"Great clean store, friendly staff, and very helpful"
This afternoon I went to get some coffee IGA @ 4th Ave & Collingwood st and this staff Tanya, also the sister of the franchise owner of this location was not only rude and unprofessional considering she is one of the senior staff there.. I was getting my coffee in my mug and she quickly came and count the number of pumps I put on my mug reading out aloud to me. I asked her why are you counting, she said she wants to know how much coffee I put in there. That's ridiculous, intimidating of a customer while pouring its coffee, she is the devil of the pack. She has been telling the other morning cashier to charge me a large coffee. All these while the other staffs have been charging me a medium size coffee and once I asked why the inconsistency, the morning cashier rudely said I will charge you a large next time. I can pay for the coffee for whatever price but please be professional and treat your customers with respect. No smile and no respect, unprofessional approach kind of service is unacceptable. I called for the assistant manager Terry and told him about the situation and he did nothing because she is the sister's owner of this store. A total of 3 cashiers showed bad attitude towards their customers. I deserve an apology either from the management or from Tanya herself. I strongly do not recommend this place due to the attitude and rudeness of their staffs, highly overpriced and I will continue to update my reviews when deemed necessary.
This IGA store is remarkable. The space that it occupies is not as big as other supermarkets', or other IGA's for that matter. However, they have been able to fit a wide variety of products in the area they have available to make this a one-stop shopping option. Every department has a presence here: produce, meats, poultry, seafood, bakery, prepared foods, etc. Specially impressive is their Ethnic Foods section, which includes a very good variety. Prices are probably not as low as a NoFrills, but you can always find excellent deals (2×1 on chicken breasts!). Worth a visit!
Nice grocery shopping experience. It has wider aisles. I didn't bump into any other shoppers. It's not as busy as the budget stores. This place is more expensive but it has many ready to make meal solutions like marinated meats and schnitzel. There is a bakery and a deli section. I didn't go during the busy time so for me, there was no line up. Parking is available right on Fourth and it appears to be plentiful for the time I went. I went mid day on the weekend.
Very helpful pleasant staff, also this store has a great selection of the kind of items you may not get at other grocery stores like gluten free and Japanese sauces and frozen shrimp tempera, raw tuna and Italian pancetta. These items have not risen in price (or were on sale) since the summer. Pleasantly surprised at that! Could have been 5 stars if all the prices were a bit lower but still all in all it was a well spent gift card!
Great clean store, friendly staff, and very helpful.the meats are fresh cut. I buy fresh cut flowers in the store and get over a week of looking at them. I go into IGA first before i go to the other stores because for instance one week a store had kraft dinner on for a $1.00 ea. I went into IGA and they are on for .50 cents ea.if u are ever looking for something and have a hard time trying to find it IGA will probably have it in stock.
Prices are usually higher at IGA. But it's a nice clean place to buy groceries quickly. The soup here have always been freshly made. And absolutely delicious. I would recommend them to put in less salt for people for high blood pressure....and put small signs as well as to how much sodium etc in the soups made. As such...there are a high number of older age people coming here for soup. It would be nice to have at least less sodium.
Even though the prices are high for most of the products, the store uses to have a lot of variety when it comes to organic stuff. The "food ready to go" section is always clean and fresh. I like to pick certain food when I don't have the time to cook because it's always ready here and I can feel it tasty. Also, the employees try to keep everything as clean and organized as possible within the place. Well-done!!
I really like IGA. Usually fresh produce at a reasonable price. There are always some offers. The one thing I have an issue with is they spray the cilantro leaves with water all the time. So if I bring it home and don't dry it for another 5 hours, it develops black spots the very next day. There are some vegetables that they don't need to keep spraying water on. Hope they take them out.
Lovely local store with amazingly helpful, cheerful, and hard-working staff. To the woman who complained about eggnog and beef in the same bag—get a life. Bring and pack your own bags; it’s 2020. You should be ashamed of yourself. If you had a problem with it, you could have said something at the time instead of leaving a nasty review.
I don’t think it’s worth it to go to buy groceries in this place. They are over priced and plus the cashier. They are full with that bad attitude even the management they don’t need to even to listen to a problem they’re taking their own entrance and professional staff site. They don’t give a damn about the customers.
