This IHOP is lying to customers & the IRS to avoid paying tax on their actual profits. They only accept cash payment, they've been lying for more than 4 months telling customers the machine is broken or the internet isn't connecting - the lie changes from day to day - but it's all to force customers to pay cash so there's no electronic record of what they actually receive when reporting their profits to the IRS - illegal & a disgusting smear on the name of IHOP!!! They don't even tell you upfront, they wait for you to get comfortable, read the menu & decide what you want before they hit you with the lie, so you're more likely to go ahead with it & not walk out. It's downright manipulative. I usually love IHOP, I look forward to eating at this one every time I'm in San Francisco but their deceitful practices are unacceptable. IHOP know what's going on & they're doing nothing about it - the link they want you to copy & paste into a browser doesn't actually work!! It comes up with an error message saying they're having trouble with that page & to click into their usual website page, where they ask you to refill all the information over again! Is this entire company defunct?? UPDATE: I've tracked down the owner, Karen Jo Miles & it's clear the reason her staff are behaving so badly is because she is a terrible leader. She wasn't interested that her staff are lying to customers about the machine being down, she wasn't interested in the other reviews for 3 months also stating her staff are asking for "cash only", she wasn't interested in the many reviews about bad customer service. She was unprofessional & had no desire to use the opportunity to sort out her staff issues & improve her business. I understand why the place is empty so often, customers just don't support businesses that take advantage of them.

I have to say I LOVE IHOP when it’s good. Typically my experiences have been okay, but this was not typical. I went to this IHOP three times while on my trip to San Francisco. Each time I had great service, great food, and enjoyed each meal immensely. The restaurant was also very clean. Working in restaurants my whole life I understand what happens when things are not clean. If the standards are bad in the bathrooms or dining room the same standards are usually the same in the kitchen. Everything was spotless. Whatever this location is doing for it’s staff please keep it up because this was a great place to eat some yummy comfort food. I also want to add that I felt 100% safe. The news makes San Francisco sound like a horrible place, but I was here two weeks and never felt unsafe. Thanks for listening and if you’re visiting this is a nice place for those of us who need a chain restaurant experience every once in awhile. :)

Me and my family went to this IHOP to have our first dinner of the year, but we ended up leaving the restaurant unattended. As we walked in, the entrance was really smelly and there were 2 families awaiting to be seated and 1 delivery person waiting to pick up an order. The waiter named Milton was responsible for the whole place and made our experience even worse. We waited about 5 minutes to get his attention and finally be seated. Around 10 minutes after seating at the table, nobody even asked our drinks or asked us to wait a little bit (the restaurant had only 2 tables occupied by then). We left the restaurant after this. Milton didn’t even look at us and it probably took him about another 10 minutes to realize we left. The experience as a whole was extremely disappointing, especially for my mom who loves the IHOP franchise and travels to the US once a year looking forward to the iconic pancakes.

For my last day in the US I tend to go to an "American Breakfast Place". IHOP has long been my go to, but this time I ended up regretting it. Let's focus on the good first: Location is close to Fisherman's Wharf and thus this location is very easy to get to. The staff were very friendly, I was seated promptly and Roberto made sure I was well taken care of. Sadly the food disappointed on this visit. I would go so far to say that the breakfast I had on my flight back home was better than the Split Decision Breakfast I had here. Overall the food was very fatty and a tad bland, with the notable exception of the sausages and bacon. I believe that I was simply unlucky, yet I cannot rate this visit beyond three stars.

This place is fab. Will literally have something on the menu for everyone. The staff are friendly and we were seated straight away. The coffee was delicious too. I had the cheesecake pancakes, I wasn’t overly impressed to be fair, the cheesecake bites were apparently in the pancake batter which was disappointing as you couldn’t taste them, and the pancakes were a little dry( I had to pour some syrup on to them) but my other halves french toast was lovely. Covered in strawberries and sauce. The prices for San Francisco didn’t seem too expensive either given we had paid 50$ at Denny’s the day before. Overall I would definitely go again to any ihop.

We're vacationing in San Francisco, so after we got in to our hotel we decided to go out to grab something to eat and since IHOP is our go too in Arlington TX where we live , we thought it would be a safe bet, but when we arrived, there were three tables in use the guy made us wait at the door, refused to sit us at a table while he took orders. He told us we would have to wait at the door he couldn't seat us and it would be another 10 minutes. The restaurant was almost empty. We left and went to Hard Rock Cafe. I rarely write bad reviews but do not go to this place, they suck.

Update pancakes that are made with almond flour. The pancakes dont taste fluffy not chefs fault its not there recipe. I got blueberry pancakes. My friend had a burger we were on a date. The server gave me coffee refills he was kind. Time to update decor for more modern feel to draw a crowd of teenagers or adults. Modern paint job not childish design not 1955 bar stool tables.

Pretty standard quality of food compared to other IHOPs around. Service is prompt and efficient. Crowded compared to other restaurants in the area. Always enjoy the sirloin tips with eggs and hash browns. Pancakes are soft and fluffy but always wish they would serve them a little later so they are still warm after eating the main course.

No thrills breakfast food. It's the only place open at 6 am around this area. The eggs and potatoes were great. I would skip the bacon and french toast, just keep it simple. Also, way overpriced for some items, $5 for a glass of orange juice, $3.50 for toast? I should have gone to the Safeway down the street.

Walked in at 8:30ish pm Friday night, got told they were only taking cash as efpos not working. We told them we had cash, shown to table and then ignored for 20 minutes. Waitress was cleaning tables that were not dirty and basically ignoring us, so we walked out. If you don’t want customers, close earlier, don’t advertise you are open till 12am. Very poor customer service.

Went here for breakfast right when it opened at 6am. The man who served us was excellent. The food was on point. The price is a bit high, but the service was worth it. The breakfast fueled us for the whole day. Definitely recommended.

Entered the restaurant at 8:30 pm. Several signs said, that we should wait to be seated. We waited for 15 minutes. The waiter passed by several times. The cook told him that we were waiting. He looked at us, but didn’t react. There were only three tables occupied. Obviously they didn’t want any further guests. We left. If I were the owner of this restaurant, I would fire the entire staff.

A homeless woman who was sitting inside eating kept calling my son and I names and being loud about talking about us and other customers. I won't return. Bad business!! I didn't have an issue with her being there but I do have a big problem with her insults.

Walked in around 8:30 when they close at 12am, and were told they can only accept cash as the machine wasn’t working. We let them know we had cash, so we were brought to our table and then promptly ignored for half an hour, no water or any acknowledgment from the staff. It’s not like the place was busy either, we ended up walking out.

3 nights last week we ate here, food was good, but the best element was the service, particularly the 2nd n 3rd vists when the young lady served us. She is excellent, warm greeting and smile, and made sure we had what we wanted. If only all waitresses were like her. Recommend, and we will visit next time in SF.

I love IHOP and till this moment I never had a bad experience in it. The food is tasteful, the staff was great and the portions are just enough for you to go half a day without thinking about food. This time had myself a little brunch meal with some soft, tasteful meat and I enjoyed it a lot. The 'american diner' design is very welcoming for a breakfast place.

The worst experience dining ever, no service and Cook is not a cook. Two nights in a row I'm counting on this location to feed me. Poor management, lack enough scheduling for the ward, and closing at 9:30 when it's posted for 10:00. Thanks, the only negative in trip is IHOP. YOU GUYS SINK

Extremely poorly run. It’s in my neighborhood but it’s better to drive to the suburbs than go here. There’s tons of tables open but management says they can’t use them because the kitchen is backed up. Hollywood Cafe is walking distance away, it’s better and they are efficiently run.
