way to do it.
We used to shop here all the time. They have really good produce and fresh meat. The staff is friendly, and the store is clean, but wow have things changed. We no longer shop at Hyvee because: * The prices have been raised so high that they are outright gouging on specific items, compared to other stores * The unique items we used to go there for, are now sold at other stores for lower prices * Their fuel discount program has been heavily modified, and seems to not be worth it anymore Do yourself a favor and open your eyes to other stores and pay attention to predatory pricing. For example, a very small bag of doritos is 4.99-5.99 at Hyvee. At Costco, you can get a bag three times larger for 6.99. They just seem to be jacking the prices up to where it doesn't make sense, even if its more convenient to walk into Hyvee, it's worth it to go somewhere else. They have lost our business beside maybe the occasional steak. Good luck Hyvee.
I LOVE Hy-Vee!! The people are always friendly and there’s almost always at least one in every aisle. I can shop in the store, have someone check me out, check myself out if I want it faster and I only have a few items, I can order online and pick up in a special area of the lot where they load my groceries for free, or for a small fee I can have them deliver to my door. Talk about options!! Their produce is fresh, their meat is beautiful and mostly excellent quality, and what I’ve experienced of their bakery is also terrific! They’ve got a great selection of products and they have everything I need. I’ll just keep going back!! Thank you for reading my long review.
I haven’t been here in a long time so I thought I would give this place a shot again. Yep, it’s still the worst Hyvee in the Midwest. Started off with no water pressure in the bathroom and no paper towels to dry my hands. Went to go look at premade meals… burnt calzones was about the best the had to offer. No plastic baggies for produce. Expired meat from the day before for sale (I was there at 9pm the next day) When I finally get checked out which included a purchased gift card that I wanted the receipt for, the receipt prints blank and they act like it’ll be a big deal to figure out how to get me a true receipt. I said forget it. Pics attached. Done with Hyvee.
I went in to purchase a prescription yesterday and after waiting in line for an 45mins they tell me they put it back on the shelf. The woman behind the counter who was the manager was extremely rude. She apparently does not like the good RX card as she says it's gonna put all pharmacies out of business. She would not honor my card or my coupon. She said it was for 1st time users only if I wanted the script I had to pay $21 instead of 7 . If she doesn't like people or doesn't like her job she should probably get a job somewhere else. I visit the pharmacy frequently and every time I've dealt with this woman she's rude.
I love shopping at Hy-Vee on St Clair in Kansas City. The store looks beautiful after the renovations, and it has everything I need. The produce section is fresh and colorful, the bakery has delicious breads and pastries, and the meat market has a great selection of quality meats and seafood. The staff is always friendly and helpful (especially the old ladies in the bakery), and the prices are very reasonable. Hy-Vee also has a Starbucks, a Caribou Coffee, a Market Grille Express, and a Mia Pizza inside, so I can enjoy a drink or a meal while I shop. Hy-Vee is my favorite grocery store in the area.
I go here a lot and am overall happy. Love their fuel saving Chiefs and points and other promos. They could have a better selection, and run out of many items - almost constantly. This is a repeat problem. The other thing that really gets me is they got rid of all of their mature employees - it's all very young people and some - not all - many are nice - are just rude and unhelpful. Don't fire the older folks! I would have given higher ratings if not for this.
The only reason for a 4/5 and not a 5 ⭐️ was the self check outs were not working properly and someone (who was working hard and with a smile and being friendly) was having to run machine to machine to clear errors, multiple times for each customer. So, I moved to a regular checkout line where the checker and bagger were delightful, I was greeted, thanked & told to have a nice day when leaving by both with smiles, it was very much noticed and appreciated!
Have to send a big shout and out to the HyVee catering team managed by Garen. They recently worked alongside us for a mutual wedding client at our venue and they were phenomenal. Garen and his team were so kind, professional and worked so hard to run a very smooth dinner / Garen even showed up way earlier than expected to get a good feel for the space. The food was absolutely delicious as well! We can’t recommend this option for your wedding enough!
I was looking for something specific at that long fridge next to the produce section. The worker all the way at the other end walked up to ask if he could help me find something. I told him what I needed, and he knew exactly where it was, which was a completely different spot than I was looking lol of course. Shouts to the worker at the other end of the fridge with great skills interpreting body language, being very kind, and super helpful.
HyVee is higher priced for some reason. Not certain why. They do have a great selection in the meat department and cheeses from around the world. Their bakery is good to average, but you can get the same from a box mix. They run weekly specials and do have cents off gasoline. The employees are friendly and knowlegable, and they do have a vast selection although some specialty items are difficult to find unless you do ask an employee.