Now there is a over priced place to make up for there over paid under worked staff its a shame that this job deserves more then a McDonald employee! I don't know what really to say about how this is the two stars is for the few staff members that take the time to care about there customers and earn the income
IGA has a good selection of products for the most part considering its size and compact location. While not always stocking the most cost-effective options it does often have good deals. As a young professional on a budget I found it to be fairly affordable, well laid out, and staffed by friendly people!
For a chain grocer this location is about the best you get. Everything you could ask for to prepare quality meals with only slightly premium prices. Smaller store but much thought has been put into quality products and placement. Isles are small and comfortable but dosen't sacrifice on amount of items.
I have been using the online grocery order service during the pandemic and have appreciated the friendly demeanor of all the staff I've interacted with when I've done pick-ups. For the size of the store, their inventory is also pretty impressive and the produce and meat are always fresh. Thanks IGA!
Awesome neighborhood grocery store. The produce and meat are always high quality and the staff are just wonderful. Prices are actually comparable to No Frills with respect to fresh items and the quality is infinitely better. Plus, they're actually reliably stocked with food!
The store in general is great , but after witnessing a staff member totally degrade, humiliate and then the forceful removal of fairly purchased merchandise from an elderly man who caused no harm just simply wanted to use the washroom, I felt the need to leave a review.
Crazy expensive, this grocery store has Whole Foods-like pricing (some things even like Erewhon I swear…!) The bakery is good and it’s handy for grabbing beach snacks or fancy sauces, but too expensive for actual grocery shops. Also, they don’t accept Scene points!
I've never felt more compelled to write a review, than I have for this IGA. I've been shopping here for a few years now, and it has quickly become my favorite grocery store. They have the friendliest staff of any grocery store I've been to,
Awful staff behind the Deli counter. My goodness. I've gone here for months and the brunette girl that's worked there I think the longest (I heard her training ppl) seems miserable or unable to even smile. So depressing. I think she hates
Pricey but a one stop shop ! Small store but they pack it with just about anything I can think of! I even got a great bday card there and valentines for my class . The prices of the ready made salads are bordering on robbery. I nearly
A few nights ago, I visited IGA for the first time after recommendation from a friend. I found the layout to be neat and well thought through. The store is well stocked with food and much to my excitement they even have a wine section!
Above everything else this IGA is convenient. It's hours are good, it's in a location that does not have too many other choices, and it provides what you need. It is a small store so the selection is limited, but covers the bases. The
Really care about the work that they do and go the extra mile to provide fresh meat and produce. Prices are very low, and customer service is on point. Ground beef is fresh enough to be safely cooked rare if done the same day.
I don't recommend using the elevator. We were stuck in it for over an hour with 2 small children. Because the store did nothing to apologize or help the kids feel less scared we will no longer shop there.
Has everything you need, but the prices are a little high. It was nice to find a good store so close to the marina we are staying at. We rode our bikes over and loaded up for the next leg of our journey.
Personally, what I love, probably, the most about this particular store is the meat selection. Always fresh, great prices too! The in-store made fresh pork sausages are super delicious!
They have these vegan cookies by the brand of Rebel. Wow it must be a new product. I highly recommend all you cookie lovers to indulge and treat yourself to these Rebel cookies!!!
Carries everything type store, like a Safeway. Good selection of unusual vegetables. Fair pricing. Other grocery stores seem to be doing some greed-flation. Not IGA.
Fantastic neighbourhood grocery store! They even try to carry specific brands if requested. Deli manager Tanisha is the best! Always smiling and upbeat!
This smaller grocery chain (at least in Vancouver) has everything you need. It is a medium sized store. Free underground parking. #LetsGuide #covid
A good, smaller grocery store. It's a little on the pricey side but always has a good selection and the checkout process is efficient
expensive groceries compared to the grocery store down the street. Eg. 500g Pasta on "sale" for $3.29 vs $1.50 regular
Be carfull when you buy ham the price was in promotion and they charge the regular price. Always check your receipt .
Nice place to do some groceries. Is well supplied and varied. Not cheap, neither too expensive. Nice attention
This is my go to iga. They have friendly helpful staff and the store is clean and well laid out.
Good location. There is plenty of free parking. Good prices. There's always something on sale.
Clean. Friendly staff. Free Wi-Fi. It's has the basics. A good stop before hitting the beach.
High quality stock. Difficult to find produce in a clean and well designed shop.
Very nice grocery store. Well stocked and helpful staff.
