We used Hype Travel because this is were the bride/groom chose. Our rep that we were dealing with was Tamara, The experience as a guest started off okay, we were told that if we wanted to attend the wedding that we had to book through Hype not sure that is true as its not like we get different wrist bands so think thats a lie. But that really wasnt the issue. I booked on 1 reservations for myself, wife and 2 children (ages 4 and 2) when we got our flight info my wife and i were sitting together and my children were not even on the reservation. When we reached out to Tamara asking were our kids flight info was she sent to us under a different reservation ‍♂️. My 4 and 2 year olds were sitting by themselves spread across the plane. But not sure why we would have to reach out to Hype to get this sorted its just common sense to see a 4 and 2 year old with their parents. But upon getting this sorted with Tamara (Hype) the blame was put on Air Transat, Hype kept passing the blame on to the vendors and took zero responsibility. Once this was sorted and we arrived at Moon Palace Cancun (Nizuc resort) we were told that our party was not staying there with the rest of the wedding party. We to our surprise were staying at Sunrise resort. Not what we all booked and paid for. Hype Travel (Tamara) have done nothing to compensate us besides putting the blame on the hotel. But also then sending us an email stating that Sunrise was the hotel we were all staying at from the get go which is a lie as the Bride/Groom were also vary shocked about the hotel location switch. So not sure which it is, the hotel made a mistake or Hype saying we were always staying at Sunrise. I dont think they even know. Complete joke. We were told by Hype Travel (Tamara) that Moon Palace Cancun doesnt offer resort credits anymore which was a complete lie. The hotel told us that you still get resort credit but because we booked through Hype they have to pass along to us which they did not. So clearly they are taking the kick back. So on top of that kick back and charging us to stay at the Higher priced resort but then putting us in the lower end Hype made out pretty good on there end. If i was booking a destination wedding i would recommend NOT to use Hype Travel. They will screw your guests and treat them like garbage. The worst customer service. Highly Recommend you find another agency.

Jay Grewal and Hype Travel + iRock Weddings. Everything & more. We booked a travel agent to help us with helping coordinate flights and transportation to & from the airport to the resort. I am not sure how we were so blessed to get everything and more through Jay, JT Singh, Deepa, and the entire team. To mention a few examples briefly, we spoke to Jay close to 3x/day answering any and every question we threw at him (and trust us, we had a lot). He went above and beyond to help secure a Kirpan for my entrance as a groom, the Hard Rock Suite, Limo Transport upon both the bride & groom’s arrivals, and again, so much more. Jay was a vendor at the end of the day and did his job, but the beauty of how he worked was his actions continuously reminded you he was on YOUR side. Jay demanded responses from the resort and other vendors when we weren’t hearing back (this is common if you haven’t started planning yet), he used his political capital and pulled in favors for us left, right, and center from the smallest things like making sure the rooms can move certain guests around to getting us multiple taste testing’s and site visits upon the changing of the chef (multiple times). In addition to all this, he personally greeted all our guests and spoke to every single person before they booked a room and did simple things like grabbing me a red bull before the reception when I was on 3 hours of sleep. The task of organizing a Destination Wedding is already tough enough. Surrounding yourself with the RIGHT people such as Jay are absolutely vital for the success of your events or else you’ll be in misery. We are so grateful and thankful to have gotten to know Jay from not only this perspective, but as a lifelong friend. He treats your wedding as his wedding, and he shows his care into making sure everything goes how you planned or he’ll die trying. When looking for a destination wedding planner and coordinator, do not look further than Jay. You’ll be happy to have him and regret not having him if you choose otherwise.

We had an amazing experience, we were a group of almost 70 people and Jay Grewal was super knowledgeable and helpful during the whole booking process. All of my guests got there safely and without any headache, without him we would have been lost! He always answers any questions and is always super helpful, he gets back to you within a matter of minutes! Any time we needed him, he was there day or night. Also to the reviewer who just posted, something similar happened to a family member of mine but it was entirely her fault. It is indicated to show up to an international flight ATLEAST 90 minutes prior to boarding and she had come to the airport while everyone was at the gate ready to board(half an hour before take off) Nonetheless, Jay was able to book a second flight for her (we were very impressed that he gave her options, she chose what suited her best) without any hassle and she came on the next flight out. We are very grateful to Jay and could not recommend him enough!

Very poor service. Not recommend to anyone. I had very bad experience with them . I booked 4 people in group wedding with them . Once we paid for our trip , they didn’t care if someone get there or not . I missed my flight . First , they said it will be refund to you . When I asked for refund then jay said you misunderstood, I never said that . Such a liar . I booked different flight because I was not from Toronto. I came from Woodstock which is 1.5 hours away from airport. Jay said next flight is next day . If I come next day again it will another gas & time . If I came late then in Mexico , everyone in same shuttle & arrived at 1.25 &flight was 3.25 then how come ever Able to do check in & security in 2 hours . Please don’t make own statements. I already sent you airline email where they clearly mentioned that only travel agent can able to process refund . It’s you guys not refunding money not airline . First check airline reply then give false statement.

The question is, why do travel agents exist? This was my first, and likely last time, I will use a travel agent to book a vacation. They basically took our money and we heard nothing about our vacation itinerary. The shuttle too and from the Cancun airport was a nightmare because my family was under some cryptic code the agent used which isn’t helpful when the agents in Mexico aren’t great with English and you cannot communicate. When I inquired about the return shuttle, they told me not to worry it’s booked, but yet didn’t tell me a time or a place to meet the shuttle. I had to contact the airline myself to figure out further details. I assumed that a dying business, like a travel agent, would offer more support and give use better communication.

1st time booking with Hype Travel and will recommend JT to everyone I know. I am “do it yourself” type of guy BUT never again will I book a trip without Hype Travel. We had plans to stay in Cancun tor 7 nights and JT changed our whole trip for us. We ended up exploring Tulum, Playa, and Cancun in one week. The best part is that JT does not just book the trip for you and leave you in the dust. This guy is the ultimate quarterback. He helped us WHILE we were in Mexico with any questions we had.