Good service, nice selection. Prices are high, but they are high everywhere, so tough to complain about higher prices for good quality. Fellas (and lady, though I don't recall her serving me yet) at the butcher counter are all quite friendly and helpful. Lines are usually about 3-4 deep when I get in them, though they can get long because companies don't want to pay for cashiers anymore. Overall, pretty good grocery store.
I used to like this Hyvee, the products are good, but since when does the bagger no longer put the grocery in the cart? He aggressively shoved all my bags to the side for me to put in the cart. (Broke my eggs) And was rude when I had trouble with a very heavy bag getting it into my cart. There is no need for baggers any longer. If this is who management hires, maybe you need new managers.
Floral Manager Brandy recently worked with me and my florist to select and order flowers for my daughter's wedding. Brandy was friendly, accessible, and professional, and the flowers were absolutely gorgeous. She took time to answer questions and to offer suggestions to make everything perfect. I highly recommend the floral department at the St. Clair Hy-Vee. Thanks, again, Brandy!
Disrespectful cashier laughed at me when my card declined but card declined just cus my chip wasn’t working so I felt so embarrassed and pissed that they was pointing, looking at me laughing. I just left the store tried calling the store but they never answered I wanted to let them know how I felt that time so here I’m telling y’all what happened to me. Do better hyvee
Butcher counter and Deli are unparalleled. Deals of the week, follow these. I live literally 2 minutes from Price Chopper on Barry & N Oak and will venture the drive every time. There's no comparison. Best part...I can sit down at the bar in HyVee Market Grill and have a drink and good conversation with other regulars before I venture out to get all my groceries.
Haven't been in here for years. Saturday night. No carts and parked against Barry Road. Store very difficult to navigate. Ran into 2 other Seniors who were struggling as well. Finally found half n half, 1 carton left. Made do with what items I did find. Worn out when finished. Too spread out for busy times for Seniors. Imho Cashiers friendly.
Great grocery store! Always clean. People are nice. Fresh meat, produce and bakery. Lots of KC Chiefs and Royals merchandise - great for visitors who want souvenirs! Starbucks inside the store. Liquor store attached. Gas station in the next parking lot. Dispensary across the street. Lol Best spot ever for groceries.
Burned out on the super low quality of the vegetables.. I’ve had to refund bad tomatoes, wilted lettuce, bad bags of salad.. the vegetables that aren’t going bad taste mediocre at best. I will keep coming back for their pork. It’s world class. Manager looked like he was going to laugh when I complained.. …
This place has a freaking bar inside! I got dinner with Chinese and sushi and came over to the seating area to cheering from fans watching Monday night football. And 20 taps with bottles and liquor to serve! Uh, yes honey, I will accompany you to the grocery store will be every guys words in this neighborhood.
Very disappointed that they dropped Smart Balance Chunky Peanut Butter, a staple of my 96 y/o mother's diet. We bought the last case from them. Soon as it's gone there's gonna be trouble! From what I understand PB withdrawal can be pretty tough and for mom it's give me Smart Balance or give me death! ☠️ …
I am a frequent shopper at two Hy-Vees stores particularly the one off 29 hvwy on 64th & the other one off barryroad, near Zona Rosa. They are always pleasant, very friendly, the atmosphere is very nice. There Price are some what reasonable, but fare. Good place to shop for your family.
This store always seems to be fully stocked of all the good stuff, that people want to buy. This store is always really clean. This is the cleanest Hy-Vee by far, and the people are so nice and friendly, they actually acknowledge you. …
Disorganized, not very clean, didn't meet a single helpful employee, plus very high prices ! I used to love Hy-Vee and was happy to find one so close, but it was disappointing to say the least. There's a BAR inside. (Really!) ?!?!?!?!?!
I went to the Hy- Vee on Barry Road, set down at the bar and I had to much to drink. They took good care of me, by helping me get a Uber, and sending me home safe. For ever grateful to the lady behind the bar last night 6/16/2023.
They are little bit too expensive I got about 5 items and spent over 100.00 dollars I'm from Texas and things are high everywhere but not that expensive this place charged like it was the last dollar they were going to make.
I was less than thrilled that a manager and security guard followed my nephew out of the store aggressively accusing him of shoplifting a sports drink instead of asking their cashier who quickly confirmed it was purchased.
Meat department is outstanding! The store is very clean and usually well organized and stocked. My only con is prices. I shop here exclusively with sales or for meat department and do my "big" groceries shops elsewhere.
Not liking the new hy vee perks. Paying for extra for better deals. I looked into sales with the perks and still other grocery stores are cheaper. Not for me. Why we are paying more for sales? Think about it.
Great updated facility, with a very good selection of groceries. Best and honest employees that work there. Clean individual bathrooms. They also have a Tesla charging station on the north parking lot
We had this Hy-Vee cater our wedding and the food, floral, and cake was amazing! Garen from catering and Bobbie from floral were very easy to work with. Thank you for helping make our day so special.
Nice store with everything you could want. Rx, liquor store, floral and Restaurant. If they don't have something in the store, just ask and they will get it. They also have pickup and delivery.
Wow! What an amazing grocery store. They have a bar which is a win win for me. Everyone was wearing chiefs garb and the atmosphere was so positive. Really awesome experience while visiting KC.
I love Hy-Vee. They've got everything I need and the rewards program is great. Staff is friendly and helpful. They always have my favorite protein powder and it's hard to find other places.
I go here about 3 times a week after I get off work in the morning, and as someone who used to mainly shop at Walmart it is borderline creepy how well organized the store is when they open
Recently ordered a cake from the bakery and it turned out amazing! My daughter wanted a specific design that we emailed to them and they replicated it perfectly! I am beyond happy!
I have been in the store a handful of times but mostly use the pickup service and have had only great experiences. Friendly staff, and they're pretty quick. Definitely recommend.
Great sales. Nice produce. I'm able to find things here that Walmart & Price Chopper don't carry. However, they did not have Busch Light in bottles (for our guests-their request)
I come here once a week spend about $400 and I have to bag my own groceries? Come on man if I wanted to do that I’d check out my whole cart full of stuff at the self check out.
Email said I would get 50 Cent gas discount for spending $50, spent $100, didn't get the discount, then had to wait 10 minutes at customer service just to get help.
Go CHIEFS!!! Clean store with very nice people. Love the Red for the home team. Good selection of any food. Easy checkout. So friendly and helpful. Awesome cakes.
The customer service is unmatched. The store is always well stocked and clean. Everyone that works there is very friendly. It’s just a great place to shop.
Great service, broad selection, and the Hy Vee kitchens food is pretty good. Unfortunately, their prices are higher than Willie Nelson's tour bus driver.
Helpful and friendly staff. Prices are certainly higher than average on most products. Very good produce, meat, meals to go and seafood departments.
Good food, decent customer service and decent layout. But everything I got was $2-$4 more expensive than the same brands at save a lot
These stores are always so clean. Only down fall is they have alot of things you would normally find together, apart from each other.
I go there regularly. I especially like getting gas points with the high gas prices. People who work there are friendly & helpful.
Love this store! Love eating all the food at the front. Doesn't even taste like it's from grocery store. Def recommend trying it.
This is a nice, clean, Hy-Vee with everything you need for every celebration you have with family and friends and the chiefs!!
This hyvee is always super busy but staff are friendly and always help me when i need it. Love the Starbucks crew as well!!!
Great store after update. I went for Lily's chocolates and rebel ice cream, they had a good variety of the different types.
My go-to for all of my families grocery needs. Love their fuel saver rewards. The staff are always kind and helpful.
Always a nice clean store with everything you need in a grocery store. An extra star just for not being wallyworld
Hy-Vee's I've got it going on. They've got the fast and fresh. They've usually got Tesla chargers there too
Favorite place to buy groceries. Quality items for a fair price. Store is always clean and friendly staff.
Great place to stop in charge while you’re doing your grocery shopping having lunch dinner even breakfast.
Hy-Vee is one of the better supermarkets in the area. To get the best value, stick to store brands.
Clean and friendly store. I was able to find the quick meal options while I was on travel.
It is great place, clean, good choice of meat and the bakery has delicious staff.
Magnificent store super fresh produce, fine meats, and everything in one stop.
Always has what I need in stock! Great liquor variety and reasonably priced.
Nice store, good employees. I just wish the parking lot was set up better.
Everyone was so helpful and friendly and the store was just incredible
I bought sushi for lunch. Great price for the portion. Food was fresh!
It’s an ok place but kinda overpriced compared to other grocery stores
Always a good experience. Very good selection and the staff is great.
Guy that waited on me was very nice. Ordered a Wahl burger. Was good.
This store is always very clean and the staff is extremely helpful.
Too expensive. Milk is $2 more than Walmart and it's store brand??
Hy-Vee is the only store I have found that carries Chicken Bacon
Almost exclusively their brands now. Not enough Disability carts
It's always well organized friendly and has a lot of everything
A huge store, great selections and friendly staff that we met.
Always have what I want. Check out lines are never too long.
I love this store. Friendly service and clean atmosphere!
Awesome clean huge makeup area bar dining was the best
Very convenient prices, nice customer service
